So we were all promised a surprise announcement during the recent TinyCo Live Q&A, (more on that in a later post), and the big surprise was, well just to tell us what the next event would be, not the end of the game like some had predicted. Although by the reaction to the news that the next event will be a link up with the new Power Rangers movie you’d thought the end was nigh but hey let’s reserve judgement as who knows what the Kaiju Convention will bring to our towns.
So let’s chat a little about what we know so far from the guys at TinyCo’s chat with us. Firstly they revealed there would be a discounted pre sale of a new premium character Rita Repulsa. And you’ll find her in your game just now, with a limited time offer to buy her for 220 clams instead of her 260 clam cost. The timers ticking on this deal, and you can see just how much time you’ve got left by looking at the offer Icon at the bottom right of your screen. Tapping this will bring you up the Here Comes Rita Repulsa screen. You can purchase her from here or through your character tab in your shopping cart. But remember the reduced price is a limited time offer.
Who is she and what can she do in the event, well the first question is easy, she’s the nemesis of our Power Ranger heroes. But the second question is impossible to answer at this time as no information has been given as to what she will do in the event so if you buy her now, you’re not going to know what you are getting until the event starts. As you can see her purchase screen doesn’t give any hints to her use as yet.
Now her discount timer in my game shows the offer will end Wednesday at 3pm Pacific time, and we’ve been told the event starts Wednesday so technically if everything starts as planned you could hold off until the event starts to get her, but if the event start is delayed, which often happens, then you may need to make the decision to buy or not to buy without knowing her event value. It’s for this reason I’m not going to do a Should I Buy just now, because I can’t give you an honest breakdown, however what I will say is I’m thinking about buying her as it’s a full character for a little over 200 clams, and I like the look of her. It’s really as simple as that, lol.
Now the first thing that happens with any new event teaser is we get a chorus of Who, What, Where and When in the comments. Well I don’t know anymore than what the TinyCo guys shared with us in their Q&A but for those who missed it or missed some snippets here’s a few things we do know.
- There’s gonna be Cosplay in Quahog, c’mon we all love a bit of Cosplay, don’t we Bunny, lol.
- A Kaiju Convention is coming to Quahog, so we might get some MONSTERS!!! Please make it so TinyCo.
- According to Jay at TinyCo we’re going see some new gameplay features in this event, and that’s something we’ve been asking for, for a long time.
- And again from the Q&A discussion, the event will likely be a month-long event.
- The Power Rangers haven’t really featured much in the Family Guy TV show, so who knows what to expect with regards to any storyline as yet.
And that’s all we can tell you for now, as we don’t do spoilers here as you know. But I hope to see you all at the Kaiju Convention when it comes to town. I know many of you have already commented that you aren’t Power Ranger fans, hey I’m with you there, but we’re going see new gameplay and maybe some MONSTERS!!! So let’s give it a go.

I vacillate on pre-event purchases, but if it’s a character, I usually pull the trigger…at 220 clams, below the going rate, plus she represents my 100th character, so, why not…I’m not against the non-FG characters if it helps to keep the game going, so they have a couple of events a year that are basically commercials, I’m OK with that…pretty sure we won’t have a chance to get Dulcea, but I’m an addict, LOL!

Hopefully, this event won’t be so horrible like the last one. I loved the power rangers when I was a kid. Maybe Tiny Co will take pity on us freemium players from here on out

I’m more of a nostalgia fan of the Power Rangers from the 90s when I was a kid. I had to google Rita Repulsive because I remember her from the 1990s Power Rangers series but she’s a new version so I think I’ll pass. I’ll have to save my clams for the actual Power Rangers 😊

Saw the movie trailer during Logan. Didn’t make me want to go.
I already play Futurama: Game of Drones. Level 290, so I’ll be playing a new Futurama game for sure as long as I have enough memory.

Are you on about G-Force where they all had, like, bird powers and costumes and that cool spaceship that could turn in to fire? I think it was also called Battle Of The Planets but I always knew it as G-Force as I had a couple of episodes on VHS back when I was a kid. I used to love that show!

Power Rangers. Eesh! Talk about limited appeal. I was too old for this the first time around. Yeah, I’m old! This might be the first event I skip in 2 years. Couldn’t care less.

I loved the first season or two. It was delightfully campy. Most of the show was stock photos of the vehicles, masked stunt doubles doing the fighting, and that wonderfully evil villain and her incompetent hench-monsters. It was on in the very early morning, just before I would be going to sleep after work, so it became a bedtime ritual. (I went through Mr. Rogers and Sailor Moon phases for the same reason.) How could you not love the floating head as their mentor? Of course, I was a few decades older than the target audience, so I was way past the need to be cool.
I thought they ruined it after that, it got too dark and serious and I missed the evil witch and her always out of sync dubbing from the original (Japanese?).
I’d be really interested if the event were based on the original. Not so much if it’s based on the movie or other incarnations.

We should boycott this event and send a message to TinyCo, maybe they will stop with the crap. I’d rather see the real Voltron over the fake one.

They are releasing it due to the NEW Power Rangers Movie is coming out soon and promotion for it is hitting all over the place. Myself personally, I was a Voltron junkie, not Power Rangers… but I am curious to see what they do with the new one is it more resembles Pacific Rim style from previews I have seen. I am always a sucker to see what cool new effects are put out into the “Geek” world of things.
As to the Event itself, we will see. I will still play it just to see how it rolls. But I do know there are a TON of die hard Power Ranger fans out there. I see them at all the Cons every year. 😉

I still think the end of the game is near, maybe not as in “its going to shut down and stop working” but as in, development and time/effort. The events, more often than not, are horrendous with little thought put into them. We havent had a new district in months. We havent had new land in months. Its pretty obvious this game is trending downwards and Futurama will be the new king game of TinyCo.

I think it’s going run for a while, yeah it might not be the top game in their stable once Futurama comes along but I think there’s a bit of life in this game yet.

It’s marketing tie-ins and money, if this does well for them, look for more Quahog strangers stopping by for themed events. Hopefully they are getting enough of a cash boost they go lighter on some clam-heavy parts. I’m looking forward to Michelangelo, Donatello,… what? Wrong Saturday morning show??? Ah well…

Could not care less about the Power Rangers. I bought Rita just because I’ve accumulated a lot of clams over the last few months but it wasn’t because I’m excited. I hope this event does have new features because it’s beginning to get monotonous.

Yeah the movie doesn’t look cheesy like the show. Been looking forward to it for awhile. I followed the TV series for the first run up to the first movie. The movie is based on the original Power Rangers. Looking forward to Wed and seeing what falls into Quahog.

I threw clams to the wind last night and bought Rita. Not normally a thing I would do, but since I actually wanted her and the game always launches late for me, I decided just to go for it.
SPOILERS BELOW:
I also triggered her quest line and literally had a lol moment- apparently, I’m evil too. Her first quest was Be Super Evil (4hrs) and Mort retreaded cowardly. The second was Cast a Spell (4hrs) and Chris Find a New Friend. Currently, she’s Laughing Menacingly (6hrs) and Quagmire is Letting the Gerbil Loose.

I don’t know lot about them, just watched some clips on YouTube and looks really cheesy, like a parody of something else even. But hey maybe that will make it a chilled event if we’re not fans of the characters, less stress than trying unlock something you really want

I was going to give this event a miss as no interest in Power Rangers and bored with current tedious gameplay. However! Given the comments re new gameplay features, I might just give it a try.
The ‘offer’ character though I will give a miss and save clams for ones I may want in the future.

I just can’t come to buy her for 220 clams without knowing anything that she will be able to do at this point. Like many have said before, 150 clams?……..I probably wouldn’t hesitate.
However, I am extremely exited about the 1 day break! Thank you for finally listening Tiny Co!!! Get to finish up some character quest lines and recharge my batteries before having to grind it out again tomorrow.

I thought the “Quahog Heat” event was great. I always enjoy when they have 80s themes in the game. Most of my town is 80s themed now, as it should be, I loved my childhood. The only thing that I would have liked more was to have a “Megahit BETA Rental” instead of the “Megahit VHS rental” in my town. It was always Beta that my family used in the 80s (but I have mentioned that a few times before haven’t I). 😉 Well, I can just pretend that it is a 90s building then (my family did move on to VHS in the 90s).
Speaking of 90s, I guess that we are onto the 90s in the game now, Power Rangers. I think this is the perfect time for me to take a short break as well. I have been wanting to have one for a very long while but it is hard when I have an addiction to this game. Well, don’t we all? This is not called the “addicts” site for nothing is it? 😄
I have always thought of “Power Rangers” as something that my younger cousins enjoyed. I have never heard of this “Rita Repulsive” before, I am sure that my cousins would know who she is though. By the time Power Rangers became popular (especially in Australia), my friends and I were older and never became interested in it. We were interested in other things by that age. 😀
For me – I will just sit back, relax and have a well earned and wanted break for the moment. My fingers are crossed for another 80s event in the not too distant future as well. They always are, it is another one of my addictions. 😄🤞

I must admit that I was a little worried that Futurama may be replacing this game as well. I am very glad that this is not the case (not yet anyway), as we have all spent so much time (and yes, clams 🤑) on it. Hopefully this game will still continue for a few more years to come. 🤞

I am thinking about buying Rita as well. I rarely spend clams so it might be nice to have something premium for a change. All I hope for is a better event than Quahog Heat as I stopped playing after getting stuck during the first phase.
