Hey there fellows addicts!
Just bouncing by to bring you some information on the new mystery box that dropped into the store, and the good news is it’s a currency box so you can buy a try or two with all those chopsticks you’ve built up.
I also want to remind everyone that the Event will be ending soon.
THE KUNG POW QUAHOG EVENT ENDS ON WEDNESDAY 15TH FEBRUARY AT 3pm PDT.
Now let’s take a closer look at it all.
NEW BENTO MYSTERY BOX IN STORE
We all wondered why we had so many Chopsticks building up when there was so little to buy with them, now we know TinyCo was just playing with us as they have released a load of the event area buildings and decorations in the Bento Mystery Box, and you can buy tries at this box with all those leftover chopsticks. It’s 250 Chopsticks per try, and here’s what you can win.
Ramen Cart (Decoration)
Panda (Animated Decoration)
Sensei Stewie Statue (Decoration)
Master Brian Statue (Decoration)
Cherry Blossom Tree (Animated Decoration)
Fighting Arena (Decoration)
Pagoda (Building)
The Temple (Building)
I’ve just won everything in the box, and I have to say these look great, if you’re planning to have a zen area in your town, you’re going to want these in it.
WHEN DOES THE EVENT END?
Wednesday, February 15th, @ 3pm Pacific Day Time. Keep in mind they are VERY punctual on this. There is no leeway.
WILL IT BE EXTENDED?
There has been no indications the event will be extended.
CAN I CONTINUE COLLECTING AFTER THE EVENT?
NO. When the Event Ends, it takes all the Event items and Currency remaining with it. That means ANY Character/Costume not completely unlocked and walking your game… will go when the Event does. You MUST collect all the items needed for them to get them.
This goes for Buildings and Decorations. Unlock/Purchase all the ones you want as they will go with the Event.
WHAT HAPPENS TO EXTRA CURRENCY?
Anything linked to the Event goes with the Event, so that means currency too. Use it or lose it essentially.
I CAN’T GET MORE ITEMS!!
Keep in mind the game is set up to pull items from the Inventory Storage first, so if you already have say… 10 of an item in Inventory… you will need to pull ALL 10 items out first before the game will let you buy more of that item.
Place items from Inventory first, then you can get more. Continue buying until you have all you want, then store them away.
QUESTLINES?
The ONLY Questlines that usually continue on after an Event are those directly linked to unlocking a Character and isolated from the Main Questline. All other Questlines are directly linked to the Event and will go with it.

Me, too, totally agree. This event FINALLY seemed balanced, well-paced, possible to earn virtually everything (within reason) simply by playing constantly (you should be rewarded if you do that!!!), and I appreciated the drops, balance of tasks, affordability of items, etc. GOOD JOB, TC!

i got all the characters (except the GC) …
finished the 4 weekly challenges …
bought all the bento boxes (so now i have 2 pandas)
i still need 10 rice balls to get the Rooster building (my Chinse zodiac) so let’s see if i can manage to kill 2 Sumos for the belts in the next 9 hrs …
not a bad event …

Would love to hear if anyone closed out the buildings and decos from the Temple. I did not get The Pit of Spikes, but was able to get all others with Rooster Pagoda coming right at the end. Just wondering if there was anything good at the end of the Winners Circle quest line…

Skipping most premium characters, costumes, and items, I finished with all the freemium offerings, (including Mr. Miyagi, using red headbands), and completed the main questline. I didn’t get the Killer Kung Pow Giant Chicken costume, as I only defeated him 3 times, so far (might be time for 1 more :-)), but I did manage to grab GC from the Pollo Restaurant, so he’s in my game, for now. I did buy one building (Loser Trophy drops looked bad, and I needed Johnny to ease my progress), and I often rush tasks using clams, but I use the free ones I build up for that. So, all in all, a very nice event, I think!
On a side note: I thought you gals had all taken a vacation yesterday**, as I received ZERO email notifications, of comments being posted, all day yesterday. This morning, I logged into WordPress, and found that my notifications had been turned off. Has anyone heard of this happening on its own, before? All good now, but I missed following everyone’s progress, and their questions and comments. Yeah, I’m an addict, I know. 😉

Not seen notifications turn off like that before but with WordPress anything is possible. Vacation? What’s that, oh yes that’s what our Lotty is on at this very moment. Lol. And sounds like a god event for you. Here’s hoping we see more improvements in the next one.

TinyCo did get this event right. Which leads me to believe that we will pay the price in the future. That generally seems to be the trend.

I liked this event, at least I managed to get who I was going for: Mr Washee Washee! Also got Peter and just got Quagmire yesterday. I still think Wizard of Oz is the best event I’ve experienced so far!

I agree completely with comments here that this was a really enjoyable event. Got my coveted Golden Dragon and 5 new characters! Yippee! Decorations look good, given the fact that i live Japanese culture and stuff.
I would like to extend my appreciation to Russian Tigger for her big and timely advice for me on how and when to get the Dragon, especially as I was trying to catch up with 11 days to start and win the race against time to get enough red envelopes. She gave me hope when I thought I had none. So, thanks a million for your sagely advice and sharing your strategies!

This has been a very enjoyable event, probably the most balanced event I have seen in a very long time!
In some ways I am dissapointed that there are have only been character skins (which I refuse to buy as they are overpriced). I am suprised there have not been premium characters such as something like a kung fu panda etc.
The most impressive thing about this event is the Golden Dragon was released giving everyone plenty of time to obtain it with each phase previous to it being very attainable from a freemium player. I havent unlocked anything from the last phase but there is not really anything killer that I am after, I think that is a good way to handle each event as well so if players do get caught up on previous phases they dont feel frustrated by the difficulty.
I do hope the trend continues with upcoming events!

I’ve enjoyed this event and now just the last feather for chicken I was lucky enough to unlock him for free but I’m not taking any chances lol

I agree this event was quite enjoyable, having some challenge but not so much that things cant be achieved. Being a premium player, I spent about 20$ and got everything that coud be had, except for walking joe and stuff in the surprise boxes, which for me are too risky and expensive. Keep up the great work and thank you!

I feel like TinyCo finally got an event right. I might not get Killer Kung Pow Chicken but being a Fremium player now, I am ok with that. I got the Golden Dragon that I really wanted plus ever other Fremium character/skin. This is by far the best event they have had in a while. Not perfect, but definitely much more enjoyable. Thank you Addicts for for this site and everything you do!
