Hey there Addicts, so we find ourselves in the roaring 20’s, but unfortunately all the roaring seems to be directed at TinyCo as we’re all finding this Chapter 1 of Peter’s Prohibition Party tough going. So I thought with the countdown timer just hitting the half-way mark now would be a good time to ask how everyone’s doing.
Anyway on to the poll and unlike most things in FGQFS, this is a pretty easy poll, it’s just three questions and you’ll see the results updating immediately as the poll gets completed by your fellow addicts.

To unlock Johnny, I just have 1 item for his wishlist left: Complete Quest “Axes to Grind” – smash 74 Barrels. I have 64 of 74 done with only 2h 33m remaining.

I’ve unlocked Peter’s outfit & Johnny but had to use about 250 clams. Mostly saved up from watching ads but bought some with Google Rewards cash. I just can’t play every 4 hrs and got sick of missing out on everything, hopefully it will give me a head start for the rest of the event.

I’m down to needing to smash just 6 more barrels with 6 1/2 hours left. I’ve spent a clam each to slightly speed up the last few cycles. Kind of in a bad spot because if I do nothing I’ll end up just a couple short – far too close to not spend clams to unlock Johnny but the timer is off enough that I’ll have to spend more than I want (or should have to). 😦

Finished! Only used a few free clams here and there. Like 1 just to speed up collecting axes. But if I saw that one of them didn’t drop, I quickly turned of my Wi-Fi and exited the game and went back to collect on the one that would drop. It seemed no matter how many times I did that trick, the outcome was the same. If they didn’t drop the first time, they were not going to drop if I kept exiting and coming back. Just glad to be done!

I got them both, but I had to buy 1 bundle of 11 axes. The baby oil got very generous towards the end.

I answered the poll when you posted it and I’m practically in the same place now. This was (I can already consider myself out of it since Week 2 will probably be the same) the most frustrating and unfair event ever. It’s Tuesday 9pm and I’ve received only 6 whiskey glasses since Sunday morning, and Bruce and Joe drop axes only once a day.
I really wanted Johnny – I loved that pair – but it just won’t happen. I’d need 675 clams to buy the materials for Peter’s outfit, the axes for the quest and the remaining buildings I need to unlock him. That’s too much. In my currency it’s near a fifth of what my boyfriend and I spend monthly in the supermarket to get food for the whole month. I was willing to buy some axes to complete ‘Axes to Grind’, after all, I save some for a reson, but I won’t spend that many. I got really disappointed with this one 😦

I gave up a few days ago… progress was too slow and much as I like smashing kegs with axes, it didn’t seem as though I had any chance of unlocking Peter or Johnny anyway. 😦
I check in here to see what’s going on and check the game daily to see if clam tv is back yet (it’s not, iPhone). But I’ve picked up a lot of clams anyway from game app offers that just require getting to a certain level, so that feature is definitely working well. Have run out of interesting ones for me, though. Not into war or anything that requires a credit card; like funny animals and puzzle or solitaire card games. Warriors have loads of options, however. I tried a survey offer but it was ridiculously convoluted so I quit trying. Same with free sample things, they wasted too much time and not in a fun way. But I’ve enjoyed the new games I tried in my pursuit of clams.
Maybe the second part will be more interesting for me. Like Brian’s costume but won’t pay clams for it. Peter already has a similar costume among the skatillion costumes in his closet. And I’m not all that into the ghost characters… but these events are like buses. If you miss one, there will another one coming by soon! So I’ll just pick up clams so I’ll be all set when I see things in the store that I really want in later events.

So far still so bad,,,, a 2 week mini event was nice but tiny co didnt seem to check the math with the drops to find out you can’t get enough axes to break barrels without going the sleep deprivation route and hoping. Maybe i could buy axes or rush finish with clams, but their new feature to watch a video for free clams doesn’t work and the option to do an “offer” does work it just doesn’t pay you your clams because they are stuck “pending”. Great fail this time tiny co.

Not really seeing a scenario where I can get Johnny without buying a huge axe bundle. 59 out of 74 barrels and still need 4 baby oils for Peter. Not gonna happen with only 25 hours left short of them being really generous with drops. Pretty unlikely.

Got Peter costume but no hope of the 21 barrels to get Johnny. Especially as he now has a timer above his head which is five hours less than chapter one conclusion.

Has anyone had their timer issue resolved or clarified upon? Mine also still shows 8hours less than chapter end, and I haven’t had a response from TinyCo. I don’t know if I have enough time to earn my final 8 whiskey barrels or not!!!

There response to me was to ignore the timer on Johnny, it wouldn’t impact play and go by the main icon timer, but players are reporting that Johnny has vanished when his timer expired. Are you seeing this!!!

In my game Johnny´s timer ran out (9hrs before chapter 1 timer) and he vanished from the game. I have to get 6 more axes to complete chapter 1. Now it´s not worth it to buy axes just to complete Johnny´s questline as I cannot get Johnny anymore, right?

I’d take a screenshot showings he’s disappeared from Vaudeville whilst their is still time on the icon counter at the bottom and send it to TinyCo now. And I’d keep collecting incase although you don’t see him he can still be unlocked

I’m pretty sure now I have little chance for Johnny without using a bunch of clams and it all has to do with bad luck drops. I haven’t missed a 4 hr spawn in the last 24 hours (and few since it started) and in that time I’ve only improved from 41 to 49 smashed barrels and gone from needing 37 more whiskey to 27. I just need one more baby oil so unless Burlesque Peter vastly improves axe drop rate it may be too late.

I’m 28/36 of horns and 12/26 of baby oils on Peter. I don’t even count on getting Johnny in time. The drops are ridiculous and only 2 regular characters doing any item drop tasks with terrible drop rates is bulls***

Can we get clarification as to exactly what needs to be completed to move to the second week? Do we have to get Johnny to play the second week? Do we have to finish each part of the main quest line before the timer expires to get the second week? If I make it, it will be right at the end but I will not complete the quest line before the timer expires for sure. I will need Peter for barrels to get to that number and I can’t use him for barrels, Johnny’s tasks and the main quest line. If completing the quest line doesn’t matter then I can focus on barrels and Johnny. Thanks!

You don’t need Johnny but having him may be a help in Chapter 2. I honestly don’t know regarding the main Questline, I’m presuming you won’t need to complete it as everything related to Chapter 1 will just expire once Chapter 2 launches. But I can’t say for sure,it’s just my thinking.

To clear 74 whiskey barrels, you need 74 axes. Let’s round up to 75. Every 4 hours you can try to get 3 without Burlesque Peter — one given automatically, two from characters that are uncommon drops. 75 needed divided by 3 per drop-time equals 25 drops, which times 4 equals 100 hours. As there are 168 hours in a week, that leaves 68 hours of non-game time (eating, sleeping, showering, commuting, etc.), assuming perfect timing on the 4-hour drops, and *always* getting an *uncommon* item.
Yes, it can be done. If you’re willing to use clams. This game is moving past holding my attention because of the difficulty of completing even quick events. I get that it’s freemium, but it’s no longer being fun. Other freemium games are fun *and* have achievable goals (see: The Simpsons Tapped Out).
Just my 2 clams’ worth.

A quick reminder to all who wants to unlock Johnny. Once you manage to unlock Peter’s costume, you still need to send him off on one task, completion of which will then unlock Johnny. Havent got to that stage yet so not sure how long the task takes.
Just saying in case some of you assumes all is done once Peter is unlocked. Drats the baby oil!

Gonna go all conspiracy theorist here, I wonder if Tinyco is making the drops harder to push us towards the Futurama game? I don’t think that I will unlock either the costume or Johnny before the timer expires though.

Interesting theory! Fresh game, fresh start scenario. Only problem is if Futurama plays out like Quest For Stuff players will give up on it quickly as they know TinyCo tend to stick to their game plan no matter what.

More likely this event has drop glitches or was poorly designed for such a short event. I didn’t like the “one week at a time then push on to the next phase” approach the first time they tried it, either (Halloween? Peter was a sheriff, ghosts and aliens etc.) and I always hate timed unlocks. But I don’t like to feel stressed in a game. I don’t mind if I don’t get through all the phases, but I guess other people find that disappointing so I think TinyCo is trying to fix that. Just doesn’t work well for me personally.

I’ve been noticing in the last few challenges that the closer you get to unlocking a character, the less and less drops happen. I have 3 characters working to drop axes and I’m lucky to get 1 ax every 4 hours. Additionally, not all of the buildings are dropping whiskey.

I like that the answers to the poll showed straight away. It appears I’m behind in the event like the majority. Seems like the poll has not been picked up by TinyCo to give anyone a helping hand as the game just displayed a ‘week 1 is ending soon’ screen.
This game was fun when it was about the quest for stuff and not the quest for stuff to get other stuff needed to unlock buildings to get stuff for characters.

For Johnny I just need 2 more which are Peter’s task and I have 59/74 barrels. It’s those baby oils that are killing me. I’ve not had any drop since yesterday. I’m so close, yet so far away!

In a similar position. I’ve had zero drops from Bruce and Joe for 12 hours. If that keeps up it will be impossible to unlock Johnny. I’m guessing TC has no interest in the above poll assuming they even see it.

I’m not sure how much for feedback we as player can give them. We all want the game to be better, but we need TinyCo to act on some of the things we tell them. It frustrates me every bit as much as other players.

I was going ok but since I finished the rest of the items for Peter yesterday Baby Oil has stalled completely with not a single one in over 24 hours. Still need 8 to finish him.
Need Peters task, the radio tower and 22 Barrels for the other guy.

Same here… I need 3 oil and all I’m getting is whiskey… whenever I can get axes, which have slowed down too. I do need the whiskey, but I’m so far off getting the tower I don’t really care about getting Johnny anymore. I refuse to spend a single clam on this one.

ive been playing for years, and it seems that slowly slowly it has become nearly impossible to get anywhere without using clams… this event for sure is ridiculous and I am putting down my tablet for awhile. toobad because I am a premium player…

“Axes to grind” is an impossible task. I got 38 through5 days. If I can get 36 in the next 2 days …….. well you know. I play every 4 hrs except when I sleep .

Got Burlesque Peter last night and he’s been an axe duty since. Drops have gotten better for me. Usually 2 for every 3 attempts (not counting the free one). Need 3 more whiskey to get the tower and 9 more barrels to smash. Should be complete by tomorrow morning. As of writing this, 29 hours left.

this event seemed like it was going to be interesting but the drops make it frustrating once again. just sent tinyco a message that on android the drops for baby oil are ridiculous. almost done with peter except 8/26 baby oil. even if they up the drops wont get peter in time to help get johnny. thanks for the poll, not only for tinyco…like seeing that I was in the highest percentage on each progress question. I am not alone.

I am on Android as well, and thought that baby oil drops were dropping like what a rare item should be. Collected 22/26 with 2 days to go. The irony is that I seem to manage to get most of the required buildings without having Peter, as I just lack 2 more. Perhaps Peter is most needed to get more Axes and complete Axe Grind quest.

Another problem I’ve had is that when I do get baby oil I’m not also getting whiskey. It’s a one or the other drop scenario.
With 2d 04h left I still need a total of 37 more whiskey to get Breaking Wind, the sign and the tower, smash 33 barrels, plus 7 baby oil and 6 horns for Burlesque Peter to perform the Burlesque task.

Awful event so far, so slow going and boring. Drop rates are abysmal, i will be now where near completing this. I don’t get TC idea with this game, i would be so near to completing events that i would spend clams on rushing the odd one or two tasks and because of this i would spend on a premium character or 2. But now I’m always no where near and now not spending on the game. i took a punt on apollo creed on the rocky event first thing i bought for nearly 12 months and he was as much help as a chocolate tea pot. All this has stopped me spending clams and would guess others are the same, so where is the sense of irritating your players and stop them spending?

I have no idea why axes aren’t a “common” or “always” drop. They’re so crucial to our progress it’s simply frustrating, not challenging. Hopefully the drops will get better, but I’m not holding my breath. It’s just a shame they ended Excellent Adventure early for this nonsense.

It’s worse than that – on top of that poor drop you have the double whammy of the whiskey drops. Even if you do receive three axes you can still end up with zero whisky out of six and zero baby oils.

Halfway unlocking Peter, and should be ok to get remaining items 2 days max. Then, it’ll be a mad scramble for Johnny.
Motivated to finish Chapter 1 in time for a jump start to Chapter 2, as it looks like an interesting costume for Stewie.
