Look out Addicts, as things are definately heating up with the second of the Quahog Heat Event’s Weekly Challenges.
Now in the last couple of events TinyCo seemed to be making these challenges just an eensy weensy teensy bit easier and we were seeing a flourish of happy comments, but then they upped the stakes again in the first challenge of this event, so bev prepared for these to be difficult as the random nature of drops from investigations really leaves things out-with your control in my opinion.
Anyway this week’s challenge, if you should choose to accept it, seems a little daunting at first, but if you’ve managed to stockpile some police tape, or Card Sharks , neither of which will have been an easy ask, then I think both freemium and premium players can have a go at this as it should work in tandem with what a lot of us will be doing right now, clearing Card Sharks. But it might not be easy with the Card Shark drop rate. However if you do manage to complete it you will be rewarded with the The Moustache Ride decoration.
And as per the last few events TinyCo have also released an image of the grand prize should you complete the full set of weekly challenges, the B-Team van.

It should be in your inventory, I just stored mine and they went into the Quahog Heat Tab, if you click on the filter you’ll see the Quahog Heat inventory tab.

I’m getting hacked off with this event. So far I’ve only got 7 sharks, in spite of (relatively) frequent trips to the casino, when tapes allow, and using Kingpin Consuela to up the odds. Got lots of robbers, which helped once. I now can’t progress beyond Let’s Play Some Cards Pt 7 until I get another 11 shells. It’s taken me over a week to get my 7 so far. I thought TC had got this sorted after the previous 2 events, but it seems not. I work from home, so I can check frequently during the day, so it’s not lack of effort.

Another one to add that this is broken. Not only do sharks not appear i’m now finding beech balls coming out of where the tape should do so struggling to investigate rooms. Another fail event, insisting we drop clams to play

That’s a new glitch, are you sure another building isn’t too close and it’s that that is dropping beach balls, if not then please report it to TinyCo.

I am having the same drop rate issues. I don’t even care about the car. I need the sharks to get the conch shells to unlock lois. That is all I need to unlock her.

Agreed! I don’t even want the stupid car but this ridiculous timed event is seriously destroying the card sharks drop rates for lifeguard lois and her conch shells 😦

I’ve been playing this game for two years now and this has to be the worst event they have ever done. Couldn’t get Week 1 challenge because the drop rates of the tape was brutal so couldn’t get enough tape to free enough prisoners in time. Then i lost out on erik estrada because once week 2 launched the Extra Rare handcuffs became even more rare due to the four other drops from the room.
Not very well planned at all in my opinion. 1st week done and i’ve already stopped playing this event. Hopefully the next one will be better.

Since the challenge started I’ve done six searches and gotten zero sharks. But I’ve found Conseula twice.

I got this one done in 20 hours… I had purposely left 8 sharks walking around as I suspected they would be needed for the challenge. I’d also stockpiled around 10 police tape so I could investigate to get the remaining sharks.

I’m done. Burned all the clams I had to buy 2 bunches of 20 tape for 20 investigations with both characters in the first room and got sharks once so that’s it, I give up.

I’ve found all drops on this event to be bad. I managed to get 4 sharks roaming, but yet to get a single video poker machine to drop. Get only one out of a possible 5 police tapes per 4 hours isn’t helping get the room searches going. And completely bobbing on the handcuffs, over 25 searches and only getting 2 drops, so no Erik to help either.

At this point, I’ve having issues getting the tape. I bought the premium building and have received no tapes from it since the quest dropped. With about a day left I’ve only cleared 4 sharks. Extremely frustrating since I was always pulling tape before the quest started.

If you’re talking about the Discount Detectuve Agency building, then my Tape Drops haven’t been great from it either last few days.

I’m having the same unluck. I switch the two characters around (Eric and Mac, Mac And Eric) and try both rooms where the sharks should drop and still only two sharks in over 24 hours.

Consuela is not even a reward indicated and all I seem to be earning is the doughnuts and Consuela. This looks to be the first weekly task I won’t be getting since I stared playing during the massive Star Trek event.

Just over 9 hours to go and still need 10 sharks, never gonna happen. On the plus side, I do have nearly 1000 useless donuts (if only I could transfer them to TSTO).

After 4 turns, finally get 2 sharks. Then neither one drops the “common” seashells. I’ve needed 4 seashells to complete Lois for 2 days now.

Haven’t had a shark drop since a day befor this challamge dropped… which means I still do not even have Lois… I play very frequently so I’m able to send for a room investigation at least every 4 hrs. This is insane, I’m a premium player that won’t even be able to get this because it’s “random”. At this point I just want Lois before the new co tent drops on Wednesday, but at this rate that won’t even happen.

I’m noticing this same exact thing in my game too – since the challenge/update dropped, I’ve sent Peter4 or 5 times and just got donuts only every single time.
It’s ridiculous the drop rates this time around and I thought Tinyco are going in the right direction starting from the kung-fu event last month. It seems for every step ahead they take in the right direction, they always take two steps back after that 😦
This’ll be the first time ever that I’m going to fail in a challenge and it has never happened to me before since I first began playing it in 2014 – a real shame and disappointment on Tinyco’s side how they plan and handle the drop rates.

Same. That shouldn’t even be possible after waiting hours to accumulate tape and another ninety minutes investigating. It’s not a good idea to build in frustration to their events. It’s a “waiting game” on timers and it’s not good when that wait continuously yields little or nothing needed.

I think it’s safe to say that randomly some people get no drops of certain items and some people get them easy… like I got handcuffs easy… but a game should not be so badly random.

Hasn’t been like that for me. If I clear a room while not fighting Consuela I get her and Donuts, if I clear it while I’m fighting her I just get doughnuts. Annoying part is usually I wouldn’t even care about challenge decos, but I grew up watching the shows the cars are from and I really want all 5.

Nothing quite so special as sending Erik and Peter both to search for sharks (while Consuela is already out being battled, which you would think would improve the odds at least mathematically) and getting donuts for both, particularly when you consider how hard it was to get the police tape in the first place …

I’m getting the same results. Had 6 Sharks built up for challenge starting, still got 6/12 as nothing but donuts.

i’ve already predict that this week challenge would be defeating the card shark. since the drop rate are very low, i kept them wondering around the street meaning i try to stock as many card shark as i can. but i noticed that after having 6 card shark in my town (not defeating them down), the chance for getting card shark while searching the rooms become zero!!! THE BOX WITH CARD SHARK FACE WHERE GONE for both rooms!! but after clearing those card shark that i have, it reappear. so i’m assuming that you can only have 6 ‘living’ card shark(max) in your town. hmmm

Yea, challenge was over before it started for me. I do think this is an indication of TinyCo’s expectation of its players. Even for an unlicensed decoration, you must pay if you want it.
Assuming 1 in 3 drop rate for card sharks (optimistic):
18 investigations = 54 police tape needed (I figure 3 tape for a medium chance is better than 2 tape for low)
If I get 3/6 possible police tape every 4 hours (unreasonably optimistic) It’ll take me 3 days, no sleeping.

I made sure to have some around, so I am off to a good start. That being said, of the six I have cleared, only two dropped shells, which is all I need for Lois – meh!

So… Impossible. One would need six drops of two card sharks which I haven’t seen since Thursday. Could we trade donuts for card sharks??? Donuts I get from room investigations, anything else? Not so much. Internal note to TinyCO made it clear that they ‘assure’ me that drops are working as designed. (Wish their reply had been on this device so I could put in the actual quote).
