Hi fellow addicts – looks like we’ve got an unexpected gift from our game overlords.
Yes TinyCo have just confirmed to me that they have heard the anguished cries of IOS players who were locked out their games for a good part of yesterday and are extending the Millenial Event – however it’s just for 24 hours, so you’ve only a bit more time to collect those final things before the event now ends on 9th August @ 3pm PDT.
Please note I’ve pulled the End of Event Poll post due to this extension, you’ll see it again once the event ends.

I was able to unlock the consultant for 62 clams; the extra day helped bring the cost down from an amount that was out of reach (although had to earn back 50 more materials that I’d spent on the quest line deco instead of wasting them since the event was due to end). Another extra day would’ve been even better… enough to unlock him for free…

Hi, i use my Facebook account to play but every time i try launching my game i get a notification saying that its currently being updated, do you know how long that might take?

Meanwhile, Facebook players are faced with the dreaded “We’re busy upgrading the game on Facebook right now”. I hope it won’t last a whole month like last time !

My app won’t open at all. I play on android devices. The game was fine until today now just will not open. Tried uninstall/reinstall with same results. Any advice?

As of six hours before the new end time of this mini-event, I’m still 1300+ clams away from unlocking the Social Media Consultant. Total waste of time.

What a load of BS … we’ve all stopped doing these tasks waiting for the new event so the extension is useless. TinyCo should have given us an in game pop-up the day it was supposed to end 😡🤬

The extension was more to help players who were still doing tasks but got locked out there games, not a simple here’s some extra time everyone

EXAcTLY! I stopped trying for media guy once the event end time came near as it was mathematically impossible, so the late extension was also useless for me.
I never saw a popup in the game advising of the extension. Was it communicated any way besides this site? I might of had a chance if they advised me of the extension when I logged in to send Back Jesus on his clam task and watch videos for clams.

If only they’d announce these decisions BEFORE the events end, rather than after…after you’ve spent clams rushing the character you haven’t quite unlocked but would have if you had another 4-12 hours…

This was last minute due to the IOS update glitch that locked players out. But I get the frustration, message them with what you spend to rush unlocking him before the original ending. I would.

It would have been nice for them to share this information in-game with the release of the new update. I spent clams to finish off the character (32 of them) which I clearly would not have to have done. But they have been so stubborn about extending events even when the glitches have been of this kind that I figured they would not do so again. The event was rough enough at the end that I didn’t want to walk away after two weeks without the main prize after all that hard work so I bit the bullet.

Thanks RT. I did [I am a veteran and know the drill ;)] but I have not heard back as of yet. I was going to gamble. It would have been nice if they put in an in-game notification that the event was extended for one more day when they processed the replacement update. I saw an earlier comment you made here and you are right — it is a miracle that they did this one-day extension. Very out of the norm which is why I didn’t want to risk it with being that close. I figured 32 clams was “cheaper” than 145 clams in some mystery box down the road. The cell phones was one of the more difficult “always” drops I have ever seen. I am not even sure what the “always” was. Thanks as always (haha) for your support and assistance!

i got the update then went ahead and bought out Social Media Guy for 16 clams (2 cell phones) so i can sleep and rest for the upcoming month

Whilst this comment should really be in what the deuce, Facebook players had all the problems with being locked out of the game etc a while ago but never got any compensation for it at all, IOS players get locked out for a day and get the event extended.
To cap it all you now can’t get into the Facebook version as it says the usual we are busy upgrading the game screen so really no extension for Facebook players.

The problem with this is that I’d already given up on achieving anything in this event and stopped sending characters on tasks because of the event ending. This is too little, too late. So glad the event/characters were uninspiring so I don’t really care that I didn’t get to unlock them!

Hate to say it but that extra time won’t really make a difference. At least not for me. Thought the event was ending and wasted followers for decos…. *sigh*
I did just notice that tapjoy has now replaced supersonic ads. After my complaint about the clam tv, I’m very happy. You can now check which offers you have AND what the task is. There are a lot more and better offers as well. Just seems better layout than what was previously available.
Also have there been syncing issues? I know I’m getting older but I swear I’ve sent characters on tasks yet when I return I find that they haven’t been sent at all. This may be the reason I seem to have had extra tacos. Even though I used them I excited the game before it synced. From now on I guess I’ll have to wait a bit before I close out the game.
I’m really just ready to start the new event already….

Yeah I’ve had the sync issues, usually when I play using my mobile data and not on wifi

I have heard that, when you send them and later find them not doing the task, free up memory and clear the cache and that going to Ollieland and back before logging out saves your progress. Seems like that has worked for many people – I never had that problem myself.

Yeah, and as I say only happens to me when I’m playing on my phone and using mobile data not on wifi – strangely.

Wow, this never happens. Figures, when I finally got back in I just started resetting for next event, cleared out buildings to inventory and stopped trying to collect anything and sent everyone back to tan lines. Oh well, even with extension still too far away from media character. This mini event was a disaster.

Congrats to those who were disciplined enough to see this through. I however spent clams to make up for the lack of time to collect my last cell phones to get the social media consultant..
