Hey there Clammers!
Getting a lot of comments and concerns regarding the disappearance of Clam TV from our games, so thought I’d try to settle the clam before the storm with a little post.
Ok, so basically some of us were having crashing issues when Clam TV was appearing in our games or whilst we were trying to watch the commercials and this was adding to the general crashing and freezing the Quahog’s Excellent Adventure event has been causing. I know very well the frustrations of this, as despite having 2 brand new and highest memory IOS devices I was having the worst crashing and freezing issues I’ve had since I started to play over 3 years ago. Other players were reporting the same, both here in the comments and obviously to TinyCo. In fact a big proportion of our recent comments related to either issues with Clam TV crashing or issues with not players not receiving Clams earned for watching Ads or completing Offers. So in order to get to the bottom of this issue TinyCo have removed the option for us to get free clams in these ways, BUT DON’T WOERY, it’s just temporary. Clam TV will be back!!! In fact if you’re on Android you might be seeing it already. But if you’re on IOS like me,nI know you are still missing it, I do to, that opportunity for free clams every day is very valuable to us players, and I know it’s frustrating to be missing out on them, but as I said they will be back. So just make sure you keep your game updated to the latest version and as soon as we hear Clam TV is back, we’ll let you know!!! But in the meantime all I can say is Keep Clam and Carry On.

Thanks Tigger. I’m on Android and haven’t seen a clam tv for 3 or 4 days, but I knew if I dropped by the site, one of you ladies would have the low down on what was going on.Thanks again for all your hard work.

The offers are back in my iOS app, but the watch button is greyed out. The new option to get clams from installing apps works.

I did several of the offers and, after several days without getting the clams I put in a request for something like 5 of the offers. They were all denied almost immediately. I am guessing thats because I didn’t have a screenshot for each one showing I had signed up for stuff like free M&M’s and what ever else. Too bad. Now I wont even try anymore. What’s the point if I’m just going to be shot down?

It is letting me do the clam offers but not the videos. Many of the clam offers I wont even attempt. A few take a long time to get the clams and one didn’t give me anything at all even though I got to level 3 (requirement was complete level 2)

There was an update to the iOS app last night. I was told it was supposed to fix the freezing. It was better yesterday, but this morning I got another 15 second freeze. Still no clam TV though.

I miss the extra clams from Clam TV, but I agree with TinyCo that it’s better to suspend the feature to avoid crashes if needed. So, reluctant thumbs-up on this one.
Maybe I’m not missing the extra clams as much because I’m still getting clams from the clam-generating fountain.

Just updated app and tried clam TV. It’s still crashing, hasn’t been fixed. It’s been like this for weeks now. It does seem to happen with particular ads. One plays the start of a jingle, then the game restarts. Another, there’s just a loading icon in the middle of the screen, then restart. Other ads work fine including interactive ones. It’s just something about those two ads.

it’s been like this for what a week week and a half to 2weeks so far! I mean at least for my game anyways. i’m on iOS absolutely NEEDING these so bad since i’m always strictly freemium playing and i have only a few hours left to unlock Tehuantl but i ONLY need 5-6 of those feather shields OMG GRRRR and that is it…😑😓😤😡😔😖😩😫

I did the offer for downloading mobile strike and when the notification popped up to tell me I received the clams, my game froze on that screen! It’s been 3 days now and every time I open the app, it just freezes on that screen! I can’t get past it to even contact tiny co for help. Any idea what I can do??? I’m afraid to uninstall for fear I’ll lose my progress.

If you’ve saved your game to an account or Facebook you shouldn’t lose your game, also take a screenshot of your loading screen digits. Finally you could email TinyCo, help@tinyco.com if you can’t send an in game message. Before you do make sure you updated to the latest version as it was supposed help issue with Clam TV

Since I have my account saved on Facebook, I deleted the app and reinstalled, and when I logged back into my account, it wasn’t frozen and I got the clam reward.

I’m on Android. I noticed a Google Playstore update so I updated. FYI. I’m still on week two so I don’t know if the update came last night or is an earlier update.

It was back in my game yesterday on Android, but just with the option of watching videos and not the completing of questionnaires to get 3 clams

Clam TV was working fine for me [back when it was still in my game]. The only time it would crash was when a “game demo” appeared (even after ONLY selecting the “video” option). Since the game demos started appearing, the game would crash whenever one would appear. It was always fine when it was actually just a “video” though. I always dreaded the demos appearing.. Hopefully this is an issue that they are currently working on. 🤞

Same here, it was only these awful ‘test game’ shooter type things where they make you play a little bit for 30 seconds before you can close the video, which killed the game. Typical overreaction of TinyCo to stop it altogether rather than going back to when it was working fine…

I’ve had very few issues with crashing in this game probably mainly due to the fact that I am always running it on the newest iPhone. However ever since this event started my game has been freezing for about 5-10 seconds every time I open the game. While not as bad as crashing, this freeze is completely new and has only occurred during this event

Same here, lot of freezing, but I’m also having some crashing, and I’m on latest iPhone. Hopefully just event contained.

No crashing (iPad Air 2 or iPhone 7 Plus), but I’m getting the 15 second freezes that happen shortly after opening the game. It’s annoying, but fortunately it happens once per session.
I miss the clam tv though. When I reported it missing the response I got back was that not everyone sees clam tv and sometimes it’s removed for certain players. I’m glad to hear that’s not the case.

Thanks, obviously something going on in my game that’s causing it to crash. I’ll have a play around later. I can live with the freezing until the end of the event.

For many many years, I was ios all the way! Talking everybody into changing. Then a few years ago, I decideed to try the Samsung note 4. I’ve never looked back. People told me android was awesome, but I wouldn’t listen. Now I can’t imagine going back to iPhone. Try it try it! Lol

To be completely honest for many, many years I was Android, Samsung phone, blah, blah…. But then I went to the dark side, and there I’ve stayed trapped with my range of IOS stuff, lol. I’ve an Android tablet kicking around somewhere, maybe time to dust it off and see if I can get my free clams again, lol.

I just love the things that can be done with the stylus. I’d imagine it’s the same you can do on iOS without the stylus. Lol

What are these “offers” I keep reading about? I’ve never seen them. Do you have to be at a certain point in the game to get them?

I think they just randomly appear, I only saw them for first time few weeks ago, whereas others have been complaining about them for months.

Also depends on the version you play on, they only appear on the mobile versions and not on the facebook version

I’d love to see a blog post on the clam offers because as far as I’m concerned they don’t work. I’ve installed apps and “ran” them or played the “tutorial” and no additional clams.

I can’t do a post simply because the Offers although they recently appeared in my game, they don’t work, game just crashes if I select it, so no way for me to see or pull info for a post unfortunately.
