With the arrival of new content more characters and buildings in Quahog have tasks to help you earn essential materials and stuff for the Franken Bonnie character costume and of course you want to know which ones earn what, how often & how many. Anyone else having trouble with the space aliens not dropping orbs this is the fourth time in a row that they have been defeated and they drop nothing at all. It used to be every time they dropped orbs now nothing

This shouldn’t be happening. You need to send an in game support to TinyCo explaining problem so they can check your game if it’s spacemen your talking about,. Clearing Spacemen should always drop cosmic radiation. If you’re talking about Buggy Aliens then that’s NOT an always drop. I get maybe 1 drop in 5/6 clearances.

no, it is this basement. Since then I’ve cleared two more and nothing at all dropped I’ve message them but I don’t expect an answer till in the morning or later than this anyway thank you for confirming I’ve got car already to release his basement but I don’t want to since I know it’s not going to drop the radiation

I’ve just cleared a spaceman, and nothing dropped, but then I widened out my screen and there was the cosmic radiation. I cleared Spacemsn over at the Billiards Room, but the Cosmic Radiation dropped over at the kitchen. So check your total before you collect incase this is what’s happening to you.

I’m having problems getting Scar Concealer. It’s supposed to be uncommon, but I haven’t gotten any since I placed the Robo-Pumpkin Patch building two days ago. It’s the only thing left I need to get Franken Bonnie.

Excellent breakdown – thanks! One quick thing, where do I find the Playground for the gasoline can drop? I’ve looked everywhere, and can’t for the life of me find it! Thanks!

Have you unlocked the school district. The playground came with Mr Herbert in this district. If you have, maybe you have possibly stored it?

Hi RussianTigger, yeah I had unlocked it – but it wasn’t dropping gasoline cans. But after you confirmed it should have been, I put it into the inventory and pulled it out again – and now it works! Thanks for you help, and thanks for the great job you and all the Addicts team are doing with this site!

One of the main attractions in my town is the Drive-In (from last years Halloween). It is the area where I keep my vehicles [to make it seem like an authentic drive-in, although sadly I can not rotate the cars in the right direction to make them face the movie screens 😩] and movie characters (ones that I do not want to put into Tan Lines, as I want to actually be able to see them). It was only when I went to set Chucky on his visual task (I put all my movie characters at the drive-in on visual tasks), that I realised he was dropping magnifying glasses. Tiffany will have to make do by herself for the time being, the first time they have been seperated since I originally got them both.
I was pleased to get Ash as well now. He will be another great addition to the drive-in once this event finishes. I have not seen the new TV series (too many good shows, not enough time..). I loved the second Evil Dead movie though, my uncle had it on Beta (yes, Beta 😆) when I was a kid in the 1980s. Used to watch it a lot, even though it was a bit out of my age group back then..

Back when I was a kid (in the 1980s), my parents had no idea how to work our Beta player (I used to always have to set the timer recordings etc. for them). I am the eldest in my family (I have two younger sisters), so I was always the one who commandeered the player.
Beta players themselves were huge machines (when compared to the usually much smaller VHS players) but the Beta tapes (cassettes) were smaller compared to the larger VHS tapes. The audio and picture of our Beta recordings was superb. Unless you had already recorded on a Beta video tape and wanted to tape over it, the more you recorded over the top of something, the worse the quality would get. The other thing was that when you used the Beta machine [by pushing the “record” or “play” button], it would make a horrible loud noise – which I used to describe as “a loud lawnmower starting up”.
For most of my childhood I used that machine, we used it on a constant daily basis (I had quite a big library of Beta tapes). Our Beta player took a lot of abuse – especially with the constant heavy usage that it handled over the years. When it started to reach the end of its life though, it started rewinding the tapes very slowly. A tape that used to rewind in about 3 minutes started taking about 10 minutes.
It was not until the early – mid 1990s that we finally moved onto VHS. Our first VHS player lasted only about 3 years before it started to chew the tapes up (luckily I knew how to open the VHS tapes up and repair them, as one of my sisters got upset when our VHS player decided to chew up her beloved copy of The Little Mermaid).
In the late 1990s, I purchased another Beta video player so I could rewatch some of my childhood videos again.
I actually did prefer the Beta over the VHS. I am not sure whether it was because I thought Beta was better quality over VHS though, or that I had grown up with our Beta player. VHS players did have their good points too though (such as they seemed to be much faster at rewinding videos and that they did not make “the loud lawnmower starting up noise” when playing tapes).
I have not used either format in well over a decade now though.

Sounds like you have a real sentimental side when it comes to Beta. But as much as DVDs take up less room and everything else, they just scratch too easy especially when in the hands of kids. I think it’s time for something new, but what? I guess streaming is the future, all libraries will be on a loud somewhere. But it’s just not same as looking at your movie collection on a shelf is it?

Many of my movies are now just files on a hard drive or my computer. It is obviously not the same as having an actual copy in your hands, I do kind of miss that, it is easier though. The videos did take up quite a large amount of room / storage space. I had so many at one stage that it was taking up too much room. Also with constant playing, eventually the tapes would start to wear out and the quality would start to decline, at least you don’t get that with streaming or video files. I am someone who does miss video stores though. I used to rent out a lot of movies. Originally we would rent out Beta videos but they were phased out and stores started stocking VHS videos only (which was one of the reasons we had to move onto VHS).
Some of the first videos that I remember owning on Beta were: Dot and the Kangaroo, Pete’s Dragon (the 1977 version), Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The Dark Crystal, The Never Ending Story, a Fraggle Rock video, a Mickey Mouse video and a Tom & Jerry video. Not sure what the first Beta video was though – I think it may have been the Mickey Mouse video which I got for my birthday in the early 1980s. I had many Beta videos though and I eventually had nearly every kids movie from the 1980s on Beta. 😄

I finally trashed my old fuzzy self-recorded vcr tapes from pre-cable days and got commercial dvd’s of things I wanted like Dr Who, Are You Being Served. I’m planning to get some really old Dr Who from iTunes as well. But I record from cable or antenna via an old Elgato 250 device, so I mostly watch from their EyeTV program or on my iPhone (EyeTV can save in that format or stream to the iPhone directly from its archives.). Of course services like Hulu and Netflix have archives of so much stuff, that would be the easiest way today. But it’s nice to be able to watch the Burns & Allen show any time I want from my recordings….
