A Look In The Rear Week 3 Overview

Let’s Party Like It’s 1979!!!

The time travelling TV is still active and ready to take you another trip down memory lane. Yes it’s  time to go on a new adventure in Week 3 of A Look In The Rear.

EVENT ENDS

10th October 2018 at 3PM PDT.

You can see the countdown timer for the event and other details by clicking on the Event Info Icon at the bottom of your screen.

ADDICTS ANNOUNCEMENTS & INFORMATION

Remember you can only place buildings etc in the event area time they belong in, ie 50’s, 60’s or 70’s.

You’ll now see the currency icon in each event area matches the currency collected in that era.

Again one freemium character to unlock this week.

The TV Guide Week 1 & 2 Achievements can still be completed, in fact I recommend it even if you don’t want the prize, as you can exchange Bread & Scratch for Cheddar.

As mentioned above, in 1970’s Quahog you  can exchange Bread & Scratch for Cheddar.

Version 1.76.1

NOTICEABLE CHANGES

New 1970’s time to travel to.

GLITCHES & ISSUES

I’m not personally experiencing any new ones this week.

Glitches that continue from previous weeks include having 2 of 50’s Lois and 50’s Peter, however after using the task icon to put one of each on task I’ve simply sent the doppelgänger to Tan Lines for now. Not impacting play as yet.

Clam TV isn’t working.

If you are having any new issues let me know in the comments.

EVENT MATERIALS

Stink Bomb (Always): Get from Crafting in the Clammy Diner

EVENT AREA IN QUAHOG

There is still just 1 item up in the usual event area and it’s the fantastic transporting device, The Cursed TV.  This will allow you to travel back to yesterday years, starting last week with 1950’s Quahog, 1960’s Quahog and this week 1970’s Quahog. Just tap on it to see the  Cursed TV decades you can be transported back to.

Be aware most things you need to do this week will be done in 1970’s Quahog not in your standard Quahog. This includes some items in the store only showing up when you’re in 1970’s Quahog. But don’t neglect your duties back in 1950’s Quahog & 1960’s Quahog as you still want to get your hands on that Bread & Scratch to trade.

1970’s QUAHOG

By tapping on the Cursed TV in the event area or tapping the TV icon in the lower right corner of your game screen you can “travel” back in time to the 1970’s event area, here’s where you’ll earn stuff  and acquire items to further help you along in the event.

.

As the event progresses, more past decades will unlock for you to travel back to. But for now the latest decade you will see will be 1970’s Quahog.

To go to 1970’s Quahog, just select it from the Cursed TV screen, then tap “Let’s Go” and you will now be taken to an alternate play area. (And remember to return to your bog standard Quahog or go to 1950’s Quahog and 1960’s Quahog you just use the Cursed TV again, only selecting whichever of them as your destination).

You will notice a hammer to “repair” in 1970’s Quahog as you progress. This is for the character 1970’s Joe. He isn’t timed so don’t worry about repairing him. Once repaired you can start collecting items to unlock him.

As well as this you’ll all the usual event content such as buildings and baddies to defeat. And I’ll be breaking all this down below.

BOX Co APPLIANCE SHOP

Box Co is where you will trade the Event Currency you collect while playing the game to unlock Buildings & Decorations to use to further your game play in the Event.

Here are the items you can unlock during Week Three…

1960’s Drunken Clam: Always drops 2 Disco Balls every 4hrs

DISCO BUFFET

This will be you’ll trade your items, it’s essentially a “Crafting” area where you will combine materials to make the Stink Bombs you need to clear the Vandals.

 Stink Bombs

Needed to craft: 3 Stinky Cologne

Time to manufacture: 2hrs 30mins

You can be crafting up to 6 items in the Products Queue at a time. If the queue is full you will have to wait until one finishes before adding more into the Queue.

Basically just like previous weeks all you need to do is collect the necessary materials and then select the item you want to manufacture. Once you start manufacturing you’ll see items preparing in the section on the right. The clam cost to speed them up is also shown there.

And here’s a reminder of where you’ll get the materials you need for crafting:

Stinky Cologne (Always) –  Get from clearing Pushermen, 1970’s Pimp Car

PUSHERMEN

You will be able to start seeing Pushermen in your 1970’s Quahog when you trigger Pt. 2 of the main Questline.

You will find them wandering your 1970’s Quahog Playspace, so look there and you will find them. I’ve only had 6 max available at any one time, and they seemed to be released in my game every 4 hours. Be aware if you place a Sidewalk that’s where they will gather.

Clearing them is pretty simple, you need one of the following characters, Bonnie, 70’s Joe or Pimp Giant Chicken to clear a Pusherman, all have a 5 hour task to do this.

Firstly make sure there is a Pusherman in your town and send Bonnie, 70’s Joe or Pimp Giant Chicken to clear him, you can access their tasks either by clicking on their profile or by clicking on a Pusherman and tapping GO.

Characters Used:
Bonnie
70’s Joe
Pimp Giant Chicken

Task Time: 5hrs

For example the task you’re looking for Bonnie is: File A Complaint

As I said it takes 5 hours to clear each Pusherman and you can see the task progress by clicking on the character during their task. Once the character has completed  you it will auto complete and you can gather your rewards.

Per Pusherman Cleared:
7 Stinky Cologne (Always)
1 Platform Shoes (Chance)

VANDALS

You will be able to start seeing Vandals in your 1970’s Quahog when you trigger Pt. 2 of the main Questline.

Like Pushermen you will find them wandering your 1970’s Quahog Playspace, so look there and you will find them. Be aware if you place a Sidewalk that’s where they will gather. and you will find them. I’ve only had 8 max available at any one time, and they seemed to be released in my game every 4 hours.

Now with these you can clear 4 with 1 Stink Bomb so my advice is to put down just a single piece of Sidewalk and the Vandals will gather in that one small area making it easy to clear 4 with each Stink Bomb. Once you have at least 1 Stink Bomb tap a Vandal and then place the target over the Vandals and Fire.

And here’s a reminder where you can get those Stink Bombs.

Stink Bomb (Always): Get from Crafting in the Clammy Diner

The rewards you get will depend on how many Vandals you clear.

Per Vandal Cleared:
1 Cheddar (Always)
1 Gold Chain (Always)

TV GUIDE WEEK 3

You’ll find a full and more detailed post on up on the site soon!!!

Think of this as a “CHECK LIST” of items that will help you gather resources for the Event.

You can get to the current TV Guide Screen by tapping on the Icon in the lower right corner of the game screen. You get to last 2 weeks Guides by tapping the Green Arrow when you’re in the Week 3 Guide, it’s at the top left.

Once you complete a task you will see CLAIM appear  above the icon.

You must  be mindful of this and tap on the “CLAIM” button next to an order to gain your reward. As I say be vigilant on collecting rewards in order you trigger the subsequent task.

To go quickly to location of a task you need to complete, tap on the “GO” icon next to it.

Here is the list of what I currently see in my game for this Weeks TV Guide  (as you clear one or progress through the event, another will appear)…

Dy-No-Mite

Drug Culture

Stankonia

Property Damage

Keep On Keepin’ On

Downtown Explosion

The Sci-Fi Zone

GRAND PRIZE: If you complete 68 Achievement Tasks, you can also unlock a 1970’s Van.

  6. Another possible glitch I’m experiencing is that I only have 7 Vandals in my game instead of 8. This sucks because if I have 2 stink bombs, I can only use one. It would be a waste to drop the second on the remaining 3 Vandals when there should be 4 instead. I’m stuck waiting for them to respawn each time before I can use a bomb again.

    • I had this also

      • You used the word “had”, were you able to find a way to fix it?
I’m tempted to bomb the odd 3 vandals in hopes that they will respawn as the correct 4 instead. However, doing so will throw off my cleared vandal count to be an odd number which will likely drive me batty! Not sure if the insanity is worth the gamble! 🙂

      • yup .. i have this as well .. i was surprised the first time i dropped two bombs and only 3 were hit the second time .. now i just wait for them to respawn

    • I found that sometimes, when you clear 4/7, it seemed to prompt the 8th (now 4th) to spawn fairly quickly (while I was checking other tasks) allowing me to clear another group of 4. Then 1 spawned almost immediately again, but of course you have to wait for 3 more before attacking again.

  7. On Facebook, things seem ok now, no more ray gun or green circle glitch. Love these kind of events! The multiple time zones give us a lot more to do – it’s like multiple games whereas we usually have just one. Glad it is not all costumes. Also really like that when new characters/costumes have only two parts to their questline – it was a drag when it was 5! Rock and roll.

  8. if i buy Pimp Giant Chicken and I don’t have Giant Chicken do I unlock him ???

  9. So I’m noticing that when I go to 70’s Quahog Bonnie’s clear pusher task auto clears if it’s finished. So I don’t have to check off a yellow check box, she is just walking around since her task is done. I’m still getting credit for the task, it just looks like she didn’t do anything. This only happens after the five hour mark. During the task it’s still animated correctly.
