The Future’s Bright, The Future’s Tomorrow

Update From Alissa: I’ve responded to the question of will there be an Addicts site for Futurama here.

Well actually it’s not tomorrow, it’s the 29th June. Yes, next Thursday will see the official launch of TinyCo’s new game, Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow and I thought why don’t we have a little poll to see who plans to bring some cosmic chaos into their lives by playing it.

I have to say it looks interesting and I’m going to take a trip to the future and give it a try. How could I not with these Talking Heads tempting me. It’s like looking at  a bizarre space age geeky Mt. Rushmore isn’t it.

They certainly put on a good show in the official game trailer, which you can see HERE.

I’ve also many comments here and over on our sister site Tapped Out Addicts, asking if we will be bringing you a Futurama Addicts site, but that’s something I can’t answer, I’m just the help around here, I’m basically Consuela but I work with an iPad rather than cleaning supplies. The decision on any new site will be made by the founder Addicts, and I guess that’s a question that will be answered once the game goes live. Until then, thanks for reading and if you’re playing the Beta version of the game already tell us what you think so far.

  1. Love Futurama, but can’t see downloading the game till I get a non windows based new phone in maybe December.
I barely have enough room on my tablet to play FG since it has to update all the time.

  2. I’ll pass. I waste enough time already playing FG!! LOL. Plus, I can’t see Tinyco “fixing” their current lack of fun or drop rate issues, just by putting out a new game. I think their model is their model. Good luck to all that are going to give it a try.

I’ve been feeling burned out lately on tapped out and quest for stuff, I’m not even playing the current quest for stuff mini event. Really looking forward to the Futurama game, great show! I just hope it’s a little be less labor intensive then quest. I usually start out strong in quest events but by the 3rd week I’m always behind, I’m a freemium player but have over 3,000 clams thanks to the daily videos for the past 2 years lol. I do spend clams on characters I like though.

  4. I will try it. I hope it has some of the good elements of Simpson’s Tapped Out (ability to buy land, and more realistically obtainable premium rewards), combined with good elements of Family Guy (more interesting side games and characters you can earn).

  5. I’m afraid I won’t be playing it.
I would love to play it as I like futurama, but since it’s from tinyco I must stay far away from it.

I’m close to deleting FG as it is. Only thing still preventing me from deleting it, is all the time and (and some dollars in the good days) spend in it.
Every event that starts I think, oh my, there we go again, time to fail everything again.

So yeah, I doubt futurama will be different. Maybe in the beginning, but I guess it will ends in a huge grind.

    • It’s normal to want a change. I don’t play all the events in FG either. Check in for free clams, though, and to mess around a little with the current event if there is something fun to do like mini games. If I see a character I really want to unlock or buy, I’ll work on that.

Otherwise I’m too casual these days to be able to make much headway with recent events. Bad drop rates really kill the more casual player. A more dedicated one might push through it.

  6. Huge fan of Futurama. Have been playing for quite a while now and have found that any problems I have had have been resolved very well. Looking forward to the release later on this week.

  9. My 3 year old phone can barely handle qfs, I doubt a newer game would work too well. Plus I’m more into family guy than futurama.

  10. It’s pretty good so far. Keep in mind it’s a collaboration between Tinyco, Jamcity(the people who made Fg:afmg) and some people called foxnext games I think. Doubt it will stoop to Avengers Academy level whaling.

  11. I like Futurama, but am a huge FG fan, so I may pass especially if it’s the same game play with a different theme…I just hope it doesn’t mean FGTQFS gets neglected and eventually shutdown…half the fun is coming here and sharing our collective addiction issues…plus Bunny, RT and Lotty do a great job…

  12. It’s a pass for me. Challenge of playing FGTQFS is quite enough for me, as far as games developed by Tinyco goes. Not that it’s bad, but I personally prefer a little more relaxing and less stress. I still play FG mainly because I’m a fan of the show and the witty dialogue perks me up.

I’m hoping Futurama will be little less hectic, what am I saying, a LOT less hectic

  13. I am a huge Futurama fan. Always have been since the day it debuted on TV (back in 1999), seems like it was only yesterday. Where have all those years gone?😱 🤔

However, I am VERY weary about downloading this game (when it finally becomes available in the store). I have always thought to myself that I would never play another game made by them again. I still like this Family Guy game but the unfairness [like having to spend a complete fortune to get anywhere], cost of clams (especially in Australia – where they are super expensive!!), character timers, questions to them that get the standard “whatever” answer back and all the other things / brush-offs have made me not want to play any of their future games. I am still playing this game but only because I have spent so much time and money on it already. Oh, and I love talking to the wonderful people (Bunny, Russian Tiger, other people) on this site as well. I would miss talking to you as well if I stopped playing. 😃

I may still try the Futurama game just to see what it is all about.. However, I can’t see myself spending so much time and energy (like I have with this game) though.

  14. I’ll give it a go, but I hope the “fairness” is more like TSTO compared to this game.

  16. I’m still “registered” for it in the Play store (registered a couple of months ago) but still haven’t been granted access. Oh well, I’ll have to start with the rest of the plebs

  17. I’m already playing it 🙂 A site would be helpful to have since the quests have multiple options and requires specific characters.

  18. We are brutes for punishment! I’ll try it of course. I hope we get a site for it. I’m not sure if our Bunny can do it tho. With it being a brand new game, it’ll be crucial to some of us. Lol
Bunny had spoiled us rotten with this site!
I’m grateful to her and all the people behind her.
Pointing at you for sure RT! You’ve done an amazing job! I know it’s a lot of work, and you do it just to help others!
I love this place and don’t want to go anywhere else for my main info.
I’ll probably feel very lost in the new game without y’all holding my hand. I’m wondering how many of us will turn our backs on FGQFS, it may be the push some people want, since the game has gotten so frustrating to a lot of us.

  19. New Zealand and Wales Android users were the Beta group. I have seen roughly 20 – 25 minutes of actual beta gameplay on YouTube from it. It has potential, but hopefully some graphics cleanup and character finding options have been added for full release.

Still looking forward to it and praying it won’t be as clam intense as Family Guy or way more power crystal intense like their Marvel game. 🙂

    • Sweden must also have been part of the beta. I can tell you that they updated the graphics a lil while ago, the trailer actually shows the old graphics. Character finding option has been added, it’s the same FG uses.

It uses pizza instead of clams and the cost to buy pizza is the same as FG clams, like 3500 pizza cost $99,99. There are four characters you can buy, Hyper-Chicken cost 150 pizza, Hedonismbot cost 225 pizza, Calculon cost 300 pizza and Nixon & Agnew cost 475 pizza.

    • I’m thinking the same and also assuming the new game will be at its best (in terms of player rewards) whilst new, making it a good idea to get started as soon as possible.

The futility of the near-impossible demands in this latest FGTQFS event just underlines how little they now care about player enjoyment.

      • I could not agree more. It seems that all TinyCo cares about is milking as much money from this game as they can before they shove to to back of the shelf and let it die. I am not very optimistic about this new game.

  21. Love(d) Futurama! It never should have been cut the first or second time. If The Simpsons can still be running this should. They keep trying new animated series that don’t make it yet Futurama was great. I’ll be playing… I anticipate having to free up some space on my phone but whatever.
