Hello There Clammers!
So last night saw another late night update. This time TinyCo added 3 new Sarcophagi to Quahog. While they still cost 120 clams each, these special ones will ONLY drop Jelly-Yo Shots (of various colors). Let’s break down the details….
Inside the event tab in your store you’ll find the three sarcophagi…
Like the other sarcophagi…you’re paying 120 clams for a chance NOT for the actual Sarcophagus. You’ll get the shots, the Sarcophagus will go back to the store….
Each one will award you 8, 12, 18 or 25 Jelly-Yo shots. The difference here is you can get specific to each color shot you may need.
NOTE: The detail screens don’t show 8 as a prize, but if you hit the little green prizes box it’ll show you the 8, 12, 18 & 25 options
So those are the details on it…
Now, here’s my opinion. Don’t get it. With half the prizes costing less in clams if you just rushed the tasks for the characters..while granted you’re not guaranteed to get the same color, it’s still cheaper.
My opinion…don’t drink and gamble.
If you’re REALLY certain you want to get this…WAIT. There’s still a few more days left in the event, so wait until the last possible second to do this. This way you can see 1) how many you’ll accumulate on your own and 2) TinyCo MAY drop something else to help get the shots that’s a little cheaper. We all know they do random things like that. So play the wait and see method….at least that’s what I would do.

Game is a total rip off. It appears the quest for stuff is them being in a quest for our stuff. I.e. our money.

I’m not sure if anyone here has already said this, but my game has a new item in the event part of the store called the ‘booty box’. This costs 4000 butts to get a prize, but it’s prizes can include butts.
I’ve tried this 3 times, and got 5500 butts (yay, profit), an inflammable dry bush garden (meh) , and an anubis status (a nice Egyptian sphinx drinking booze upside down).
It also lists clams and other decorations as prizes.
Depending on how often you win butts, this may be very useful in getting 100000 butts
I just wish I didn’t already spend most of my butts on decorations.
I’ve got the Android version of the game.

I had 20,000 butts able to be spent, so I just decided to go for it. I won a skate park THREE times. Which is terrible for me because I have OCD about having nothing in my inventory and I the game doesn’t let you sell anything. I won 5,000 butts and 5,500 butts, woo! I also won a Lincoln statue and the Anubis Statue.
As of now, I’m gonna spent my butts on this when I get 4,000 again. As it raised my total earned by 10,500. I now only need 9,000 more to get to 100,000.

I’d like to see them add a 1 hr task that drops shots to actually give freemium players a “shot” at getting king butt.

Didn’t see anything about the Sarcophagus you can buy for 4000 butts, so I thought I would mention it. I got the wheelchair skate park and one of the statues.

120 clams for only up to 25 shots? What kind of crappy math are they using? What a rip! I certainly hope they learn some things from this event, like what NOT to do, for their next event. Like, do they realise they’re making EA look good, by comparison? Not a compliment. When you’re more money grubbing than EA us, that’s a really bad thing.
They’re not getting one red cent from me. (Or purple, or blue!) none if the prizes are worth the effort it takes to get them! (Except Cleveland)

Oh, and since you can rush from the beginning of 4 hour tasks for 8 clams:
(assuming you get your color)
8*8 = 64
12*8 = 96
18*8 = 144
25*8 = 200
You KNOW you will get 8 and 12 far more often than 18 or 25. Heck, with 2 hours, then rush for 4:
8*4 = 32
12*4 = 48
18*4 = 72
25*4 = 100
all cheaper than 120.

My thoughts?
The plural of sarcophagus is sarcophagi, or if you must, sarcophaguses.
But NEVER sarcohagus’s.
Sarcophagus, from Ancient Greek, sarc: flesh; phagein, to eat, literally, flesh-eating.
Sarcohagus, on the other hand, would be a Scottish dish made from human flesh, and sarcohagus’s would be a strange possessive form of the word. It should be sarcohagus’
It wouldn’t be Cguy without a bizarre spelling/grammar/etymology post.

This event has been a huge gamble and many players have wasted their clams on it. I’m disappointed in this app for taking advantage of its new customers. I’m still playing the game, but I hope to see the prices of premium items dwindle as players become more and more annoyed with TinyCo’s antics. My opinion on the sarcophagus is that you should NOT get it. I got a few and when the streak meter hit 50x, I was expecting THOUSANDS of moon idols (just as TinyCo had said). But no, all I got was 7500. Now I’m stuck around a score of 80,000 because I was expecting so many more idols from the streak meter. I was expecting King Butt, too (to get him you need a score of 100,000)! Don’t waste any money on the rest of this event, because it’s just that… a WASTE!!!

I can’t for the life of me get any of the 3 charachters to drop purple shots. I’m sitting on 10 blue shots, 8 red, and only 2 purple shots (of 8) which is what I need to defeat king butt. Super lame. I know adventure Peter and Cleveland are supposed to sometimes drop purple shots but in almost a day they’ve only dropped 1 (I already had 1 from the first go around). Any suggestions?

Honestly I don’t know any tips to get certain colors to drop. It’s all random 😦

That’s not what another poster said! Quagmire and Cleveland each drop one of two colors. Peter and Adventure Peter each drop one of two colors, but a different set. Of course, I keep losing track of that post, so I forget which colors are which, but I replied ~”important information if true”

Never mind, found it. At least two other posters have proclaimed: “Quagmire’s task drops red or blue shots (but no purple), Cleveland’s task drops purple or blue (no red) and Peter has two different tasks with two different colour combinations – red/purple for Walk Like an Egyptian (Adventure Peter) or red/blue for Tickle Nose with Army Rifle”

Correct all u can do is use peter to try and balance your colors out. U should always be heavy in red, but for me it seems like i get a lot of blue at times and lately its been purple. So ive just switched back to reg peter because my blue color is the lowest atm. So this gives me the best possibility of getting more blue. But don’t be surprised to get 2 red and a purple from Cleveland that first time.U feel like it’s being mean, but it really is random and odds even say ekly getting a red shot It really as been super random for me, but that’s the best tip I got, “USE PETER!”

I’ve beaten him 2x only so I’m thinking of letting the timer go and just stock up and wait till the last min to give them to king butt. I did not loose much yet.

So far I defeated King Butt twice, does it matter how many times you beat him? As long you get 100k Butt Idols to win him correct?

So, I shouldn’t start trying to beat king butt immediately right? Let the shots build until I have enuf to make at least 1 full run for the x50? I have about 85000 butts right now so if I’m thinking correctly 1 full run all the way, plus what I get from mummies and misc tasks I will def get the 100000 I need to unlock him? Is my math right or am I wishful thinking?

Haha… Can’t say I’m surprised. I expect more clam based items in the next few days.
I just want this event to end now. Take a little break and come back as a complete free player, hoarding daily clams!
With lowered hope and expectations, hopefully I will be a happy player again 🙂

I’ve lost interest in this already. It’s only the second day and I have no chance of getting 8 purple shots. Been trying since nine o’clock last night (even went to bed late and got up early) and still only have two shots. Now they try to get me to spend that kind of money to gamble? This game is seeming like a big money grab more and more each day. I’ll keep playing, but I don’t care about getting the prizes or anything in the game really. This event started well but I’ve completely soured on it and the game.

Sigh. I’m an idiot anyway. I sped up things with some clams(about 32) so I made the 8 shots just in time. I’m such a sucker. I didn’t waste a lot and I’m not going to do it anymore, I just figured with a little jump-start maybe I could get a good base and accumulate a bunch of butts. I was thinking about it and part of the reason I don’t care as much about getting everything like I do in TSTO is that the shows are so different. I really like Family Guy, but the items and characters in the game don’t have the emotional attachment that the Simpsons stuff does. For instance, the Stonecutter event is taken directly from a great classic episode. What in the world is King Butt? There’s no history, no story mirroring a great episode, just a bunch of stuff and characters that mean nothing to me. I’m not spending a bunch of real money to get that! Thanks for letting me whine! I’m feeling much better now.

Like you said not worth it. I’ll admit, i’m a free player and have built up quite a bit of clams over time from completing tasks, unlocking characters, visiting neighbors, and etc. I haven’t purchased any, so, when I see I have to spend almost have my stash on 1 sarcophagus, I don’t even get to keep, and once again its a a gamble, so, NO WAY! If you they want to do chance, I suggest lowering the price, but if your set at pricing 120 clams, then give me something w/ a guaranteed amount, or drop rate, and an item I can decorate my town with. (EX: A little stand like they showed in the tutorial for the fighting stages.)

I hate this! Sarcogagi have screwed me over before and i dont even have enough clams left to get this if i wanted too! I would buy a stall that dropped one though, because this is to get a character… how many clams does it take to speed up peter, quagmire, or clevelands 4hr tasks, cause i may end up resorting to that…

I hate them. I really was hoping to have some stalls to go with King Butt. It would add to his area. At least let people own the Stewie on display here. This is just all kinds of wrong.

I am just wondering if the weekly begging for cash release items are going to continue beyond the event. Every time there is a new release I think, holy smokes can they really keep doing this? Apparently so.

the dollar store sells jello powder cheaper then clams. I’d rather go out and buy real jello, make the jello, spike the jello and consume the real butt style jello with some friends and hit the town….. 🙂 LOL !!!! They even have more variety then the Sarcophogus’s. They got Lime, Lemon, Banana and others.
