With the Christmas event upon us I thought it was time to see how everyone is getting on. Yes whether you’re dashing through the event or a little stuck here’s where to share your progress. Yes it’s Poll time, so best get busy Addicts. And remember the results will show and update as players answer, so it will also let you gauge where you are compared to others.

This has been a really fun event so far. I have enjoyed all the various parts, like the bar, the store, the tree (and I LOVE the snow overlay, so cute). It’s felt more relaxing than any other events I’ve participated in, which is very nice for this time of year. Looking forward to week 2!

Getting antsy for week 2 as I’ve been done for about 3 days now. Any possibility that we have to update the game again for week 2?

Tends to be late afternoon evening on a Wednesday PDT but it’s been known to be as late as Thursdsy before new content drops

Awesome to see mostly everyone is actually caught up on an event for once. Bad Santa has also been my personal favorite Christmas movie next to Elf for years so I’m happy a movie I’ve actually seen and love is making it into the game.

Is there any point in doing shop visits anymore? I don’t need any of the rewards even though they still drop. Do we know if Eggnogg will be useful for Week 2?

I’m thinking there will be something else needed next phase unless TinyCo are feeling very generous, but I’m shopping a little and holding back some eggnog, sitting on fence basically

On a related note: Do we know if Rabid Reindeer will be a required purchase, at some point? I have 320 gifts, and can’t hold any more, and want to know I can keep them for week two, or will I have to buy RR and start accumulating again?

The last item is often optional and it wasn’t required complete questline, so very possibly you won’t need it – but I can’t be 100% sure, sorry

I could swear that I’ve seen Rabid Reindeer in another Christmas event. Though I tried searching through my inventory and couldn’t find it. I don’t want to use 320 gifts for it so I can be a little bit ahead in the 2nd week.

Indeed you have, it was from the “Miracle on Spooner Street” event.
Has TinyCo run out of ideas, or is it sheer laziness that prompts them to shamelessly recycle items? Either option gives the impression that the developers are merely going through the motions – which could signal that the end of this game may be near…

Yes it was a challenge prize in that event. To be honest most thought the game would end in 2017, and it hasn’t, so who knows what the future holds. It can’t go on forever but hopefully the end isn’t imminent.

I bought it a few days ago, got back up to 320, then bought 4 reindeer, and I’m back up to 320 again.

Usually when you unlock a character, you no longer receive the item after a quest. However, every time I send characters to the store, I still get all the drops (as well as the salesmen drops). I’m having Chris and Marcus continually clearing salesmen just in case, they have nothing else to do anyway.
The bonus for me is that I’ve had time to clear every other quest off my list, so all I have is the Main Quest and then the daily Tan Lines quest! 🙂

My last eggnog collection brought up a claim on the wish list called fear the beard and rewarded two white beards.. Don’t know what they’re for but I’m assuming something upcoming because I was finished with everything for week one..

Looked like the Fake Beards needed to unlock Santa Griffin that were rewarded, so a little strange

I think the fake beards for Peter were more gray in color. I too noticed that the beards awarded in Fear The Beard were more white. I think they may be for unlocking either Santa or some other character in the next phase. Perhaps a wish list item that was activated too soon?

The Fake Beards were white and checking back my images they were those needed for Santa Griffin. I think the gray beards your thinking if were the dirty beards for unlocking Willie Stokes.

Chris has stopped dropping red balls, so cannot upgrade tree anymore. Anyone else finding this? Otherwise week 1 done.

I have both Chris and Marcus Skidmore clearing the salesmen. Sometimes when I click on Chris, the rewards appear where Marcus is standing and vice versa. Perhaps you are getting the rewards, but they are popping up somewhere away from Chris.
The same thing happened in another event a while back.

Got everything done but the tree upgrade on Sunday morning, I think. Finished that this morning. Have been buying reindeer every time my gifts fill up. Only drag of this has been that you really need to send Chris vs. Infomercial guys non-stop since he’s the bottleneck. Everything else you can just pretty much follow the list and goals for. But keep Chris as busy as you can.

My herd of reindeer have the rabid one surrounded! They are small but mighty! I also went back into the inventory, and grabbed a few snowball launchers, and misc weapons from previous Christmas events for the reindeer to fight him with!

Pretty good so far. Drops really picked up – asked TinyCo to clear my cache from their side, not sure if they did, but drops were noticeably better after that. Only need two fake beards for Willie with more than a day and a half to go on the clam reward timer, so no reason to rush that. Relatively quiet event IMHO, not so frantic, which is good…again, JMHO…

And just unlocked Willie with over a day to go, so all good in this one. The last event was incredibly difficult, so maybe their clearing of my cache did help. As a matter of practice, I always clear my cache before I play – FGTQFS is a huge memory hog.

It seems that they did something, though, to reduce the memory, at least on the iPhone: My phone now shows only about 270 MB taken up by FGTQFS, while I seem to recall it took almost 2 GB, at one point. (126 MB is the app itself, and 144 MB for the data.) I just noticed this the other day, when I also noticed you can reinstall the app without losing your progress, if you keep the data. (Again, disclaimer: I have my game saved to an email address, and recommend you do too, before reinstalling, even if just doing the app.)

When I craft a building the game freezes once it’s crafted, so it puts it in inventory. Then I reload the game and try to go into inventory and when I push the inventory button the game crashes. So I’m not doing well. I reported the problem and they said they are working on it.

I think it was a mistake to buy Marcus. I was done and ready for week 2 by Sunday afternoon, and since they capped gift collection with blitzen’s, there’s no way to get a head start on next week. Odd choice.

I contemplated not buying the Rabid Reindeer, but it’s quite easy to earn presents that I decided to go for it. I already have ~100 presents so I shouldn’t fall behind for week 2. I’m still 4 baubles away from upgrading the tree to max level, but otherwise I’ve done everything. Quite a pleasant event so far!

Waiting for week 2 now upgraded blitzen bar to lvl 5 tree is at 4 I think I’m going to stock eggnog still giving out rewards when shopping so don’t know if their going to be needed for upgrading in wk 2

Good progress so far. Going to send Bad Santa to go shopping tonight then complete Part 8. Mentioned before that I love the achievements method to get rewards. Sent a compliment to Tinyco too. Glad to see they have kept this up!
