Hi fellow addicts
Yet another gremlin is at work and it’s stopping Facebook players getting their rewards from the Barrel Shooting game. It would seem no matter how many Barrels Facebook players clear the game gives them no rewards.
I’ve reported it to TinyCo, and here’s hoping they’ll get a fix out soon to stop Facebook players feeling that the game is sticking two barrel fingers up at their efforts to play.
The other thing about the mini game being mentioned is still having time remaining on the Barrel Shoot when it finishes. I think this is deliberate to curtail our Coal drops to 5 maximum per try. You’ve got 20 seconds to get through 5 rounds of barrel shooting not unlimited rounds, hence how quick you clear the 5 rounds will depend whether you see time left on the clock. I generally have 7 seconds remaining at end. I honestly think this is deliberate but I’ve asked TinyCo to confirm.
Also getting many questions from Kindle players about why they don’t have the latest update and rumours are growing that the game is no longer compatible with Kindle Fire devices. I can’t confirm or deny this as I’ve not had it confirmed either way by my contact at TinyCo as yet.
I’ll update you all as soon as I hear from TinyCo, until then feel free to use this post to vent about these issues.

is there a way to finish out week 1 without having to log into the game every 4 hours in order to kill the bandit? I only get time to login 2x a day because of work. . . . usually, the MAIN quest isn’t so time sensitive. .

No, you need be defeating Bandit to get resources, logging in twice a day sadly won’t get you far unless you buy the premium John Wayne

I’m having a problem with the bandit paying out. It only pays out one coal when I kill all his lives. I still need feathers for painted lady Lois and whiskey for the bank and I’m getting nothing.

You need message TinyCo if not getting rewards for the full defeat. But support there is slow just now

I run Google Play Store on my Kindle Fire 10 and the game still works fine that way.

I play on a Kindle Fire, and this event has shown up on my device, despite the fact that there is no update available. I’m not sure how it did this, but it did – at some point, the loading screen changed to the cowboy one. I do still get a pop-up saying “Please Update,” and if I follow that to the Amazon store, no update is there. But if I hit “Later” and just go into the game, the cowboy event is working fine. The only exception is, the Barrel Shooting Gallery does not work – it returns zero awards, everything inside it is blank except the barrels themselves. For that to work, I have to log in through my phone. (I use both, but prefer the Fire for the larger screen.)

This happening makes me think that Mac Natty might only have gotten the update, somehow, because he uses something other than JUST his tablet. I have never used anything other than my Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet and I still don’t have the update in any form, aside from the start graphics of the western scene. I started to have some hope about the situation until I tried it myself.

I was all happy for a split second because my game had an update and then it installs and I get on only to find out that the update, for some reason, is some changes to the FacePlace thing and nothing else. Oh well…

Double drat. I’m still trying get some answers but support have a lot on just now so things are slow but another reader and regular, and reliable commenter Cherry posted this “I run Google Play Store on my Kindle Fire 10 and the game still works fine that way.” – Would that work for you?

The problem with doing that is you have to enable third party app installation and Amazon gives you a very ominous warning if you start to do that. They really don’t want you to do it. It says you can’t stop bad downloads once you let any nom-Amazon sources download anything. There is no protection from malicious stuff without blocking all non-Amazon software downloads.

That’s why I put thread up for Amazon players to discuss, not having a Kindle Fire I can’t test it out or see if it’s creates issues. It’s similar to running emulated games, I always feel bit wary of downloading the APK but thousands have no issue doing it. I’m quite cautious that way.

My shooting time also stops when I still have seconds left, but it’s always after the 5th round. I also thought that we’re supposed to get a maximum of 5 coals per try.
I’m also having a great lag before the targets appear, both at the beginning and between rounds as well. This makes me lose many seconds and I’ve missed two rounds in one ocassion (10 sec lag!!). The lag at the beginning seems to be the worst, so what I’m doing is to collect 5 or 6 BB and then do all the tries together (as long as I don’t need just 5 to make an exchange AND buy the building). This seems to work better for attemts 2 to 4.

I’ve played four rounds & didn’t get any rewards. The game also lags when starting the shooting gallery & in between clearing barrels so i lose precious seconds. I wish they would just fix all these bugs with this game. It’s getting extremely frustrating now.

It has been unavailable for my Kindle Fire HD 7 since the Guys in Black event (version 1.51.0). Good thing I have my phone to use or I would of been done after 3 years playing the game.

I’ve just logged another issue with them: I “lost” the 60 banknotes for trading in coal and whiskey at the bank. The new total showed at the top of the screen but not in the saloon. After restarting the game, the 60 banknotes were gone completely.

I have and they say it’s a known issue that they’re working on. Traded in coal and whiskey twice since then without any issues, so it may just be a one-off glitch, or maybe they’ve fixed it.

Anyone experiencing a problem unlocking Le Boueff? When I tap on the hammer, I get the option to repair, but that then defaults to an option to use clams to finish. If I tap ‘nah’ it reverts back to the hammer! I have just got Cowboy Peter completed so thought I was making reasonable progress 😕

I never thought to make the link to my workers! That now makes sense. However I raised a concern with Tiny and rather than explain as you did, they stated “This is a known issue we are currently looking into. I’ve passed your information to the team, and we hope to have a fix soon.“ Doh! I will see whether they reply before my workers finish their current jobs 😉

RT- I seem to have a different barrel gremlin. My timer only counts down to 5 seconds then collects. So in effect I get 15 seconds shoot time and not 20. This has happened since day 1. I’m not gonna sweat it as I reckon the payouts have already been decided anyway. I seem to get similar payouts no matter how many I shoot…..💜X

Has anyone noticed that the barrel shooting stops at 6 or 7 seconds? For me it finishes right at 6 or 7 seconds and gives rewards. Never counts down to zero

I can’t believe that Amazon would really completely and permanently lock this game away from Kindle Fire Tablet users after 2 years of allowing it. The only exception I can think of is if Amazon is having the same reaction to the 420 event that Facebook did, only more extreme and permanent.

Someone posted a screenshot of a response from support on the May 21 post of the game’s facebook page Their comment is dated May 23. It says “Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that older devices such as the Kindle Fire, Kindle fire HD and the Fire phone, may not be able to run the app with 100% functionality. In order to maintain efficiency for more stable devices and operating systems, this game may no longer be supported on your device. If possible, it is advised that players use devices that can download the iOS or Google Play versions of the game. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
