Too Many Griffins In The Kitchen Overview

Looks like TinyCo has cooked up a tasty new event, Too Many Griffins In The Kitchen, to keep us busy!!!

But before you start get hot under the collar or feel like you ve wandered into hell’s  kitchen here’s all the event info to help your event be a recipe for success.

EVENT ENDS

4th April 2018 at 3PM PST

ADDICTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

***This event isn’t an easy one to rush through to grab information for you, so you’ll need to keep checking back as I update the post as I progress through the first week of the event. But there’s nothing we’ve not seen before in previous events but it does look like it’s going to be a tough week at first glance***

CURRENT APP VERSION

Version 1.64.1

For any Android users you may see the App looking for new permissions when you update. TinyCo have told me the following regarding this:

When upgrading to the latest version of Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff, you will be prompted to allow us to access your contacts, media and files, and manage and make calls. This is due to Android app permission changes when upgrading from our current Android API level (22) to level 27. We will NEVER access your contacts, photos, or make any calls. This prompt is strictly to allow us to log your device specific id (IMEI), which allows us to restore previous saves that might be lost if you change devices.

NOTICEABLE CHANGES

None

GLITCHES

I’m not personally experiencing any. If you are having any issues let me know in the comments.

CHARACTERS

Guy Fieri (Full Character): 250  Clams. Task to always drop 1x Pizza every 4hrs

Should I Buy – Fun new character that will help you get moving a bit quicker through the first week of the event as he can get you a pizza drop every 4hrs. I think he’s one of these buys that is down to a couple of things, firstly whether you find the character amusing or not, personally I don’t know him which makes him an expensive event helper buy for me. But it’s important looking at the difficulty this week that he will give you a head start in the event, for this reason alone he could be your guy. So once again if the character makes you smile, or you want to get moving quickly then bring him to your town. But remember this is a 4 week event, so if you have limited clams you might want to wait to see what comes later. You’ll see a little taster of this in the Facespace section below.

Chef Peter (Character Costume): You’ll be directed to create him in Al Harrington’s at Pt 1 of the main Questline The Family That Food Trucks Together. Task to drop 1x Tomato.
Requires
10 Chef’s Coat (Uncommon): Quagmire Film A Cooking Show Pilot, Lois Cook Dinner
24 Butter (Common): Clear Pizza Customers
27 Chef’s Hats (Common): Peter Dress Like A Chef, Eat My Junk Truck
8 Aprons  (Uncommon): Mort’s Spaghetti Factory

De.ivery Boy Joe (Character Costume): You’ll be directed to create him in Al Harrington’s at Pt 2 of the main Questline The Family That Food Trucks Together.  The costume itself is NOT timed but there is a 40 Clam Reward if yo can unlock him within 7 days.
Requires
78 Pizza Flags (Always): Complete Taking Home Leftovers
8 Biker Gloves (Common): Clear Pasta Customer
27 Pizza Warmers (Common): Quahog’s Mini Mart, Stinky Cheese Shop
12 Delivery Hat (Uncommon): Jerome Hire Employees, Flavortown City Hall

Yes the Facespace sets are back in the game. You’ll find 3 new sets, Too Many Cooks, Gastro Club and Culinary Consultants.

BUILDINGS

***The buildings for this Week can be found in The Prize Booth – you’ll find full details in that section below***

DECORATIONS

Pizza Delivery Scooter – 250 Drops 4x Gelato every 8 hours.

Should I buy – I’d have said snap it up at 50 clams but at a 250, these decorations continue to be overpriced. You’d be better off spending those clams to get Guy Fieri. However Gelato is going to be needed for a lot of the buildings and this will help you get them quicker if your clam rich.

Quite simply where you go to see the ingredients you gave built up.Simply tap on it and you’ll see your totals on the board below.

PIZZA CUSTOMERS

These are one of this weeks little baddies and are quite simple to deal with, it’s just more of the tap, target and fire we’ve seen in previous events. Before you can clear them you’ll need to get some Pizza, you’ll get it here:

Pizza (Always): Cook At Papa Pete’s, Guy Fieri Taste Test

Once you have a Pizza you will find male and female pizza customers wandering your sidewalks, both dish out the same rewards.

Simply tap one of them to bring up the targeting screen.

Then move the Pizza until the green target circle is on a Pizza Customer, you’ll know it’s in target as it will turn purple, then simply hit the check mark to clear the Pizza Customer. You can only clear 1 at a time.

I am seeing up to a maximum of 8 in my game.

The event rewards for clearing Pizza Customer are as follows:

Per Pizza Customer Cleared
2 Gelato (Always)
1 Butter (Chance)

PASTA CUSTOMERS

These are this weeks other little baddies and dealing with them is the virtually the exact same as the Pizza Customers only you’ll need a different weapon, Pasta, and you’ll get different rewards. Before you can clear them you’ll need to get some Pasta, you’ll get it here:

Pasta (Always): Cook At Papa Pete’s

Once you have a Pasta you will find male and female pasta customers wandering your sidewalks, both dish out the same rewards.

Simply tap one of them to bring up the targeting screen then move the Pasta until the green target circle is on a Pasta Customer, you’ll know it’s in target as it will turn purple, then simply hit the check mark to clear the Pasta Customer. You can only clear 1 at a time. And again I am seeing up to a maximum of 8 in my game.

The event rewards for clearing Pasta Customer are as follows:

Per Pasta Customer Cleared
4 Gelato (Always)
1 Biker Gloves (Chance)

BEST FOOD OF 2018 SPECIAL ORDERS

You’ll find a full and more detailed post on this by clicking HERE!!!

Think of this as a “CHECK LIST” of items that will help you gather resources for the Event. There’s also a Clam reward achievement linked to unlocking Delivery Boy Joe within 7 days.

You can get to the current Special Orders Screen by tapping on the Icon in the lower right corner of the game screen.

Once you complete a Special Order you will see CLAIM appear  above the icon.

You must  be mindful of this and tap on the “CLAIM” button next to an order to gain your reward. As I say be vigilant on collecting rewards in order you trigger the subsequent task.

To go quickly to location of a Special Order you need to complete, tap on the “GO” icon next to it.

Here is the list of what I currently see in my game for this Weeks Special Orders (as you clear one or progress through Main Questline, another will appear)…

Special Delivery

Getting Saucy

Taking Home Leftovers

Too Many Cooks

From Farm To Table

WEEKLY PRIZE: If you complete 30 of the first weeks Special Orders you will unlock the Weekly Prize. This weeks prize is the Flavor Town Billboard.

There you have the overall basics to get you started through the first Week of the New Event. Where are you so far? Anything particular you like the most? Suggestions or tips to fellow players? Let us know.

  1. guess i’m sitting this one out since it hasn’t shown up yet on facebook/gameroom. phone is messed up, haven’t been able to play on it for a few months.

  2. Are there going to be just 4 new characters to purchase/unlock in this month-long event? Kinda stale if it’ll end up really just 4 new characters introduced + all the 6 character costumes (it’s becoming boring to unlock such costumes IMHO cause there are already over 230 of them in the game)!

In comparison to the He-Man event where we had 14 new characters and 0 costumes, looks like Tinyco is running out of ideas in terms of new content with this event and the previous snowlympics mini-event!!

The game has always alternated between events heavy on costumes and others involving many new characters. Remember TinyCo need to get the rights for other franchise material so there will be events where they mostly concentrate on costumes for what they can already use.

      • Yeah I understand but having just 4 characters in a month-long event seems rather underwhelming after experiencing the He-Man event. Costumes are becoming too bland compared to previous years!

Here’s hoping they’ll include more than just the 4 characters revealed! I’d really like to have Gordon Ramsay in the game XD

  3. hoping for an Alton Brown character to appear

  4. This looks to be one of the laziest events in a long time, although I quite like the new splash screen. Presumably someone at TC is a fan of Cooking Fever or similar. There’s almost no end to the ingredients they could use as drops. It’s already frustrating not to be able to get any tomatoes whilst customers clutter up the area demanding pasta dishes.

I’m going be honest and say I’m disappointed as this could been fun event full silly mini games, but instead it’s going be a tough grinding week. I hope I’m wrong but…..

Any characters or costumes that are available in the event will leave with the event unless you fully unlock or buy them before then

  7. I’m going to use this event as a breather. I was planning on skipping this unless it was revealed to be content I really liked. Guy Fierei sealed the deal. I wouldn’t mind a Tony the Tiger in my town, but that isn’t going to be enough to get me on. I’ll spend my time collecting up for the evil monkey and unlocking another level of Tan Lines instead! Still play daily, but maybe checking twice instead of every 3, 4, 6, and 8 hours!

  9. this is riddled with bugs. Joe’s costume is a blank space, so for three of items needed, clicking the van does nothing, trying to place items doesn’t work, all on Android. switches to facebook and gets an error message when trying to use van, how are we supposed to “make 1 pizza?”!
Worst start to an event, that I recall

    • I’m not seeing any issues on IOS or Android. Is your device possibly struggling? Or something corrupt in your game files? If you’ve saved your game to an account maybe time for a clean install.

      • Apparently my (Android) copy of the game is now unplayable. When I opened the App today it said that I needed to upgrade my version, but when I went to the Google Play store I got a message saying, “Your device isn’t compatible with this version.” I have a Samsung Galaxy S7, it’s not like it’s ancient. Is this really true, I can’t play any more? Do you know who I can contact?

I’ve saw few people saying they are having this issue with Tapped Out on S7 as well. What version android are you running? You can contact TinyCo via email at help@tinyco.com and ask them to confirm. Any other S7 players out there having this issue?

          • Looks like version 7.0, according to my settings? It claims it’s as up-to-date as possible, last updated itself in late January. I also play Tapped Out and URGH you’re right, same thing! This is so frustrating! I sent a message to TinyCo, but when I tried to send one to EA as well, I don’t think it worked.

  10. My Guy Fieri is silent, I was hoping for some freakin fast ride to flavortown, or some other wild comments from the triple d madman!

  11. Meh. It’s mostly costumes and a bunch of stuff I don’t want in my town. I don’t know who Guy Fieri is, and I don’t think I want to either 😛 I’m going to skip this event, so see you all in 27 days!
