Hey there Minions. Bouncing on by with some answers to a lot of questions we are seeing pop up all over the site. Hope this will help you to get some clarifications on them all.
So here are the main questions we have been seeing over the last week and wanted to help you with the answers.
WHEN DOES THE AMERICAN DAD EVENT END?
December 4th, 2014, approx 3PM Pacific Time. (We know there was a pop up saying Wednesday, but TinyCo opted to give everyone ONE MORE DAY!! WOOHOO!)
WILL ROGER BE UNLIMITED TIME LIKE THE OTHER SMITHS TO UNLOCK?
Yes. Just like the other Smith Family Members, you will have plenty of time to unlock Roger. As long as you have got to Part 2 of his questline, placed and completed the build on his ship, and have began collecting items for him.
WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE KLAUS CHALLENGE AFTER THE EVENT ENDS?
As long as you have started Klaus’ Challenge BEFORE the American Dad Event ends and the timer on him is counting down, you will have until that time runs out to try and get him by unlocking ALL the Smith Family and Roger. So if you start Klaus on the 3rd, you will have until that timer runs out to try and complete it, not the end of the event.
WILL ANY OF THE AMERICAN DAD ITEMS CONTINUE BEYOND THE EVENT?
Outside of the characters you have unlocked or are collecting for and buildings/items you already won or purchased and are in your town…anything else goes once the event ends. (Like the Smith’s house, fences, etc)
ARE THE FENCES $750?
Yes, this is not a glitch. The White Picket Fences are now $750.
WILL FAT LOIS’ QUESTLINE CONTINUE?
Yes, you can keep following her questline after the Thanksgiving Weekend is pulled from the game on Dec. 1st. Only the main Thanksgiving questline will stop.
UPDATE BUNNY: I reported Big Boned not continuing, they did push a fix…so you should see it trigger now. 🙂Â
WILL ANY AMERICAN DAD QUESTLINES CONTINUE?
Any quests requiring items from the American Dad Event will be pulled from the game at the end of the event, as those items will be gone and the quest unable to continue on. The main questline for American Dad will stop too.
WILL WE GET NEW LAND?

Hi all I was just wondering if I can use the quest bar or click on the paintball gun and then click have Stan do target practice to use Stan without triggering the Klaus timer. this way Stan can help collect items instead of just walking around.

Well that was a nice glitch. I’d already started the Klaus timer and it ended two days ago. Then just now Stan randomly showed up with an exclamation mark over his head, and it was this same quest. Having already gotten Roger, I instantly got Klaus. Thank you, TinyCo. I take this as payment for not giving me that Stewie’s dressing room thing during the Sexy Stewie event or even replying to me after I messaged about that error.

Hey i didnt manage to quite finish the american dad family in time to get klaus but when i just signed in stan had a pop up saying i did it and theres an animated klaus decoration but now i cant find it anywhere? Any help?

Hopefully soon – I have none of my people doing anything since I know as soon I start tasks for them, Christmas will hit – I’ll start some timed event and won’t even be able to do anything until my people get done doing what they are doing (like waiting 16 hours for Rogers ship to build before I could even start collecting his items… and then missed getting Klause by about 16 hours.)

Is anyone else having trouble unlocking Francine? I cannot get the muffins yet I have unlocked Roger already. Its like I’m stuck on 5 out of 10. It’s uncommon and yet I got all of Rogers epic scarves.
I think it’s annoying with all the uncommon, rare, common, epic etc.
Just stick to 3. Common uncommon and rare.

Just in case anyone is wondering:
You can only STORE 98 white picket fences but it will let u keep getting more and will seem like they’re going to inventory but inventory will say 98 still. My point being, you’ll b wasting ur coins if u plan of STORING more than 98 cause they just disappear into air when u store em.

Anyone else getting a fatal game error when they tap Francine or her icon in the finder: “Config empty for id mistletoe in Drop”? I assume it has something to do with the Christmas event as it updates on our devices.

I am very confused. I just got the game two days ago and am eager to get as many characters as possible, but this event is ending soon. I already have bought the barn and car for Stan and Francine so from what I understand, I won’t lose them even though I did not technically ‘unlock’ them yet. Will I still be able to get Rodger after the event ends without even starting it yet? I expect to be able to buy Hayley and Steve by tomorrow…

You have to buy and place them before the event ends. If the event ends and they haven’t been purchased in your town you wont’ be able to get them (but you’ll have unlimited time to unlock the characters you did buy)

I thought Claus was going to be an interactive character, not a decoration. I’m having hardcore regret for paying $4.99 for clams just so I could finish in time to get a small, crappy decoration. I have enjoyed playing this game until recently. It seems like majority of the tasks require a purchase of clams. I don’t mind paying for clams occasionally. They do deserve to make some money for all the work they’ve put into this game. I just think that making Claus into a tiny decoration was a bad move.
Also, why is it that majority of the characters do not earn collectible pieces during the events? What’s the point of spending the time (and money) to collect characters if I can’t use them to speed up my progress?

My Klaus timed challenge ended last night. This morning, I suddenly got the last items for Roger when I haven’t gotten any in 2 days! Anyone else have this happen? Its a little bit frustrating, but since Klaus is just a decoration, not too big a deal. I just wish Roger’s questline would continue after the event!

Same thing happened to Me. Especially with the Uncommon items. I got all 3 epic items before I was able to collect all the common items. I cry foul. I should have gotten Kraus bit now I won’t

I got my last Roger item about 16 hours after the Klaus timer ended…. WHICH MEANT – If I could have started rogers collecting when I got the Klaus task, I might have been able to make it – but since the Klaus timer started and THEN I waited 16 hours for Roger’s ship to build – I also did not get him.

I got all of the Smith family before the time ran out yesterday and it said I got Klaus but I haven’t seen Klaus anywhere. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. I checked my inventory and didn’t see him. I was fixin to get mad. Then I saw a suggestion to force close the game and restart my device. Tried that and Klaus appeared in my inventory!

Sorry if someone has already asked about this, but when I place the white picket fence in my town, it just looks like a hole dug in the ground. I believe I still have enough space on my phone, so I was wondering if this was a known glitch?

Seen a few others state this. Mine show up in all my games. All I can suggest is try the basics and report it.

Stan has a 1 hour task at Rogers Place in my game, but he goes to the Smith house for it, I don’t have Rogers place. Is this a glitch likely to be fixed? Would hate to lose that task slot.
Also, I’m considering buying Rogers Place if the tasks it unlocks are worthwhile. If you have it in your game, does Stan use it instead of the Smith house for his 1 hour task, and can you tell me how long Roger’s and Hayley’s associated tasks are please?

Stan does not, but Roger does. However..you don’t see Roger’s action. It’s a neat deco (I have it) but honestly might not be worth it in the end….

Like the post you are commenting on states, as long as you have their “building” they came with complete and the bubbles over their head collecting items… you can keep collecting.

If only I had came on here and checked before I built the ship. Still think it was a bit dumb for the timer to start before you could even unlock roger. Ah well, lesson learned in time for the christmas event.
Other than Klaus, I really liked the American dad event, Its basically been like a new district, I didnt really have to rush for anything, just let it all happen. Lots of people seemed to get overwhelmed by the weekend events but I seemed to unlock them all with plenty of time to spare. Beside the main events are normally way busier than all of this put together haha.

Only need 3 more boxes of wine for Roger and I have a chance to get two more before the timer end on getting Klaus. if I get the two I can possible get then I think it will be worth it to spend the 15 clams to get my last box of wine. Considering the other stuff is way more expensive I think that 15 clams is pretty reasonable to get Klaus.

Yeah, me too – I got that last box of wine for Roger, and now there’s like three ‘tasks’ for Roger now that he’s unlocked….but no Klaus!!! Will he pop up after the 3 tasks??

Oops, I found him….he’s “archived” on the “earned/bought” inventory as mentioned…hafta click on the four-pointed arrow and then the download icon and there he was at least for me…yay

I was wondering if the building “Roger’s Place” is staying after the event ends, as I don’t have enough clams for it right now but I did notice that it’s a task that’s locked for Roger. Can you tell me if it is worth buying clams to get it now?

It is a cool looking decoration. That is all. Stan, Hayley, and Roger all have a task there…so it is used. But nothing visual. All “inside” tasks. No animation.

Thanks for the info, I didn’t even notice other characters used it too. Do you know if it unlocks the new task with a length of time not available without the building? Also I was wondering, I just unlocked Roger and as he isn’t at level 2 he can’t continue the Questline The Alien inside of me part 4 yet. Does this part of the storyline just end if not completed by Thursday?

Most questlines will go as they require items you ONLY can get during the event. So they would stop anyway.

When you send a character out on a task you get a list to choose from, some tasks are 1min others are 24hrs, so what i’d like to know is, if I buy the Rogers Place building, what is the length of time that the task that becomes available to Roger and the others is. Is it a 8hr task or a 12hr, I ask because I hate it when 2 or 3 of my characters have tasks that are off time. Example Kool aid man doesn’t have any task at 20hr but some characters have multiple 1hr tasks. I would use clams to buy it but only if it offers a task time that Roger doesn’t already get from unlocking by leveling up. 🙂

I regret buying it. The detail is good, but I expected it would be animated to show Roger working the bar in his comedic way. If it were, I’d pay at least twice as much. It is also a challenge to make it fit well among buildings, even next to the huge Smith house.
I’m going to send a suggestion to TinyCo for the future.

I hope that we get an American Dad event every year so that we can slowly get some more AD characters such as Jeff, Regenald, Principle Lewis, Barry, Jack Smith, and Avery Bullock (would love to see a task between him and Patrick Stewart). Are there any other AD characters you guys would like to see added to our towns?

Just to clarify something that I probably missed. As long as you place the items to unlock the characters (I still need to build the spaceship and place Francine’s car but the are both available), you can keep collecting after the event? Will the CIA agents continue to spawn (I still am trying to collect signs for Hayley)?

Yes, as long as the item the brings them into the game is COMPLETELY built and they have those lil bubbles above their heads to start collecting, you are good to continue beyond the event. As far as CIA Agents, no word on if they stick around. I assume they go with the rest of AD stuff.

There’s a building that drops signs (and a task from Stan, as well, IIRC), so the CIA agents aren’t required. If they do stick around, I imagine it would be like the FrankenRupert Box, where it’s only for a limited time.

OK my son got almost everything for Roger right off the bat, so for the last 2 days he’s only needed one box of wine and one boa. Now he’s only got 4 hours left and no chance for wine. We’re really starting to feel they are forcing us to buy clams… Any thoughts?

It is all up to chance. Completely your choice. You need to think…is it worth it to YOU to have him? Is it worth those Clams? Months from now will you still be happy with the purchase? You are NEVER forced. It is all personal choice. You have complete control over your game and what items you want to buy. Don’t let panic guide your judgement. Think it through clearly. Is it worth it? 🙂

I dont understand one thing on this game. I have 20+ Characters unlocked, on only like, 6 or 7 are ever actually useful. They need to bring more characters into the fold of usefulness. Cleveland, Freddy, Jason, Predator, Alien etc.

This is pretty common in most app games to have major characters playing major roles. We see it all the time in the OTHER game we write about. Lol. They are slowly sneaking in the others though here and there. I think that is cool. Old buildings too. 🙂

Yeah, but in that OTHER game you don’t have to collect items by sending the characters on the same quest over and over again (ok the Halloween Trick or Treater Challenge was different in that respect).
Currently, I have like 20 idle characters but need Bonnie to collect Muffins AND wine boxes (both don’t seem to drop a lot). I also have Lois to collect Muffins and can’t afford to play the Fat Lois questline…
They should at least distribute the rare (and above) item tasks better among the available characters. Picard’s brother on earth does own a vineyard, so why not have him collect wine boxes.. 😉
And Klaus was the first timed challenge I missed. *sigh* But having not seen one single episode of American Dad ever, I guess I’m gonna survive it. 😀

Just curious, did the clone machines stop spawning clones? I haven’t noticed them around. Chasing the little buggers around to collect $5 each was actually more of a hassle than it was worth.

If they spawn, I will mash them; if not, I won’t. Doesn’t really matter. I was just curious if Tinyco indicated one way or the other what was in store for the future of these types of spawns — limited time “mash em ups” or permanent additions to the game? I can see how making them permanent additions could cause issues as more or different types of spawns are introduced in future events.

not sure what happened, but i unlocked fat lois, and there is no quest line at all. then i unlocked all the family guy characters, and Klaus is no where to be found. Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong? PLease…

Looking into the questline as I was told it would go on…seeing if issue (it was just a teeny 3 part one).
As far as Klaus, check your menu on the side to make sure its not still there counting down and ALL smiths are unlocked in Face Space (no one is greyed out). Then check your inventory to see if he’s there as thats where he is placed when you win him.

Today I got my final boa. Pretty much got one everday except for yesterday, it was way easier than I was expecting. With only 3 boxed wins to go, I took Stan out of storage and started the Klaus challenge. I love that I’m getting Klaus, he’s awesome. Considering that I love American Dad a lot more than Family Guy and that I didn’t have to spend clams on anything (I did buy the Smith House, cause it’s an iconic AD! location), I’d consider this event a huge success and my favorite so far.

Well I just finished Roger. I did as you told us and didn’t open Stan’s quest line until I unlocked Roger but as it is, I could have done that AND gotten Klaus anyway within 3 days.

Lucky you. So far I’ve got one each of the boas and the pecan sandies, and enough box wine that getting the rest by Thursday shouldn’t be a problem. And in all that time I’ve gotten a grand total of 3 muffins, out of the 6 I still needed when Roger popped, with Lois and Bonnie doing nothing but. At this rate, I may finish Roger before I finish Francine. Either way, Stan’s going to be walking around like a paranoid Metal Gear mook until Thursday afternoon. Good to hear that Klaus will still be available as long as the timer is running…

Still need 5 wine boxes, not helped at all by the fact that Bonnie was still gathering muffins for unlocking Francine until recently. I should likely get roger before the event ends, but will not likely have time to do much in the way of quests for him if those are going away Thursday. A lot of things I like about this game but that is a major annoyance, the characters you can’t unlock until late in the event so there isn’t time to do their quests in the event.

Roger was by far the easiest for me to unlock. Only took a couple of days. Hopefully that little piece of land they opened up earlier isn’t all the land they release. That’s just enough to aggravate people more. They need five times that

Kind of off topic, but I believe I have missed some characters and skins since I didn’t start this game until early October. Do you know if any of the previous event stuff will ever be available again? For example 80s Cleveland, human Rupert etc

That is all up to TinyCo. It is usually best to make suggestions of items you would like to return to them right from your game.

I gotta say this is one area where TinyCo just doesn’t get it and really kind of grinds my gears. You state that all the AD quest lines end (including the main one) when the event ends yet the Alien quest line which can’t be continued until you get Roger (which contains EPIC items) ends. If they did the math on the quest line (which contains a 24 hour task), it could barely be completed if you got Roger immediately after building his spaceship. This was the same thing with the Consuela event with all the long tasks when that disappeared with most people in the middle of it. Never mind the fact that there is a quest line for Roger about running amok that hasn’t even started for me and I have Roger. Why establish these quest lines if there isn’t even a reasonable chance to complete them? I was told the reason for ending the Consuela quest was that there were deco items that were pulled so people would have been halted and I guess I kind of get that (although I had purchased mine ahead of time so I was fine), but neither the Alien nor the Amok quests have AD decos that you need to place that might go away. If they want me to play the quest lines, at least give me a fighting chance to complete them! I don’t need the coins (have over $2M), but aren’t the quest lines what is fun about the game? I love reading the character conversations leading up to collection. Maybe you can use that special relationship you have with TinyCo and let them know. I have written in my in-game comments already but that is slow due to all the people sending messages about drop rates or game crashing so I am fearful they won’t get to mine before the event ends tomorrow. Completely agree with this – it takes away a lot of the fun of the game if you spend ages grinding to get something and then have the storyline taken away from you once you finally get it…

Exactly 24 hours after my quibble yesterday about no box-wine and boas, I managed to get 2 box-wine and 1 boa within that 24 hours. With 11 hours left to unlock Klaus, I am sure the last 4 box-wine and 1 boa will drop soon… maybe 2 at the same time . I love that South Park is episode more now.

Has anyone else found that the wine boxes for Roger simply do not drop? I do not mean occasionally, they do not drop at all. I have been working on Roger for close to 2 days at this point, between his ship and missions I have attempted to earn them well over a dozen times. I have 1 wine box and that came from Roger’s Place (which I caved in and bought in a moment of pure weakness). No chance I can get Klaus now.

Im having trouble too. Been 3 or so days and I have all the boas but only 3/10 wine boxes. They dropped within the last 12 hours or so as well. Accidently started the klaus quest and mine ends in 11 hours. No way can I get him without spending clams. Id like him but since hes only a decoration hes not worth the 105 or so clams to finish roger in time
the boas on epic were easier to get than the box wines on rare

Yep, my timer is under 9 hours now and I still need five wine boxes only. So far the ship has given me two and the (shouldn’t be eight hours for rares) tasks for the two ladies have given me three and I’ve run them continuously. I refused to buy Roger’s Place. I also won’t spend any Clams for the remaining boxes to get a fish in a bowl decoration (that doesn’t belong in Quahog anyway).

I believe it was stated some time back that the in-game logic artificially lowers the difficulty of hard-to-find items after a certain number of failures. In other words, you’ll get more items toward the end of the quest than the beginning. That seems to be the case in my experience, at least. Wish it were the case for easy items, since my only way to get pecan sandies until I break Stan out of limbo or unlock Francine is to hope they drop from CIA HQ (which is how I have my one so far).

That is correct. TinyCo made a change in their item drops to help players out. So if an epic item is NOT dropping, each failure after a certain point moves the item up to a higher probability of a drop the next time round.
In short…keep sending same person over n over to get an item as the chances get better each time.

Any idea whether that is the case for task drops only, or do building drops and NPC-clearing drops follow the same rules?

Most buildings are ALWAYS. Those that are not, kinda follow their own rule. With the NPC, I notice that the MORE of them you have…the greater chance of a drop or MORE than one drop. So I like to stack them and hit a lot at once. Similar to the Minions, Nerds, Trick or Treaters, etc. Hit a large group and payouts seemed far greater odds.

I don’t believe it. Lois too 5 times to finally drop that last muffin to unlock Francine and Dr. Hartman getting an ER item to unlock Tom is like 8 tries to get one. I’ve been trying to unlock Tom pretty much since this event started and still need 3 of that item left to unlock him.

I’ve managed to unlock the entire smith family before Tom and I’ve been at him since oct. Toms stuff just doesn’t drop

Do you know if they have to be done consecutively over and over? Or on a short 2 hr or 4 hr task, can you do it a few times, then stop, and do an 8hr task overnight (to gain more XP and level up the character)?
Does the 4 hr task ‘remember’ its past drop history?
