FYI…UPDATING WILL NOT STOP HALLOWEEN EVENT. THAT DOES NOT END TIL TOMORROW. ONLY NEW FEATURES ADDED WITH THIS.
So what cool new items did this update bring to your game? Let’s dive in.
FIND CARL, WATCH VIDEOS, EARN CLAMS
(There is an issue with Android on the video they are working to correct, until then just wait a bit before being able to watch videos.)
First you will need to have unlocked at least to District 2 in order to get this option in the game. Once you have, if you take a peak around the Griffins, you will find Carl hanging out. If he is there, make him watch videos for a chance to earn some Free Clams. There will be a limit to this of how many you can watch daily, so if you do not see him you may have reached that limit and will have to wait til another day to do so.
NEW STORAGE INVENTORY TABS
This is something I personally requested for TinyCo to incorporate along with other players. A better way to see your storage. Well TinyCo has listened. They have introduced a more streamlined version of their Inventory…this time with tabs. Woohoo! So now you will be able to find those items tucked in there much easier.
STORE EVERYTHING
Another of my personal requests I was hoping they would initiate in the game along with other players. When you got a lot of “Stuff” and want to rearrange it to make your town look cool, it takes a LONG time to do so. Well TinyCo has once again listened to its players. The DECO or “Move” screen will now have the option to store everything in your game.
We of course will have a more detailed look and report on each of these cool new items. In the meantime, make sure you go to your App Market and download the latest Update for the game. Then keep an eye out for this and many more cool things to come.

Family Guy Addicts 
When nuking my town, will it store the Brewery as well? I’d REALLY like for my characters to stop getting brewery craftable items since I’ve crafted everything possible. I’ve tried just storing the brewery manually but the game won’t allow it.

It will not be able to be stored and you will continue to get drops until you make ALL items in the Brewery to their “Limit”. In other words tap on each one and the information “i” to see how many of each you have to make to get them all.

If you look at your app market and it says 1.4 version. You have it.
Finds characters? Not sure what you mean there. Unless you are talking about the feature from a while back with the characters icon in the top left corner of the game. That you can only see if they are not on a task.
As far as the nuke option, as this post points out…not all games will have all 3 options just yet. Mainly everyone has at least the inventory tabs. Other than that…the rest will eventually update into all games, for now…some still do not have them.
Just check to see if you have 1.4. If you do, you’re good. 😉

Games a blast,not to many issues if ever on the iOS side. My only gripe is that I wish they would turn in game currency for clams, instead of actual pocket cash. If possible, please share

Dunno if anyone else has mentioned this, or if its even new (because I don’t remember seeing this at all before) – but apparently we can now scroll through all the tasks at a location to see what all is going on there instead of having half of the list (if there are many people there) cut off of the screen.

Every time I try to nuke my town, my game freezes. 😦 I am on android so I am just going to wait for the carl/update buggyness fix bunny said is coming. Anyone else having this issue? I really want to push the big red button!!!!!

Does it freeze? Or does the icon turn dark? If so, you need to wait a few minutes for all of your items to actual collect. If you have a ton…it will take a bit longer. Just allow the system enough time to wipe out your town. (I know if feels like forever) Once it is done, it will take you back to your empty Quahog 🙂

Are the people who aren’t currently receiving Carl due to the glitches going to be able to receive as many clams as those who already are able to watch the videos? I feel like I’m always getting screwed out of clams and other in game items because of glitches and game crashing issues.

Don’t stress over it. The clams are few and far between anyway. It’s not like it’s spitting out hundreds daily. 1 here or there. Once videos watched, he goes away for a while too. Hang in there. You’ll get your chance. 😉

I updated my game yesterday and still no Carl. Ive already started the clam fest quest but he is no where to be found. Does he spawn in random places or is it always in one spot?

Did you check the app market and check to make sure your device is on the 1.4 Update? Outside of that…it is going to take a couple of days for all devices to completely update the new features. Especially Carl.

Correct. As notated in this very post you are commenting on…right under the info for Carl…issue with Android. Mainly Samsungs having biggest problem with video, but across the board Android devices. So you won’t see option til resolved.

Hey guys! This is my first comment on the site and I just wanted to say you guys are the BEST!!! You work so hard to keep us all up to date on the new material of the game and we all greatly appreciate it!!! I’ve been a huge fan of both the game and the addicts site!!! =D
Now on to what I was going to say-Bunny, I love how you asked for the inventory to be organized into tabs, I also had the same idea! And I’m glad to hear other players have as well! It’s so funny how a lot of us think alike 😉 Also, love the nuke idea, I can’t wait to be able to reorganize my town!
Here’s another idea that I have to kind of go along with that-I think it’d be great if there was a way for us to “save” our town! So, if it so happened that you nuked your town, then started rebuilding, and hated how it was coming out and just wished that it could be like how it was before, you can just “load” up your old town arrangement!! Now I don’t know a thing about programing and what not so I have no idea how difficult it would be to get that kind of feature installed, but I think a lot of people would really take advantage of it! I would really love to hear your thoughts on my idea as well as other people’s thoughts!!! =D

As for the “save town” option. A few others have mentioned it too. I see a coding and server nightmare with it. As 1 player game becomes multiple games. Lots of ins n outs. Still a cool idea. Feel free to drop it and anymore over here…

I am beyond terrified to do the new update because I see others saying they can no longer load their games after the update. I don’t know what to do because I don’t want to get locked out of my game. Should I just wait for a second new update? =/

It is more due to TOO many people rushing to get it all NOW. So the servers get overloaded and no one can get in. You just have to give it time. Think of it as rush hour traffic. Sit and move 1 mile every 10 minutes vs driving freeway speed outside of rush hour.

Don’t see Carl? I don’t see an update in the “google play store” either although I think it updated automatically for me as I have a different thumbnail graphic with the American flag in the background and also I have the nuclear option which I used to clear things out in case he was hiding behind a building. It sounds like this update has already been sent out to Android but not sure. Maybe with Halloween ending I’ll get it. Anyone else having issues??

I’m just going to say I’m thrilled american dad is the next event. I was sort of anticipating a week break or so honestly but ill go ahead and jump on in with this. I’m very excited. I love both shows. I’m ready for this next few hours to speed by! I’m beyond ready for happen to be done!

Just a quick note on the update and issues with the video. Since installing the update Carl has not appeared in my Quahog at all. I sent a ticket to TinyCo about the issue. Appears this may only be affecting Samsung users for some reason as I have gotten questions back from TinyCo about if I am on a Samsung device and other related things of the nature.

Hey everyone! I was playing today and got the update. I watched one video and went to go tap on my clam. I got the clam, but Carl went away. One clam surely can’t be the limit, can it? Will Carl reappear? Thanks.

It varies per player so…no. Just tap him as many times as it lets you til he disappears.

If TinyCo is reading this: I’m having issues buying stuff from the store. I was trying to stock up on those big brown trees and other plants, but when they’re selected and placed, no spirit vials are being spent and the items placed are actually coming from my inventory.

That is very odd. Did you try to force close out the app, restart your device, and try again?

It’s normal to place things out of your inventory first. If you want to buy more of something, you have to place all of what you already have first. (Doesn’t apply to the cauldron etc, just store purchases.) Of course it’s too late now anyway. 🙂

Try to force close and restart your game. There may also be a mad rush on the servers as everyone is trying to get in last hours. I have been in playing just fine.

Personally I disagree that American Dad is funnier than Family Guy. Yes both hold a lot of 80s references, and I live that being a person who is 39 and grew up around the same time as the creator and writers of these shows, however American Dad has a slightly more conservative humor. They seem to want to make it “edgy” now. Its already Edgy in its separate ways however. I love everything Seth has done except The Cleveland Show,I hated it.American Dad being the one I like second best. I even loved his movies.His sense of humour is so similar to my own I relate well to most of his creations. I just think Family Guy is best of them all so far, thats all. That being said, I think including American Dad characters into TQFS, is a wonderful thing and looking foreward to it once Halloween ends tomorrow. I would “shell out” clams, for those additions. I hope some are permanent ones. Unless Seth plans on a second A.D.themed game all its own, then they may not be. I hope they are though!

I agree about The Cleveland Show and I really have rarely enjoyed American Dad all that much. I’ve thought it odd because of how much I like Family Guy. Personally, my second favorite of the major “adult” cartoons has always been Futurama.

The new “nuke” your town feature is awesome! I redecorate and move things constantly in search of a unique style, because in games like these all towns tend to start appearing the same, but I try my best. This Nuke feature will certainly save me hours of wasted time in the future! thanks Tinyco. Another thing we desperately require is more sellables in storage! All holiday items(all Holidays I mean) ought to be sellable. Any items we get with couns should be sellable for coins also as far as decos- not just trees etc. Also please please incorporate a way for us to sell high end clam items for clams back, even a lesser amount? Or a way to sell really costly coun items in trade for 1-2 clams? This will interest everyone, who likes clams and eventually needs to clear some storage.

I completed and brewed the vampire duck stewie costume and my game crashed and I can’t find him in my inventory and when I go back to the cauldron he is locked. Also it crashes when I have my characters do a task or kill the marshmallow or try to brew something. My spirit vials are disappearing. Is anyone having this many issues with the halloween theme?

Try to force close your app and restart your device and check the inventory again. (They have it all nice and sectioned now so charcters should be easier to find). If still nothing, contact TinyCo.

I had the exact same problem with Mr weed! Eventually he DID show up in my inventory. But I had to send my first ticket in to tinyco.

I really like that they included tabs for your inventory. Makes a big difference!
I do wish however that they would allow you to sell/delete items. Some of them you can’t sell (mainly because they’re from previous events) and I really have no use for them but cluttering up my inventory.
Seems doable coding wise.
I enjoyed this event. But I also enjoyed the previous one (comic con). Yes, there were more different kinds of ‘creatures’ in this one, but I thought that Comic Con was diverse enough to be enjoyable. The many many crashes convinced me that it’s not always worth it.
So TinyCo, don’t feel the need to keep increasing the complexity of events. Performance is more important, and the Comic Con event was already diverse enough and fun.

The main issue of selling Event items is there will always be that “I accidentally sold it” issue that players seem to run into. With Limited Items, there is not a way to put them back in the towns. Not how TinyCo has set it up. So to prevent that, they opted to keep them from being sold.

I really appreciate the nuke option (although perhaps a Chicken option would have been more appropriate).
I have often found myself wanting to put everything in storage and start over (like when the trick or treaters challenge was going), but couldn’t when I remembered that this wasn’t Tapped Out. Glad that’s in.
Hope they get Carl working on Android soon.

the trick or treaters end? My town still has tons of them running around and Halloween ends in a matter of hours. Howd you get rid of them am I missing something? I hit fright level 10 max, and unlocked most items and all characters added during etc. Whatd I miss? Is it because I do not own Cleveland and so cannot unlick his ghostbusters guy?

I have a great idea to expand the usefulness of the Nuke option that maybe you could pass to TinyCo…
Wouldn’t it be really cool if you had 4 or 5 save slots in the game that saved all the information about your town as a save file on your phone – where the roads are, where the buildings and decs are, which skins are being used etc. Then you could save your current layout just before you Nuke your town and experiment with something else.
I’ve spent a lot of time on my town and although it would be fun to experiment and maybe have less buildings to improve performance when I’m mobile I couldn’t bear to give up on my current layout. If there was a way to save this information to revisit at a future date I’d happy Nuke my town.
This would be really useful in events – save your ‘normal’ town but then create an ‘event’ town that’s got less in it. Then when you’ve finished you Nuke the town again and reload a previous version, you can then choose what event items to incorporate into it from the Inventory…

Useful to us…I see it as a coding nightmare to them. All that data, I do not think it is possible. My opinion anyway.

Well that depends how the game is coded – sometimes when my game loads I see cogs while the buildings and decs load, so clearly somewhere in the script there is a grid reference for what items are where, and this presumably is what is uploaded to Facebook to allow you to play your town on other devices. By Nuking your town you are just clearing the grid and putting all unlocked items into inventory. So if you save that grid info locally all you would be doing is nuking your town (which is probably the hardest task coding wise) and then placing inventory items back in an order predetermined by your save file.
The only slight coding speed bump would be if you have sold something you previously had placed in an older design or if a character was on a task in a building so it was locked, but I’m sure they wouldn’t be that hard to overcome depending on how the grid info is saved – even if you have to wait for all tasks to be complete before it lets you load it so it can do a full nuke and sold items could just be skipped to leave a blank space.

For me…seeing what happened with a separate game we write for too…I just see TOO many possible issues with it. Too much more space required on their servers to save an alternate game version.
But…you never know. TinyCo is pushing a lot of new frontiers.

Yes it fell and i collected it but that was it… After it disnt show in inventory or als i chexked the box again and she wasnt ahown as a proze to collect

You have to buy consuela just getting the outfit doesn’t get her for free, then if you tap on her like to assign a task and swipe over to the new costume, you should be able to create that
