  1. Will the results of the survey be posted? At this point with the event almost over I don’t know if the results mean much. I would be more interested in a final poll that would show how most players never got to the final stage of this trainwreck of an event. It certainly was an apocalypse.

    • Yes. Just got pulled away with Doc appointments and didn’t get to complete the other 6 posts I was working on. Regardless if posted or not, I still send them ALL the stats and information I pull from this site and other Players. 😉

  2. I miss the green green grass of home, and all my characters doing their usual stuff! All in all, this event was pretty good! I am a freemium player, and was able to get Neil, Jesus, Stan, Clevemire, Imperator Lois (the guns finally dropped after three days) and I got Ollie, and a lot of cool buildings and decos. I did use some clams to finish Jesus, but the clams where prize money for watching videos. So, I must remember for the next event to enjoy the game and don’t get frustrated so easily!

  5. I’m a whole week behind. It took me forever to get Neil and now it’s gonna take me forever to get Stan. They is no hope here. I was super happy when the game just started I was on point with phase 1 hen I started phase 2 on time and then I got stuck on phase 2 forever.
I’m pretty much fed up with the game now

  6. Looks like TinyCo changed drop rate for helmets from rare to common, and now they drop rate has gotten worse… I only received 2 in the last 8 drops.

    Like

    • Same here, six attempts at ‘common’ netted me one helmet. They have really screwed this one up! I already got Jesus, Ollie and Imperator Lois and still need eight helmets for Peter. Totally bizarre.

    • i have 2 out of 32 and i have been trying to get them since the start once you are able to get them i haven’t got any helmets in the past 3 day. Plus you need them to unlock the outfit to order to continue which it looks like i can’t

  7. lol I’m still halfway through phase 2, and still haven’t unlocked Neil. I didn’t have Joe, Herbert, or the Mini-Mart until recently… so I’ve been stuck on “acne cream”. There’s only 2 characters that drop darts, and 4 characters are permanently turned into mutants so I’m generally screwed for cigarettes.

  8. I’m at a point where I’m stuck. I’m on week 3 but still haven’t gotten Peter’s costume. I’ve started sending Stan & Neil full time on helmets so my progress in the trading post has stalled on the mutant research facility. I’m only am on crisis level 9 and really only want Roger’s costume out of anything that’s remaining, but won’t reach it if something doesn’t change.

  9. So I’m a little confused here and maybe it’s because people are talking figuratively. I see people saying they have Lois’ skin, but they don’t have enough helmets yet. How can you get her skin to trigger without the helmets? I thought you needed to be on Boom & Doom part 5 to trigger her, but you need A Peter for B&D Part 3 which requires helmets of course. Have some had her trigger before then? If so how? I’d love to get her started on Ollie’s jackets.

Right now I have 8 helmets. Not 8 to go, but 8 total. Really bad luck. Plus that mystery box they let out was no good for me. I got nets and darts of which I had a ton already. I mean kudos for them trying to help somewhat, but don’t leave it to chance. That’s what messed us all up to begin with on Neil drops. For buildings I’m trying to get the fuel refinery right now. These lights are killing me for the gas can since you need Stan for helmets and Bonnie is being chased and you can’t stop her form being chased without Lois. So if someone knows how to trigger her early please share. I’d love to free Bonnie up.

I really don’t think TC thinks through the implications of how they design the game and how it might play. I mean why have Bonnie we tied up from day one of the Phase when you know it will take so long to get her free?

but in other news the game just gave me the Giant Chicken !!! for free .. .

  11. I am at least a week behind, I got Neil a couple of days ago and litterally just got armageddon Stan. I will be moving into phase 3 tomorrow morning because Stan was busy on an action and can’t use the costume just yet.

I am hoping that phase 3 is easier to get through because I love building skins and would like to get them all

  12. I’m one of the people who is completely stuck on Apocalypse Peter (only have 18 out of 32 needed) and I’m not a freemium player either. I held out for Sidewalk Joe and that got me a bit behind, so I ended up purchasing Mr. Ciggy and Mr. Gas Man to try catch up. The irony is I just managed to get Imperator Lois today and within 4 tries (3×1 drop with Lois and 1×2 drops with Mutant Research Facility) I was able to get the yellow raincoats needed to finish Ollie (was expecting to have to shell out clams to make it before the deadline). Mind you, you only needed 5, and they were on 2 hour tasks, but they were classified as rare and between the two sources, they dropped every single time.

Meanwhile, the helmets for Apocalypse Peter are on four hour tasks and at best drop once every other time between Neil and Stan. And you need 32 of them!! I’ve already written TinyCo about the drop rates / difficulties in getting the helmets but is it worth writing again to mention the clear difference between the rare drop rates for Ollie and the rare drop rates for Apocalypse Peter (even if you disregard the 5 vs 32)? I don’t want to complain if it turns out that I was just lucky for Ollie, but the contrast is a bit ridiculous for items that are both classified as “rare”!

    • Im stuck with the same problem. And its killing me. This has been my favorite theme of all events ive played but now i truly feel like im gonna miss out on most of it due to lack of helmets.

    • I’m in exactly the same situation. I bought clams and premium items, although I made a mistake and triggered Joe too early and missed out on him. I had 20 helmets when Phase 4 started and I have 21 now. 1 One helmet in nearly 3 days!?!?! Sent two messages to TinyCo about this with no response. On the bright side, I started Ollie yesterday morning and all I need for him is 4 umbrellas and 2 microphones…I just wish I could move forward with phase 4. At this rate, I don’t know that I will even be able to start it unless they fix this Apocalypse Peter Helmet problem because I refuse to buy more clams to speed him up.

And when I click on it- under ” next upgrade” it says “BUILDING_PHASE_ALL_COMPLETE_fg_apocolypse_gate0” did this happen to you also? Usually it just says next upgrade in 6 days and some odd hours.. Maybe because this is the last week? Just wanna make sure I’m okay for when phase 4 hits..

  15. Got an unexpected boost in my progress earlier. opened the game to start Ollie’s timer and collect from buildings and collect/resend characters and probably be upset at the lack of drops from them I got a nice surprise. Every single character and building that was working on something for Lois paid off and I was finally able to clear the biker for Bonnie and start her on her first bulb.

  16. On the 5th part of the 3rd week main quest line. It took forever to get Peter’s helmets to get past the 3rd part. Crises level is just about to 10 so unless they bump us I’ll be starting week 4 quite late. I’m only 20 twinkies away from the human fort.

  17. I’m really loving this story line but I just don’t know whats the issue, poor drop rates or to many of items needed. I was well ahead with Twinks saved at the end of stage 2 and after a week still don’t have Peter but close to Lois. Getting gas is also a pain as without APeter and ALois I only get at most 4 bulbs a day.. Like I say I really do love this event but things seem to need clams more and more just to keep up with it.

  18. I wanted to add that there always seems to be a bottleneck at some point. I have tons of cure darts. It takes so long get Light Bulbs and so long to make Roach Zappers. I have 4 options to create Twinklies and 3 of them require Gasoline so I’m focused on creating Roach Zappers. Then the 4th option is a lot of water bottles, so I go between creating Net Launchers and Roach Zappers.

I feel like I’m always restricted on items for Twinklies. Like I’m working my way to just a little bit of a time. Didn’t feel like this in the first 2 phases. In the first two phases I had tons of cigs and water bottles. I would go into the trading post every once in a while and get several exchanges from a stockpile. Every event where we create items in a queue to clear people or monsters, there’s a bottleneck in the 3rd/4th week that is frustrating.

    • So play free. I suggest this many times. Try to switch up your thought process and way of gaming. Try playing for free and just see how far you get. Set a challenge up for where you want to be in a week and see if you get there just free. I find that when you don’t just look at a game as “I must buy it all” and instead just step back and play a game for just the thought of playing… it seems much better IMO. 😉

  22. Stuck on Boom and Doom pt3 cause I`m waiting on Apocalypse Peter, almost enough helmets for him but this will now cause a delay into getting phase 4, also just just started crisis level 10 so why bother spending my clams on the skin to bypass pt3 when I`ll still be delayed due to my crisis level. I was keeping up during previous weeks, bought Alien and spent clams on the mystery box but when tiny co ruins a event by putting me in these dilemmas, it really makes me regret spending my money on this game. Sure once we complain enough they might help out but not before putting such stress on me first. They should have the common sense by now that these crisis level things are usually a fail before the event is over.

  25. I started the timer for Ollie this morning since there are only seven days left to the event even though I have zero chance of getting him since I can’t take Stan off helmet collecting and Bonnie has been chased since Phase 3 started and I can’t get to the point where I can start collecting for Lois to free Bonnie since I can’t get enough helmets for Peter’s costume to move the quest line along which means I only have one source of light bulbs, etc. etc. etc. etc. I am quite sure everyone sees where that is going. There are three freemium sources for light bulbs — one has collected none since she has been turned completely useless (Bonnie), one only can collect a small portion of the time since he is needed for a quest line item (Stan) and one provides one every eight hours. I want the game to be challenging but when they have the same batch of people all intertwined and one or two things that are completely out of our control can just shut you down it takes away the desire to continue.

I made the mistake of advancing slightly into week three. So I need the new Lois costume and gasoline but haven’t triggered an ability to get either. Oops.

Crisis points are easy if you buy something. I bought the building to get gasoline, shot up two CP levels.

  28. Got the 3 mystery boxes yesterday…….30 darts….when now I need the light bulbs. Stuck on the hair wax. One drop of one and another one of two over the course of a week. Helmets have been a pain to get as well, only halfway there. I didn’t get Stan until this past Monday (Wasn’t playing when the Smiths first came out apparently). Didn’t even attempt to get the frickin hard ones as there was no chance without dropping major money on clams, which I can’t do. I’m a half week behind at least. Frustrated for sure.

  30. I’m in phase 3 and I’m not going to start phase 4 even if I somehow get to the point where its possible. I’m making OK Twinkie progress with mostly Cigs/Water since I only get 1 roach kill a day and I can’t afford to be stalled because suddenly all my trade options require Pills that will be impossible to get the first couple days of the phase. I’m gong to start Ollie’s timer in a couple hours and pretty much concentrate on him the whole week. If I somehow also end up with Peter or Lois’s outfits they’ll be a bonus, but they don’t really matter since they’ll never be seen again after next week since as soon as this ends the next thing will start and they’ll be doing whatever tasks they have in that in their regular outfits.

  31. It’s kinda sad. At this rate I’m going to have all phase 3 rewardsand exchanges , including weekly challenge and Ollie, but still be working on helmets despite focusing Stan and Neil since Monday.

    Like

  32. Just like most others, I guess, I am stuck on needing A.Peter for the main quest. Stan and Neil not doing anything else than helmets, and I am half way there now. But we’ll be near the end of the event before I will get him and can move forward in the questline. As such I will never see the phase 4.
I only need two Goggles for Lois so will get her in 8 hours, and then hopefully I should have better access to Lightbulbs as I can set Bonnie free.
With so many being at a standstill for Peter, I guess I am doing rather ok. I am half way through level 9 and only need the remaining two buildings in phase 3, excluding the hard one. I guess I can start the timer on Ollie soon.

    • They are most definitely NOT the same game. Never have been, never will be.

I will tell you this though, on playing BOTH games since their launch… TSTO also has had its rough patches. It wasn’t always as simple as it is now. There were MANY times in its first two years Players struggled, did NOT get all the Freemium items, had many issues, felt the game was rigged, etc. In short, EA learned. TinyCo… I hope they eventually do as well. 😉

      Liked by 2 people

    • Yeah, I’ve come over from TSTO. I started a few days before this even started and have really struggled to get anywhere. I didn’t have Lois, Joe, Herbert and possibly Mort too. I’ve finally got them but I’m still only halfway through phase two. With only 2 characters able to make darts, and 4 (out of 11) constantly turned into mutants, I find it hard to make anything. So far this has been a really miserable game to play. I realise that it’s because I’m new, but this game doesn’t seem to be fair – even slightly.

      Like

      • Just an FYI… this game will not now nor ever be anything like TSTO. The ONLY thing the two have in common is the town building. Nothing more. This game is much more time consuming, challenging, and hard work to get anywhere.

If you prefer simple tap n done… TSTO. If you don’t mind a daily challenge… then FG.

Just want you to be fully aware they are not the same game, so keep that in mind when comparing the two. 😉

        Like

        • Thanks, yeah it is really hard not to compare them. The character unlocking process is unnecessarily difficult, and the whole character levelling is a bit weird. It’s really hard not to feel like this game is intentially biased to make you want to spend clams – I never felt like that with TSTO. e.g. I’ve been trying for days to get the last 2 acne creams just to unlock Neil. I login ever 4 hours (aside from sleep) and set Joe & Herbert to get it. But every 4 hours I don’t get it, and I just keep on trying. I can’t progress with anything useful in the game without him… so it just doesn’t feel fair. It’s just odd that this game can be so downright depressing, when the show is all about comedy and good times.

          Like

          • Panic makes any player “think” they must spend. TSTO does it, a LOT, just… they hide it better the way they do it is the easiest way I can explain. In the beginning, they were not so freely giving out Characters to Players. Whacking Day was a nightmare, Easter, Some Christmas Events… on n on. Players complained they felt the same “Pay to Win”. TSTO has slowly caught on and started to give back more n more to players. Also, keeping it simple.

This game, will always be a challenge. Always steps and phases. It is not easy for many Players to deal with this kind of a game, just whatever you do… NEVER EVER EVER let the Panic win making you think you have to spend. That is the “bait” all game house put out. Heck, ALL Businesses. Just think of anytime you go to the grocery store… all those “impulse buy” items by the registers. Many people “think” they need those items and buy them. Even if the same item, 5x bigger, is just down the aisle for only 50cents more. “Impulse buys” will get you every time. EVERY company has them. I get why they do. From a Business standpoint, I have seen the numbers they pull and how they can help boost a company to keep them a float in harsh times… which for game house can be all the time. Lol. 😉

  36. The question of getting Nets at this point seems a bit off, after all if people are in end-p2 or p3 nets are hardly the issue and I replaced most with TP tasks or (I’m in District 7) tasks to unlock Connie, Anime Peter or Midlife Crisis Lois.

As for the design of week 2 and 3: the excessive requirement for Apocalypse Peter is the bottleneck. I’m currently doing, and most finally finishing, challenge 3 but that requires Stan on the Getting Sharp task, and so far I’ve gotten 3 helmets from Neil. I still think there’s no logic there. From the TP box I got Twinklies, and then twice Nets which are hardly useful at this point. The design regarding Peter simply NEEDS a change, or freemium, even sub-premium, players will simply not see phase 4.

    • Nets are an issue for me because there is a water bottle only / cigarette only option for twinkies so I also need lots of water bottles again…

  38. Apparently gas in the game’s universe has been cut off from the middle east, so it’s quite rare for me. And the biggest reason for that is simply put that I’ve been forced to keep Armageddon Stan working on zapper bulbs since the only other source of them for me right now is the diner. Apocalypse Peter is still quite a time away for me thanks to Neil being the only one working on helmets (10/32 as of tonight), and Lois’ costume has just the guns left (of which I’ll hopefully be able to get the building that drops them in the morning since I’ve got 2 more zappers building).

We desperately need a third source for zapper bulbs besides Stan and the diner, as well as another source for helmets I’d wager. Or if not another source, cut the time requirements on Stan’s and the diner’s drop timers for bulbs by about 2/3rds (8 hours to get one bulb + like 3 hours to down one cockroach? Ugh) and up the drop chance on helmets.

I know a lot of us have said it before, but “rare” and “extra rare” really don’t belong in a limited time event. Seems like every time they’ve reared their heads people fall way behind.

I spent clams on two of the dart -dropping items and one of the lightbulb-dropping, but I still have needed to keep Stan on bulbs, so Neil (once I finally got him) had been mostly alone trying to get helmets for Peter. I’ve had I. Lois a couple days now, and just got the last phase 3 trade item (not counting the roller girls) so have started on Ollie, but I doubt I’ll get A. Peter in time for any of phase 4.

  39. I was struggling on phase 3 at first, but gave in and spent $10 to get enough clams to buy apocalypse peter costume. With him done neil went to darts and Stan went to lightbulb. I also bought the lightbulb tower. So I had the diner, stan, apocalypse peter, and tower on bulbs. Lois was pretty easy and quick for me to get after that. So then I have bonnie on light bulbs too. Ollie wasn’t too hard either. The main thing that affected this phase and gave me a hard time was getting Apocalypse Peter. 32 rare items is way too much especially with only 2 characters who can get them. I am also only halfway through crisis level 9. Im not too worried, but this is my first time not being at the crisis level for the next phase in time. Over all it wasn’t a horrible phase, I’ve got all the characters I can while being a freeium player, including Ollie and Commander Jesus. I did give in and spend a little this phase, but I’m mostly feemium and I’ve had some difficult fun with this event.

  40. Strange, I just unlocked Phase 3’s Imperator Lois before unlocking Phase 2’s Apocalypse Peter (seriously, I still need 13 Helmets). Normally, this would evoke a WTD reaction, but it is so ridiculous that I cannot help but laugh at how absurd it is. At this rate, I might even unlock Ollie before getting the rest of those Helmets. Such a shame because I nailed all 3 Weekly Challenges, but will likely miss out on the 4th because I am stuck on Boom and Doom Part 3.

Even stranger: no Mad Max character. I would happily fess up the Clams for an original Mad Max with the Interceptor – without hesitation. Talk about missed opportunities…

  41. I wish TinyCo would go back to the events where I simply needed to tap things to get the currency. This is likely the 4th event in a row that I’ve done pretty well the first week, and then phase 2 hits and it’s totally wonky. I still don’t have Stan, despite working relatively hard for the past 2 weeks. That’s kinda silly, but annoyingly expected because all of their events seem to run this way now. Then they always have to rebalance things or make up for them with free clams or mystery boxes. I keep playing, but I resigned months ago that I would never be able to accumulate every prize like I did in the early days.

  43. I’ve had a character turn three times while trying to get through a task more than once. I’ve heard the characters will turn back to normal after some period of time. In all the time they have been attacked, I’ve only seen one character turn back to normal. Maybe there should be a time limit as to how long they can stay mutant-ized.

    Like

    • The time limit for chatacters to turn back into humans is like 2-3 days. I left Connie alone on to focus on saving characters, who get Nets. My Connie turned human because I hear her sound file, but when I went to look for her she returned to a Mutant.

This is due to the fact I only have 6 characters, who can turn into Mutants. I stored most chatacters that turn into Mutants because the area became too crowded wirh them and Goldfish.

      Like

    • The timer keeps counting down when they’re mutants. If they’re on a 6-hour task and turn into a mutant after an hour, wait 5 hours before curing them. You can collect the drop straight away. Mutants doesn’t stop the timer, just stops you collecting.

  45. Bunny,
As you know I’m playing the event not as TinyCo has designed it to play by not going to Phase 3 and staying on Phase 2. Today I was able to finish getting everything out of the Tanker, so I’m a little ahead for getting things for Phase 4. My current level is half way through 9, so I don’t know if that’s bad for accessing Phase 4. With people stuck on Part 3 of the main quest because they haven’t unlocked Apoc Peter I’m guessing I’m doing okay. I also finally clicked on Ollie to work on him.

One major thing that TinyCo did change today is that removed Lights from the Station, so I can no longer get Lights from the Diner being on Phase 2. I’m working on going to Phase 3 now with Stan finally doing the Part 8 task, since I need to start unlocking Lois.

One thing that really helped me today was the TP Mystery Box that popped up. I was very lucky. I got: Twinklys, Nets, Bottles, and TP, which gave me back all the TP I used on the Mystery Box. Yay!

Struggling to get gasoline to trade for Twinkies ATM but I am upto last prize for week 3 need 100 more Twinkies so overall not a giant struggle.

Biggest issue I’m having is really leveling up, even logging in at least every 4 hours to get items I’m only just into 9 and really can’t forsee myself hitting 11 without them drastically changing something.

Almost finished Peters outfit need 5 helmets whoo so I can finish the story line. Just hoping they fix the levels so I can hit phase 4 and buy anything I want before it ends.

So far it’s been better then most events but I still feel they need to lower silly amount of hoops for freemiums so they get to enjoy more then 2 phases.

    • Many are a bit behind and looking for help on the CP too. You’re not alone. It is another reason for this poll. I want to gauge where everyone is. TinyCo monitors progress and if majority of players are not progressing, they will usually adjust those requirements and give all players a “boost” on the levels.

I’m having same experience as you. 1/3 of the way thru level 9. Spent all my TP on anything to get those Crisis points, but level 11 seems unlikely for a few days at least. Spent 600 clams on the Crater Warhead (useless considering I have 25 Furniture Stores and next to zero Mutant Stewie eggs spawning now), getting the final drops for the chars that started timers without warning and Biker Brian, who was useless too. Hah.
First week was pretty good for keeping pace. I had 140 twinklies and 16 hours to go on unlocking Sidewalk Joe when Phase 2 started, but the trades were so restricted and drops were so slow that I couldn’t see how I could get Joe and the buildings completed to unlock Apoc Stan within a week, so I waved Joe goodbye.

Now have 533 Smoke Bombs (!), 54 twinklies, 10 helmets short of completing Apoc Peter, 9.3 Crisis Level, Boom Pt3, Crisis Mode Pt9, Relics Past Pt14, Mad Pt3, Saving the End Pt1, A Goldman Opportunity Pt4,Road Dog Pt3, and completed the three challenges so far.

A few people I got into the game have already left after some of the events were so clam orientated, so they missed this one. Event could have had some tweaking for the drops, but Ive still enjoyed it more than any other event of the last 6 months..and because of that, I was happy to spend the cash on some clams.

  48. With the new Mystery Box helpout, I think this poll will be changed a lot with answers.

If I hadn’t paid ~100 Clams on day 1(Friday morn) of week 3 for the last 8 or 9 Motorcycle Helmets… I’d be dead in the water for week 4 tomorrow. No way I would have a chance to catch up.

Taking Neal and Stan and putting them on anything but helmets, it saved me. They are absolutely necessary to not have continued wasting time on those helmets. I had 17/32 when everything else including the Extra Rare hair wax was done. Seriously misbalanced with the rarity and amount required with PRIMARY NECESSARY characters.

That said, for the first time ever on a non-mystery box character, I am considering not getting Biker Brian. Had he been there to help from the get go, instabuy. Now, he’s useless for 260 Clams.

The new supplies mystery box could help a lot of people, but you still have to MAKE the items it gives you the supplies for. Not the best of help, but some relief at least. 🙂

  49. Poll wouldn’t let me check off the correct number of darts. I wanted 4-6. Would only take 1-3. Also wanted to state that I needed cigarettes and gasoline, but it would only let me choose one not both. Thanks.

    • It is the MOST on the final question… so you can only pick one on it. As fro the darts, not sure why you could not check the 4-6 option unless you already had another selected
