Hi there fellow addicts.
Yes, finally they’re in, the poll results from the The Clue Event.
Firstly I’d like to take a minute to thank everyone who voted, seriously big thanks to all my fellow addicts who take the time to respond to these polls, without your interaction it just wouldn’t be possible to have posts like this, or to show TinyCo what we are thinking and would like to see in our games going forward. So thanks for taking that minute out of your day to be part of this community.

So the majority played until the end of the event but didn’t complete it is a sign that event wasn’t well thought through.

Or, actually it is a sign that many of us know there is no reason to complete the questline in the final week of an event. In fact, it can often distract from getting the last character.

yes! and too further that statement, it seems as though mostly every single event so far in the past couple of months THAT is the majority response on what is happening!always always ALWAYS a high percentage of players ARE and DO play til the very end of the events but cannot complete. TinyCo. needs to be taking note of that. and that’s why i am so so glad RT does these polls. the numbers show A LOT of circumstances. thank you RT!

I get all the characters but do not vote that I complete the event cuz I do not complete the questline in the final week. Therefore, “did not complete” does not necessarily mean that there is anything wrong with the event or that the player did not have a successful event.

Maybe I should split the question to 2 separate questions… Did you unlock all the freemium characters/costumes and another one asking if you completed the event. Thoughts?

It’s a tough question because it looks like “completing” the event can apparently mean different things to different players. Some think it means completing the final week questline whereas I generally ignore it and consider the event completed if I unlock the characters available in the final week. But, if the final character is just a costume, I might skip unless it completes a facespace set for clams.
So “completion” is subjective. Some even feel they need to get every event deco etc. Some get upset they did not “complete” even though it was because they did not check in often enough or made strategy errors. In conclusion, to me the key question is how many got the characters/costumes and maybe the questions are fine ai is. Maybe put “complete” in quotation marks reflecting its subjective nature.
I am starting to see why some of my colleagues say I overthink things, but someone has to make up for the fact most people “underthink” You “rock,” RT.

I think to be fair the subjective nature of what players see as completing the event in their aims is exactly the issue with the question. So yourself and others are spot on, there’s been a suggestion of separating it into 3 questions which might let players express more what they completed rather than referring to event completion.

that’d work.
or instead of just Yes/No answer add extra options such as ‘yes all characters and questline completed’, ‘got all characters but gave up on quest’ .. or something like that

There would be so many choices, that’s why I thought about splitting. Another comment has suggested splitting it into 3, I think might work, have look at the comment and let me know what you think?

Maybe split into 3 questions as people’s priorities are different …
1. Did you unlock all freemium characters/costumes?
2. Did you unlock all freemium (prize track) buildings/decorations?
And rather than asking if we completed the event, be more specific/direct …
3. Did you complete the final questline?
I personally usually ignore the last couple quests as there’s no benefit to actually completing them, so technically I don’t “complete” the event, but I still get everything therefore “completing” the event.

Thanks for feedback…. see what others say but happy split into 3 like this.

I think those three options cover it quite well!

Those questions seem good to me as well. Just to chime in, I have always defined “completing the event” as finishing the questline/seeing the Icon disappear. (And starting on the Individual Characters who were tied up earning currency before the next event starts.)

Thanks. I saw completing event that way as well.

That’s what completing the event means to me too.
Some people may have got all they want from the event but if there are questlines still active then it’s not completed.

Also, although I do not bother wit.h the final week questline, I usually play to the end collecting event currency cuz sometimes they release event buildings etc for purchase on the last day or so.
