They say what happened in 2017 should stay buried in the past, but not when it comes to Quahog…. Yup history is repeating itself as a host of characters and costumes make their comeback in the latest event to hit our games, Best of 2017.
Yes, the festive frolics of Christmas are but a distant memory and it’s time to go a little Russian as the latest event is live. I’ll get the LIVE post up as soon as possible. Until then you can throw caution to the wind as there is NO timed NEW content. However this weeks returning characters are only available for one week as the 2nd week will see a new batch available. But the good news is Mrs Giant Chicken will be available to unlock until the end of the event on 17th January.
Yes let me repeat the good news, Mrs Giant Chicken is not timed so go ahead and purchase the Giant Chicken Coop to start working on unlocking her.

This event is going to be VERY hard to accomplish.
I don’t have ANY character except for boxer Peter.
I have no way of getting the salmon needed.
Not a fun event for those in the same boat. 😞

Drago has yet to drop any salmon for me, so his Tier 1 status is not so useful 😒
I agree that getting at least one more Tier 1 collector would make sense, but that has to be balanced against the mystery box (and Tier 1) characters changing for week two.
That being said, the completionist in me wants to fill those Facespace sets …

While I’m happy that I have a chance toget almost everything from the Rocky event, I wish they used characters from more than 1 event so people qho startef later had a chance. Hopefully next week will use characters from few events.

I started playing during the last week of Rocky so I missed all of them. But since I was saving clams for this event I bought boxer lois (because it was cheap) and I could have both Rocky & Chris tonight if I get lucky on drops.

Seems more like “Rocky Revisited” instead of “Best of 2017″…
Although, it is nice to get a chance at Ivan Drago again – since I feebly got only 182/800 tabs needed to get him. It would also be great to get Deirdre Jackson and Clubber Lang for free, since I opted not to purchase them the first time around (net savings: 520 Clams).
Principal Shepherd would be nice, but me and those Mystery Boxes do not get along…

My aim is to get the Giant Chicken. Only have Lois and Rocky for Tier 2 and Drago for Tier 1. Chris for Tier 3 is a moot point due to his 8 hour time slot needed. Strategy should be to get one more character from Tier 1 before getting Giant Chicken right? Else tough to get enough red stars for the Chicken.

Yes I’d try get another Tier 1 character, but you’ll know how your drops and collections are by then to change your mind before you buy. I too want Mrs Chicken

I aim to get Deirdre Jackson first. More characters for salmon means more hammers and stars from the bears. Plus I believe Deirdre will finish a clam set too.

This is going to be a challenging week. Didn’t start playing the game until late this summer so I don’t have any of the characters that drop salmon yet. Look forward to getting a new character or two but I don’t expect to be very successful in this overall. I do however like the idea of a simple event following the Christmas one..

To be fair: A “Best of 2017” event is not really targeted at people who didn’t play through 2017, is it? 😀 And once you start collecting Stars, you can buy new characters, which increases your collection rate, so there is still a chance to progress, just more slowly than people who have the characters already.

Well it should be balanced so new players can get chance at stuff that came before they started play, this is very tough for newer players. On flip side those who play and pay premium have much of this so again little to play for. It’s a tough one to balance and for me this one is little off. But things can change quickly if the uncommon drops are kind

I usually do, I hope the White Power Ranger becomes available during this at some point so I can finish that set too! I was a bit sad to see that they didn’t give Clubber Lang anything to do in this event, I checked all my boxers out of Tan Lines and had to put him back in 😦

So……is no-body mentioning the staggering 750 clams for Boxer Stewie?
I presume you get 75 red stars when buying him, which is a boost during this early stage, but even so, 750 is ridiculous!

So far it looks interesting. Is it just me or do you need all of the boxing characters/skins to get started in this event? Wasn’t able to get past Peter and unlock any more. Good luck everyone.

Having the boxing characters will certainly help with getting salmon which will help you clear more unicycle bears for stars. I’m just playing through and will be feeding back thoughts to TinyCo as it does look fun event but very difficult if you don’t have all the Rocky characters

I see Sam in the mystery box! Mrs. Giant Chicken is the least of my concerns, that’s one of the characters I’ve really wanted since my unintentional departure from the game back in the Summer! I really enjoyed her and Chris together, they were adorable in all honesty.

So, I don’t have Deidre, Clubber or Boxer Stewie (@75 Stars/each). Does it make any sense to get 1 or more of them to help me get to the 210 Red Stars I need for Mrs. Chicken? (Ah those crazy random [trout] objects mixed with math. 🙂 )

Getting a chance of salmon on there 3hr drop will be big help, so I’d say it’s worth trying get 1 into play
