Mighty Morphin Griffin Rangers 101: Boss Battle – DragonZord

Welcome to the year of the Dragon, where the monsters are now in control!

With Mighty Morphin Griffin Rangers Phase 4 underway there’s another new monster to battle, the Green DragonZord. and I’m here to help you defeat him.

Let’s take a look and see exactly how to attack and ultimately defeat him as well as chatting about everything he’ll be dropping during this phase of the event.

For more information on the Event, go HERE

WHEN WILL THE DRAGONZORD APPEAR IN MY QUAHOG?

You will start to see the Water Kaiju in Quahog once you trigger Part 3 of Mighty Morphin Griffin Rangers.

WHERE WILL THE DRAGONZORD APPEAR IN MY QUAHOG?

The DragonZord will appear in the lower right corner of the Event Area and looks like this.

WHAT ARE THE DRAGONZORD HEART LEVELS?

You will need to attack and defeat the DragonZord at various heart levels, and you will receive different rewards for each level you defeat. The Heart Levels are 2, 8, 10, 20, 30 and you will receive different rewards for each.

You will also notice he has a timer above his head which tells you how long you have to defeat him through all of his 5 heart levels before he goes into a Cool Down and resets to the lowest heart level once again. The total time you have to fully defeat him through his heart levels is only 1 hour, so be mindful of this when planning your attacks.

WHAT ARE THE DRAGONZORD HEART LEVEL REWARDS?

The rewards for defeating him at each Heart Level are as follows, but please bear in mind the Blue PowerCon Hat is a rare drop, and the Sword of Darkness is an uncommon drop, none of these are always drops, and we’ve yet to see any Blue PowerCon Hats drops at the 20 Heart Level in our games, so we can’t give any details on the potential amount of them that might drop at that level, the same goes for the Sword of Darkness at the 30 Heart Levels.  And again, remember they are not always drops, so even the verified amounts in the table are not guaranteed when you defeat that Heart Level. Please feel free to share any drops you’ve seen that we haven’t.

WHAT DO I NEED TO ATTACK THE DRAGONZORD?

You need a few things, first you’ll need at least 3 White Zeo SubCrystals which you can get these from: Clearing Bllack Ranger Cosplayers or Purchasing packs from your Store. These can then be used to energize your White Tiger Zord to defeat the DragonZord.

Secondly you’ll want to collect some Zeo SubCrystals, you’ll  need at least 3 Zeo SubCrystals which you can get these from: Defeating the Earth Kaiju, Flame Kaiju & Water Kaiju or Purchasing packs from your Store. These can then be used to energize your MegaZord.

Once you have these you will need to use them to Combine (energize) your White Tiger Zord or/and MegaZord in the PowerCon Command Centre, as these are what you use to attack the DragonZord. You’ll find full details on combining your White Tiger Zord DinoZord  HERE and you’re MegaZord HERE.

WHAT ARE THE ATTACK TASKS TO DEFEAT THE DRAGONZORD?

Your White Tiger Zord has 2 Tasks that allow you to Attack and ultimately eventually Defeat the DragonZord at his various heart levels, be aware that each task costs a set amount of energy to complete so use the tasks wisely. The tasks are as follows.

White Tiger Zord Task:

Cost of Task: 4 Energy
Duration of Task: 45 Seconds
Reward for Task Completion: 3 PowerCon Pin, 7 Leaderboard Medals & 30xp

Your MegaZord has 2 Tasks that allow you to Attack and ultimately eventually Defeat the DragonZord at his various heart levels, be aware that each task costs a set amount of energy to complete so use the tasks wisely. The tasks are as follows.

MegaZord Task:
Attack DragonZord – 8 Damage
Cost of Task: 8 Energy
Duration of Task: 45 Seconds
Reward for Task Completion: 1 PowerCon Pin, 3 Leaderboard Medals & 30xp

Cost of Task: 10 Energy
Duration of Task: 45 Seconds

And remember if you fully defeat the DragonZord during an attack you will also get the rewards listed for defeating him at the different heart levels in the table further above.

HOW DO I USE TASKS TO ATTACK DRAGONZORD?

Simply energize your White Tiger Zord or/and MegaZord and select the most energy efficiencent task or tasks from the Attack tasks available, basically you want to defeat the DragonZord whilst using up the least amount of energy.

You can select the task in one of two ways, either tap your White Tiger Zord or MegaZord  and select the task you want to use from the  Attack DragonZord Tasks.

Or simply tap on the DragonZord and you will see the Attack The DragonZord screen pop up.

Then simply click on Attack and you’ll see your Attack options, they are 2 for the MegaZord, 8 & 10  Damage, and 2 options for the White Tiger Zord, 8 & 10 Damage. However which Damage amount you will select will depend on the Zord you are using and the Heart Level you are trying to defeat. You can send both Zords into battle at the same time if you want, but make sure you don’t waste energy by doing more damage than is necessary.

So basically look closely at the Heart Level of the DragonZord and then plan what is the cheapest way to fully defeat him using the various Attack tasks. Once your chosen task is underway you will see your White Tiger Zord or/and MegaZord attacking the DragonZord and clicking on him will show you the tine remaining.

And once the Task is complete you simply need to tap the check mark, if you defeated the DragonZord, you can simply collect your rewards. If you just damaged him you will need to attack him again until he is fully defeated.

But remember you only have 1 hour to defeat the DragonZord  up to his highest heart level of 30,  before the DragonZord will “Escape”.  When he’s escaped, which last just 1 hour also, he will vanish from your Event Area, and you’ll just see this.

Tapping on the area will bring you up the following box.

This tells you how long until the DragonZord returns,  and the clam cost to bring him back immediately, please note this clam cost will vary depending on what heart level he was defeated to when he escaped. Once he returns he will be back at Heart Level 2, and you can start trying to defeat him to the top-level again.

And there you have it the all the info about the DragonZord and his drops. How are you getting on attacking the DragonZord. Are you winning the battle or will you be needing re-energised before trying again? Got any battle strategies to share with your fellow addicts? And are you enjoying the event so far? Tell us in the comments as you know we lone hearing from you.

  2. fyi chart says 36 level heart. so..i have 1 zeo crystal and cant count on getting 2 more before Wednesday(ive gotten 7 since Thursday). so I have to count on my white zord to defeat this guy. that’s 3 white rods per attack of 2 freemium(no white pr). I can get 24 max white rods before this thing ends. that’s 8 attacks. I have 14 white rods now, that’s 4 more attacks for a total of 12. so that’s 24 heart levels, so maybe I can beat him at the 10 heart level.

question/opinion regarding getting swords/hats? if YOU had 24 white attacks, would you try for the 10 heart level? or the 8 level twice? or the 2 level 12 times? I mean with the 1 hour healing time, all is possible there.

    • I’d go for the 2, 8 & 10 if I had enough crystals. In the hope of getting 6 Swords at the 8 & 10 level, I did just that last night. But it’s so random no guarantee you’d get the same.

  3. I got two swords at heart level 10 (and none at heart level 8). 😦
At least I seem to be getting one at heart level two most time …

    • I got 6 swords at Heart Level 10, it didn’t look like that many on the drop visual but when I checked my total Swords I’d got 6, so double check you only got 2.
