Okay, here’s your first lesson – how to take a fall!
With this new Kung Pow Quahog event, we also get some New Characters. Characters like Johnny Lawrence!
Let’s take a look at what Johnny Lawrence can do in our silly lil games.
Johnny Lawrence is a Character added during Week 2 of Kung Pow Quahog in 2017. As with (almost) all Characters in TQFS in order to unlock him you’ll have to collect lots of STUFF.
First though, you had to get the Cherry Tree in the Event Area repaired so you could get him out. It costs $10 & takes 10s to unlock. When you unlock him this will trigger his 7 day timer! Note that you will be prompted to unlock him at More Mojo in the Dojo Pt 3.
With him now visible in front of the Cherry Tree, you can tap on the Lock Icon to see just what is required to bring him into your game.

11 Loser Awards (Always): Defeat Samurai OR Giggity Geisha House
15 Brooms Uncommon): Sweep the Leg Maid Services OR Have Mort Sweep the Pharmacy
18 Cobra Kai Gi (Rare): Cobra Kai Karate Dojo, the Ukiyo-Erotica Print Shop OR the Regular Ninja Warrior building (Sensei Stewie Mystery Box)
Have Samurai Quagmire Meditate
1 King Cobra: Defeat Mr. Miyagi
Once you had all his Requirements checked off, the Unlock Icon appeared over his head. Tapping on it brought him into your game as a Character.
He does come with a Questline, Cobra Kai in Quahog, more on it in a later post.
Johnny is also part of a clam collection, The Best Around. Collection of all characters will award 10 
Clams.
Johnny does come with a complete set of Tasks! Tasks that will help you earn $$$ & XP. He can also help you to fight Samurai and Mr. Miyagi!

6 days left and only have 2 cobra Kai Gi out of the 18 I need. So rare that so tough to get both my buildings to drop. Looks like I’m gonna be stuck on this one. Wonder how some of you able to unlock him ahead of time?

You’ve 6 days left on Johnny timer? If so there’s lot time left get the Cobra Kai GI, they started slow for me then drops increased few days into his 7 day timer.

Ok hopefully so. I felt I am way behind since I saw boss battle is now available but I’m still at end of phase 2 waiting to unlock Johnny. But I saw that there’s a new character to unlock Billy.
RT, do you advise that I should complete phase 2 given that I have just enough rice balls for the part 8 and move on quickly to phase 3 to start getting items for Billy and also attack Boss? Or option 2,wait to get more rice balls for items in phase 3 and meantime try and unlock Johnny first? What would you recommend?

It’s a tough one to say, but I’ll try advise as best I can, if you don’t plan to purchase the premium Brian skin or premium statue that drops black belts to help you then Phase 3 is a little tougher, for 2 reasons, your only source of Rice Balls for a while is going to be clearing Sensei, and he has a Health of 15, and you’re only freemium character to attack him at first will be Samurai Quagmire, so on average it’s taking 3 attacks to defeat a Sensei. It can take more as I’m seeing bit more misses now. Defeating them will get you 24 black belts, and each ATTACK costs 1 fight contract, so the defeat will take at least 3 in total unless you get lucky with a critical hit. I’ve cleared 6 and not hand a critical hit as yet. Now the exchanges post isn’t up yet but you can see a general idea of them in the LIVE post here https://familyguyaddicts.com/2017/02/01/kung-pow-quahog-phase-3-is-live/ The only other source of Black Belts is defeating Kung Pow Chicken in the fight arena, but he has 32 health and a timer, so he’s out bounds for a while and bizarrely only drops 24 black belts when you defeat him, same as Sensei.
The second thing to make Phase harder is the cost of items in the Temple have shot up, you’ll need 121 Rice Balls to get everything needed for the phase, however many of the drops can also be worked on through character tasks, but I’d advise having enough Ruce Balls to buy the first item The Tea House (18 Rice Balls) before you hit this Phase, as it drops Fight Contracts. Seamus will also have a task, which is good as you’ll probably have Peter gathering resources for the Golden Dragon rather than Fight Contracts. The next item is Billy Banks building at 16 Rice Balls, he’s got no timer, so you don’t need worry. Again you’ll see all the Temple costs in the LIVE post.
Basically if you look at the Ramen Cart exchanges for Phase 2 and 3 you need decide if you think you can make more by staying in Phase 2 and clearing Samurai/Miyagi or can you make more clearing Sensei. I personally can’t say as it really depends on your fight contract drops.
But the new Boss Golden Dragon can be defeated at the lower levels, 1X and 2X using drops from Peter & Quagmire but it doesn’t drop black belts so it’s not a source to help there.
I think a lot will depend on what you want to unlock now, if it’s Billy Blanks you can delay, but if it’s Golden Dragon, well he needs 75 Red Envelopes and you’re going need get started on them ASAP.
I hope this helps, it’s very hard to advise due to our games and style of play being so different. Maybe others can advise what they’re doing.

You are absolutely spot-on that if it’s Golden Dragon I want (which is the case), I need to get started ASAP. I do adore having the Dragon in my town! Based on your analysis, I drew out a battle plan, and realized (from recent experience with unlocking Boss Ganesha) that it is important to keep attacking, albeit with the limited freemium options.
My strategy for now would be to accumulate one more day of white belts from Samurais to exchange for 3 more rounds of rice balls. This would give me enough balls (pun intended) to trade in for the last item of Phase 2, and get the first 3 items in Phase 3. It helps to have at least one item with an offering drop. I also need to attack 11 times for up to 3x of hits. Most likely, I would not be able to unlock Billy, so I just have to rely on my 2 freemiums, Peter and Quagmire, and one building for offerings, and lots of luck!
It is true that Tinyco makes the game with a higher level of difficulty than others, but that is driven by their desire to make players decide to play premium if they do want to progress more smoothly in each event.
What makes my ‘mission’ even more challenging is that for the next 2 weeks starting Monday, I would not be able to play the game from 8 am to 6 pm for work reasons. For now, I have to mentally prepare for the worst that I would not be able to get the Dragon character, but recalibrate my expectations and be contented that I already have 2 free characters from this event!

Well if it gives you hope I started Phase 3 with enough Rice for the first 2 items, but got the 3rd few hours in, I’m now collecting to get the 7th item – I’ve done this simply by having mix Samurai headbands and Black Belts collected from Sensei, I have been very vigilant on times for drops mind you. I’ve also with just the buildings and Quagmire & Peter drops just hit the Dragon at 4X and have 20 of the 75 envelopes. So with the time to the end of the event I’d hope you can get the Dragon. But the work restrictions may hold you back. Perhaps a peak on a toilet break would be possible, lol. Not that I’m encouraging you….😀😀😀

As always, I take your call, and bit the bullet. I’ve got enough for first 2 items and already started Phase 3. Got my first hits on the Dragon and up to 3x. You give me hope.

That’s great, I’ve not got the resources buildings and am hitting Dragon at 4X, I will also have Billy a Blanks in a few hours, so seems be a good Phase 3, for me at least. Hope you see the same.

Thanks to your encouragement, I’ve attacked 4x and have 13 red envelopes. Also, I was also able to attack Sensei and unlock Johnny somehow! I’ve got the first 5 items and hopefully can get the 6th item within next 2 days as I’ve run out of fight contracts.
The only bottleneck for me is the long resting time of the Dragon. It’s still at rest since 8 hours ago. Until he wakes up, I just have to accumulate my offerings based on my best guess on what’s needed. I go by a minimum of 4 of each items at any one time, as my rule of thumb.

I just unlocked him this morning. I waited to repair until I had everything from the temple up to the second Cobra Kai Gi dropping building and just about enough British court wigs… er rice balls to get that. I still had 3 1/2 days left on the timer. The fight contracts are the main ‘time gate’ for the event it seems but I slowly got enough this phase to keep up.

They certainly starting to stall things, hopefully if they are needed next phase we will see more drops. And if they are if TonyCo had made it known they would be used throughout some of us would have spent clams on the building that dropped them. Many of us hold back on the premium buildings as they are useless after a week…

I’m at More Mojo in the Dojo Pt 3 however Johnny’s not there at the cherry tree to find. Which is okay, in a way, as I’m not ready to go ahead yet, but I couldn’t even if I wanted to!

He was to the front of the island, almost above the stone bridge. I hit GO on the task and then the little hammer appeared for me to repair him once I was ready.

to be really pedantic id say its “get him in a body bag, yeahhhhhhh” but mainly the problem is HE didn’t say it, one of his cobra kai team mates shouts it when he is fighting 😉
