WED, Can we get a single day breathing room between events? Currently, I have Jerome, Bonnie, Chris, and Lois on a 2 to 3 task backlog from the Christmas and all of them have had major roles in the last two mini-events since then.

I’m one of the android players that couldn’t get in to the game for a couple of days. I didn’t manage to unlock anything even with the free darts that tinyco gave us to make up for the glitch. Only being able to play twice a day hasn’t helped but the drops have mostly been building tokens and i didn’t really want any of those.

I feel like I got ***** by their free darts drop. I was getting maybe 1 to 2 packs every 6 hours and was getting at least 2 to 3 giant chicken token per day. By Sunday, I had only 2 left to get to unlock and was sure with about 2.5 days left, I should have gotten them. However, the darts dropped and I was able to get enough tokens to purchase 10 packs and still had over a day and a half to go. I didn’t get another giant chicken token until 5:55 pm EST (I did, however, get over 14 for Kaplan) just before the event ended a few minutes later. So I had the choice to pay clams for the final token or chalk up entire week for nothing especially since Jerome, Lois, Chris and Bonnie are still 2 to 3 quests behind clearing Christmas event tasks and now all of them are needed to complete tasks to succeed in Bollywood event.

So is this best of 2016 event over? I didn’t get any warnings of it ending soon but I can no longer collect darts and the quest line characters are all gone. I didn’t even come close to getting any of them!

I only have 14/20 tokens to get Jim Kaplan despite collecting darts on time every day. He’s the only character I need from this event. Didn’t even bother with the buildings because I already have them all. The last four carnival packs I’ve opened have ONLY contained building tokens… WTD TinyCo

The frustrations continue. My final two Carnival Packs gave me 6 more Building tokens. In spite of the ‘bonus’ darts I’m still 3 short for Kaplan and 4 for the Chicken. Using clams at this stage would wipe me out for the next event (if I can be bothered). I know TinyCo are a business, but surely hacking off so many people is not going to help. I have bought clams in the past when I’ve been close to something I wanted, but I’m not going to buy any more unless there is a dramatic improvement in the Freemium rewards. By all means have additional Premium Characters, but there has to be enough left for the less well off to continue to enjoy the game. Being left ‘nearly there’ at the end of each event is frustrating and disheartening.

Down to just two more Dart drops before the end and still 4 Tokens short of Kaplan. Utterly Ridiculous that with only one character to work for I’m not going to get him only 15% droop rate for character tokens vs 85% for buildings is crazy.

Diiid anyone have mother Maggie randomly dropped into their game? She appeared with an unlocked lock above her head, I clicked it, and there she was. Also seemed like I would have been given Penelope if I didn’t have her (had her in tan lines) as her quest restarted just like my mother Maggie gift and promoted me to take her out. Is this the next event maybe? A weird gift? I’d settle for a token besides a crappy building one if it’s a gift, but whatever. Anyone else?

Few people reporting getting characters like this during this event. Honestly don’t know if it’s deliberate or a glitch.

I hope Vinny’s “Classy” outfit from “Christmas Guy” is ready sometime this year. I’d also want to see an “alive” outfit for New Brian. And I want Joyce Kinney, Vern and Johnny (as Lazarus Portal ghosts), Horace the Bartender (also as a Lazarus Portal ghost), and Carol the Giant Hen.

Only needed Jim and GC in this event. Darts dropped ok (almost always 3-4 per drop), but with 6-hour tasks, was only getting about 3 character packs per day. And I think I’m with the majority where 75% of my tokens are building, not character, tokens. With (less than) 24 hours left, I’m 16 of 20 for Kaplan and only 10 of 20 for the Giant Chicken. Spent 10 bucks on clams to get Minstrel Bruce and Fat Brian (but already had RR Stewie, so FB was useless). Ugh. Waste of a week, and I won’t get either character in the end. I’m not a whale, but I typically spend between $20.00 to $40.00 per event to try to do well. I know that’s not nearly enough to get everything, but even so, I was hoping for one, if not both, of these characters when this event started. Instead, I’ll get nothing.
So yeah, Tinyco, bring on more five-week events where you’re a week behind by week 3 even buying clams, doing tasks to get things to use to get other things to maybe get other things. Keep coming up with more ridiculously complicated events, and ridiculously timed task drops. I love this game and have played it religiously since the beginning, but I’m getting pretty weary of it all…

6 hours for a chance at a dart for a chance of 1-4 tickets to get to the glorious 10. Turn them in and for 2 1/2 days get nothin but building coins. Contacted them in game, usual canned response that they will pass it on, they were kind enough to reset my game to brand new though, yeah, luckily since I’ve played from the beginning I had it linked to save. Tried again and 3 more building coins. Since I only needed Kaplan coins when the event started figured it would be doable since they say always. I guess always has multiple meanings

There really should have been a guarantee of at least 1 character token from each carnival pack. It would still take forever to get enough, but at least we wouldn’t feel like we’re wasting our time waiting out a 6 hour drop to get darts, carefully lining up shots at stacks of balloons to only have a portion of them count before finally getting 10 tickets to open a carnival pack and getting yet another 3 completely useless building tokens.
Unrelated gripe: On character and skins mystery boxes would it kill them to indicate which is which? Also not cool putting the easy to get Pac Man in and leaving out the impossible to get Blinky.

Apparently no lessons learned yet by TinyCo after the awful Xmas event. Drop Rates in Best of 2012 are still appalling. I’ve got Ollie, but only 6 Giant Chicken tokens, and 10 Kaplan. Only 5 more dart drops before the end of the event. If I manage a Carnival Pack on each one I’ll still only get a maximum of 15 tokens, and going by past experience many of these will be for buildings (more unnecessary clutter in my inventory). Even if I got enough for Kaplan (unlikely) I’d still have to spend 75 clams for the Chicken Fight in order to claim him.6 hourly drops are frustrating, as you can only get three a day (unless you get up in the middle of the night – Ha!). I’ve maybe missed 2 or three characters’ drops over the whole event, and still no chance of getting near completion. Come on, TC, either extend the event to give steady players a fighting chance, of give us a useful bonus instead of the usual junk. There isn’t even any decent banter in this event. Are the FG guys having a long Xmas break?

Even getting the medium dart box to try to get a jump on things doesn’t look like its going to help. Mostly just building tokens. Won’t even use those. Drops aren’t the best for sure and I’m not spending a bunch of clams to get anything anymore.

Done some more maths on my game. Building tokens dropping 46%, stewie 26%, kaplan 15%, G chicken 13%. Based on 3 carnival packs a day I will have the following tokens Inc daily drop for building, kaplan and g chicken: 35 building, 16 Kaplan, 16 stewie, and 14 g chicken. 1st event I will get nothing out of except a few buildings that will stay in storage!!! 😦 poor show Tinyco.

Well I have done some maths on this and I am not going to get any of the characters even though I paid 300 clams to purchase 2 costumes!!! We need an extention. I am getting 2 to 3 dart drops every 6hrs, 3 times a day, so far I 39 tokens Inc daily drops 17 building, 9 RR stewie, 7 kaplan and 6 chicken. With 3 days left not much chance of getting the required amount . :(. 3rd time I have failed to get the dam chicken!!!!

WTD 6 Kaplan tokens to 42 Building Tokens and only 3 days left. This will be the first freemium Character/Skin I’ve failed to earn since the Peter clown outfit right at the start of the game.

I almost never give up in the middle of an event, and I won’t this time, but the math is looking very bleak. Been at it since Thursday morning and as of this evening I have six tokens each for Kaplan and the Giant Chicken. What’s worse is only 5 of the last 8 dart drops have happened, and my last carnival pack produced 3 building tokens. Feeling is pretty grim, especially on the heels of the last two weeks of the Christmas event.

5/20 for JK and 14/20 for RR Stewie so little chance for anything considering the bad token drops…Dart drops are horrific (six hours??? Really?? For a mini-event?? WTD??) and the 24 hours task for Joe means he’s pretty useless to get tokens.
I’d rather just get this one over – as much as I like more characters, the frustration is sucking any fun out of this one…

I am all for these mini-events filling up my week to keep me engaged with the game. However, I am only collecting for Jim Kaplan and have three coins as opposed to 33 building chips. I can’t imagine how brutal it must be for anyone collecting for more than just the one character. I don’t get it: everyone is irate with drop rates and rather than give players a nice easy week where they can rush through and enjoy some time off, they keep the same algorithm and make it so many can’t reach the goals of this mini-event. No, I don’t think TinyCo is listening to the players. I stopped touching the hit stove because I was getting burned. Perhaps I should heed my own advice with regard to playing this game.

Exactly my thoughts. Of the 33 tokens I’ve got since this event started 1 is giant chicken 1 is Val and 31 are useless building tokens. NO TinyCo your drop rates are NOT dropping as they should. Beyond frustrating. The fun of playing this game is almost all gone so at this rate I’ll probably be deleting the game as well

I was thinking the same thing. Only collecting for JK, and I am sitting at 8/20 with no optimism of actually completing. I thought this would be a snap just collecting for one, so I cannot imagine how atrocious it must be for players trying for additional characters.
You are not alone in regards to the stove – I also keep touching the stupid thing for some reason. Maybe it is the hope that there might be some cheesy fries in there this time…

This is my third shot at Giant Chicken and while it’s early the returns thus far have been brutal. Getting instant flashbacks from the last event.
I don’t want to be teased and cheated a 3rd time. That might do me in which is frustrating because I’m genuinely rooting for Tinyco but I spend way too much time playing this game to get my heart pulled out yet again. The Giant Chicken fiasco was the biggest letdown of 2016, let’s not kick off the new year with bad memories please.

I have a feeling they are going to tease us by dangling the remote chance of unlocking the big chicken in front of us periodicallly… This will be my third failure also, I only have managed to collect three tokens for him so far. Don’t know why I even try, I don’t even like the character! But that has never stopped me before.

I’ve reached 15 out of 20, so might just get the chicken this time, although still by no means certain. This reminds me that I didn’t get anything from last years Best of 2015 event…!

Thanks. Today wasn’t great – got no more chicken tokens from my next 40 tickets. Hoping for better luck tomorrow!
I’m also starting to suspect that balloons don’t count if you dart them near the edge. The game often says I’ve scored fewer than I expect. Aiming close to the sides of the screen seems risky too as the balloons can suddenly vanish completely instead of floating all the way out of view.

I’m honestly too WTD’d out to complain about that horrific xmas event. Instead, WTD is TC’s malfunction with screwing over FB and Droid users what seems like every event? I play on iPhone but the constant comments about droid errors and FB delays for events going live for multiple days is depressing to see. It wouldn’t kill them to compensate those players with “care packages” containing potential missed drops/clams for the set back, Esp. during a mini event where a 2/3 day delay kills 30-50% of the event progression for those players. Frustrated for you lot, I really am.

27 tries 27 stupid building tokens. Not a joke. Not a single character one. And 6 hour drops!?! Also I haven’t had all 4 darts drop once. Yet another HORRIBLE frustrating event. So pissed. WTD!!!

I’m with ya. Although I have been able to unlock Ollie, the math does not support any possible way to get all four characters. TinyCo, please be a little more thoughtful and stop with the teasing already!!

It would appear that the “fix” with 1.35.1 on Android is to delete the cache folder on every load (I could be wrong, but that’s what I’m seeing on my device).
People should be aware that if you’re on metered data (either mobile data or on your WiFi), the game will download about 200MB every time it loads. That can eat up your 1GB data plan in about 5 loads.
However!!! It does prevent the problem from reappearing if you’ve had the app closed for a while (or first load after rebooting).

I guess I should say that the 200MB is on my device, with my current town configuration, and with the characters I own. Your results may be different. Obviously, a new player will download considerably less data (I’ve been playing since almost the beginning).

I see in my future another failed attempt to get giant chicken… third time’s a charm?!! We have just a few days left to get 20, and I’m getting about 3 of 4 darts dropping every 6 hours. That’s 12 darts and if I’m patient and hit 4 balloons each time I could earn 4 carnival packs per day, maybe 9 over 2 days. So if I get 18 -20 or so packs to open before time runs out I don’t think getting giant chicken will happen with 8 out of last possible 9 tokens in carnival packs being building tokens! WTD????

Hmm, I have 9 out of 20 giant chicken tokens, so thinking it’s looking tight but could still go either way for me depending upon luck with the drops. 2 or 3 of my chicken tokens tokens are from Hercules rather than the mystery box thing.
The box has given me 3 x building tokens on two separate occasions, approx 20 in total. I also have 8 out of 20 jim kaplan tokens.

The Android issue meant I couldn’t play the game for the first two days of the mini event alongside users on other platforms. It’s good that they sorted it out but I think a gift would have been nice to compensate for those who were unable to play for the initial period and therefore behind on darts, tickets, character tokens,.

Wtd, almost all android users are doomed to not get characters they wanted this event, and most probably wanted them because they missed out the first go. A few day event extension would be awesome, to atleast give android users a fair go at getting some of these characters. On the upside, the best of box did help me get a couple characters wanted, but that was a lucky draw and cost real money. Not exactly a huge help with the days we were down unfortunately.
One last wtd…..why does dilo chris take a day to get one dart, and reg chris takes six hours?! WTD indeed!

for this event I was hoping of the coming back of more characters and costumes, I missed the wrestling and the apocalypse event, and much of the princess bride and pirate event, in the past there were 3 boxes full of characters and costumes you could buy, and now there is only 1.

Still taking a break from events, but it’s hard to stay away, I was finally able to watch clam videos today. Was able to uninstall and reinstall with help from Tinyco customer service, they have been very helpful in assisting me with the crashing issue, answering help questions quickly both in game and by email. So, guess I need a what the deuce here…umm…wtd with new lawn mowers? I’m trying to buy a new push mower and am having trouble finding one without bad reviews, seems they are not made as sturdy and dependable as in the past. I need one that will start on the first or second pull, or my patience will fail! It must also easily cut through the mix of weeds and grass that makes up my large yard. Suggestions?

I was thinking you might suggest sheep, I would consider getting a goat to eat the grass, or maybe a sheep! Btw, since your comment, I added one in my graveyard. I’m not playing this event, but finally enjoying my town and characters again without crashing. Hope I don’t jinx it saying its not crashing lately!

Well personally I’d go for the goat, I’ve always wanted a goat, but Bunny tells me not to do it as she’s still got the butt marks on her, well, butt to remind her why goats are a bad idea. Lol. Maybe sheep are a friendlier lawnmower, lol. Glad you’ve got one wandering your graveyard as well. And even more happy you’re enjoying a bit of time to build your town, as it’s something we don’t really get enough of a chance to do with full on events and memory issues. Feel free to Showoff what you’re up to….

Goats do wonders for large areas and hard to clear yards. Years ago, I lived in a house with a backyard so steep that even a weed eater was difficult to use. I couldn’t wrangle the brush and poison ivy even with manual clippers and daily trips up the hill. Since I lived inside the city, it was required that home owners keep their yards cleared and grass cut- a big problem for me at the time (single mom, working full time). So, I did some research and found out that I could have a pygmy goat within the city limits. That goat cleared most of the lot in less than three months, which was more than I accomplished in nearly a year. I even bought a harness to fit him and my son would take the goat (Gruff) out for walks around the neighborhood.
The only downside to having a goat is they will eat everything, including prize rose bushes and other flowers if they get out. Males also have a nasty habit of “tasting” their own urine, so there a smell issue if you get a billy. Overall. goats are easy to care for and make good pets when hand raised.

And one more (LOL!)…WTD about being able to put characters into Tan Lines?? I’m three away from being able to collect at the 2 blue Stewie buck level, and somehow, Cleveland can be tucked away in the resort, but Mort and Bruce can’t?!? WTD!!

If the Jim Kaplan coins are an “always” drop, how come I have received only 1 coin in 5 carnival bags? Considering 20 Jim Kaplan coins are needed to unlock him, at this rate, I won’t be able to unlock him. WTD Tinyco??!!

I have several complaints but will stick with the one that bothers me the most. I know the game is free and TinyCo makes money on our buying clams. However, I would be more inclined to buy characters if they didn’t cost 800 or more and then they do nothing after the event is over.

I ALWAYS remark on this. I can spend a week working on unlocking, say, black Jesus. The event is about to end. I go to see how much he would cost to buy him so my efforts weren’t wasted? $14. That’s more than a PC game on steam. Who the heck can afford to buy all these premium characters AND justify that it’s worthwhile to themselves??

I was finally able to update and get back into the game, but as a mid-premium player, I feel pretty cheated about spending clams for the event in the first five minutes that I could play before being locked out for three days, now I have no idea what is happening in this event nor do I really care…I really like this game, but not sure I want to spend anymore $$ given the bad taste in my mouth now…I am so far behind that getting RR Stewie or Kaplan will be impossible and am now very leery about the next update…I know clam purchases are non-refundable, but if there was a way to trade back my existing balance, I would probably do it and just play freemium going forward…future clam purchases just got a lot harder to justify, not that I can’t spend the $$, just following the rule of why throw good $$ away after bad $$ money?
WTD, TinyCo? I get mistakes happen, no one is perfect, but it’s WHAT you do after the mistakes that counts…as a manager in a chemical company, I always preach, hey, you’re gonna make mistakes, it’s normal, just own up to it, learn from it and move on…in this case, I would like a refund of the clams I wasted in those first 5 minutes as they are meaningless now, but that’s not happening…ugh…
