In this lil game of ours, it is easy to get lost and so focused into collecting items or unlocking characters that we tend to forget the lil things that make the game what it is. Like Where the HELL did these items come from and why are they in our games?
Well I am here to do just that for you. Let’s take a look at the Family Guy Series and find out just Where The HELL Did That Come From?
In this post, I will be covering the Origin of Human Rupert. Why does Stewie’s stuffed animal look like a person? Does he look like this a lot? Let’s take a look at the TV Episodes to find out.
Season 5, Episode 1: Stewie Loves Lois
Stewie is at the park with his lil stuffed friend playing. Stewie, as usual, is annoyed by Lois and plots to cause her harm. Just then a giant strange dog shows up. Stewie tries to tell him to go away. It snarls and takes off with Rupert. Stewie panicks as Lois chases after the dog, tackles it, and pulls Rupert from its jaws. Sadly, Rupert is torn to pieces. Stewie begs him to hang on. Promises if he makes he will take him away, like to Hawaii as he has always wanted to. Cut screen to a scene of Rupert’s head on a buff mans body. Stewie and him splash in the ocean and then lay on their beach towels on the sand.
Season 9, Episode 7: Road to the North Pole
We see Human Rupert again in this episode, but just for a bit. It is during the opening credits that we catch a glimpse of the Snowman version of him that Stewie has created.
So there are a few instances in which you can see Rupert in Human form. Silly way to bring a character in the game, but it works. Lol. Did you win him yet? Do you like his tasks? Have a favorite? Why do you insist Tinyco is listening? Players have repeatedly shown in polls they don’t like buildings bought with clams that drop quest or event items, it’s a pay 2 win system.
The vast majority people do not want this, nor do I remember anyone ever asking to have the event extended by one day.
If tinyco was in fact listening, they’d be doing the following:
1) removing all buildings bought with clams that either ensure or give chances at drops for quest and event items “Remove pay 2 win”
2) Not release events that require the player to play 24hrs straight neglecting sleep and their job
3) Don’t make characters unavailable to like 95% of the players.
4) Definitely don’t extend the event by 24hrs when the masses never asked for it.
Recent poll showed Rupert was acquired by 3% of the people pole, there sere several hundred that took part. Absolutely atrocious odds. Yet Tinyco just hasn’t “gotten it” yet. Perhaps it’s time they make this game 100% free and make everything bought with clams at the moment free until they figure out how to create proper game where players “want” to spend money, not feel they “have” to spend money.

Out of curiosity what poll was that? Because we haven’t done our poll yet, we’re waiting for the event to end.
TinyCo is making steps in the right direction. It’s still a new game, so I take little things like this (the change in the item drops, the inclusion of a mystery box that costs money, etc) as signs direct from player feed back that they’re listening.
Are they ever going to please everyone? No. No one ever does. The critics will always be there. However, for most of the people they’re liking the steps they’re taking and that’s all we can ask for.
At the end of the day, no one’s forcing you to play the game. It’s got to provide you with some level of enjoyment, and if it doesn’t then maybe it’s time to walk away.

Wow but unfortunately I have other life priorities that won’t let me play this game for 24 hrs straight 🙂 I just feel doing a task 5,6,7 or even 8 times for 8 hrs and zip is a little exsessive.

Not having a go at the game or this mini event at all because personally I really enjoyed the event, I got all the items I wanted (truck, pirate car, Rupert + a few new residents for inventory town) so I’m really pleased 🙂
But as a side note, is anyone else who got Rupert a little bummed out that he’s unvoiced? Not something that has put me off or anything I would just have loved to hear the overly camp voice he has 😂

Finally got Rupert on my last box today! Also got the lobster shanty, Pawtucket ale truck, a c Koi pond and the island both of which I already had. Happy I got the shanty and Rupert tho!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned but I’d just like to point out Human Rupert was also in the episode Stewie kills Lois, when Brian confronted him about it he says his alibi was having gone to the carnival with Rupert where you see him wining toys for Stewie… Stewie then suggests they go on the teabags… Ahh I mean tea cups. 😛

Events and new characters are good because people will eventually spend money…….limited time events are not good because they mean people will have to spend money. How is anyone supposed to get the full amount of toys a day….don’t TinyCo realise that sleep is a thing

So i got Rupert after opening the same box for about 10 times 😀 Yes, the same box…after i noticed some people saying here that their game crashed and after it they got a diferent prize i took that to my advantage…i got the cover of my phone of and everytime i didn’t get Rupert i instantly took the batery off (lol) and repeated the process until i got him.

Sharing my last thought from the event. Before I complain, I DO think this was a nice way to release a character. While a bit of luck is involved, the chances of getting him are rather high for freemium players, and as long as he’ll be available again for clams, no one can really complain at free chances. Plus, you could also win 280 clams worth of other stuff. Pretty sweet for almost no effort.
That said, I’m with the others where I’ve opened 10/11 of my chances, as I missed one on the first day. My last two items are Gold Digger Island and Rupert, and it’s tough to feel optimistic. I have to admit I partially blame TinyCo for not properly introducing the event. They need to have some kind of event announcement or notification or SOMETHING to let us know when these things are added, especially if it’s going to be so time-constrained. I ended up spending about 20 clams just to recover from the first day so I could get all the other opportunities possible… It’ll suck even worse if I still don’t get Rupert in the end.
On the other hand, people got Rupert at every number, so I know it’s just random luck… So while upset, I’m still praying that my last attempt in 5 hours will be Rupert.

Because of work i had to rush a few characters. My very last attempt and I got Rupert BUT… The app crashed. When I tried again I got the billboard. I have no more chances. What a rip-off. This isn’t the first inopportune app crash, but it may be the final straw for me. It’s just not worth the time, effort and money to end up with nothing so many times.

I think after not getting Rupert today. I’m pretty much giving up on this game and going to tsto full time. I’m tired of the disappointment of this game. I understand it’s freemium but I buy clams. I opened 11 out of 12 boxes. Can you guess what present wasnt brought to the Tea Party? The only one I wanted! 😥
The worst thing is, the only reasom I missed it was because it was on the first day and about an hour before the toy was supposed to change, I thought I better leave them off the task ready for the next toy because I never realised until the 2nd day that you just had to do the same tasks (dont think anyone did), imagine my suprise when I go on at 9 (noon pdt) nothing had changed. so I waited, thinking “any minute now it will change”. Gave up, checked back at 11pm (2pm pdt) still “change at noon”, so i put them on the task thinking maybe they’ve added a day and this will stay till noon tomorrow.
wake up the next day to find out that it changed at 5am… So if I woke up at 3, I would have had the last prize too! But I had no idea when it would end 😦
Sorry for the long story, it probably belongs in fridays upcoming wth post, but I just opened my last box, so thought I’d complain now whilst I still remember the dissapointment of peters pirate car being in the last box 😦
Oh and I’m blaming Timy Co 100% for this, not that that will do/change anything lol

I spent 200 clams for Topiary Stewie but it didn’t help me to win Human Rupert. I opened 10 of 12 boxes and all items I won stay in my inventory because I already had them. I hate these stupid lotteries … even if you spend real money the result is not guaranteed. I guess they will offer Human Rupert for clams because in FaceSpace he is under “Characters you buy”.

I got Rupert yesterday and I must say… I expected a bit more. Im happy I got him (wohooo) but I was hoping that their would be an action where Rupert and Stewie would interact or maybe Stewie being all happy considering he got his best friend (other than Brian ofcourse) Hopefully tinyco will add a action where both interact? 😀

I have one more chance to win Rupert. I would love to have a big man bear waling around my town. Even if i dont get him one good thing did happen for me during this time, I finally unlocked falcon Peter thanks to Joe dropping the last glove i have been waiting for. Any idea if TC is planning to have something like TSTO’s Conform-O-Meter?
It would be nice to have some kind of bonus for premium decorations and buildings. Or even to have something to work towards as far as “have 10 houses, have 25 offices, have 5 restaurants, have 50 trees, have 30 decorations, have 10 boats…” It does get boring just looking for items and things to unlock characters. It would be nice to have a purpose behind these decorations and buildings other than coin-builders.

As of right now, no. But I agree with you it would be a nice feature to have! But keep in mind the game is still new (and TSTO is nearing 2 years old), so TinyCo will still tweak and change the game as it progresses until they find the right “formula”, so you never know what the future holds 🙂

I say enjoy due to each game is made for enjoyment. And every person has a different idea of what enjoyment is. If a game is not fun for someone, it may not be the right game for them.
Playing RPG games since childhood, I see this as no different than the Legends of Zelda or other games I played where not every time I did an action, did I succeed or have a payout I wanted. Some I had to redo many times. Or try over n over. I still LOVE the Zelda games to this day. Still will play many RPG games to this day. It is what YOU take out of it. Honestly.
That is my take on it anyway. There are games out there I hate, due to I think they are boring too while others are delighted with them. All in personal taste. This is just one of many ways of gaming.

I know how you feel. I’ve been doing Joe and Lois’s task since the District Opened to get the Gloves for Falconer Peter and only have 1 so far. Over 1 week of playing and only 1 glove to show for it…VERY frustrating. But the second you unlock him you’ll feel better 🙂

May I ask on this issue what day you contacted them? I only am due to the time frame is 24 to 72 hours for most responses. That depends on the issue, if it is an issue, and what it will take to resolve issue. I know that it can be frustrating to not get instant gratification. This is not that kind of game. This is an RPG similar, time consuming, “work for it” type of game.
Makes us Addicts go insane as we are used to if we want it, we get it stuff. 😉

I did everything I was supposed to. I sent everyone on the required tasks. I timed it to collect the toys right on schedule. I collected enough toys to have the max 3 parties a day. I even bought the extra items to get extra toys to make sure I wouldn’t miss anything. I just collected my last gift from my last party on the last day. No Rupert…just another billboard. Not sure how TinyCo could possibly think this is good design that through no fault of our own we could miss out. Not happy.

I think tinyco should release events like: example: July 22 12PM
So for someone it releases 12PM PDT and for someone else 12PM GMT.
That would make it fair for everyone. Or they should set an event on a date and when you open the game the event starts for you so everyone starts the same way with enough time.

Damn this vile rigged event. Down to 2 prizes left, and surprise surprise, they are Rupert and Peter’s Pirate Car, arguably the most expensive items of the event. Still a 50/50 shot on Rupert… TinyCo is really letting people down with these no notice events starting when everyone normally goes to sleep and in which you need every last minute to complete them.

Its not rigged. That I know. I get to see it from my point of view and hundreds of comments. Rupert hit all over. No one knew when. Just…random. Working on the late night thing. Trying get a bit more info on why. I know this was set to launch much earlier…but something caused a delay.

It is rigged in the fact that it needed EVERY LAST MINUTE to be completed and TinyCo dropped the ball by not releasing it sooner or compensating for the fact that they didn’t. Sure if I would have decided to spend 100 plus clams speeding everything up I’d be fine and have won Rupert. Got to love pay to win games. Events should be able to be won and COMPLETED without paying if you put the time in. This event has seriously hurt my attitude towards this game even if I unlock Rupert tonight.

I can understand why you feel that way. The timing thing was an error to me too. I am not sure what happened. Something prevented them from releasing it at the time they wanted. So it was a scramble to try and fix it and still give everyone 24 hours instead of 12. Overall cool thoughts and intentions on giving away items that cost clams for Free to players. Execution did need some work. It still seemed to work better than the some of the other events I have seen. I know there is a mind set of must have it all, but in a game of chance…that usually means you got to pay for it. At least in the real world. I did however see players still get all prizes and not spend one single clam. It all comes down to how your game plays out on how you will view the event. Sorry it was not in your favor.
Let them know your thoughts. Send them constructive criticism. Likes/Dislikes…etc. They do listen. That much is obvious. 😉

That’s what bugs me. It shouldn’t have been a game of chance. If we had known about the update myself and many others would have gotten all the prizes by actually playing without spending a clam.
I just hope TinyCo does change their update dates as you said you’ve brought it to their attention.

I know. It is harder to stomache “chance” events vs laid out ones. Thing is, can’t please everyone. Some people get a riot out of the chance. So, I think they try them both. Still…better odds in this game than others I saw. More obtainable goals as far as getting to the end.

Depending where you live timing is an issue. 10pm pdt here in nz is late afternoon. Simpsons updates always hit when im sleeping. Since this game for once is favouring android over apple in terms of releases maybe for a change they are doing the timing to suit international players instead of americans. Intentional or not it does make a nice change having things happen at good times for us.

I believe this event was done right. You could go to great lengths and play evry foyr hours and most likely come out with everything free. Or you could make it easier on yoyrself with a little cash. This in contrast to King Butt, where it was virtually impossible without spending money. I bought my first clams on this event and opened all but one on day one…no rupert or car. Glad for the extra day which i suspect will pay a lot of Ruperts.

I finally got in after about 8 times of tapping on retry. collected a few items and set a few characters back on Stewie / Carter tasks and then got the Consuela screen again. Tried over 10 retries already . still no luck. got kicked out again. I have a very good signal on the phone right now. so I don’t think it is that.

WiFi is ALWAYS best. I never trust mobile (also it kills my plan data usage too). WiFi seems to be best for app games in all cases. 😉

damn the little event 😦 I still need 3 prizes and can get 1 more box if I spend 16 or less clams.
😦 wish the event would end tomorrow. Kinda think its unfair for those people who started late because they live in another timezone. They miss atleast 1 or 2 boxes and can’t get Rupert on time.

Sorry, I hope your luck gets better. The first day lasted almost a day and a half. The others…the time never switched for until, in some cases, and hour later. There has been a bit a extra time here and there instead of times up and done. You may get a lil more time today too. Just keep trying. The closer to the end you get, the less it costs in clams…if you so choose to spend them. Or, you can wait and see what they offer AFTER the event and if possibility of still getting Rupert another way if you really want him so bad. Still pretty cool you got some free prizes that would have cost you clams to outright buy. 😉

No, the first day was not a day and a half. It was 24-hours if not less. It started waaay past midnight ET Saturday (I don’t remember what time) and ended a little past 1AM ET Sunday (when they changed it to 10PM PDT).

It sucks for those of us in the East coast when an update hits really late at night because many of us are already asleep. TinyCo really needs to do something about the time their update hits especially for a 4-day limited time event update like this.

I am working on BEGGING them to do it at least round 5PM EST. One of us has to stay up when it launches to ensure you get the info and try to see if any technical issues we need to jump on right away and alert them on.

Back to topic, I was hoping the Deaf Greased Up Guy would be the last premium character instead of Human Rupert (who, unfortunately, is unvoiced in the game and ends TinyCo’s streak of voiced characters). I hope Mayor West is voiced.
