With the new Quahog Heat event, we’re getting some new Characters and one of them just happens to be Erik Estrada.
Let’s chip in with some information on what Erik Estrada can do in our silly lil games.
Erik Estrada is a New Character added during the Quahog Heat event. As with many characters in the game in order to get him you have to collect lots of stuff! You will be directed to unlock him via Pt. 4 of the The Color of Dirty Money questline, which directs you to look for Erik at the New Waves Nightclub. Once you repair this area, repair costs $10 and takes 10 seconds, Erik Estrada will appear for you to start unlocking. Remember you have only 7 days to unlock him once you’ve placed him in your game.

3 Motorcycle Boots (Always): Defeating Bertram
11 Bike Gloves (Uncommon): Get from Joe Investigate Counterfeit Goods OR Make Herbert Wear Arthritis Gloves OR Beverley Hills Art Gallery
8 Handcuffs (Extra Rare): Investigate Teller Windows OR Neon Tower (Premium)
6 Fanmail (Rare): Get from Po Po a Go Go Bar
Task: Make Miami Cop Peter Confiscate Evidence (6hrs)
Once you have finished collecting all the Materials needed,
He does come with a Questline, Chipping In, more on that in another post.
Erik Estrada does come with a complete set of Tasks! Tasks that will help you earn $$$ & XP! He also has a 4hr task with a rare drop of Police Tape and can be sent on investigations in the Bank Security Office.

**Note: Within an Event, tasks may change and vary as the Phases come and go. So some of these tasks will be temporary. Others may be one time use. Some will stick around even after the Event. We won’t know until the Event Ends.

2 days gone and not one fan mail. I’m going to message TC. I waited to start the timer until I got the buildings. 2/8 handcuffs and my last Bertram. I’m really bummed about the fan mail though. Anyone else having issues? Good luck everyone!

The handcuff drops were so bad that I did something I really never do – I bought a building (the neon tower) for 100 clams to get the handcuffs. I figured I would be ending up paying more than that for handcuffs anyway since I wanted Estrada, and buying the building was also much less stressful than waiting for police tape (also bad drops) and hoping Lois would finally find enough handcuffs before his timer ran out. Then Estrada could help with those stupid tapes as well (he was hopeless investigating, usually just more donuts). Probably wouldn’t have done it if the building cost more than 100 clams, though.

I haven’t been able to even start on the handcuff collecting because I haven’t had a single Bertram drop! So I can’t fight him, before I started the timer for unlocking this character I was getting Bertram every second time now it’s been four days of constantly sending Peter and Lois and nope, not one Bertram drop. A LITTLE BIT sus if you ask me. I’ve noticed lots of apps do the same thing, making drops rarer when it’s for an event.

Can we start some kind of petition or poll to minimize the extra rare items to only 3 or 4 items? I think that would be fair. Eight is just ridiculous, especially when it’s with a character that is timed.

We’ve sent load feedback on these drops to TinyCo, but sadly they continue to be a part of the game – please use your in game support to send them your thoughts.

I had almost everything for Erik Estrada before Part 2 started. All I was missing were 2 handcuffs. Characters have been in the Casino Floor, etc continuously since then, and I’m still missing those same 2 handcuffs. I even left a message with TC, but all they replied was basically, keep at it. With only a day left on my timer, I don’t think I’ll get him at all.

So I didn’t get him. Absolutely terrible drop rates.
From the 7 day timer I got a total of 2 sets of handcuffs.
I managed to get Bertram for the 3rd time within the last 24 hours (I had Miami Peter with 6 days left on Erik’s timer).
I placed Po Po A Go Go with 3 days left and managed to get the second drop of fan mail with 2 minutes left, so no chance for the final drop.
The drop rate of the police tape didn’t help either. And I was there roughly every fours hours to try to collect them. Not as if I was only logging in once a day.

Drop rate on handcuffs has been horrible for me. I’ve spent some clams to help, but I’m not giving up 100 at the last minute to get him. Probably never use him again after this event.

Got him with 16 hours left on the timer. Much closer than I would of liked.

its been almost a day since i started the timer and i havent got a single drop of ANYTHING for Erik !!!

I have completed everything for Erik Estrada but not received on of the handcuff. Have 2 days left. Bought tape so Lois could keep going to teller window but nothing? Any chance I will get them before timer runs out?

if it is anything like mine, NO. i am down to hours and have sent Lois on every tape received for 7 dyas, and still not one drop, What a waste of time

I finally realized (from all the comments here) that I was very likely NOT going to get enough Handcuffs before my timer ran out, so I forked over 100 Clams for the Neon Tower. As it drops two at a time, with a 4 hour cycle, I hope it will get me up to 8 before I run out of time. (I have 2/3 Motorcycle Boots, 2/6 Fan Mail, and 5/8 Handcuffs [2 already from the Tower], with just under 3 days left to collect them.) And on a related note: What the heck does “Always Drops: Extra Rare” even mean? Isn’t that an oxymoron? 🙂

Four short with 21 hours left on the timer, and because I’m now in phase 2 it takes three stupid Police Tapes to investigate the room that doesn’t drop Golden Handcuffs. Neon Tower it is. Grr.

I did the same thing, and am ticked that the neon tower is so big and ugly that it will be going straight to storage… .. Estrada had better appreciate the effort.

I still need 1 Motorcycle Boots (always) which haven’t dropped with visiting the Security Office twice. Also stuck with 3 Handcuffs which again never dropped for the past 3 days. My timer is now at 1d2h36m. I’ve been waking up every 4 hours (including between sleep) to collect Tapes and things… no luck!!

The motorcycle boots come from defeating Bertram, who you find in the Securty Office, they don’t actually drop in it.

My hope is every player gets the new freemium characters if they put in the effort, but I know this is going to be tough due to the slow start to the event. Look out for a poll coming up where you can share you’re progress, or lack of it, in order Bunny can show players stats to TinyCo. Good luck.

3 days 2 hours left on my timer and I got my first set of handcuffs this morning. Still no Bertram drop and need 27 more cups to get 3 badges so I can get the Po Po A Go Go building. Drop rates are terrible for a timed character.

My handcuff drops increased once I got down to 3 days or so left on timer, hope same happens for you. But I agree for most players Erik is going to very tough. My exchange at this time is 40 for 3 badges, way, way too high.

Just got Bertram so straight into the first battle. Another 2 hours and I should be able to go handcuff hunting again. The push is on.

Erik Estrada, more than five (5) days gone and not a single handcuff drop. Running out of time. I have finished the entire weeks event, but still cannot drop a single handcuff. Notify Tinyco, same responses. Extra rare, drops are as they should be. Bought Chopper Quagmire but I refuse to buy anymore items from this event. UGHH,!

I was the same, low handcuffs for first 3 days of timer and then they started dropping very well. I had Lois investigating as much as my police tape would allow. And I got him unlocked last night. Keep at it, and of course respond back to TinyCo, tell them how you feel you shouldn’t be behind when you’ve purchased premium content.

Just unlocked him earlier today, playing premium and still found it tough to get him. The drops seem unreasonable even though the po po a go go was every two hours it still took 2 1/2 days, to get the 3 drops needed for the fan mail. Hopefully drops improve as the event moves along. Based on many of the comments I’ve read on this awesome site I can appreciate the frustration of my fellow addicts. I usually play freemium based on my time constraints but now that I have Erik he won’t be going to tan lines any time soon,I will be letting him patrol the streets of quahog for a while. I am hesitant to invest more hard earned cash on the rest of the event. Come on TinyCo loosen it up a little bit.
