BACKUP DANCERS

These are the little baddies this week of the event and are quite simple to deal with, it’s just a simple tap and they are gone.

As always you will find these wandering around your sidewalks.

Simply tap one of them and it’s gone.

I am seeing up to a maximum of 4 in my game. But they seem to be slow in replenishing at this time.

The event rewards for clearing Backup Dancers are as follows:

Per Backup Dancer Cleared
1 Gold Hat (Always)
1 Cane (Chance)

There you have the overall basics to get you started through the 5th Anniversary Event. Where are you so far? Anything particular you like the most? Suggestions or tips to fellow players? Let us know.

  1. While I agree with everyone about how ridiculous the stamp card is, I do have to say I am very pleased with how easy the free stuff is. I was only missing 5 items from the mystery box, 3 of which are full characters (REALLY surprised the golden dragon is a character and not a deco btw!!!) and with two days left now, I’ll have gotten 5 new characters in a weeks time, including Conseula, which I’m very pleased with. The mass use of past characters for the hats made this really easy for a change. Can’t beat 5 new characters, 2 costumes and 50 clams in just a week for a minimal amount of work.

  2. I think the paid stamp card for getting Brian is a smack in the face to all players and TC/JC need to have a word with themselves about it.

Where are Meg and Chris’s gold suit characters?

I like the 50 hat mystery box to allow players to get older characters they may have missed. I’ve been playing for yrs and only had 2 to collect so go the 50 clams on the first go, but it was nice to see them throw something in for newer players to achieve.

The only gripe I have is the Gold Pants drop for Peter having the notorious ‘uncommon’ drop rate. For 3 days I didn’t have a single drop – just had a new baby so have been awake all hours of the day night and my collections for this have been bang on. Made 9 collections in 72hrs and I didnt get a single pair of pants. That doesn’t seem ‘uncommon’ – not when ‘rare’ charge cards were dropping for me 1 in 3.
I messaged TC about it who said they’d be in touch in 48hrs but its gone past that now and they still haven’t replied.

    • I think the Gold Hat mystery box is the thank you for playing, but some long time players like me already had all those. The stamp card I agree, not implemented well at all. I am all for rewarding those who spend money on the game, after all it keeps the game going but not knowing how much exactly and the rising cost of tiers isnt for me.

As for Chris & Meg they may come at a later date, we’ve seen ideas split over various events before. Might be good idea having them in the Best of Event at end of year, but I don’t know anything for sure.

  3. I only opened the Big 5 Mystery Box once and don’t see it in the shop anymore… is it a ONE TIME thing?

  4. Interestingly, I just had Zeus and Biker Brian show up as available clam purchases. Zeus was 99 clams, Biker Brian 179 clams. I gave Biker Brian a miss as I don’t normally care much for costumes and 179 is still too expensive for a costume. I’m curious to see if more characters and costumes will become available as the week goes along then.

Just a quick question. I bought the big bundle of clams and they did not add up in the stamp card… Does it only work with the lower value bundles?! I’ve contacted support about it, because to my knowledge it was supposed to rollover regardless of the clam amount (as long as it’s at least minimum stamp card value).
    Thanks!

So I gave in a bought a bunch of clams. Finished first tier but have yet to get a prize. Second tier stamps cost $10 each. ***** that. That would be $75 toward Brian BEFORE the cost of 3rd tier. Thats outrageous. Unhappy.

  7. Haha, I had to laugh. Mystery box says “give yourself a gift on our birthday” when you have to work for it it’s hardly a gift. And I agree with others, I’m sitting at what looks like $100 (5×20) in the stamp card for gold Brian, hell no. The opening credit dance is cute though.

  8. Pretty underwhelmed – I would have hoped TC/JC would have seen this as a ‘thank you’ event (given out some birthday presents, for example) rather than a ‘let’s see how much we can gouge them for’ event…as Bill T pointed out, no Meg or Chris outfit…

And, holy cow, regardless of applicable currency, Gold Suit Brian is stupid expensive…I’ve only been playing for three years, so I’m not aware if there has been a similar offer in the past for such an expensive character…Kool-Aid Man is 700 clams, which would be ~$23US for me at the cost I would buy clams – and that’s not happening anytime soon…Gold Suit Brian is potentially >$100 for me…definitely not happening…they threw a birthday party for themselves and they want us all to chip in on a big present…huh…rather than thanking us for helping them reach a 5th year anniversary…well, then…

    • There are gifts, a mystery box that costs hats, not clams, and has some vefy good prizes. Also, we do get some free clams and can save up for toons like Koop aid guy

Well, I’ve purchased Gold Suit Stewie and have every character/costume from past events with drops for Gold Suit Peter and Gold Suit Lois.

So this should go pretty well, right? Let’s see…

…yes, thankfully it was quick and easy to complete with so many ways to acquire the materials! Have now unlocked Gold Suit Peter & Gold Suit Lois as well as emptying the mystery box (only had Queen Of Hearts Stewie, Davy Jones and 50 clams to collect), so I’m done with all the important event goals. All that remains are the optional extra fountains for 50 and 60 hats each. It’s too bad we can’t earn Gold Suit Brian during the remaining half week, but someone’s gotta pay the bills and I’m happier as a freeloader than a whale!

  10. Is there some odd trick to the stamp card setup? I bought claims but I can’t figure out how to claim the rewards, maybe fellow addicts know before I go thorough TC “support”.

    Like

    • They should just automatically fill as you buy Clams worth the amounts. I’d definitely contact support

      Like

      • The amounts on the top of the card reset 3 times (one for each tier). I believe they start out at $4 each ($20 total). Then they go to $10 each ($50 total), finally in with an absurd amount of $20 each ($100 total).

The prize unlocks immediately after your clam purchase. I got a clam reward both times (quite a few actually…at least 75 for the first one).

This means that in order to unlock Gold Suit Brian you would have to spend $170 of real money. Good luck to anyone who unlocks this one!!

      • I thought as much, I’m waiting to hear back from support (they apparently mean it when they say up to 48 hours). The only thing I can figure is I didn’t use the buy clams button within the stamp card display, so maybe it somehow didn’t “register” that I had bought clams partly (mostly) with this stamp card thing in mind.

        • Hopefully they sort it quickly as it really should register any Clams bought

          • It’s been three days now, and in classic Jam City (or whatever they’re calling themselves this week) fashion, no response, no fix, nothing. I messaged them again to helpfully remind them that this is still a problem. If they don’t get it fixed soon I’m going to demand they just hand over Brian and 200 clams…seems only fair as I bought whatever the biggest clam pack is.

            • Hope they sort it soon.

              • Still no fix. The only response I got was a request for a screenshot “to help better understand the problem”. With mere hours left in this event I’m not hopeful an actual fix is forthcoming. I messaged them again to remind them that this is still an issue and that I don’t believe an actual fix will be forthcoming, and asked them to just gift the 200 clams and Gold Suit Brian–I don’t honestly know if the amount I spent would have gotten me to GS Brian, but I don’t figure it would hurt to ask. Rather disappointing overall (the stamp card issue and the lack of support–the rest of the event was pretty decent fun).

      • What annoyed me is that the “free” mystery box I got from clams/stamps didn’t give me credit toward the quest line. End of the day I still have plenty of hats after emptying my mystery box options, so I advanced anyway, but I probably wouldn’t have spent $80 on clams otherwise, esp now that I know it’s another $100 to get Brian.

        • I think it’s because that was marked a gift box and not a try at the mystery box but I agree the Stamp card hasn’t been a welcome addition.

  12. Are the stamp values varying by the player? Where you show $4, $6, and $10 for the three tiers, in my game they have been $4, $10, and $20!

Wow. Kind of a lame event. Basically, you need to spend money to get Stewie and Brian…no Chris or Meg in their gold outfits…if you don’t have some of the old characters to help you collect stuff you’re ******, and the old characters you can win from the box are kind of lame, too–a lot of them are just different outfits for regular characters. I expected something better for the big 5th year anniversary. I’ll pass.

    • i kinda/somewhat agree about the tier boxes how you have to spend so many clams to continue to go higher and higher. it’s like in other games they do promotions once you fill something up and you can buy that for one price or whatever like what’s the point lol example: in the strategy games like poppin’ balloons or boxes. i’m excited over this event though i cannot say that enough lol

  16. I got some clams to start the event and it unlocked the first two boxes at the top of the stamp card (I got a clam reward x75)! However, now the last three boxes show $10, $10 and $10. This doesn’t seem quite right. Quite the cash grab here!
