Sweet! After nearly 2 years of me telling TinyCo to release an update around sports they finally listened (cause you know, we’re not all nerds like Bunny..)! The update itself has NOT hit the games yet, but be sure to download the latest verision (1.17.0) so you can play once it goes live! (And if I were you i’d anticipate it going live sometime in the next 48hrs…just based on the update hitting the stores etc)

Well Bunny’s still healing..and all hopped up on pain meds…so I get the fun of sharing with you guys the newest spoiler sent to us courtesy of TinyCo!
The snow has melted, Christmas is over…although if you look at the game icon you’d think otherwise (really TC can you fix that already? Tired of seeing nutcracker Stewie…)…and the Li’l Event is just about up (ends tomorrow, don’t forget), so what’s next in our Tiny Quahogs?

Family Guy Addicts 
Even if you’re not a fan, I would suggest giving this one a chance. I really don’t like football at all (on TV or in person) and run away from any football talk and football video games and can’t get to the remote control fast enough if a game pops up on TV. I only know vaguely who Tom Brady is because he pops up in the tabloids sometimes (my not so secret vice). But this event still looks interesting to me. It’s Family Guy, it’s silly, and you don’t have to know a thing about the game. And there’s a football uniform for Jesus to win (wonder if they’re including the character?), although I would have pegged him as more of a soccer guy. Looks like Bonnie gets a skimpy cheerleader outfit. I’m waiting to find out if there are timers on those things and stuff to collect or if we just mercifully get them as we progress enough in the game. Chris gets a football uniform also, but he’s at Al’s and has the usual requirements for collecting stuff by the end of the event. Crazed wandering fans apparently have to be taken out by wrenches, with wrench launchers incubating for half an hour. The usual mindless fun.

Hi Im from Ireland and I’m a big American Football fan. Also big New England Patriots fan so will have to get Brady premium or freemium I dont care. Cannot wait should be a great event as long as we have no silly bugs or ridiculous drop rates. Thought the drop rates for the two recent multiverse events were spot on. PS Pats all the way for superbowl 50

Should be a short event. I think the Super Bowl is on Feb. 7. Tom Brady will have to be a freebie if I were to want him in my game. Remember Deflategate and how the Colts were robbed?

Don’t forget, you’re playing a game about an American Cartoon. The family is based in Rhode Island in the USA. They’re doing events that are related to the show itself, things they do in the show. So an event like this fits right into the show…

A football event doesn’t appeal to me at all. It seems very alienating to all of us players who aren’t American… I hope it will be a short event but it sounds like it could be a major one like the Christmas event.

But just keep in mind, you’re playing a game about an American Cartoon. The family is based in Rhode Island in the USA. They do things in the game related to the show, this is one of those things.
I’d honestly suggest you give it a try before you immediately say you don’t want to play it without even seeing it. Star Trek didn’t even remotely appeal to me, yet I still played it.

I never said I wouldn’t play it. Of course I will still play, I just probably won’t be too bothered if I don’t complete it all. If I stuck through all the issues and glitches with other events I’m sure I can stick through this 😛
Yeah I’m not surprised they did an American football event since the show is set in America. I just think if they are going to sell both their show and app worldwide and take money from people in every country then they should be more sensitive to the fact that they have a worldwide audience and do something more people can relate to.

I will be able to have some time off from this game now. Sport does not interest me in the slightest. I am all for getting some daily exercise but just have never been into watching or playing actual sports. I let TinyCo know my opinion on the subject already, when they gave us the survey to fill out (last year). If it is to do with football, then it really does not interest me in the slightest, so I don’t mind if I just miss out on the content altogether. I know we don’t exactly know what it will involve but anything sports related is just not for me. If it makes other people happy though, then that is great. 🙂
We have already had PeterPalooza, which was my perfect event (music is my forte), so I have already been catered for anyway.

Well, I am not interested in football, but I was not interested in star trek either, and still enjoyed the play! On a positive note, absolutely zero temptation in purchasing any of the premium content, so it will be a freemium event all the way!

I am torn, i am a completist and like to have all the characters/buildings/items possible but it seems to be event after event after event with new stuff.
1)My bank card has just about recovered from dog multiverse/christmas/ lil griffins and now they throw something else at us.
2)Majority of tasks take the same people so i have still got jobs from characters i unlocked at christmas and lil griffins that need completing. I just would like a little bit of time to breath before them throwing more stuff at us.

Being Scottish I know nothing about American football, so this might be a learning curve for me, although I’m bit apprehensive as TinyCo hasn’t addressed the leaderboard issues from the previous event, so makes me wonder if I should throw all my attention at this or just casually play. Anyway Alissa if Bunny is still on the loopy juice I’m sure I and some others will try to assist you as best we can, time for a little payback from us lot.

You don’t need to know anything about the game. Just follow the instructions. I am blissfully and deliberately ignorant about American football despite being a native, but from what I’ve seen that’s no handicap. It’s the usual goofy stuff.

I would say..give it a try and see what you think first before assuming you won’t play. Having seen some of the things that will be in the game I think it’ll appeal to a broad audience.

This just seems like a bad idea i mean no one outside america will know any characters or references from this event plus we are gamers so theres likely to be a huge portion of people who dont care. Theres so many being segregated in this i cant imagine it will be successful at all.

I think the fact that its america-specific is my main problem, even if i were a football fan these characters would mean nothing to me 😛

So… just to be clear…. you are playing an American game based on American Cartoon Characters living in an American town doing American related things… and don’t like that it is American specific? Ummmmm… OK.
You do realize that would be like me saying that Dr. Who isn’t American enough for me, right? Or that Sherlock Holmes doesn’t revolve around Americans enough. Or that the Scottish aren’t American enough for me. Or that the Queen is too “Brittish” for me. Lol. Just seems pretty silly is all.
If you do not like it, fine… than don’t participate. Plain and simple. But to complain about American games being too American… well… where do you really think that convo will go? Just sayin. 😉

I’m really not a fan of sports so I haven’t got high expectations for this event, making this the first event I’m not getting hyped about, but this could turn out to be a fun event. Either way I’m going to give it a chance and hope that it will end up being fun, we just need to give it a chance. 🙂

Well, probably in part due to issues from the Christmas event, like the glitches, or those of us who STILL haven’t gotten the leaderboard prizes (or in some cases, any response at all about it). That can cause some fatigue from enjoying the game.

Oh i don’t blame you for not wanting to play because of THOSE reasons. (personally I haven’t played since mobsters cause it ticked me off THAT much) But to say you’re not going to play because of the theme of the event, without even trying it first is a little ridiculous in my opinion. I could care less about Star Trek, or even know who the hell half the people were, but I still played it. I didn’t get it, but I still played.

I hadn’t put a review for the game on the app store yet, and wouldn’t you know it, a “rate us!” reminder came on my device when I logged in today to check to see if they had done anything. Probably not their best timing, given the 1-star scathing review I gave. I have a rather strict code of ethics and don’t take kindly to having my honor questioned, which they have done by putting me in the “cheaters” category despite my not doing anything of the sort.
I agree that it’s a bit silly for people to say they’re not going to play because of the theme of the event, especially because it could very easily be more inclusive than they think, even if the supposed “main” theme involves American Football. The London Sillinannies could have a role, after all!

I actually *did* spend some clams (free ones that I’d gotten from watching ads), both to buy the T-600 and to speed up the 50-medal building the last few days (just 1-2 each time when I was going to go to bed). It seems that their rubric was “If a player was in the top 1000 and did not spend actual money to buy clams, they must be a cheater”

I would assume its at least a three week event as the super bowl is about three weeks away. Love Richard Sherman so excited to get him and see who else they bring.
