Hey there Minions. So a new update today in the App Markets. In order to get the info for the next Portal (Stay Puft), you will need to upgrade your device to this.
For those players on Android/Amazon, you will see version 1.3.5. For the iOS players, you will see version 1.3.4.
For Kindle, there will be the usual delays so hang in there. No worries, this just means you get to watch us all panic and find any bugs. So you will already have a great idea of what NOT to do. Lol.
If you would like to speak with Amazon …here are their contacts. Remember though, kindness goes a long way. Just “suggest” to them it would be fantastic if they could have their “approval process” for apps go just a tad faster. 🙂

hey happy tappers i just spoke to amazon and they say a 2-3 day delay for kindle users because tinyco did not release update to them yet what do you think of that i personally am not happy oh well this is the last update ill miss cause i am getting a new device tomarrow and ditching kindle thanks

well they appear to have nerfed the spawn rate. I got 1, followed buy 3.
So 3 stinks bombs got me a 1 juice box, 1 SV and tons of essentially useless candy corn. Yay.

working fine for me right now. Have 3 bomb makers making bombs – jerome, chris and bruce – will just stock pile those until close to 24 hour mark (just like our old harpoon tasks). Glad the 4 building to help make cleevlands outfit are all spirit vials and not clams – awesome help. So i started on the 8 hr carnival and one of the 4 hr ones for juice boxes. Everyone else is making stink bombs or zapping ghosts away.
there is a new pop up task for the stay puft instructional modal – i am holding off tapping that – in case it triggers the next challenge – to get the power grid. So far nothing that i have done has triggered that. But my guess would be to damage the stay puft marshmallow man x many times in 3 days (maybe 5 times). So i will just gather bombs and stockpile them.
hopefully everyone else will be able to connect soon. if not – just relax – you know it will come soon – no need to get all angry on tiny’s FB page – thats just absurd. Kinda like swearing at someone while driving your car – if you were walking next to that person you would never do or say such a thing. If you were in the same room with tiny co – i doubt anyone would raise their voices like they do on FB – it is easy to do when you cannot “see” the other person and there are no repercussions – it is really like bullying. oh well i will step down from Francis’ pulpit now.

FYI….You need to complete the quest “Trouble in Paradise Pt 2”. Collect 10 Marshmallow Goops by defeating Stay Puft to win the Ghostbusters Power Grid, so make sure you are ready for it.

Thank you – so will there be an update later that details the trouble in paradise quest line? Also does each strike on the body get goop – or do you have to hit all three body parts to get goop? I did not hit the tutorial yet – since i was afraid that that might trigger the next part.

Walkthrough will be up later. With a questline like this (Where you have to defeat him it takes us a little longer to go through it). Goop should fall each time you hit him. The challenge will not trigger until you’ve completed part 2…you’re safe to read the tutorial and click the ! over Peter after that. It won’t start until you complete part 2..

Is is possible that the 3 areas have to be hit in sucession, meaning no more needing the same item over and over and ending up with over 100 of one item that never gets asked for?
Because if it is, that actually makes up for this event re-using the same event system 3 times! 😉

When you update the stay puft man will appear and you have 24hrs to collect smores rockets to defeat him. So far on mine, Jerome and Chris have actions to collect rockets

Hi, I just updated the app and now 100% of the time when I start the app I get a “Connect Error! Could not connect to server” notification and the app doesn’t start. I’m on IOS7 and have tried closing and opening the app and restarting the phone. It looks like an issue with the app itself that started immediately after downloading the most resent update. Help!

Do not waste your money on clams!!! I purchased a bin of clams 7 days ago after portal upgrade and still have not received them. I have submitted 4 tickets to support and have not gotten a single response. I can understand TinyCo has probably gotten a lot of tickets but come on… No response in one week? Pathetic. Tiny Co is stealing.

I have my fingers crossed tightly that the traps for building latchers aren’t changed. I have a bit of a stockpile going in case there’s a questline step for trapping a number of them. I wouldn’t want to see another goofy trade in ratio. Same goes for the stink bombs I guess.

So was just in the game. Of course still a few minutes for the portal but noticed a few things. GBP Cleveland will hunt banshees. There is an Alien queen that can be brewed (no details on what needed). And there is also a fancy coffin for vials and a balloon store for coins. I’m sure there is lots more to come.

Off the topic but I haven’t been able to play my game in the past 4 days for more than 10 mins and it crashes. Today after the update (iOS) the game crashes after 2 mins of loading. I tried 4 times to report it but the game crashes before I can even type. Is there anything I can do?
Also, I feel like Mayor West is taking forever to level up.

We have reported of the “appearance” of slow leveling. He will get there. No worries. It is supposed to take time. There wouldnt be any fun if a character was maxed quickly. No drive in the game in that. 😉

Hoping there’s a Stay Puft and he’s big and walks around. When I was working to funnel ToTs to an area it ended up that they all go through a row of palm trees and out into the water about 5 blocks and “swim” parallel to the beach until I have them coming out into a maze. It would be funny to see Puft make that trek. 🙂

Didn’t know where else to post this, but is there a max number of quests you can have open at the same time? I don’t have enough clams to buy alien after I got predator (and I really don’t care to have him), but the quest is just sitting there taking up space. Is there a way to remove it so I have room for other stuff?

There is not. For me…my MAX seemed to be 14. Then I had to take some down to make more come up only by completing them.

This new update still doesn’t give Android 5 compatibility (app freezes once Quahog appears). I had to load Bluestacks on my Surface Pro just to keep playing. It’s slow but it works…

It is due to the file system. Android 5.0 a.k.a. Lollipop runs ART (Android Run Time). It was introduced with Android Phones with Kit Kat and was available to those who have developer options, e.g. Nexus devices and some others. The old file system Dalvik runs everything fine. I’m surprised Google allows the game on their marketplace being non compliant with their file system. Even more shocked that TinyCo still hasn’t fixed this, been a few weeks now since this problem started. I had to revert my Nexus 5 to run Dalvik I’m very upset about the ignorance behind this issue. If this isn’t fixed and more devices start running Android 5 OS, this game will dwindle off Android devices. I know in a week or two and my phone gets the Lollipop update, I’m definitely installing it for the features. If it means no more Tapped Out, that is just what is going to happen.

I get you want to use your new phone right away, but allow them the proper time to do what is necessary to allow the proper functionality. As you pointed out, this has a new system and is a beast. There is a lot more to it than the push of a button. MANY apps are going to have to try and find a way through it or around it. It will not be simple. 😉
I am sure they will figure out the proper things that need to be done soon enough. 🙂

ART and Dalvik are runtimes, not file systems. The game did work under the L Dev preview (using ART), and it worked very well most times, but that was on API 20. After Google put in changes (API 21+), the game just wasn’t playable in Android 5. Not sure what they changed, but it broke something in the TinyCo code.

Lol. I do know it takes time with new devices to be able to be compatible with the apps. Not sure what tweaks TinyCo needs to make, but in talking with them or “hangin out”…Lol…they do try all they can to make them work together. I am sure we will hear more about it later.

I should know by now that you guys are very much on top of any updates at least as soon as the rest of us lesser addicts are.
Looked at the portal upgrade counter and made sure everyone would be done with their tasks by the time it was upgraded this evening. I’ve been putting my non-SV/item-earning people on 12 hour tasks most of the time. About halfway to the spirit vials needed for Mr. Weed, and 3/4 of the way to the banshee tears needed, but I’m sure many of them will be used for things from this next update…

storing unneeded characters is a good feature in this update

In my update description it says I can store characters. Anyone know how to do that?

It may take a day or two for it to completely go into effect. If you tap on the character, like you are going to send them on a task, you will see right under them their name normally. If the store feature is complete in your game, you will also see the inventory storage icon next to the name. Tap on it to store that character. Complete post coming up on this. 🙂
