Hey there Clam Seekers!
Many times as we are Playing along in the game, we wonder “Can I get FREE Clams?” Well, YES! You can! There are so many places around the game itself to earn Clams For Free, it is insane. Many places you may have not even noticed.
Overtime I was slowly compiling a list of places the Clams appeared, but recently was approached by one of our Readers here, Russian Tigger, with their take on all the Free Clams they have earned just by playing along in Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff. As I love to share thoughts with you outside of just mine and wanted to give you a run down of Free Clams, I thought it would be the perfect time to share Russian Tigger’s breakdown. Take a peek below and feel free to share your Free Clams results you have got to date too in the comments.
FYI, if you are here looking for Cheats or Hacks to the game… WRONG SITE! Please refer to our Addicts Guidelines for more info. 🙂
FROM THE BEGINNING
In the Tutorial when you first open the game, you are awarded 5 Free Clams just for completing some Tasks with Peter and Chris (one Clam is used to get Chris Socks).
More and more continue to drop during the game as you go through the District Questlines, Events, Collect Characters, and on n on n on n on n on. So many that it was an ever growing list I had. Here are a few District Questline examples…
District 3 (this was per play in 2014, let us know if you saw different)
District 5 (this was per play in 2014, let us know if you saw different)
To give a perspective from someone other than Me and My own game… let’s take a look at Russian Tigger’s Free Clam progress as they’ve played through the game since they began May/June 2014
RUSSIAN TIGGER’S FREE CLAMS!
There’s Clams in that there Game
Following on from my leaderboard musings I’m back for more, but this time I want to tackle an issue close to all our hearts, clams, more precisely free clams, the legit type you get from playing the game. I often read in the comments that players feel TinyCo is a little mean when it comes to clams and I know there can sometimes be an issue where players games show clam spends but no clam purchases. This occasionally confuses TinyCo’s cheat sweeps as it isn’t coded to know where these clams came from and if like me you’ve built up quite a few this can see your account flagged as suspicious causing you to be banned from leaderboards etc. But I know for a fact they are working on trying fix this for future events so let’s say no more about that just now.
Anyway I thought since I have nothing better to do with my time I’d put together a post showing how I got my free clams and ask how many my fellow addicts have built up since they started playing. I certainly got a pleasant surprise at my total.
I obviously welcome others to post about their clam experiences, but again please this is not some TinyCo hatefest, this is just to show how us players can build up plenty of clams just from playing clean and of course it will hopefully encourage TinyCo to drop some more clams into the game as a reward for us players.
So join me as I go a clamming and take a little trip down memory lane. And yes by the end of it I’m sure we will all have gone a little clam crazy but at least I will have shown there were lots of clams to be honestly gathered.
I’m going to start my journey through the clam fields with general game play. I started playing in May/June 2014, unfortunately missing the cool beta stuff etc. But alas I’ve got over it and I’ve played through every district, event and glitch since.
OLLIELAND FREE CLAMS
So my first clam total is from my daily visits to Ollieland, I’ve visited most days but giving a little margin for missed days I have probably earned around 600 FREE Clams from this alone.

You need claim those and be awarded them through offers. If you don’t get them you need raise support Ticket with the company providing the offers, not TinyCo. Apart from that have a look at this post https://familyguyaddicts.com/2016/03/06/clams-free-clams-and-more-clams/

My clam tv disappeared right after I placed the wheel about a year ago. Has anyone else had this problem? Tinyco has not responded to any of my inquiries about this issue. I’ve written them about 4 times over the past year. I’m not asking for help, necessarily, just a raise of hands.

My friend plays on his android device only and he gets 5-6 videos/clams in Clam TV (I even watched him get 9 videos in a row today) a few times a day. I play on both iOS and android (depending on which I have handy, but it’s the same account) and I only get clam TV once every 2-3 days, never more than once in a day, and only 1-3 videos. Why does he get that many that often, when I don’t? What triggers it?

” Touchdown Jesus!”* winces in agonizing pain *
😁😣😖OMG I spent $50+ dollars and pretty much sacrificed all my time, to catch up on the football event & attempt to secure a boost to Acquire him, but sadly came short;( I was trying so hard to get past it (and block it from sight & mind🙈🙉) and then you all had to brag about the four clam payouts!! I thought it was only two‽‽ and even that amount was killing me❗️
Oh how I wish Jesus was scoring touch downs in my silly lil quahog😭. I was so sad when the event ended and I couldn’t win him. and even worse with the fact that I just paid hundreds of clams to buy him in the Christmas event, and all you touchdown Jesus winners got the character Scott free🙄. 💸 I love the free clam perspective accompanied by the recent freemium perspectives. They both are quintessential to the FGQFS gamers life!!😋
{I really don’t know if that word Fits}🤓

So what you are telling us. I mean Bunny, Russian Tigger and TobyPine are the (yous) . To Delete everything and Start a new Account and play smart and truly as Freemium Player and watch the CLAMS pile up. And purchase things we now only dream about.
LikeLike
And how on earth did you come to that conclusion? No where in there did we say delete your game. Now, if you are playing a hacked game… then yes. Going legit will allow you to have full access to the game.
If you already worked hard and spent real money in your game, why on earth would you delete it and start over and lose all that? You can’t get all that Event content back. We are only saying that there are a LOT of Free Clams in the game to be had RIGHT NOW. No deleting needed. Still not sure where you got that idea.

It sounded like a challenge. Maybe I was reading between the lines. Actually it was a pitiful attempt at humor. But Russian Tigger has some good ideas, hopefully TinyCo will at least consider some of them. I had one, allowing players to purchase with their accumulated coins. Obviously at at high users rates. 20 clams for 100,000 coins I may do that. What I have like 4million now

I’d never tell someone that.
Now if I found this site a month or so after starting the game and wasted clams I might restart but that’s it. Just save what you do get for free and bank them for good stuff.
I’m not spending any more clams until Disney lets them do Blue Hatvest cause we all know everything will be Lots of clams to pay them off! Lol

I’ve collected my fair share being a freemium player since Comic-con and bought a few premium characters and buildings.
Wasted more than a few clams on mystery boxes (Doh!!) which is like back. Lol.
But one thing about Russian Tigers list is many of the Character group rewards involve clam characters.
Even the core Guys requires Cleveland who hasn’t been less than 200 clams since I’ve played.

He was free to start. Then became Clams later.
I think they pointed out the free clams won allowed to buy some Premium Characters too. 🙂

I got Clevland free and any premium characters purchased, I think I’ve bought 5 or 6, were bought using free clams I’d collected, so there was no cash outlay to build up the character sets. A few clam characters were free during earlier play or events, and even more recently likes of Conseula could be earned through game play rather than buying for clams. So keep an eye out for these. Hoping they start to use character sets again as these were good for clam grabs during events.

I appreciate all you put into it and yes, Tiny does do something nice now and again like offer Consuela free if you earned the kingpin skin, which I did. I didn’t start early enough to get Cleveland free but seems like they’re not about to offer him agin any time soon.
I think I’ve got 4 or 5 premium characters from saving up which is nice. But of course every time I get something premium one event the next event has something I wish I’d saved for! (I’m looking at you Fezzik!!)
And then I waffle towards finding a game budget. Lol
I’m curious about how a bouncy striped Tigger sounds in Russian. Lol

I started to play this game in January 2015 and I clearly remember that there was a clam bonus for collecting bribe materials to get Lois in 24? hours. I was trying to collect the materials for Phineas & Barnaby at the same time. Well , I ended up using a couple (10-12) clams to speed up the tasks that had a chance to drop materials needed for Lois for the 25? Clam reward/bonus.

An option to turn in coins for clams would be great! The items we need to get the goals done usually cost clams, and when you can only play before / after work it’s hard to get the quests done without feeling frustrated. I have about 9 million in coins, and would trade in some for its equivalent in clams.

I’ve made a lot more than 200 clams with clam TV, which I’ve had since the mobster event. I’ve been able to buy several premium characters as a result. I typically get six clams a day from it, sometimes all at once and sometimes in installments. Got nine at once recently, so it’s possible they’ve increased my daily max but haven’t counted. On a couple of holidays, we were allowed to rack up many more free clams (I got at least 16 at once, others reported more). Love watching clam TV! I even download some of the games and other apps straight from the TV. More clam TV!!!! Great idea and gives cheapskate me a way to support the developers.
I tap to go to Ollieland frequently just so I don’t forget. Lately it seems the icon only has an alert when a clam is available, but I figure it’s good to reset it even if only a few coins drop. That’s a few clams per week.
Love it when TinyCo messes up and begs forgiveness by giving us a bunch of free clams…. More glitches! (short-lived and non-fatal) More TinyCo guilt! Everything is forgiven with free clams, keep them coming.
I don’t usually bother with side quests during an event unless I know they produce clams. Since I play freemium (even if I get premium characters, usually it’s too late for them to be useful), I need to focus on the main quest.
Got Jesus last winter event, and noticed that recently he’s popped out two clams on the rare occasions he gives clams. I don’t have him working on it all the time, though, figure he needs a break.

Even though the game encourages you to get Facebook friends to go to their Quahogs to get Clams, don’t do it. Instead stay with only going to Ollieland. The reason its better is that there’s not as many characters to pick from to find the one with Clams. TinyCo hasn’t changed it much or at all since the game’s launch, so only you need to pick the same 4 characters. I’m not going to state what 4, because I don’t want TinyCo to change the algorithm to make it more random. Also remember the last character, who dropped a Clam so to not pick them the next time. Through this method I get about a 95% 1 Clam a day drop rate. One in a great while the Clam isn’t one of the known 4 characters. With this, Jesus and watching videos I get roughly 8-10 Clams average a week.

Weird. I just go to one of my friends and tap the first three characters I see and out pops a clam and two coins.
Happens every time the exclamation point pops up.

I always went random, everyone drops a clam eventually. On a very rare occasion, no one in ollieland would drop a clam so I had to go to a facebook friend. I always got a clam in the first or second world.
The main reason for having facebook friends was the 2014 Christmas event – you could gift friends every 12 hours. Other than that they’re just backup for Ollie.
The worlds reset in 20 hours, but you can only get one clam per 24 hours, so wait for the exclamation mark on the main screen.

Ha, thanks! I didn’t know it was possible to win a clam every time. I’ve always just tapped on the same characters and pretty consistently received 1 clam every 2 days.

I have logged in with Facebook and still get 1 clam per day 95% of the time. Sometimes if I don’t get it, it will appear in another users world.

i never really have any strategy when picking.. I just chose 3 random characters and almost always get a clam drop.. 95% of the time.. And when I don’t I just go to my Facebook friends and get a drop from one of them.. But everyone’s game is different.

There was an option to buy a tree of clams and the payout in clams was higher than the cost, if you logged in every 12 hours.

Russian Tigger this is a great post! I’m glad you and Bunny put it on the site! It will be good for all players to see to get an idea of what they’ve raked in, in terms of “treasure-d clams”😉. I also hope that Tiny Co is looking as well and sees differences between mystery boxes from the past and the present and also your fabulous suggestions for what you’d like to see for future free clams. Really like those ideas! Hahaha I have a suggestion:
During events, for leftover game currency let’s say XXX amount of whatever = 1-3 clams! Or BLAMS! Haha, I took that from TSTO, but it’s not as great as BONUTS. It does however, very effectively remind me of the Comic Con event 😉

Thanks. Looking at this event TinyCo is showing signs of increasing the free clams, even if you’ve got to spend to accumulate, ie The Grand Fairy Library. And yes event currency for clams would be great, would maybe stop those who are big earners getting disillusioned with having nothing spend currency on, also rewards them for buying the buildings that drop currency. As much as its great for freemium stop get free clams, also nice to reward those who spend and keep the game going.

Neither of these are tecnically free but If you have the game installed via amazon then when you make game related purchases with any game also installed via amazon, you will earn amazon coins which can then be spent on clams.
Another advantage for being on Amazon for UK users is that you get charged in dollars which works out cheaper than pounds. £65 for the largest box instead of £75 from Google play. You may have to make sure it’s Amazon US and not UK. The Amazon app I found in google play defaulted to US.
There are issues with the Amazon event releases being later than others, but I was able to uninstall the Amazon version, reinstall from Google play, run through the first few quests to get the option to log in to your previous account (you should make sure you have an account to log in to before attempting this, if I recall correctly if you can access your Facebook friend’s version of the game via ollyland then you can log back in via Facebook) and play the event until the Amazon version has been released. Then you can uninstall and re-install from Amazon.

FYI… ideas and tips like this we actually encourage other Players to share. My strategy is that I get my iTunes Gift Cards from my local Costco when they are about 25% off. I then use my iPod to load them into my game. I use my Google devices more than my iOS. Then I watch for deals and offers in the game or via apps that then make that money go even further. Love extras like that. 🙂

I just swap versions on the same google device. They log in to their own payment system. Apple might not allow it though.

Nice wrap up – but one thing: clam TV still doesn’t work on iPad, only when I log on via Bluestacks, so I’m still missing out on this one until they fix it. Last time I simply got a reply back saying “we’re working on this at the moment”… and that was a good few months.

Hi Chris
I only play on IOS devices and have no issues with clam TV on either of my iPads. Been getting clam TV pretty regularly since Christmas event. Are they possibly still just trialing it? Maybe servers can’t have it player wide yet? Maybe Bunny knows more on this?
LikeLike
If there is an issue, it must be device specific or possibly even region specific as all my iOS devices are still TVing it up on my games. The “issues” they had in the past, I thought were all resolved when they fixed Clams for everyone. Occasionally, just like game glitches, there is an odd one out that just does not like the game coding.
