  1. Almost think I can finish this one on time for once. Not just not behind, but early. The blue ranger seems a lot easier to unlock than the red one was too. Had to end up spending clams on that one to hurry the last building drop and to buy the rest of the rare watch-looking things.

    • I disagree… I finished the Red Ranger with a day to spare, but I have 4 days left for Blue Ranger and am sitting at 0 for a few items, despite constant efforts.

      • Luck with the drops vary, true. Just had suck bad luck with the power bracelet watch thingies last time. Only thing for Blue I’m a little worried about is the tricerotops plushies. Have 1 so far with 4 days left. Have Joe’s outfit now though, so it should be eaiser going with those now.

        • Yeah, I got Joe’s outfit too but for Blue Ranger I’m still 1/5 on those Triceraptops Toys, 5/7 Juice, and 3/7 Exams. I have everything else. I’m going to go through my stockpile of red crystals, but blue attacks are going to be tough (as it takes 16 hours per attack). 3 days 4 hours to go. I’m not particularly bothered either way as I don’t really care for this event.

  2. A little surprised (and pleased) that I was able to unlock the Blue Ranger today with no clams spent, unlocked the Joe costume with no clams spent yesterday, and sprung a few clams (less than 40 – don’t remember the exact amount) for the Brian costume two days ago having missed four solid days due to vacation…even though the event has seemed to creep along, it’s been OK…campaigning crystals seems the way to go – collect them until you can attack deep enough into the Kaiju to earn what is needed, then collect again, even if it takes a day or so…purposely didn’t purchase the way-over-priced Bonnie costume, and it hasn’t seemed to hurt too much…

I’m almost done with Part 7 (just waiting to clear more Putties) and haven’t purchased any buildings that weren’t needed with the exception of the brain-$@#& decision to purchase the satellite dish the first week, which turned out to be a really expensive deco…

I’ve noticed (at least it’s been my experience) that the timed characters drops seem to accelerate as the timer gets closer to the end – I had few if any drops for both the Red and Blue Rangers in the first two days, but once the timers got to Day 4, the drops accelerated…again, that was my experience, not sure of TinyCo writes the algorithms that way, or just the algorithm lottery for me in this event…

So, for me, so far, so good…I’m not ever concerned with completing the main quest line in an event as there is generally no incentive other than having it done (hint, hint, TinyCo), so the focus next week will be to earn the Green Ranger…or Black Ranger…not being a big fan, I’m not sure, but I think those are the only ones left…

Full post just gone up, but to answer your specific question, weak does 2 damage (but costs 3 energy), medium does 5 damage (but costs 5 energy) and Strong does 10 damage (but costs 12 energy). Using your 4 Blue Crystals to create basic Zord gives you only a 3 energy Zord , so you can only defeat him at Heart Level 2 with those 4 crystals.

      • so to defeat him at medium i will need at least 8 crystals

If you don’t have Blue Ranger Joe, you will need 4 blue crystals to energise the Zord and defeat him using Weak at the 2 Heart Level. And I’m afraid again without Joe you will only be able to use the Weak attack at the 5 Heart Level, as your Zord will only have 3 energy, which isn’t enough to use the medium attack, so you’d need attack him with his Weak task 3 times to defeat him, costing you 12 blue crystals. So that’s why I just hit at the 2 Heart then let him time out and return. Once you have Joe, you can create an 8 energy Zord, and this will let you defeat the 2 and 5 Heart Levels for only 4 blue crystals.

  4. Here to report that I’m on Ranger Danger Pt. 4, and in addition to the conditions you have listed, I’m also required to clear 12 Putty Cosplayers (as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/8ZUEsN1.jpg).

  5. in my opinion you shouldn’t repair the blue ranger until you get 16 blue subcrystals if you are playing freemium and cant combine. you can only defeat the water kaiju freemium on the 2 heart level with 8. no reason to unlock him before 16 crystals are gotten, which will allow you to beat the 2nd 5 heart level and get the paint can(I hope). any different views?

You can defeat the 2 level Water Kaiju in one attack, so 4 blue crystals is enough. I advise attacking when you get 4 at the 2 heart level until you get the 2 blue spray cans. If you wait to build up 16 crystals you can attack him at the 2 and 5 level, but as blue spray paint is not always guaranteed to drop, if you don’t get the 2 your going need wait to get more crystals to go again. If you defeat him at 2 heart with 4 crystals, you will then have another 4 crystals to attack him at this level again by the time he times out and comes out his slumber. Remember he has a long timer to run down, 14hrs and then 6hrs slumber, so that’s 20 hours to be gathering 4 crystals.

      • Agree. Best strategy for freemium players may be to start 7 day timer after stockpiling 4 blue crystals and defeat Water Kailua at 2 heart level every 20 hours. For me, ZERO spray paint cans after 2 defeats. Since I got everything except the spray cans for Blue Ranger Joe, I’m considering spending the 71 cams for the 2 spray paint cans.

It takes the patience of a saint and very strong willpower not to pull that clam trigger when you get no drops like that. I definitely see why you’re thinking of spending the clams, whatever you decide good luck getting the Blue Ranger.
