Bouncing on by for a moment to try to answer the questions I’m seeing over and over in the comments. So take a peek below to see if I’ve managed answer all your queries, and if there’s anything else you’re wondering just ask me about it in the comments.
HOW LONG HAVE I GOT TO UNLOCK MRS GIANT CHICKEN?
You’ve got until the end of the Best of 2017 Event to unlock her, she’s not going anywhere before that. The event will end on 17th January @ 3pm PST (GMT +8),
But be aware if you want to see Week 2 you’ll need her unlocked before then, as she’s necessary to complete the Week 1 Questline.
SHOULD I BUY A TIER 1 RETURNING ROCKY CHARACTER?
If you don’t already have any, then YES, as quickly as possible, the 3hr chance of a Salmon drop will make a huge difference to your Red Star collecting. But please remember you need to get Blunderlips Chris to progress through the main Questline!!! So it’s not a case of choosing him or another character, you’re going need try get both ASAP.
I know this event seems real tough if your new to the game and don’t have any Rocky characters, but on the flip side for long-term premium players it’s a quiet event with little to do as we have much if the content. So for newbies just get your eye on a target and concentrate on that, you’ll get something but not everything. For players like myself who’ve got much of the content, enjoy the slower pace, enjoy the break we’ve all been crying out for.
HOW LONG WILL THE BEST OF 2017 PART 1 MYSTERY BOX STAY AROUND?
You’ve got until the end of the Best of 2017 Event to try this, it won’t be leaving when Week 2 launches. So you can wait until the last day to play this if you want!!!
WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO EARN RED FLAGS IN WEEK 2?
Yes, you will. TinyCo have confirmed this but I can’t say if they will be the main currency or if a new one will come in alongside this.
WILL THE WEEK 1 ROCKY CHARACTERS WE CAN BUY/UNLOCK LEAVE AUTOMATICALLY WHEN WEEK 2 LAUNCHES?
No, they will only leave once you complete the Week 1 Questline, so if you want the Rocky content to stick around just don’t complete the Week 1 Questline Best of 2017s Past Part 7. This part will require you to put Mrs Giant Chicken on a task, Have Mrs Giant Chicken Pace, if you DON’T do this task you can delay the 2nd week launching until our live post goes up showing what is released in Week 2 so you can decide if you want to stay with unlocking the Rocky content or move on to the Week 2 returning content.
But the flip side of this is if you really want move on to Week 2 you need to unlock Mrs Giant Chicken, so plan your red flag spending wisely.
FYI Mrs Giant Chicken task Pace is just 10 secs.

WHY IS APOLLO CREED NOT BACK OR USEFUL IN THE EVENT?
He wasn’t at the event at launch but he is now, so if you’ve not got him you can buy him now for 190 clams. Or if you have have already got him get him out of storage or Tan Lines as you can use him to collect Salmon on his 3hr task Go For Sushi.
WHAT’S COMING BACK IN WEEK 2?
Well the truth is we don’t know for sure, but TinyCo gave teased it will include Kung Pow Quahog content, so have a look at the review HERE and you’ll see what was released during that event.
WILL THERE BE ANOTHER NEW CHARACTER IN WEEK 2?
I don’t know, I know the 2016 Best Of Event only brought 1 new character to our games, Jim Kaplan. So Mrs Giant Chicken may be all we will see, or then again TinyCo may surprise us with something else. All will be revealed when Week 2 launches. But my gut feeling is with Mrs Giant Chicken’s unlock necessary to access Week 2 there will be another new character or costume coming. But I could be wrong, I usually am!!!
WILL GIANT CHICKEN BE RETURNING?
I really hoped Ernie would be back freemium as I know many players still don’t have him, and how sad would it be to have Mrs Giant Chicken wandering your Quahog alone. But looks like he’s only available as part of a clam deal. That’s got my feathers in a flap for sure.
ARE TINYCO MOCKING ME?

WHY ARE MY RED FLAGS NOT SHOWING IN MRS GIANT CHICKENS UNLOCK REQUIREMENTS?
Most likely because you’ve spent them on returning content or the Mystery Box.

Chris is dropping a fish, I collect it, but it doesn’t show up when I try to clear a bear. It has happened quite a few times. Is it a glitch?

This page is priceless! Did you happen to get any of Hillary’s uranium? That was the real collusion created by the Hillary team. Not the fake dossier she bought and paid for. I hope TinyCo will add uranium and dossiers in the quests! Lol. Thanks again for the event walkthroughs!

Read in a couple of comments that there seems to be a limit to how many stars you can collect – 210. I’d like to say that in my game, there does not seem to be any limit as i now have 233 stars. I’m tempted to buy mystery box for Principal Shepard which includes 3 other costumes, but since mystery box will be available until end of event, I will wait and see what comes next.

Is the consensus wisdom of the crowd that it is better to hoard stars and salmon now for something in Week 2 — or should we spend freely on the mystery box trying to get a playable character ASAP?
With 80 million coins and 15 Gold Stewie Bucks, I would sure like to find some mystery boxes that take coins and bucks. And more land. TinyCo needs to make all future buildings either 4×4 or smaller — or to make them float on water! Maybe we need a water reclamation project that allows us to convert some water to usable land? How about an engineer from the Netherlands or something? LOL Or a Stewie shrink ray to make all 9×10 buildings into 4×5 buildings or something?

The mystery box will still be there in week 2 so you can gather stars and then wait see what to spend on. The bears willl leave so salmon hoarding might not be necessary if you need new item in 2nd week.

Although the prize box will remain the latest pop up regarding salmon states the bears will be leaving on January 10. So keeping the box without a way to get additional stars will be an issue. Thoughts?

TinyCo have said there will be ways to collect Stars in week 2, obviously just not from bears.

I have a ton of questlines backed up due to all of the Rocky characters & costumes. It didn’t even bring up the one for Dierdre. Will too many quests keep the next week from starting tomorrow? Also it offered 50% off on salmon, saying get them before they are gone, does this mean we wont be able to get stars from bears next week?

Yes the bears are leaving but there will be other ways to earn stars.
I didn’t get questline for her either, and you can usually have over 20 or more open and no issues, so don’t worry.

No quest for Tiger Brian either, although that makes sense as it dropped event currency at the time, where I don’t believe that was true of Deirdre.

After I unlocked Clubber, Deidre, and Stewie I started saving up stars for Mrs. Giant Chicken. When I was.2 stars away from the 210 stars needed, the bear that I cleared only gave me 2 stars, rather than 4 (in other words I got jipped out of two stars). Since there’s over a day left I decided to buy a mystery box with some of my stars thinking that I could still unlock mrs. Giant chicken in time. I then was able to start collecting Stars again. Just a heads up.

Has something similar after I got Mrs. Chicken. Still had boxer Stewie available (wasn’t going to get him since, meh. But then someone mentioned the bonus clams for the set). Had 68 stars. One bear took me to 72, next to 75, after purchase had zero. Good thing I was paying attention and only lost the one star.

Hi, everyone. Do you know if Week 1 characters will disappear tomorrow as Week 2 is launched to everybody who has unlocked Mrs Giant Chicken, or if they will disappear when WE finish week 1? Just to know how much time I have to decide whether to complete Drago’s clam set or not. Thanks.

They will leave once you complete Pt 7 of the main questline, to do thus you put Mrs Giant Chicken on her pace task, so delay doing that it if you want keep working on Week 1 characters. More details here https://wp.me/p4rag2-aIw

Are you sure about the Mystery Box? The “Part 1” aspect makes me nervous. I also got a popup just now saying “A new set of returning characters: Different returning characters will be coming in Week 2 of Best of 2017! Week 1 characters won’t be available in Week 2, so get them before you progress!”. Hopefully that just applies to the boxer characters (I now have them all) and not the mystery box.

Yeah, it looks like they do stay – but with no way to earn fish or hammer & sickles it’s kinda pointless. I have 16 / 45 for the last costume, but no way to earn the rest.

You will get a red star for clearing Russian Bots so you can still collect towards mystery box.

It’s nice to be able to pick up these Rocky characters again, but now I’m going to have a lot of quests piling up. I have everyone on salmon duty, so I’ll have to finish them all later.

That’s true . I unlocked Ivan Drago and Boxer Stewie (he completed my Boxer Family set and I got 10clams) , and it made a big difference (still debating on Diedre and the other guy as I don’t like them very much) … my main focus now is to collect 210 stars for Mrs Chicken

If you already have Drago and you unlock Diedre and Clubber you will also complete a clam set – 15 I believe – so it might be worth collecting regardless if you like them or not

Ok I am showing a total of 323 Characters and 241 Costumes/outfits since the game started in 2014. Can anyone confirm this. I am currently missing about 40 characters and 30 costumes. Anyone else got a good list or would like to exchange list let me know. I have mine in excel so I can update when I gain a character or costume/outfit/

Thanks for the info, but this is just simply a TERRIBLE event for anyone who wasn’t around the first time and isn’t willing to shell out tons of clams to pick up more characters just to make it to the second week of the event. Sigh. Guess I’ll just have to work on my Lazarus Portal questlines.

Yes, you’d find that it’s tough for newcomers as you have limited or no characters to utilize and insufficient clams to accelerate. Try and make do with what you can play and get what you can. Don’t think about what you missed but what you can get. In the long run, it does get better.

Question: I got the Griffin gingerbread house in a mystery box. Now that the event is over, the Griffin house is still gingerbread. I tried putting it in my inventory hoping it would be replaced but was warned it was too important to tuck away. The standard Griffin house is not in my inventory. Will it ever return? What is an addict to do?

It’s usually on the top box, the one shows the Griffin House payout not the characters payouts. Top Box which has the tiny Griffin house, you should see green arrow next to it.
