Hey there Minions!
While we “patiently” await the arrival of the Fine Arts District, it seems they are playing around with a few things back at TinyCo. Many players (myself included) are seeing Carl (Originally showed up in the American Dad Event) pop in n out of their games. 
He usually pops on the sidewalk as closest to the Griffins as possible. 
So far, no videos for me on my Android device… but definitely sparks some interest as to just WHAT else they got in the works don’t you think? 🙂
I did try it out on my iPod Touch instead and was able to activate a Video.
Just a bit over 30 seconds preview for Last Man On Earth. 
Then when all done, 2 Free Clams award. So give it a try if you can. 
What are your thoughts? Speculations? Let us know.

So I went and stupidly spent clams on Carl , and it has him checked off at the concert tent but it still says on the encore stage that I haven’t gotten him yet!! Where is he?! I would write to TC but they still haven’t responded to my 3 previous problems I’ve inquired about.

Check your Inventory. He is placed there. Just go to the Event Tab or the Characters and he will be there.

I just got a message from support and they told me that “there aren’t enough videos” for all players. So some players can’t view them and they are working with the video provider to resolve the issue. I understand their explanation but I don’t buy it. I play, on average once an hour, and there has to be something else going on if I have been able to watch exactly zero videos in a week and a half.

I can see it. Millions of people all try to click on the same item at the same time. I have been able to get a few here n there. More luck on my iOS than Android. But I did get 3 of them.

As it is something outside of the game and not guaranteed in the firatnplace, I don’t see them doing anything. But you never know

as Carl suppose to get 2 clams per visit, and for me i see him at least 1 per hour, so if i click on him 12 time each day 24 clams and after that times the days we can’t get anything

I dont even bother anymore, carl is a joke on android. I have 3 family guy games on 2 devices (one allows for multiple user profiles). Didnt have a single video work with american dad, and so far the exact same thing this time.
I’d rather them restructure the game so it isnt so horribly laggy on new devices. The Simpsons tapped out isnt nearly as fun of a game, but it is massive in comparison, can have much more going on visually, and never any graphic lag like this gets after only a few districts open..
Still, i enjoy the game enough to keep playing and buy clams on occasion.

I am one of the many players on Android that has never been able to view any of the videos. I had sent an in-game msg to TinyCo, as Bunny previously suggested, and finally received a reply back today. They basically said they are aware that there are still players who unable to view the videos and are currently investigating this issue. Also said they passed my msg on to the Engineering team and are hoping for a fix soon. I was happy to get a reply back and to hear that they are actively working on it.
Everyone who is unable to view the videos should contact Support, so they will have a clearer idea of just how many players this is effecting. And to assure they stay on top of this issue, until it is resolved.

Carl still not working. I’m in the UK and we often miss out on these things but Carl did work back when he first appeared for the American Dad promos.
Yesterday he did start with a message about a show on FOX at some time or other but it quickly changed to the no videos available message, that was a bit cheeky.
Jesus just paid out for the second time in a week, so I’m still getting some free clams, can’t complain really.

You see the “Watch Video +2 Clams” like in this post? Watch the Video, see the thanks pop up, but do not notice the 2 Clam difference?

They dont respond since i have asked to for a refund due to the fact the game is inplayable if your using an Android device. Same issue as last with Carl he shows up but notta!

99% of info on this site is provided by Android devices myself and Alissa play.
If I run into a memory drain (which happens on many games) that causes lagging and crashing, I try steps below.

This just reiterates what I said before. Tinyco programmers are Apple fanboys. When will people learn that Apple’s products are overpriced unsecure garbage. Check out headlines the last few days about Apple’s Apple pay fraud that’s going on. They blame the banks. Lol! But I digress…I know better than to report this issue to Tinyco’s helpless desk aka Helpshift run out of India… they’ll say it’s a Samsung issue. Guess it’s sit back and wait for the programmers to get there collective heads out of their butts and give us our pittance in the paltry 2-4 clams we’ll get before they take it away again. Sigh. Whatever. WoW and Xbox are starting to look better each passing day.

Awww quite a harsh post here don’t you think. I actually met the guys from Helpshift…at where they are located… in California. 😉
As for what they prefer… if they were all over Apple, why was the game made for and only released on Android? iOS did not come til later. Android is supposed to have the feature too. NOT just iOS.
Maybe keep these kind of comments reserved more for the What the Deuce post and look a lil more into a Bigger Picture of things before passing judgement? 😉

You are exactly right. And to tell you the truth they actually prefer android. I know that because when it was released on beta i actually talked to matt, one of tinyco’s tqfs staff and he said they had no plans back then to release on iOS. Secondly not all iOS devices have had a video. Every time i get on i click ok on him but no free clams or video. I do agree with the help desk through. It is very poor. Im still waiting to hear back from them about a glitch that happened at the start pf valentines which ended up making me miss out on cupid by 400 homemade vd cards. I reported it but i doubt ill hear back until june. Seems to be the trend.

Just a bit of side note. Helpshift does NOT control the help desk. It’s all in house and all at TinyCo. All helpshift did is create a program that provides the “help” section that makes it possible to interact with TinyCo. All messages are still handled by TinyCo. All updates added, changed, and removed by TinyCo in the help section. That’s almost like saying Microsoft Word controls the help desk. Lol.
EVERY THING is at the hands of the “maker” so to speak. All TinyCo. Lol
Yes still room for improvement by TinyCo on help side…that will come with more employees basically. They are as their name says…a tiny company. Nothing like the game monsters out there with thousands of employees at each call center worldwide. TinyCo has the one n only spot. In time…I see it getting better. For now, we will continue to be a support as much as we can as they try to handle thousands of messages Daily.

I love this game but have ti agree tinyco gas horrible cystomer service tge took back about 200 clams even though i paid for them and of course 2 months and 2 tickets later i have yet to receive a response.

Not that 2 clams is a big deal, but its annoying to see him when I know he isnt gonna work. But I have to click him in case they fixed him, but so far #sadtrombone…

I have Amazon Fire Phone. I saw Carl twice. The first time I got two clams but no video. The second time I got the video and the two clams. I haven’t seen him since.
He might be gone now that the Fine Arts District is around (it wasn’t when I saw him).

Well, they acted on my request to have Carl back in our towns pretty fast 😉
Sadly the vids aren’t working for me yet, iPad2, UK. But looking forward to working on the new district when my crew finish their 24 hour tasks tomorrow morning. I know you’ll have it sussed by then with all the info we need. Sunday release though – wasn’t expecting that. Does TinyCo chain their staff to their desks?

I thought Carl was a “Family Guy” recurring character. I’ve never seen him on American Dad. But speaking of American Dad, I’d like to see more characters from that show on the game, especially Deputy Director Bullock since I have Sir Patrick Stewart in the game already. That’d be kind of funny with them two having an interaction.

I am so glad they are continuing to work on this as it never really worked for me on my Android device, when they first implemented it. I loved the idea back then and still do! Hope they can work out all the glitches!

The first time I logged in today he was there, but had nothing for me. My cat started acting insane, so I went and dealt w that. Within 10 minutes of logging out and back in, he was there the second time and had some advertisement for some movie on Fox tonight. I don’t remember the movie or what time.
