How To: Unlock Fine Arts District Land

Hey there Clammers!

I am seeing a lot of comments popping up with players not being able to unlock the New Land in the Fine Arts District. Figured I would hop on by to help out and possibly offer some clarification to it.

Fine Arts District Locked

Let’s take a look at the steps you will need to take in order to be able to get to the point of unlocking the New Land & Fine Arts District in your Quahog.

STEP 1: MEET REQUIREMENTS FOR DISTRICT

Every District released requires you to be at a specific completion point within the game Questlines/Walkthroughs in order to be able to progress further. For the Fine Arts District, you first need to complete Wild Wild Mayor West to Part 5. This was a questline from District 9. More info HEREWild Wild Mayor West Part 5

STEP 2: COMPLETE NEW QUESTLINE REQUIREMENTS

Now that you are far enough in the game, you will see a New Questline trigger for the Fine Arts District. This will be The Great Plutonium Heist. It has a total of 4 Parts. Once all 4 Parts are completed, you will launch into Away We Go. That will have 2 Parts. When both Parts are complete you will finally jump into a 3rd Questline, Dance Hall Days. This is where you will actually start to see the chance to get the new land. Full Questline for Fine Arts can be found HERE.Dance Hall Days Part 1

STEP 3: UNLOCK THE DISTRICT

In Dance Hall Days Part 1, you are directed to do two things… Clear the Land & Build Olivia’s house. To Clear the Land, the Fine Arts District MUST be unlocked. This means either using the “GO” feature in the pop up for Dance Hall Days Part 1 to go to the land and tap on “LET’S GO” to unlock it.Dance Hall Days Part 1

Fine Arts District

Or, once you trigger Dance Hall Days Part 1 go to the top portion of the land closest to the sea, tap on it, and tap on “LET’S GO” to unlock it. Again, this will ONLY work if you completed the prior Steps.

STEP 4: CLEAR THE LAND

If you are successful in Step 3, you should see a pop up letting you know you have now unlocked the Fine Arts District. The land will have changed from a cloudy fog covered area, to now a more misty see through area with Clearing Icons (Leaf Blower) on each of the 3 available sections. Fine Arts District Unlocked

You will need to clear ALL 3 of these New Land sections in order to progress further into the dialog. The cost is $18,000/ $20,000/ $22,000.

If you still do not see Step 3 and have met ALL the previous requirement then force close your game and restart your device. When the device powers back up, go back in the game and try Step 3 again.

Hope this helps to clear up any confusion on this portion of the Fine Arts District and unlocking the new land. Did this help you? Do you already have the land unlocked? Did you have to restart your device to get it to kick in? Let us know.

  2. Thank you so much I was opening blocks all over the place trying to figure out what I was doing wrong there is no clear place whenever I click go it would take me to Brewery and tell me to hold on

  3. How do I start dance hall days part 1? I cleared the block and built Olivia’s house, completed all of the missions to unlock Olivia except for the saloon. The blimp is gone and no other mission has come up. Help!

  4. I am stuck on Dance Hall Days part 1 because I cleared all the blocks and there is nothing else for me to clear. I didn’t see this walkthrough part until today.

    • Ok so sorry. I kept scrolling and scrolling and found an answer. I just hit go a couple of times and clicked the fog that I have never noticed before lol. Too much going on in my town I guess.

  5. So…who’s gotten Olivia? I got her and am busy trying to level her up for some required tasks, oh yes and more blimp rides to come.

  6. Thank you so much I sent my blimp out three times for nothing it was so frustrating. Thanks to your help I just tapped the land and it unlocked yay!

  7. I was getting a tad annoyed not receiving anything when sending the blimp out so thought’d I’d have a little google. On the quest as people have said above when clicking “go” to clear the block Peter tells me I need to clear the surrounding area first. Didn’t occur to me to tap on that area anyway but then it let me unlock it so I’ve wasted a week or two for no reason 😦 Only had Mayor West for a couple weeks so was thinking maybe I had to have him complete something else first!

    • haha, you’re not alone! I sent the blimp out maybe 5 times and finally googled what the heck I’m supposed to do! Never occurred to me either – sad that all I had to do was tap “let’s go!” to start this whole thing out. oh well! Live and learn!

Still no go. Is this a bug I should report? Any suggestions? Thanks for a fantastic blog. One of the few places I turn off Adblock.

    • Same thing happened to me. If you just click on the grey patch of land it should give you the popup for the district that says “let’s go”. I think it’s because you need to technically “unlock” it before you can start clearing land. Hope this helps!

I’m still clearing land on Dance Hall Days 1 but had 13 plutonium & the yellow tick appeared above the blimp. So I pressed it, the blimp sped off, came back & nothing else happened. Did I just waste my plutonium?????

    • In a way. Fast forward tasks with Clams. I suggest Carter’s if you REALLY must do it as it is only 4hrs and less cost. But again… this is meant to take time… I HIGHLY suggest to not use up your precious Clams for a District. Your Choice, just my two cents (or carrots. Lol). 😉

  18. I didn’t notice that the cases were different from the plutonium Meg dropped lol silly me! But my Meg no longer drops it…it was prison Meg stealing Lois’s shirt I think. It could be because it was just to unlock something a character or the blimp I can not remember. FINALLY I have some new stuff to spend all these coins on! What is this ice bike? Anyone know…I purchased it anyway. Maybe they will let more characters do tasks to drop plutonium at some point. I only have 1 right now 😫 I wonder if they are going to bring Nigel Pinchley and his daughter in game? Or maybe Bertram??? I’d LOVE to have Bertram

I wouldn’t mind rarer drops but more people collecting (same overall rate) but I think this is fine too. Glad it’s people that generally aren’t used in events.

But come on!!! Do you really feel the need to defend/make excuses for them everytime someone post a neg comment about the way they run THEIR game.

Since when is MY point of view an excuse for someone else? Are you saying that MY opinion does not matter or has no merit? Seems kinda harsh don’t you think. Makes no sense at all. I have been gaming my entire life. Since I could get my hands on an Atari joystick. So I offer MY opinion and MY Point of view from a place others may have not seen or experienced.

I have been behind the scenes on all different aspects and levels in the Game Industry (No not EA or TinyCo… unless you count me meeting them). Know many close friends still in the Industry. Have many friends that even run their own podcasts and rundown of the Industry. Not to mention, I ask a LOT of questions. So, I share it on our site … the “BIGGER PICTURE” that people may not see. They don’t have to like it or even agree with it, but to abuse it is just mean.

That is like going to a 5 star Chef and telling him he is siding with the Hostess Factory for offering an Opinion on a Twinkie he ate. One has NOTHING to do with the other, but one may know a LOT about the other and due to that may have a lil more insight on the subject.

Those finding their way to the waste bin are more than likely cyber bullying, spamming, promoting hacks, TOO much profanity, or direct intentional vulgar behavior (see TinyCo FB page for examples. Lol). All things against the Guidelines. 😉

However, this is their site and they are human. They often do not agree with the decisions TinyCo makes; Bunny and Alissa are both CONTINUOUSLY VOCAL with TinyCo on OUR behalf! They fight for us; the players!!! So, even though you may not always hear what they have to say, again on OUR behalf, they say it, before most even think of it!!!

  21. My only complaint with district 11 is the staggered task times for plutonium. I wish they had perhaps made them all 6 hours (or even 8). I also think they started out as common as because 13 is the number of times a day the plutonium can drop, but 4 days was just to short of a time.

Also maybe having incidental quests might be a good idea. Something like a 20 step repeatable quest chain that might pay off a clam after say at least a week of keeping characters working on specific tasks. It might lessen the bored factor.

    Like

    • They are slow coming at first, but I noticed a slight increase today. I got two instead of one.
Bottom line, it is a district and it is here to stay. As the game progresses, each level is meant to be more difficult, as it is in any other game out there.

      Like

      • I wasn’t complaining about the drop rate so much as the staggered task times. I totally understand that as a district there is no time limit. I just hate having characters done with tasks longer than it takes to retail them.

        Like

        • I think it gets explained from a past event. The longer the task, the likelier you are to get a drop. I know they are few and far between, but my more successful drops have been from Tucker finding his keys and once from Carter and his abuse. I keep sending West off on fool’s errands because I’m in a hurry, LOL, so he’s been busy regurgitating rafts. I am so used to zapping him off to do that from the Brewery that by the time I’ve realized what I’ve done, he’s already barfed up a dinghy, LOL
          I’ll get it straight, yet.
BUT, I digress, during Christmas Lois was seen to have two tasks for the same item, one two hours longer than the other. Tinyco said, then, that opting for the longer task might prove more beneficial in the long run as it was ‘set’ to kick out the item more often.
I think that’s proving true in this case, as well.

    • TinyCo actually accidentally had an repeatable questline that repeatedly droped 10 clams, as you suggested. It was recently during the new Years Event. The New Years Eve Tower would drop 10 clams when you collected enough items from several characters to drop the NYE ball. This was part of the quest, but there was a bug that allowed you to put the tower in inventory, and take it out again and re-collect the items for another 10 clams. Unfortunately, TinyCo sent out a fix and ended that. Quite a few people on the list mentioned the bug and said they had earned the clams a couple of times. I really liked that, and think it should be a permanent feature, as you suggested.

      Like

      • ahhh, yeah I had won 10 clams at least 3 or 4 times from that NYE tower. I was bummed when they had fixed it LOL 😐

  22. For me when Dance Hall Days started and I clicked go to complete block it took me to the left most one on the water and after I cleared that the task was completed and I was able to move on. Did not have to clear all sections. Maybe it was changed this was a few days ago.

      • SavoryCook, there are two purchase for clams that any player; Preem or Freem, should do with their won clams. One is, as you mentioned, to pump up your blue collars. The other? Buy the Family Jewels, they are often are needed for character/skin unlocks. I think this is the best advice I’ve ever got when I was new to the FGA Fan Site. It saved me struggling on more than one occasion.

  27. so basically, everybody has to HAVE EVERYTHING COMPLETED UP TO DISTRICT 9, (including District 9)!!*_ 🙂 ….To me honestly, I had NO confusion whatsoever. I always just keep in my mind that you have to work you’re way thru everything and then there shouldn’t be a problem at all to getting to the new stuff.
only subject I had questioned to myself though was “The Great Plutonium Heist”, I had some deja-vu because I thought I had already cleared that questline like a while ago. maybe thought that was the last part of District 9.

  30. The odds of getting the plutonium cases makes for a boring game. 3 players and a chance of dropping them. My husband has gotten 1. I have done a bit better but only having to half to go into the game every four to eight hours makes you forget about it.

It took a few goes before the Fine Arts District box came up and then it was ok. The other odd thing was the prompt to build Olivia’s house. As the land wasn’t cleared, I just put it in the normal play area. Its different to the other districts.

  34. I understand the confusion. We’ve never had to take these actions on previous parcels of land to unlock them. The leaf blowers are always just automatically there, or there’s a character waving to be tapped on. Poor effort on TinyCo this time round…

    • I think it is TinyCo’s way of having people slow down a bit. Not just rush through Districts and then complain they are bored again. They want you to enjoy the effort and work they put into the game. Always introducing new methods and ways of doing it.

      • I get they are trying to get people to slow down but I have been lucky with my plutonium drops as they drop almost every time. My friend, however, has only got 2 plutonium rods in 2 days. I have just completed the 2nd time travel. (I did speed up tasks up until land clearing as I spend at least £120 a month on this game) Every task but two has dropped plutonium. Even doing so well means I am bored. This district is almost as bad as the last one. It feels like the game is getting more boring (my friend struggling to get plutonium is so bored he is on the verge of not playing anymore) as tasks are long, there are less quests & we don’t have characters other than Olivia to get. TinyCo need to release districts where we can get several characters, more buildings & a LOT more quests (like the districts before Brewery District). I have had at least 16 friends, who all spent money, stop playing after finding this latest district not much better than the last. As I have spent a fortune & still have 7,000 clams (yes I spent over £2,000 on game) it worries me as even I am less interested in the game. TinyCo need to put more effort into the districts as I, personally, will stop playing if the next district is as bad as this one. Barely any quests, only 3 characters that drop plutonium & long gaps with nothing to do. It seems strange I got 26 plutonium in the same time my friend only got 3. I am losing faith in this game and now play my TSTO game a lot more. What started as a great game is now slowly deteriorating. I wish TinyCo would make the districts as good as the previous ones before the brewery district. They don’t even reward us players who buy premium characters. I think there should be 3 premium characters with tasks dropping plutonium in addition to the other 3. That way more people would buy the character & the ones who spent money on them in the first place would be rewarded. It’s just good business sense!

        Like

        • Barely any quests? Did you see the run down. It was a TON of quests. Huge page of them.

I honestly think that if this game was only high paced all the time, we would see a LOT more players getting burnt out. Not everyone can spend all day everyday in their games and there needs to be a balance for both sides. My opinion anyway. 😉

As far as premium characters…they have been adding them back into the mix. Just last event, Premium characters were helpful. They do still need to go a bit more, but are getting better.

As for the OTHER game, I remember this EXACT kind of response just last summer when people were “Clashing” they were bored to death. Can’t please everyone, so there is a variety. 😉
