In this lil game of ours, it is easy to get lost and so focused into collecting items or unlocking characters that we tend to forget the lil things that make the game what it is. Like Where the HELL did these items come from and why are they in our games?
Well I am here to do just that for you. Let’s take a look at the Family Guy Series and find out just Where The HELL Did That Come From?
In this post, I will be covering the Origin of Freddy Krueger. Why is he in our game? Where did he show up in the Family Guy Series? What on earth is another scary movie character doing in our game? Let’s take a look at the TV Episodes to find out.
Freddy is actually talked about/referred to in two episodes…
Season 7, Episode 1: Love Blactually
Brian refers to the way a girls costume looks at a party and asks if she is one of his victims.
Season 9, Episode 1: And Then There Were Fewer Part 1
We learn that Tom Tucker went for the role of Freddy, but James Woods convinced him to back out. (Also where the main theme music comes from.) “I booked the lead role in Nightmare on Elm Street, but James Woods said Oh No, don’t bother something else will come along.”
But we do get to actually see him in one of the episodes…
Season 8, Episode 19: The Splendid Source
Chris got in trouble at school for telling a joke he learned from Quagmire. Peter goes to Quagmire at the Clam and asks him to retell the joke to him and the other guys. Apparently it is so funny Peter poops. Joe and Quagmire now find this as an amusing way to make Peter continue to poop his pants over n over n over. Quagmire even goes so far as finding Freddy in his dreams and paying him to tell Peter the joke so Peter will poop in his sleep. It works. (You can also see the Furnace in the background of this episode.

I’ve been playing since the beginning but I didn’t get Freddy at around 21:20 he was in my inventory and I was super happy. At 22:00 I went on my second game and I checked in my inventory and he wasn’t there. Do you think I just got and extremely lucky and TinyCo patched it straightaway?

I have all four weekly prizes and the fifth one I have just completed and haven’t received it nor did I receive the ecto-1 can any one help ?

Check all over in your inventory. They hide there in the oddest of places.
Then once you place the skyline…ecto 1 dialog should pop up

By the way the puking pumpkin is actually a Cleveland show take. Halloween episode where Jr dresses as a pancake, brown house got tp – ed when they arrive home pumpkin says I saw it all man in between puking.

I think it’s kinda funny that all the characters in the game have funny lines to deliver, but the lines they gave Freddy are sound clips directly from the 2010 movie which are pretty dark. Not complaining at all, but think it’s hilarious that they stand out to compared to the other characters. I do wish they would have used Robert Englund’s voice with some of his classic lines (“I’m your boyfriend now Nancy!”; “Welcome to prime time b****!”).

I was hoping for Michael Myers or Chucky to come along before the end of the event as a premium seeing as they gave Freddy away. Still a few days to go though. You never know with this game it’s full of surprises. Really enjoyed this event, but hoping American dad will have different things to do rather than being another re-use of same old ideas.

i think i mentioned this elsewhere but you’ll notice all the horror characters they added have appeared on the show at some point. i doubt thats coincidence…so i imagine its easier getting the rights to something they already had vs. going for someone new like Chucky or whatnot. not to mention they already had the designs ready as well so that saved time i’m sure.

Not really. You have to realize the TV show was originally ran by FOX and they got the copyrights for it. This game is ran by TinyCo, so they have to go through it ALL over again to get the rights for their company from FOX, the creators, the voice actors, and anyone else the rights to the show/voice/character licenses have been copyrighted to since then. Not as simple as one would hope. Hence the reason some things just don’t have a voice or the voice is limited to ONLY words from the episodes. 😦

Well, even though this game is RUN by TinyCo, and not Fox, it is still much easier for them to acquire the rights than it would be for some game company just cold calling the relavent talent. They already have an “in” at least, so it is a warm call.

I was tasking my characters and noticed that you can store them in your inventory. Why would I ever put anyone on “ice”? They all earn money even if they aren’t involved in gathering stuff or doing event tasks.

Whoops, I Freudian slipped my previous post. I was going to say that Freddy is awsome. I love the outside animations he has. Especially the one where he slices of his nose, ear, and popping out his eye. I do wish they voiced him better, even on full volume on my device his “whispers” are barely audible.

Yah…new feature. Some people won characters they just don’t like or want to see in their towns. So…option to tuck them away is there. Came with this event. 😉

It is probably also useful so that they can tell people to just store characters when the game is running slowly instead of throwing more resources at it 🙂

Meh. I have proven google wrong many of times. Wiki’s too. I am OCD when it comes to information. Want to see it for myself. So I will still go and rewatch each and every episode to make sure it is accurate info I am passing on. I have issue. Lol. Frakkin Addict. 😉

Ever consider having a Wish list forum?
Then Family guy addicts can post things they wish Tiny. Co would do with the game, such as,
Events they would love to see.
Characters they would like to see added.
Decorations they think should be added.
Character skins they think should be added.
Etc Etc
Could make for some fun discussions.

A Nightmare On Elm Street was the first horror movie I ever watched, and is one of my favourite horror movie series, so I love that I now have him in my game, I just wish that they could of used Robert Englund’s voice instead of the one they did use. As a huge horror movie fan I ended up buying all of the premium characters in this event, and I hope that they add in a joint action between Freddy and Jason.

Love Freddy! Wish his voice was a bit louder, though. Also wish his tasks actually dropped something. He’s probably the darkest character TC has added considering he doesn’t have particularly hilarious tasks or hilarious one-liners like Jason (I’m probably in the minority that likes that Jason talks). I wish Halloween didn’t have to end so we could get more terrifying characters! Really wish we got Michael Myers, though. Also would be awesome to get Jason’s son involved in a task!
