Why Hello There Booty Grabbers!
Don’t mind me…just taking a trip through the 70’s on my way to finding Cleveland in the 80’s! How are you all doing with the booty grabbing? You shaking and grabbing plenty of booty?
So TinyCo dropped a little update to our Booty Event yesterday…and SURPRISE!!! It wasn’t at 11pm (est) on a Friday! And with the update came a fun new costume for Cleveland & a trip back in time to the 80’s! (St. Elmo’s Clam anyone?!)
I know you’re all hard at work earning the STUFF you need to unlock this pop star in YOUR Quahog, but let’s take a look at what happens after you’ve unlocked him, shall we?
So fasten your seatbelts and hop in the multiverse with me as we travel back in time 20+ years…..oh and don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes!

There you have it my friends, the complete questline for unlocking 80’s Cleveland! Not too bad, and something that’s completely doable before the end of the event.
Remember 80’s Cleveland is LIMITED TIME, which means you have until the end of the Moon Event to unlock him. So be sure you get your characters Twerking & mixing ASAP to get the stuff you’ll need to have this pop star in YOUR Quahog.

well looks like I’m not going to be able to get this :c I still have to get 18 of those shoes and 9 of those hair product thingies while trying to beat king butt… And no money for clams :c

It’s not fair…it just randomly popped out of nowhere I can’t get even get the regular cleveland!!i just wish that they could at least give more time to unlock him or not make him limited time I’ve been trying to get regular cleveland when it happens it’s impossible to unlock him

I’ve been down to the last jacket(and by the last jacket I mean it’s the only item I need overall) for 3 days now constantly grinding out the 4 hour missions at least 3-4 times a day each. They were dropping no problem, but now that I’m down to the last one it won’t drop, major BS.

I’m at 10 each for pleather and sheen, so the drop rates seem pretty consistent for me.

I’ve had Bonnie, Bruce, Jerome & Peter all doing their 4 hour tasks repeatedly and am up to 7 pleather but only 4 sheen. & peter’s “cook disgusting vegetables” has not dropped an item once. Shouldn’t those be dropping at around the same odds as the pleather tasks if they’re both “rare”?

Odds yes, but remember they’re still random. So you might get a ton of pleather at once and no sheen & then get all sheen and no pleather. The odds are just at random with when they’ll actually drop.

I’ve had Bonnie, Bruce, Jerome & Peter all doing their 4 hour tasks repeatedly also. I started them all just seconds apart (moments after the update hit), I reassign them ALL, again, just seconds apart. And like you, the “Sheen” appears the “rarer” of the two RARE items (see link below). Now, I deal in logic and quantifiable statistics, but I’m not above a good conspiracy theory once in awhile (if merely to put an evil smile on my face…lol) 😉 LET THE DISCUSSION BEGIN………

Yeah…I have to admit, my “conspiracy theory” flew out the window. All day yesterday and this morning, they were both dropping every 4 hours (Didn’t use a single clam) . Just unlocked the outfit and placed the new stuff in my town. Good job, TinyCo!! (But, I still have my “eye” on you…lol)

Also like to add that on android (not sure if it’s the same on ios and can’t spk for everyone) we was given the privilege of mummies dropping clams every so often..safe to say we have been given it in one hand and it’s been taken away with the other..how can this be fair, surely we need more ways of getting clams so why take it away ? I have told tinyco about this ages ago and they have done nothing about it 😠

I might be alone in this, or I might have a lot of like minded tappers… But I’d much rather see an advertisement here or there, or on a banner, or via a “get 5 clams for watching this” event, than spend my actual cash on clams… And clams seem to always be what makes or breaks the best of the game. From premium characters (I didn’t even know until reading posts here tonight that Chris could do something booty, cash, or XP worthy with the brain damaged horse…) to making sure to unlock a new character’s outfit in time before the end of an event. Having more “free” clams at the expense of advertisers will change the dynamics of the game in more ways than one, to be sure, so be careful what we wish for. However, I’ve spent 40 clams since I started tapping in order to get Pee Pants. Otherwise, not a single clam and I legitimately only have 106 on my way to getting Consuela first, let alone the Braindamaged Horse, or Daggermouth! Maybe this will be a new poll?

also note: so you guys know it IS possible, i already have M.I. & dancing shoes complete & half of the sheen & pleather, just keep trying people, dont give up on pop start cleve!

to anyone saying otherwise, IT IS completely possible to obtain 80’s cleveland & the regular cleveland WITHOUT using clams. just think before you act( some actions pay out better than others and the items may come easier as well) just stick to it and i guarantee you can obtain st elmos within 11 days 🙂

Anyone else having an issue with cleveland dropping shoes every hour? Quagmire drops everytime but three times in a row cleveland hasnt dropped shoes, they are common so i think i may be having an issue…

First time he did the task for me…no shoes. But the second time I got shoes. However, sometimes common items don’t always drop, could just be a random thing again. You may end up getting 5 or 6 in a row now lol

there is just no way to get everything done in time by playing free! …I’m sure that’s their point… but it’s really frustrating. At least with TSTO if you start from the first day & live on the game it’s possible. I don’t feel that way here. Missed clown Peter. Now I’m going to miss this. I still can’t get those &@#% bathtubs to get regular Cleveland!
personally, I’m sick & tired of the rare/epic, etc stuff. I get it. I do. But when it’s down to the wire on getting stuff & I’m not getting it, I don’t know if it’s a glitch & my game isn’t generating the item or if it’s just that rare. I’d rather have to collect 100s of items knowing I could get the item every time rather than get 3 of something but it’s a crap shoot.

All the most recent update has done is ensured the app keeps force closing. Smack bang in the middle of an event. I best not lose the chance of getting my Moonwalking Cleveland.
The rare items seem more rare than the epic items.

I had the same problem, Im on android, Ive cleared the ssaved data on my phone in app settings and it has fixed it, i still cant visit friends though 😦

Update not available to iOS players… yet again. 😦 This makes me appreciate Tapped Out more where updates are within a couple of hours in each platform. I hope I can unlock ’80s Cleveland him in time.

Are you sure it didn’t auto update? The iOS we had got it just fine. Try resetting your device (Just make sure your account is linked to an email or FB).

I opened the App on my Nook HD last night because I was checking my Tapped Out game on my iPad Air. The game kept crashing on my Nook HD and when I tried to access the game on my iPad Air again, it says “update to the latest version” but when I click it it takes me to the App Store but no updates (the last was for June 16). It says “open” app and when I click “open” it takes me to the game and then it says again “update to the latest version.” I tried deleting and reinstalling game but the same thing happens. I can barely play it on my Nook HD because the game kept crashing.

Same issue, I play on both Android and iOS and a game saved with 1.0.13 on Android is not backward compatible and can’t be loaded on my iPad Air until the game is updated. I contacted them and they told me that the iOS update will be available soon, they have submitted it 2-3 days ago.

On a slightly unrelated (not related at all) note, am I the only one missing buildings?
I live having spares of the non descript offices and shops, but today the following are missing from the. Build list

McBurgertowns were shut down from being able to get multiples a while back. You can keep what you have, but can’t get anymore. New players can only have one.
The other 3, I still have in my build lists.

For me, you used to be able to get multiples in the game. They disabled that option for most of the buildings besides the bank, breakfast place and office variants.

I am not worried about butts. My spawn rate is about 2 male mummies per minute, and 1 female mummy on a 3-5 minute rate. I am up to about 70000 butts.

This is happening only on iOS. I play on both Android and iOS and the spawn rate on Android is not like this at all (it was for a day a week ago but TinyCo fixed it). Right now the Android players are at a disadvantage …

I think in all honesty they should. The most expensive package is $69 i would begrudge buying an xbox 1 game for that, it is a lot of money and i feel strongly that games like this with buy in game stuff should give options that you can get extras to keep you going in the game because they have made money from you already. E.G. $2.97 package you get a building or something that gives you a clam every 24 hours ranging upto the most expensive product gives you 5 clams every 24 hours. It is CRAZY that these companies can charge so much for these things and expect you to pay over and over again for them in a game that is constantly expanding!

It’s an issue with the new update. Others are reporting that it’s crashing since the update as well. We’re looking to see if TC has a solution/patch coming soon for it.

I have a feeling the pleather is going to be the bottleneck on this one. I’m already over half way to claiming all of the shoes, but the pleather and sheen will take some time. I’ve been tight with my idol spending, so I’ve got plenty of that. Here’s hoping Peter, Jerome, Bruce, and Bonnie earn those items quickly!

tHIS IS THE WORST. 12 days left and we have ANOTHER Clevland to unlock. We still don’t know what the last two prize are going to cost, but they expect us to take up characters time that could be better spent generating idols, for Thriller Cleveland. (We have no idea of what his benifits are either!!!) Shouldn’t this be part of some 80s update?? If you spent clams on the coffins and got the dance floor you must feel really discouraged now. You could easily spend 400 clams and get all three items, instead of taking your chances on 3 taps of the stewie coffin. I am done with this game.

I suppose it depends on what your priorities are. I, for one, am primarily focused on freeing up all of Quahog(up to date at this point), unlocking all characters and costumes, and only after that building the other features of the town that I find interesting. So, personally, I’m happy to devote everyone’s resources that can help to unlock this costume to it until it is finished. I didn’t have to alter anything with Cleveland at all (I’m sending him on hourly tasks anyway) and I went ahead and sent Chris on a dangling Brain Damaged Horse task while Q was mixing drinks. By tomorrow they’ll be back to fighting and I can just focus on the two remaining items. It’s not so bad.

Yeah, it’s pretty annoying that they broke up the best combos for this outfit. I want it because it’s better than the other stuff. Already came to terms with probably not getting to even 50k butts by the end. That’s with all of the premium characters working constantly. They need to calm down on the forced spending. You get too greedy, i quit spending. Makes the game not fun. At this point i don’t even care what pointless useless decoration that will sit in the middle of nowhere doing nothing comes up next.
