Kung Pow Quahog 101: Fighting Mr Miyagi

Hey there Addicts!!

With Phase 2 of the Kung Pow Quahog Event in full swing there’s a new Baddie in town and in this post I’m going to talk about Fighting Mr Miyagi.

In this post I will go over the Basics of defeating Mr Miyagi, you need to do this in order to unlock Johnny Lawrence and to progress in the main Questline Pt 8, but don’t be daunted by the thought of having to defeat him, as it’s very similar to defeating Mr. Washee Washee in Phase 1. Also please be aware you can defeat Mr Miyagi before you reach Pt. 8 of the Questline and it will automatically check off once you get to it, so you can start attacking whenever you’re ready.

For the Main Event Post, go HERE

For the Main Phase 2 Questline, go HERE

You’ll find a post that will be updated each Phase to include our Foes and who can fight them HERE.

WHEN WILL MR MAYAGI APPEAR?

Mr Miyagi  will appear soon after you start More Mojo in the Dojo Pt. 3, this is when you will see Mr Miyagi start to show off his battle moves in the event arena.

WHAT DO I NEED TO START A BATTLE?

First, you will need to collect Paper Craneseach attack costs 4 Paper Cranes.

Paper Cranes (Always): Get from Clearning Samurai

If you do NOT have the amount of Paper Cranes  required, you will see “NEED MORE PAPER CRANES” on the Battle screen no matter what Character you select.

Once you have 4 Paper Cranes, then “FIGHT” will appear once you select your Character/Characters.

HOW DO I SELECT A CHARACTER TO FIGHT MR MiYAGI?

Just tap on Mr Miyagi in the battle arena, now when the Battle Screen appears you will immediately see where he’s similar and of course where he differs from the Mr Washee Washee battles. Firstly on the positive side as you can see you can still use up to 3 fighters to attack Mr Miyagi during an attack, he’s also not as powerful  as Mr Washee Washee, his attack power is only 12 but on the downside he’s stronger than the Mr Washee Washee, as his Health is 18.

Tap on +  to add the Character/Characters you want to use for the current Battle and a check mark will appear on them. If you only have one character that can fight that is fine but I don’t advise it if you can avoid it, as you will need multiple attacks and a lot of paper cranes to do it this way. So try to use at least 2 characters if you can, and 3 is even better if you’re lucky enough to have 3 fighters. Then tap on “GO” to take you back to Battle Screen. (If you see a lock on the Character, you do not have them available)

Also remember a character cannot battle whilst busy doing another task. They can however do tasks between battles or whilst healing.

WHAT CHARACTERS CAN FIGHT MR MIYAGI?

The Characters you can use will depend on WHO you have unlocked or purchased…

Samurai Quagmire: Health 4, Attack Power 6, Critical Hit Chance 20

Tai-Jitsu Lois: Health 8, Attack Power 6, Critical Hit Chance 25

Daniel LaRusso: Health 12, Attack Power 8, Critical Hit Chance 20

Johnny Johnny LawrenceHealth 8, Attack Power 6, Critical Hit Chance 20

WHAT IS HEALTH, ATTACK POWER AND CRITICAL HIT?

Health – The amount of damage you can take before you’re knocked out.

Attack Power – The standard damage you can do to your opponents health during an attack.

Critical Hit Chance– The higher the number the higher the odds of you doing a critical hit to your opponent. These are random, basically look at it like a lucky strike where you do more damage than your standard. These work on chance, you have no control over them, so really don’t think about it too much. Just know that it means you can knockout an opponent with one hit, but on the downside they can also do the same to you.

Now their Health and/or Attack Power it takes to defeat villans may change as the Event progresses, as we may see new villains to battle, as of know I am not sure on this… but we will have to see what happens as the Event progresses.

HOW MANY  CHARACTERS DO I NEED TO FIGHT MR MIYAGI?

You can  fight with only one, but as I said before I don’t advise this due to the multiple attacks and quantity of Paper Cranes that will be needed, but I understand if you didn’t unlock Daniel LaRusso, haven’t clam unlocked Johnny Lawrence or purchased the premium character costume Tai-Jitsu Lois, then you will have no choice as you will only have Samurai Quagmire available to fight Mr Miyagi.

However although this post will be based around using the combo of 3 fighters I have available in my game don’t worry I will also give you an idea of what it’s going to take if you’re fighting with Samurai Quagmire alone. I know it sounds daunting but please don’t panic as technicaly you ONLY NEED ONE CHARACTER TO BATTLE but again be aware you will need to do multiple attacks to win unless you strike it lucky with a critical hit to Mr Miyagi, and I’m thinking the chances of that happening are probably very low, it will require a lot of work and patience to defeat him if you’ve only got Samurai Quagmire.

Now that you have the Basics, let’s look at a fight so you can see how things go down.

MR MIYAGI

Look in your Event area and you will see him strutting his stuff in the battle arena.

Tap on a him and you will see the Battle Screen, here you will see….

  • How much Damage he can Inflict on your Character (fist) – 12
  • How much Damage it will take to Defeat him (health bar) – 18
  • How much Damage your combo can inflict on him (fist) – 20
  • How much Damage it will take to defeat you (health bars) – DL – 8, TJL – 8 & SQ – 4
  • The chance of a Critical Hit on him
  • The amount of Paper Cranes you need to fight – 4
  • The rewards you will get for defeating Mr Miyagi

So as you can see with my 3 character combo I have very good odds of defeating Mr Miyagi in one attack. This goes for any 3 character combo from the 4 that can fight Mr Miyagi. As you can see in my combo the combined Attack Power is 20 which is greater than Mr Miyagi’s Health, 18.  So unless I’m unlucky and miss with an attack he will be defeated straight away. And as Mr Miyagi only has an attack power of 12 unless he gets lucky with a critical strike, he will only reduce my fighters health by 4 each. But again remember he can get lucky and take more health off your fighters, it’s all down to luck.

The odds of defeating him in one attack of course lessen when you use a combo of 2 fighters as no combination of attack power will be equal to his health of 18, and when you go down to 1 fighter unless you really hit the jackpot of a critical strike you really have no chance of defeating him in one go. So as I said if you only have Samurai Quagmire you have pretty dreadful odds, he only has a health of 4 and attack power of 6, so you’re looking at, at least 3 attacks to defeat Mr Miyagi if you don’t get lucky with a critical hit, or if Mr Miyagi doesn’t do a critical miss. So basically your attack power and health isn’t going see you win the battle quickly, it will take repeated attacks and healing time unless you get in a critical hit or two. But you can defeat Mr Miyagi, you’re just going to have to chip away at his health gradually, it’s not impossible, it’s just going take more resources and more time, although on the plus side Samurai Quagmire does heal in only 3 hours.

Now once the fight begins you can only sit back and watch how it progresses, you can’t control anything. You may see your fighter/fighters  land a critical hit on Mr Miyagi and knockout him out, or you may hit him and reduce his health, or you may be unlucky and miss him altogether. And the same goes for the Mr Miyagi, he may hit you and reduce your health but then again he may miss you completely. Watching the fight you will see what happens, but as I say you can do nothing to influence the way it goes.

If you do a critical hit or a successful combo attack you will have defeated  Mr Miyagi and you can just collect your rewards. If you miss him or just reduce his health you can attack again once you’ve healed and have enough Paper Cranes available.

Basically you need to keep attacking until his health hits 0.  If you do this then you win, and you’ll see this screen. Collect you rewards.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE?

If you are knocked out and lose all your health then you need to heal your fighter/fighters.

WHAT IS HEALING?

Each time your Character/Characters go into Battle, they will take Damage. Once their health hits 0 in order to be able to use them again they must heal from that back to their full Capacity. Please note your fighter/fighters  will not start to heal if they haveonly lost health, they must be at 0 health.

There are a few ways to Heal your Character/Characters. First tap on any Nerd or Samurai and then go to the Character Select Screen (tap on +). Here you will see your Character has taken Damage and “HEAL” is showing over them.

You will see the time to heal, (different fighters have different heal times, ie 7hrs is standard time to restore Dojo Peter to full health, but Samurai Quagmire only takes 3 hours), and below this a button to allow you to heal them immediately either using premium revive potions bought from the store or if you have no revive potions, you will get a message telling you the clam cost to heal your fighter instantly.

WHAT ARE THE REWARDS FOR DEFEATING MR MIYAGI?

This will depend on where you are in the game but here is a general idea of Payouts.

64 Samurai Bandanas (Always)
1 Cobra Kai  (Always)

***If you should only damage him, the round reward is 1 Paper Crane (Always) & 10 Chopsticks (Always)***

  1. when fighting mr miyagi does his health heal? or like mr washee his heath doesn’t refill so you have time to wait in-between attacks?

  2. I gave up 3 days ago. App would not even load. Thank goodness I didn’t spend any clams. Mission fail.

  3. I was hoping to unlock Mr. Miyagi as well. But I’m doing the math now and have determined that it’s going to take 3-5 days for me to earn 450 Headbands. (I’m assuming that Mr. Miyagi will disappear when Phase 3 kicks off.)

I can’t see that it’s worth the time, so I’m giving up and trading in Headbands for Rice Balls to try and get a head start on Phase 3.

  4. I’ve noticed Mr Miyagi available in the store for 450 bandanas. Is this a full character or just a deco?

  5. How high does critical chance hit go? 25? And does that mean percentage?

    • Joe has a Critucal Hit chance of 50, and yes it’s like a percentage but it’s so random I just don’t even look at that in my fighters. I concentrate on their health and attack power

  6. I was wondering why I was losing bandanas for Mr. Miyagi purchase. I hadn’t realized they count against the prizes in The Temple also.

  7. I got really lucky. Daniel-san critted Miyagi, letting my 2 person (non-Premium) team beat him in a single fight. Given the low-drop-high-need for fight contracts, I don’t know how long it would have taken to be able to fight him again.

  8. If this is posted some place else, I apologize as I looked and didn’t find it: will the chance to get Mr. Miyagi the character continue through the end of the event or will that go when he goes at the end of this phase? Wondering if I should bother jamming for samurai bandanas in huge volumes if he is going to just leave. Thanks!

  10. I am currently trying to unlock Mr. Miyagi for player character. Samurai Quagmire is a great addition to any samurai battles for paper cranes because of even though he will fall, his 3 hour heal time allows him to fight again if you get 3 contracts in the 4 hours needed. I am hoping for two more miyagi fights (64 bandanas each) and the 8 samurai battles needed to get the cranes by 6pm Eastern time tomorrow.
