Let’s go on our travels through the latest battle quest in Behind The Scenes.
Yes it’s time for us to gather round and take a look at all you will encounter in the Side Questline, Blooper Reel.
***There’s 3 parts total and you’ll be awarded a ticket for completing each part, this will allow you to open the Blooper Reel Mystery Box which has 3 prizes, 15 Clams, 30 Clams and Bert. So each part you complete gives you a chance to get Bert, complete all 3 parts and you’ll clear out the mystery box and get Bert. But you’ve only hit until 26th May at 6PM PST to complete it**
Just for your information, my Mystery Box opens went as following, I got 30 Clams, then 15 Clams, which of course left Bert to get last.

Pretty disappointed I wasn’t able to get Bert who is played by one of my favorite actors. Part 3 seemed impossible to finish without spending some serious chedder.

Kind of wild that team stewie would lose. One would think that stewie is so popular most people would pick that team. I think the russians muddled in the competition

How many clams did we get for being on the losing team? Because I got none as far as I know. The advertising for the event indicated it would be a sizeable amount.

Wow. Complete disappointment. At least I have been cashing in on OT this weekend as a veteran working through our Memorial Day weekend. Guess how many clams I will buy.
Zeropointzero. Might go to Vegas tho. Better odds at winning something there… 🙃

With characters earning a maximum two Fake Friends every four hours (the rest collecting for Sheila), there was no way I was progressing past Part 1 of this quest. Also picked the losing team this time, so no Bert for me. Wish JC/TC would let me opt out of these stupid us-vs-them battles.

I collected 39/40 for Part 2, but then had to wait for more Fake Friend drops, and missed the deadline. (I forgot it was only a short competition.) And I picked Team Stewie too, so only ended up with one try at the Mystery Box. 😦 (But hey; free clams never hurt!) 🙂 As for “opting out”, just don’t play… The Questline disappears at the end of the competition, unlike other Questlines, so there is nothing forcing you to compete. If the rest of the team wins, so do you! 😉
On a side note, my game said I cleared over 7000 Extras: I wish!

Sometimes I get the feeling they don’t want us to complete stuff and get characters. If it wasn’t for this blog I wouldn’t even know there was a blooper mystery box. Or that you could use tickets to get a chance to open it.
I wish the game would be properly online again soon, this game really ***** on mobile.

They want it to be difficult so you panic and spend clams on it. But all they need to do is set fair prices and I’d happily spend them – which for me would be around 50-100 clams (worth $1.99-3.98) for a full character.

Apparently, this will keep going until you get it complete. I just got the losing reward for the battle and this questline is still available to finish. I only need 16 more, so hopefully it doesn’t disappear.

Got the 15 clams
and the 30 clams
I’m only 10/50 for the third box
Most probably won’t make it on time
Also those laptops are such a pain … and I’m really struggling to beat the drunk guys with Brian alone (one fight every 8 or 16 hrs .. kills half a guy .. so basically one guy each 24 or 32 hours) … i only got 2 pink fan mails out of 9 and still working on the third building that drops skulls (which im done with btw)

Just as i figured, I got 15 clams and then 30 clams….now I have not enough fake friends to do part 3.

Completed all three. But the box doesn’t seem to want too open. Thankfully attempting to open doesn’t reduce the number of tickets.

I’m having the same issue. I have three tickets, but clicking on the mystery box does nothing. I hear a “ka-ching” sound, then nothing.

Click on the mystery box, then Prizes, does it still show any, if not check your inventory for Bert. Otherwise screenshot that you have a ticket and message TinyCo asap.

Clicking on the mystery box does nothing, can’t see a prize window. Just get a pop sound and then nothing. When I expand the mystery box it shows correctly that I have 3 tickets, just can’t get the mystery box window to open. Playing on IOS, have restarted device, uninstalled and reinstalled game, same results.

That’s what I’ve done. Screenshotted that I have three tickets. When I try to click the mystery box the menu just closes like I hit the close arrow on the far right. iOS. Waiting for a reply from TinyCo.

Opened the game and found Bert with the unlock icon floating over him. So it looks like they resolved it on their end.

Had the exact same issue, and basically came here to see if it happened to anyone else. During the team-vs-team battle I thought it might just not be active yet, but nothing happened while clicking the mystery box after that part of the event ended either. Was hoping it would work better the next day (team-vs-team ended at midnight for me) but by then it was obviously gone. Didn’t really understand the whole “3 hours after the end of the event” as there was a larger event running at the same time but for a lot longer, plus the mystery box didn’t open, so I figured they wouldn’t remove it until it actually worked. Did anyone manage to resolve this situation at all?

I did, sort of. The “event” ended before I could get in contact with support and the mystery box was gone. However, today I saw that it’s back in my inventory and I still had the three tickets. I was able to open it three times to get the clams and the character. I was upset that my team Stewie didn’t win it and I couldn’t open it using the tickets I worked hard for. Who chose team Brian anyway? Weird.
