HELP! Tips On Minion Stewie’s

Hey there all you silly Quahogians. I see lots of comments all over about those wanting a lil more help and details on ways they can trap and max the Pesticide Bomb potential when defeating Minion Stewie’s. Well I have been playing round a bit in my game and here are a few things I have tried that may work for you too.

Stewie Squid 2Latcher StewieMinion 4

These lil buggers are fast, unpredictable, and change direction in a moments notice. So just what is the best way to get the most of them as you can. Well two methods for me have worked best.

First up…Lines and Rows.

I have rearranged my town in portions to “direct” the flow of Minions to a relatively general location. Basically I arranged the houses, buildings, etc to line up in pretty lil rows along the front facing area. So it a was nice straight line. Then I laid another row the same next to it but not same length. Instead I laid a 3rd row at the top running perpendicular to the other to. Capping off the area. That way the Stewie’s would essentially come into the area and be forced into one way in, one way out. Kind of bottle-necking them.  This allowed me to corrall them in one spot and attack a lot at the same time. They try to escape at the bottom along the edge of the trees.

Minion Stewies (7)

It also helps that when you tap on them, they will stop as well as change directions. So you can tap on several at a time to keep them in one area while awaiting more. If some start to go away, just tap them once…and wait…they should change direction and come back. Remember…ones running away usually avoid the fog cloud. You want them going into the cloud.

This option is a bit more difficult and will vary on what areas you have open as the game will only allow the target to move so far to the edges of your screen before it can’t go any further. I would suggest just tapping it open and seeing where your limits are so you know the best place to lay out your plans.

Next…A Fun Maze.

This one works best if you are constantly clearing all your Minion Stewie’s and monitoring their Spawn times to know when more will arrive. Essentially the Minion Stewie’s all spawn on one piece of town. The sidewalks. So ALL are removed from my town but a very small square. Around that square I have constructed a “Maze” to direct traffic so to speak. (Also a note that I placed this in an area the game seems to open on when I enter.)

Minion Stewies (1)

I cleared out all the straggler Minion Stewie’s and then left the game for a lil bit. (20 to 30 minutes). When I returned, I got my trigger finger ready and waited. Sure enough…there was a puff of smoke in the lil spots the Minions were about to spawn on the sidewalks.

Minion Stewies (2)

Giving it a bit, I waited as the all followed the Maze I created and started running in a straight line towards the exit. Now if you have a lot, you will want to hit them sooner as only 15 will clear and the rest will run. That or make it bigger.

Minion Stewies (3)

Anticipating as they got closer…I zeroed in the cross hairs AHEAD of them and tapped the Bombs Away button knowing they were all walking INTO the cloud. 14 in one shot this go round. For those of you that never hunted before, this is essentially leading the target. You aim just ahead of them knowing they will movie INTO the shot. Also, hitting them in a confined area like a maze, even if they do try to run they are still too close to the cloud to get away from it.

Minion Stewies (4)

Minion Stewies (5)

If you do not do this as soon as they spawn…they will run off and you will have to find other ways to trap them again. So don’t just leave your game sitting open or you will miss the chance using this method. (Side note: Try not to leave gaps as they CAN walk through some items. I found the Lava Fence and Red Hot Lava Pit worked for me. Let me know if another worked for you.) 15 has been my Max so far. Haven’t been able to get more than that. So if a few run away…that’s ok.

FYI…this will also cause the Nerds to go round the maze. Made me giggle to watch. Easy to grab them all at once too. Lol.

Minion Stewies (6)

So both methods will take a lil time, patience, and rearranging your town here n there. But if it works for you…it is a fun way to get more for you Bombs and to help hit those goals faster. Let me know if this helped you out. Have any ideas that worked out for you? Any other tips you want to share with your fellow readers? Feel free to add them in the comments.

Last bit…this made me giggle. Most of you probably already got this by now or saw it and cleared it too fast. I just keep laughing at it. Probably because my Uncle is in THIS kind of line of work. I showed it to him and he burst out laughing. Then added… “So THAT’S why we’re watching you when you travel!” Well played Uncle. Well played. Lol.

  1. The fireworks help with the maze. I have a few fences and then started using fireworks and it seems to be working.

  7. I’ve been doing pretty good hitting the minions without rearranging everything. I removed a few roads to minimize where they were spawning, like near the water line and i moved a few buildings to create a clearing in the center of town. I’ve been averaging 8/9 at least this way especially once I figured out you could change their direction.

I liked the maze idea and set one up this morning after reading your post. Now I am getting 15 at a time. I used flowers and bushes to create it. I left exactly 2 squares between all the way around. So far the minions have been marching along without a care in the world or crossing through the “walls”. I’ve seen them walk over the flowers in other areas, though. I posted a pic to your flickr group.

    • I thought I got 16 once, but upon closer inspection, it was only 15. Hit bomb again & got 7 more! Before I used Bunny’s maze tip, I never saw the bombs go on hold! Now it’s deactivated regularly! Which is awesome because that means you got them all. Yeah, son! This is lulu’s beaming pride. 😉
Thanks, Bunny boo boo! You rock my socks.

I haven’t altered my town layout at all for the minions, but I happen to have a nice crossroads with no buildings at any of the corners, so I can see them coming from all directions. I tap them and keep tapping as I add more and more to the queue, and then when I hit critical mass I let loose with a bomb. A few usually outrun the blast, but I still get at least 6 or 7 a pop if I do it right. Sometimes the crosshairs don’t center where I want it to, and today I’ve had problems with the screen going black when I use a bomb, so I have no idea what I’m shooting at. I just center the screen in the middle of minions and hope for the best. I hope the glitch gets fixed.

  13. what i found helpful is i deleted all roads except three squares in front of peters house, make sure have some bombs when you leave the game.

when you first turn the game on quickly exit any popup and turn on the scope wait for the puff of minions being generated and bombs away. i got 15 doing this

the game automatically starts you wherever you place peter’s house

  16. My tip for the tiny stewies is…

    The 2nd option

I have built a hedge maze around one square of road and keep 3 or 4 bombs ready for them to spawn when I enter the game (max is 15 to one bomb)

The hedge maze is about the same size as the bomb spreads so it never really misses the stewies

Then I use 2/3 bombs one after another while they are still in the maze so it gets them all because it only takes out 15 at a time. then collect the bombs ready for next time.

I usually only have one or 2 running around now (if Iv been a bit slow on watching for the spawn)

    I hope that helps.

    • Just to add so it helps with numbers

My normal is 15 each with the first 2 bombs then maybe between 7 to 10 with the last (as Iv normally get a couple running around my town)

  21. Just a thought, but why leave a gap for them to get out? Why not just build a wall right around the chunk of road?

    Like

    • By leaving a gap it forces them to go towards it. I have found closing the gap more than likely causes them to find a way out…ie …they start walking through instead of a nice lil lines.

  23. I already had a bottleneck for the minions accidentally – I have two roadsystems in my Quahog, and they tend to walk from one to the other and back, right along a grassy corridor on the bottom. I just choose a point and tap on them, waiting for the minions to pile up. Usually I get between 10 and 12. Kablooie!
Unrelated question: with all the ways to earn Blam, I unlocked George Takei today. Should I keep collecting as much Blam as possible, or can I relax now? Just wondering if there is still something new coming? Thanks 🙂

    Like

    • Flowers? Trees? You just got to leave a wide enough space to make sure they can walk around the maze. At least 2 or 3 squares. Also, only leave one exit Like I did. If it don’t work…try smaller sized buildings and decorations. Just form something to block them in.

  26. I have been trying the tapping method. My biggest issue is that 1 of 2 things happens every single bloody time I get 6 or 7 of them. Either the game decides that my taps mean that I wanted the view to shoot the entire way across my time, making me lose all the minions or a pirate wanders in and they all walk off before I can clear the message.

Also everything wandering around my town seems to be pushing the memory on my Kindle, the game is crashing frequently now (2 or 3 times an hour). This event has way too much going on.

  29. How to create the maze? I checked my game but I don’t see anything.

    Like

    • You just use what decorations you have that are small and able to lay right next to one another. You can try fences, bushes, flowers…you could even use decorations or small buildings. Just what ever you have that makes it work. They can’t have any gaps, rows opening needs to be at least 2 to 3 squares wide to allow the minions to walk in the open area, and then just keep wrapping it around til you have an exit.

  31. I too tap them at the crossroads and hit average 7-9 in a bomb. Also, because of minions, my blam production has increased. Before I was absolutely sure I wouldn’t get to George Takei, but now I’m thinking I might

  32. Can you build the maze with something else?

    Like

    • These worked best for me. Other items may work for you. Try anything you’d like. Just have to make sure there are no gaps, at least 2 to 3 squares width for them to walk around between the rows, and an exit. I have seen fences, trees, bushes, flowers, etc. Even smaller decorations and buildings.

  33. i just watched my screen for a few minutes and noticed a spot where the minions all crossed no matter what line they were on. i usually get 8-9 each bomb just stacking them where they naturally went anyway. however, now i wanna try the maze thingy just cause it looks like a fun way to do it.

most characters stay indoors for tasks so they will be out of the way, though i got the cows running wild right now and wonder what it will look like with them all in one little spot….

    • and as a side note, i have seen a lot of ideas asking for something to attract the minions to group them together. if anything shouldn’t the stewie dictator statue attract them? it’s expensive but freemium and the minions could not necessarily stay put but maybe hang out for 5 seconds or so every lap around the field. would not group them all together but would make an easy spot to tap em till they pile up.

      just a thought anyway

  40. I just let them get into a cross roads, stun a few then fire. If there’s loads in my town I generally get a few that just walk in. Still I got George Takai this morning so I’m going to save all my bombs, pesticides and batteries as I have a strange feeling the next stewie may require them all. Granted though I could be wrong.

  41. Yup, like I said at the very beginning of the event, the Minions require wayyyyy too much micro-management, and this just proves that even more. I am far too lazy for this, so I’ll stick to Giant Stewie, especially since he makes more Blam! anyway 😉

    Like

    • The giant Stewie only seems to produce more blam in a short period of time. Since what you most likely do is make the boost go from. 1 – 25 in a short period of time. Specially if you let it reset after 18 count mark (As this is the most effective blam to pesticide ratio method). I used to think the same way and had the special chars focusing on the pesticide. But apparently, if you manage to hit these criters in bulk, it is more efficient with regards to blam production. If you manage to kill the 40 in 3-4 bombs every hour (and it is possible to get more than 40 in 1 hour if you check more often), that would be 600 blam per hour with each minion dropping 15 blam. Within 10 hours of hourly checking, that would be roughly 6k which is about what you would get for the giant stewie in 24 hours. Plus there are way more chars that could get you the bombs for half the time. I do still let BC and PS focusing on the pesticides and do Giant Stewie daily up to the 18 count part, but majority of my blam come from the minions. I jumped 40k in less than 48 hours.

      Like

      • I make 20,000 Blam! a day with Giant Stewie if I want because I bought lots of Learning Centers along the way (around 20 now) so you are dead wrong. Plus, the minions require MUCH more work, especially if you rearrange your town!!!

        Like

        • To be honest mate, I can’t imagine how you are making 20k from Giant Stewie in a 24 hour period even if you have 40 training centers. Can’t figure the math of how you could get all the pesticides for 20k in 24 hours. Unless you are spending clams to boosts your tasks and buildings.

Basic boost from 1x – 25x requires 41 pesticides. (1+3+7+12+18 (that is if I remember the count correctly) ). That would give you 5200 blam. And saying you have 20 TCs, they would provide you with the 40 needed above daily. (20 TC x 2 pesticide a day due to 12 hour cycle.)

For the next 15k blam, that would be doing the 29 count pesticide 6 times, which would require you to have obtained an additional 174 pesticides within the same 24 hour period.

          BC gives 4 pesticides every 2 hours = 48
3 celebrity chars at 4 hours per task = 18
2 hero outfits at 2 hours per task = 24
6 stewies zaps – 6 (minus the 300 blam for the zaps)

That would give you only a total of 96 additional pesticides. (Unless there is another method of getting pesticides I haven’t listed above). Even if you had the 40 TC like I stated above, that would still only give you an additional 20, leaving you with 58 more to find somehow. Plus let’s say the 20k includes, tapping nerds, blam obtained from said tasks and buildings, would give you a couple thousand blam. This still doesn’t include the factor of you obtaining the proper color needed all the time. And somehow, like you said, you are able to do this on a daily basis. Just wondering mate, which would be MUCH WORK AND TROUBLESOME, like you stated, rearranging my town for 30 minutes max and reap the reward until event ends, or waking up every 2 hour (lowest timed task) just to maximize my pesticide count on a daily basis.

Like you stated above mate, I am very much dead wrong.
