I ageee with all the complaints. Still getting through week 2 trying to get David. Terrible event overall. And seems tiny co is making is buy out way through even game basics now. I’ve stopped purchasing on principle.

I usually play enough to unlock everything normally in one week. This event however is painfully slow. The backstage pass drops are very few and the key drop this week is hit or miss. When you have characters that have been stockpiling stuff for a week (pens, paper, cameras), why have 3 unlockable buildings to drop the same stuff….not needed. What we needed was another backstage pass building and/or scarf/pants dropper.
I’m just casually playing the rest of the event. I have no interest in Spinal Tap anyway (I know of it, but never watched). It’s disappointing that Ace Ventura and Alf are premium characters…just don’t want to spend the clams on such a lousy event.

finally unlocked David !
but isn’t there a prize for completing the set ? i just got the “complete” checkpoint in the facespace and he is now apparently part of a new set including Alf ? this is so unfair idk what TinyCo is doing really they’re all over the place with this event !!!!
also did week 3 start yet ? i just sent David on his task for part 7 and we will see after he’s done in 4 hrs

He’s part of 2 sets, Con Stars and Celebrity Roundtable, but I On,y got Clams for the Celebrity Roundtable set completion. I have messaged TinyCo regarding this.

He was actually in two sets, one with Qaptain Quahog and Nigel–I was actually rewarded the clams in advance after getting just the two (after I unlocked Nigel)–then in another set with Ace Ventura and ALF. Perhaps you got rewarded the clams, and never noticed, because you didn’t know to keep an eye out for it. I only caught it when I noticed my clam count went up 14 (from the stage), and after I unlocked Nigel a short bit later, it was up another 15. When I looked at the Qaptain Quahog/Nigel/David set in FaceSpace, it showed the set as complete, although David was still a silhouette, and I was about 4 days away from getting him yet.

I think TinyCo needs to reconsider the tasks for Part 6 of the main questline. It took forever to get there and now I need to trade with the memorabilia owner five times when what I need to be doing is crafting skinny jeans and purple scarfs. I have crafted items and traded a bunch just to get this far and am one microphone away from completing that requirement. To have to spend backstage passes on crafting items just to trade just puts me further behind, especially since you are working on a 24-hour cycle. This has been done before in past events where the tasks are out of sync with actual gameplay. I hope they consider this as we move into Phase Three later today (not that many will see it on time).

Me too. Need to trade 3 more times which will take me at least 20 hours to be able to do. When I need to make 9 more of the pink things.

This week has somehow gone very badly for me despite buying premium Ace Ventura. I’m not sure he really helped much. David St Hubbins and his clam timer started before I’d even finished the previous week, making me either work on both character unlocks together or neglect one of them. His timer just ran out and I’m still not only hours but possibly days behind. Looks like mircophones and footwear are the biggest problems in my game.

It’s cool…Thanks to having ALF, and his always dropping an autograph, poster, or selfie, I get to stockpile extras without having to spend the time getting materials AND then crafting them. I can only speak for my own experience, and I don’t know about other players, but it seems like when I trade with the memorabilia dealer, on Level 3, he always wants the same thing he wanted on Level 1. Expecting that, and expecting that on Level 4 he would want the item he hadn’t asked for yet (it went 1-selfies, 2-posters, 3-selfies, 4-autographs), I crafted based on available materials, then sent ALF for the rest to stockpile. After a couple of days of this, I finally had enough stuff to make a trade on Level 4. It seems like you can’t get past 3 (I saw another player mention that, too), but I finally got to 4, and that got me enough stickers to place the final item for the week. In about 3 hours and 55 minutes, when David St. Hubbins completes his task, I should actually have Week 2 finished about 11 & 1/2 hours ahead of time.

Only three. There were 14 possible outcomes for me, too. Besides that, I think things like VIP passes, swag bags, etc., can repeat, because I got stuff like that on the first two tries, and it’s still listed among the prizes I could win, but any characters in there are not shown, since I now have them all.

Have never known an event to be so frustrating. If I finish Week 3 by the end of the event, I will be very happy.
Am currently on Part 3 and surprised to see that I’m not that far behind everyone else given how close we are to the end of Week 2.

Thanks for the poll, I don’t feel as far behind, being at part 4. I’ve pretty much decided to consider this a 3 week event spread over 4 weeks. There is no way I will get to finish week 4 so I’m just gonna relax and go for 3…It’s not like Alf is waiting for me at the end of w4!

Did Doctor Who make an appearance at this Con cuz I seem to be having timeline issues. I believe David St Hubbins was finally opened to me Sunday AM and yet he is showing 1 Day and some number of hours left on his 6 day timer now. I haven’t been paying attention because I knew there was no chance of getting him in Six days, but is anyone else seeing this? (And now I am off to read all the other posts and comments to see if this has already been noted. I stopped using in game help a few months ago when I realized they have some type of bot running it, I got the exact same reply to three separate notes that should not have had the same reply)

I’ve been playing this game for 3 years. I don’t remember ever being so annoyed and frustrated during an event.

The Griffin Summer Camp one from last year was pretty frustrasting.
That one I’d say was more around gameplay issues though ruining the event, this 2018 Comic-con one is just poop all round.

Was that the one with the battes with ballon water cannons? I kinda enjoyed that event due to the battles, it was nice to see new features in the gameplay, although I agree there were some issues and glitches that were a bit annoying.
But I’d say this quahog-con event is just plain uninteresting and boring, hence my frustration.

Yup…I agree. This event was terrible. I haven’t even unlocked Nigel yet, my drops were sporadic if at all. I’ve played since the beginning of this game and it seems to just continue to decline. Frustrating event.

I have JUST unlocked David St Hubbins and even made the 40 bonus clams, but I couldn’t have done it without Ace Ventura. Toughest challenge to date.

if not , then i’m buying him .. even if he won’t help out in the event anymore

I had to spend clams on him, but I remember Ace Ventura being in an event before, so I guess that really helps anyone who already had him. I see Bryan Cranston is supposed to be in this one, too, and I know he was included in an event way back before I started playing this, and I’ve been at it almost three years. That should save some players a lot of time or clams, if they haven’t already quit playing this on account of all the recent frustrations.

Ace Ventura was a premium character during the Peter’s Prehistoric Park event. Bryan Cranston first appeared during the Comic Con event and I think is still the dearest premium charCter to date at 500 Clams back then.

VERY close to unlocking David St. Hubbins. 3 amps and 1 set of shoes to go, the former might be done by tonight, the latter hopefully tomorrow morning.

So with exactly 24 hour left to get 40 Clams for unlocking David St. Hubbins, here’s where I am:
41/45 Footwear (very doable)
18/25 Amps (unlikely, but possible)
1/8 Jeans (no chance)
1/15 Scarfs (no chance)
26/32 Mics (very doable)
As for the Jeans and Scarfs, I’ve been using all my backstage passes to get items to trade to earn Mics. I have stockpiled 16 Keys, but I need 28 to make all the stuff I need. I’m also going to need 21 Passes, but I have none saved. Again, getting the Mics first.
I don’t think there has ever been a item need as much as Backstage Passes that I have not been able to build up some kind of stockpile after two weeks. Should have been 1 pass to craft each Autograph, Poster, and Selfie.
I also only have 7/200 Stickers to get the Panel Stage. I won’t be getting many stickers once I stop trading after getting the last Mics.
I’m a very aggressive player. I’m on every two hours during the day, so I have really been grinding. Also, if something is close at bedtime, I’ll spend a clam to speed it up, so I get an additional chance. I have not spent clams on any other purchases. This is the least enjoyable event in a long time, maybe ever. It’s hard, not even fun, and to add insult to injury every “offer” has basically been for cash, not clams.
Not fun at all.
