Got Chris but still working on Brian. I’ve decided that I don’t need a steamy automobile and I just bought the Titanic, because we love cruising. Hope I can get the sub before the end.

I think the Titanic is one of my favorite items in the game so far. It looks really good on the water! I think I’ll park in just in front of the iceberg. 🙂

The questline is complete, side questlines are in process, poor Seamus, who has toiled admirably, spending countless hours ice fishing for pickaxes, deserves to rest in the warm climes of Tan Lines…but, no, I need more pickaxes…so I can break more icebergs…and add to my collection of 256 First Class tickets…which are completely useless at this point and due to disappear into the dark hole of the Internet in two days…because I have a problem, an addiction…must earn more First Class tickets…
Totally agree, far easier and what we needed after the abomination that was the Quahog casino event…

The only purchase I made was the Lady Stewie costume and being able to collect life preservers from the beginning has made this one relatively easy as castaways drop far more First Class Tickets than breaking icebergs…at this point, I’ve collected all the items (including the Titanic), so I’ll likely complete the questline by default…
The castaways are definitely challenging – at first, I was just going for 2 at a time as it’s touchy on my device, but I’ve been able to get 3 (with patience!) several times and 4 (with luck!) twice…I tried lining up ships to block them in (ala, removing road for land-based critters), but they just went between them, LOL…for people who want to be ‘saved’, they sure make it hard to ‘help’ them!
The pick axes are tough drops, but with the Stewie costume, it didn’t really effect me…the toughest drop has been the Fancy Frocks – with Lois and Jerome tasked since the beginning to drop frocks, I’m only at 8/12 for Lady Chris as I have everything else…I could pay (72 clams) to get the costume, but at this point, I’ll just grind it out and save the clams…the worst that will happen is I won’t have time to complete Part 8, so no big deal…certainly better than the last event…wait, ANYTHING would have been better than the last event, IMHO…

Only joking, maybe set your sights lower and try for just 2, and have the crosshair ready once the 2nd Castawsy gets close to the 1st. Is your device possibly freezing on launch causing a slight delay, I’ve had that in a previous event. It meant although I fired timely, the slowdown in my device reacting meant things escaped.

When you tap one, yes, it brings up the aiming icon, but the castaway also stops for 5 – 6 seconds. When a couple get close, I tap one, quickly ‘x’ out the screen (close the aiming icon), then tap on the other. This is how I’ve gotten three at times, you have to time it so the third motors into the area, it’s tough, very frustrating…

Icepicks are common but for me they are dropping like rare item 😦

Ditto, I have had about a 55% drop rate on icepicks but a 100% drop rate on fancy frocks!

The “Fancy Frocks” are 8 hours for a ‘chance’ to get them – and you need 12! Probably the worst part of the event, fun diversion event otherwise.

Would it make sense to skip the Lifeboat –which doesn’t drop anything– and get all the other’s instead? (To speed up making Chris’ costume.) Anyone see a future problem with that? Other than the story being delayed.

It’s a mini event so completing main Questline isn’t necessary so you could certainly do that

Yes…my strategy is to skip the main quest line. I already have enough shoes and lipsticks so I will not acquire the buildings that drop those. I’m concentrating on the costumes and I’m saving my tickets to get the Titanic. Relaxing week after the Vegas event!
