It’s Morphin’ Time!!
With this new Mighty Morphin’ Griffin Rangers event, we also get some New Characters. Characters like Red Ranger!
Let’s take a look at what Red Ranger can do in our silly lil games.
Red Ranger is a Character added during Mighty Morphin’ Griffin Rangers 2017. As with (almost) all Characters in TQFS in order to unlock him you’ll have to collect lots of STUFF.
First though, you had to find him in the event area next to the Ice Cream Van. It costs $10 & takes 10s to unlock. When you unlock him this will trigger his 7 day timer! Note that you will be prompted to unlock him at The Family that Cosplays Together Pt. 5.
With him now visible next to the Ice Cream Van, you can tap on the Lock Icon to see just what is required to bring him into your game.

13 T Power Morpher (Common): T Zord Roar Uncontrollably
13 Stuffed Tyrannosaurus (Common): Bruce Hit the Hay OR Lord Zedd’s Sleeping Chamber (Smoothie Bar)
14 Thunder Slinger (Uncommon): Kaiju Zoo (Smoothie Bar)
9 Blade Blaster (Uncommon): Clear Red Ranger Cosplayers
11 Wrist Communicator (Extra Rare): Mort Sell Used Electronics OR Herbert Play With Walkie-Talkies OR Cosplay Costume Shop (Smoothie Bar)
Once you had all his Requirements checked off, the Unlock Icon appeared over his head. Tapping on it brought him into your game as a Character.
He does come with a Questline, Roll Out the Red Carpet, more on it in a later post.
Red Ranger does come with a complete set of Tasks! Tasks that will help you earn $$$ & XP. He can also combine with the T. Zord to give it more energy!
Let’s take a look at some of Red Ranger’s Tasks:

**Note: Within an Event, tasks may change and vary as the Phases come and go. So some of these tasks will be temporary. Others may be one time use. Some will stick around even after the Event. We won’t know until the Event Ends.

Kicked off the timer a week too early, so with 24 hours left I’m short all 14 Thunder Slingers and six extra rare (EXTRA RARE?! WTD) Wrist Communicators. I’m done with this event.

Need green souvenir cups to purchase buildings that drop necessary items to unlock red ranger. It says wait for kaiju (sp?) to appear also. He(she,it) hasn’t. So, I’m guessing it’s not gonna happen, being a timed character. With the 11 extra rare items you need to get plus the multitude of uncommon items, this is not gonna happen for me. I don’t even care about power rangers, so I don’t particularly care. Although, the cartoon version of repulsa looks like Ariana grande to me and I think I want her for that reason. Maybe she should have a donut licking task. Pfft.

“The family that cosplays together pt. 5” is the only task. Well, that and “unlock the red ranger”. I didn’t want to start the timer until I could get the buildings that drop the necessary items.

The Earth Kaiju won’t appear until you get to The Family Tht Cosplays Together Pt 6, so I’m afraid you need to start the timer on Red Ranger to starting defeating the Earth Kaiju to get the Green Souvenir Cups

Like many others I am having issues with the drop rates. I only need 2 thunder slingers and two communicators, but haven’t seen a communicator in a couple of days. Really frustrating since I spent clams to get Rita Repulsa and also got the buildings for the drops right about the time I started the Red Ranger timer. Have about 11 q/2 hours left so fingers crossed…

Just need the watches, but I only have 6 out of 11 with 2 days left on the timer. Ughh!

Looks like I’m in the same boat as others.
I have 3 days left and I have A LOT of items still needed to unlock red. The drop rate for me has been absolutely awful! I had to use some clams to get Peter or I would be really behind!
I’m afraid I will end up doing the same for red ranger or just miss out on him and all my energy trying to get him be wasted.

Im struggling more with Thunder Slingers than Watches.. I’d go as far to say that over the past 2yrs I’ve experienced issues where Uncommon drops seem far worse than Rare/Extra Rare drops.
Given theres also only 1 way to collect the Thunder Slingers, if you have a bad day with drop rates then it can potentially mess everything up.
I’ve got close to 2 days left on the timer and about half to collect so if I’ve still got issues in the final 12-24hrs i’ll give TinyCo a message.

I am in the same boat. Managed to get all the unlock items except for 6 Thunder Slingers and I’ve got less than 18 hours left on my timer. I pretty much need them to drop every single time in my time remaining. That said, since the cost to purchase the clams is under 100 clams now, I’ll probably try to earn the remaining items and simply pay clams for the remainder.
This is Erik Estrada all over again, except last time, I couldn’t log in to pay off Erik Estrada because I was working. 🙂

Thankfully I bought the watch building before I started the timer, and now with just over 2 days to go I have everything except 4 thunderslingers. No problems this time around. I found the watched came in surges – day long droughts followed by like 3-4 at a time.

I still have a bit less than 4 1/2 days left on the timer but I continue to get nothing from the three sources for communicators as it ticks off. Even though I’ve wisely waited to start timed unlocks I’ve had to spend clams to finish them lately due to poor drops.

I unlocked him today with a day spare… I’m surprised people had trouble with the communicators as I didn’t even bother to buy that building. I only buckled on buying the Sleeping Chamber as I needed 5 in 2 days… So with drops only every 8 hours it was going to be too close. I bought the red ranger room today too, so I’m just waiting for Week 2

I agree, I never ever complain about drops as I usually never have a problem but I’m down to 1 day and 14 hours left on timer and I have only gotten 4 of them…Been sending Bruce and Herbert out every 4 hours even while sleeping and have been collecting the building and still only 4

Bought all three drop buildings at the same time before starting the timer. Not a single drop from any of them in the first 24 hours. Restarted my Kindle and finally got a pair of thunder slingers. Keeping my fingers crossed that I start getting more drops.

I’ve got 5 communicators of 11, all from character drops going at it since I unlocked him. The Cosplay Costume Shop has not dropped one since I have had it, a couple days. Mentioned before, but, seriously? Extra rare on a timed character. Remember TinyCo Tecj Support mantra… “Thank you for being a patient player”

This event has all the same bad omens as the last one. Horrible drops on timed event characters. really!! Missed Erik Estrada in the last one for the same thing. Didn’t ever get past the point to even try for the others. This looks to be much the same as, I have a little over two days left for the red ranger but so many items needed left to get. At this point I’m just about done with this “Game”. It’s been a really fun almost 4 years, but enough is enough. These posts have been a really great help though. Thank you so much!

wrist communicators are a real problem with extra rare drops for a timed character, unless the drops improve, 31 clams per is highway robbery i tell ya!

I have everything but the stuffed Tyrannosaur, and should have those tomorrow as Bruce has been an always drop so far (decided to let him grind them out vs. use 24 keychains) vs. common.

Yeah, I ended up buying the chamber with 24 keychains when I had 48 hours to go and needed 5. I’m a bit sad to waste them on a now-useless building, but I still have another 25-30 so I should be fine

I think this is the worst drop rate I ever had for an event. I’ve been working on unlocking Red Ranger for over 5 days and have a whomping total of 3 watches. I only got Kaiju Zoo for Thunder Slinger a day or two ago and have 4. My best bet right now is to get the rest of the Thunder Slingers and pay clam difference for remaining watches to unlock.

Yes I have 3/11 now, but they really are extra rare, not great on a timed character. Fingers crossed they pick up.

Terrible drops for me. Need 1 more wrist communicator and 4 more of the whole blasters. I haven’t had one drop from the Zoo in days.
