As much as I enjoy this game ( and spent some actual money on it) the crashing continues to plague me. Go visit a friend after Ollieville it will usually crash. Click on too many buildings for XP/coins it will crash. Too many characters and unchecking them to start new quests often causes crashes as well.
Got a galaxy S3 and never had issues like this prior to the bitch Stewie/Brian event last year. Granted it has gotten progressively worse since then. Wifi or not seems to make little difference.
I understand the “Work around” is to have fewer buildings and things out that are animated. Considering that I spent actual money on some of these virtual items this isn’t an option for me. Couple that with less buildings out means less XP/coins too?
Understand Tiny Co is a small company as well but they need to find us a better solution. Love Family Guy and the game….but my patience with the issues is beginning to wane.

Sadly high activity games like this one require a LOT more wiggle room. I run into this issue in many new games out there with “a lot going on”. That’s why I offered the tips. As a helpful tool for others experiencing same as me. I am on a GS4, but still have the issue on all the games I play on it, my tablet, my iPod. It is a fine balance you have to do. Decide what you prefer… all the extras or a functional game. 😉

Heya Bunny! Long time viewer of this site and thank you all for making all this information available to us! Wish there was another option to removal of items I won/bought to make things more stable. Good to know that Android and Apple devices have the same issues though.

Just a quick one out about this one:
Apps these days are designed by people who haven’t been in the software business very long. Back in the day the software industry didn’t quite know exactly how to properly administer content and it took years to fine tune. The same applies today. Google has been making attempts to somewhat do so; however, they’re only just starting to make some headway. The short and skinny of it is that very few administration techniques are being followed, such as Minimum System Requirements, Graphics processing power, ratings systems, etc. TinyCo falls into this category as a company producing apps without long standing knowledge of the mistakes made by their industry as they too are new players. The game crashes are due to a general lack of knowledge about the OS in which they code. Android is a Linux overlay; thus minimum requirements would be that of a Linux machine running the same hardware. Apple’s iOS for mobile is a stripped down version of their Mac software. The issue is that the software they program on was assigned minimum system requirements for a pc running Linux thus the software development kit (sdk) is issued by Google with a disconnect as to what the requirements would be for anything other than an android version. As mobile devices don’t all run the same hardware, this generalization has lead to app crashes by the less than Linux savvy app makers. The fault lies in a lack of deployment knowledge, not necessarily crappy programming. That would be on the shoulders of the app producer who needs to target this. So, in TinyCo’s case, the crashes inadvertently become the fault of one person. Until they wake up to this, it will continue to happen. End blurb.

Hey addicts so I just finished the third round of collecting plutonium for the blimp to get the triceratops, activated the blimp…no triceratops OR plutonium in my blimp. What the hell!? What a terrible glitch I wouldn’t mind but it takes forever to collect plutonium, so now I’m really behind getting Olivia again and wasted my time, I’m actually wondering if it’s even worth trying to get plutonium again for it in case it happens again. Just wondering if this has happened to anybody else on here and if there’s a way tiny I can sort this for me? Kyle

Did the questline prompt you to send the blimp or did you send it without the questline telling you to? The questline is what will help bring the items back…if you send the blimp with out the quest telling you to it won’t work. Also, double check your inventory to make sure it’s not in there.

Ah maybe I did it too soon, definitely not in my inventory though 😦 it’s probably because it didn’t say to go back in time to get the triceratops and I just did it, that makes sense thanks for that.

I just got a new phone and now my family guy crashes ever 20s it’s so annoying. I’ve stopped playing this whole weekend in cause it crashes so often. Is tiny co doing anything about preventing crashes? If not I’m gonna discontinue playing, which stinks cuz I’ve collected so much 😦

The Simpson’s game used to have the exact same issues. They were able to fix their game and it rarely crashed now, why can’t TinyCo do the same? I have an LG G3 with 3GB RAM (some of it used by the OS of course, but should still have plenty left over for the game) and I can reboot my phone, load nothing else, play the game and crash it in 10 seconds. Sometimes waiting for a bit after I collect items before scrolling on the screen helps it not crash. So IMHO this is game is poorly designed. If TinyCo isn’t able to program proper memory management into their game (seems like a larger buffer would help since the game crashes more frequently when a bunch of actions have been performed in quick succession), then they shouldn’t release a bunch of decorations and then tell people who paid for them to keep them in storage. I LOVE this game, but it’s getting more and more frustrating to play every day and I’ve had to 1 star it on Google Play for that reason. I encourage everyone to do the same and maybe TinyCo will put some resources on fixing their crashing issues instead of more special events (which I love, but I’d rather have a few less and a non-crashing game).

I understand your frustration, but as I have an eye behind the scenes on both games… I can tell you that even TSTO STILL has crashing and lagging issues as well. It really all comes down to that Memory drain on these highly active games and us as players pushing the limits of what our devices can handle. Since launch, TinyCo has made a LOT of changes to try and combat that. TSTO has been out 3 yrs and still struggles with it too. I had my game shut down for 3 months on TSTO for pushing those boundaries too far. I had WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many items in my game.
All I can suggest is to use the tips I offer to help combat it, and try to not push those limits too far. Especially when a high paced/highly active Event hits to drain even more from the memory.

I used to have a Galaxy S3 when I first started playing TSO and it crashed all the time. Then after some patch, it started to rarely crash (it might still crash on me once a week). Not sure what they did differently, but it works. Still rarely crashes since I upgraded to the LG G3, despite it having a lot better specs. But I can live with once a week vs. every 20 seconds. A lot of people are complaining about not having enough land in Family Guy to show all their stuff and some people think that TinyCo is limiting the amount of land because it would make the crashes worse. I’m thinking that if we had a lot more land and could spread out all the items, then the game would have to render less objects at a time (which would use less memeory) which I would think would make things better. I’m not an Android game programmer or anything, so these are just my thoughts, not actual knowledge… I just hope they figure out something soon.

I wonder if “advertising” is the reason Koolaid Man doesn’t have a high-hour task… It would make him appear to the player more often; therefore putting Koolaid more into the mind of the player.

Anyone notice the commercial for the Star Trek event that aired during the FG episode last night? They showed in-game footage from INSIDE the Enterprise! Looks like Tiny Co is changing things up.

There’s 1 more time travel you have to do with Stewie and Olivia. After that the blimp will disappear, as will the option to get plutonium. Follow the questline it’ll guide you through it

Ever since I got Jesus in Christmas event he’s dropped clams on average about 1.5 times a month. Past three days he has been 3/3! No complaints here.

I think, to help with the collection of candy, we should be able to bust piñatas on our friend’s pages (or worlds or whatever they are called). That would be way more useful than 30 coins. I have been getting candy on the reg but hats? Not so much. Oh well. You win some, you lose some. Maybe if we don’t get Spanish Peter this time, he can be brought back for May 5th.

Any who, I’ve had to work everyday since the launch of this Telenovela event, including Saturday & Sunday, and am SO behind, esp with the candy. Only have 12 candies so far:( Just crossing my fingers that wiil get Spanish Soap Opera Peter in time.
I’m exhausted and now I gotta go cook and clean my house. Ugh chores. Hoping to find time to relax later and catch up on blog posts and maybe find some tips to help me get these freagin’ candies. Haha

i’ve been outta work for a while until recently…..this was useful for this game and the Simpsons one but yeah, now that i’m back at work…i am suffering majorly on here. can’t come on as often and do as much….so that means i shall inevitable lose out on cool stuff, especially if there’s a timer or end date involved.
i’m pretty sure i won’t finish the telenova stuff or get Peter’s new outfit. but its okay, as long as the Star Trek update goes well for me i’ll be fine. 😛

So I went to Primanti Brothers today, I have family in the Pittsburgh area and this was the second time I have eaten there. And I am gonna say, I don’t really like it. There is just something about the vinegary Cole slaw and the fries are just really dry, the whole experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. The loaded nachos were really good though.

Honestly, well I’ve never even been there myself, but I have heard lots of bad feedback instead of positive…I just don’t see what the big hype about it is Lmao. Now I live in northern WV so Pittsburgh is directly to our right I have my whole dad’s side of the fam living there as well. As of now down in Wheeling, they just put a new Primanti Bros. restaurant I’m guessing so people don’t have to take the trip up to the ONLY other one in the burgh !! 🙂

I don’t what they changed in the game, but every 5 minutes I get a notification to “Come Back” to the game and when I do, there’s nothing to do. At most a few buildings need collection. Really annoying.
