Hello There Clammers!
Looks like we got another in-game update that hit our devices today. Similar to that of unlocking Cleveland…3 new premium buildings to help you unlock 80’s Cleveland faster.
Razzle Dazzle– 75 Clams. 2 x 2 Earns
and $10/5xp every 2hrs.
Fast Fresh- 150 Clams. 2 x 2 Earns 
and $45/ 30xp every 8hrs.
Budget Badass– 150 Clams. 2 x 2. Earns 
and $30/20xp every 4hrs.
All things designed to help you earn 80s Cleveland faster. OR you can just keep doing the tasks that will earn him for you (check out this post for the break down) OR you can also just outright unlock him for somewhere around 490 clams (if you have all the booty already). And that number drops with each item you earn from doing tasks.

How much is the last prize? In the files? I got bored after getting Cleveland only have 21,000. None of the prizes appealed to me to motivate me to check into my game more regularly (I only really have time to play every 8 hrs anyway).

I…just…don’t… have… the energy to rant anymore. I can’t help but shout “you were the chosen one!” In an obi wan manner towards TinyCo. When the game was released it was so exciting, an opportunity to fight EA (if youre into that). Even had tinyco staff commenting on blogs etc, dont see that much anymore?
This event has been a horrible money grab. For this limited time content they want a minimum of 2120 clams. Youre looking at £45 plus for some items that are just random out of place decorations. And to be honest apart from the odd little joke there isn’t even a proper storyline. The whole event has been so disjointed. So disjointed that you cant plan your clam purchases ahead, for instance myself. Ive bought smaller clam packages rather than the more economical bigger ones.
I have 2 of the large magma shrines, plus the smaller ones. Do surf the bird and economical tasks. Yet I still feel like im struggling to get to the very last prize. Thats just ridiculous. I thought It couldnt get worse than tsto easter,,,
EA have blew tinyco away with the stonecutters event. Theyve missed their opportunity for the casual player now, theyll mostly return to TSTO. I can only assume tinyco are targeting people like myself who buy everything without question, and are happy with the profit they get from that. So much for this game being about the casual gamer. I wanted to buy everything, but theres only so much you can take before you realise what a rip off it all is. Up until the stewie and brian money grab, i had bought every item, i wont be spending anymore money on clams. They could have had a reasonable revenue stream off me but instead tried to extort me, for the money they want you can get AAA console games.
Lastly, id like to apologise to you guys for being so negative again. I come here and to the TSTO site everyday and appreciate the work you do. Apologies for my first few posts for being so negative!

I play daily, but I feel like I am tapping with no real purpose. The game right now is lacking any real depth and coherent story-line. As others, and yourself have said, right now EA with the Stonecutters update for Simpsons Tapped is miles ahead in story-line and play-ability and overall fun. I also feel that Family Guy Quest for Stuff is doing everything possible to make players either spend down clams or spend real money. It’s just incredibly frustrating to send characters on 4 hour, or longer, quests in hopes of having them generate much needed items to unlock certain characters and to see nothing generate because those items are “rare”. I just hope they strike a great balance soon.

Unfortunately without the glitch of the mummies spawning at an incredible rate (7000-10,000 butts a day) I will have little over 80,000 idols most likely never to get the final prize which make me infuriated and sad.

I just got an in-game pop-up (hyphens are fun!) with King Butt. He said to keep playing to find out why they call him that (and he claims it’s not because he munches butts). I’m guessing he’s the original character for the last prize?

I have an iOS update for the game that says various bug fixes? I’m afraid to download it because I’m afraid it’s gonna reduce the drop rate to try to push me to buy those silly window display “buildings”. Or it may reduce my tea pawn rate only mummy’s. Has anyone else already completed this latest iOS download? Any changes that you can see so far good or bad?

I would ride it til it forces it and collect as many butts as you possibly can to be honest. Other than that, if you have glitch issues…the updates may patch them.

I just got another iOS apple store update for “minor bug fixes” and now the mummies don’t spawn every 30 secs or so while I stay in my town, it appears it went back to before when they only show up once you log back in. Anyone else experiencing this?

Do you have to have Cleveland to get these materials from the buildings?

They usually don’t create a needed item unless a character or skin is in play to trigger it. I assume you need him, but can look into it more.

Hmm I’m playing on an iPad mini with iOS 6 I believe and not experiencing any problems like you guys . Lucky me I guess.

I feel like my drop rate has decreased since this update. I was getting the “rare” items every couple times someone would finished their task. Since the update Ive only gotten 1 item doing the task constantly/consistently. Anyone else noticing this ?

I just got a new prize! Apparently I had enough moon idols to get a guriella nursing a cat. The last one is an original character? Anyone know how many idols that requires?

Getting a bit predictable now – a limited time costume/character is released, they let you play a bit and get angry at characters not dropping coveted items; and only after that they release a building/decoration that is guaranteed to drop your item every time. For clams, of course.
Sorry for the rant, but the longer I play, the less fun this game becomes. Not quite ready to give up, but it won’t take much more…

Hi guys, I love this blog. It always has great info. I have a question I hope someone can answer. I am on iOS and still haven’t done the latest update, but I’m already working on unlocking Cleveland and continuing to collect booty. My question is, if I update, is there any benefit besides the sarcophogus that I really have no interest in? I’ve noticed others commenting about the spawn rate of mummies and I’m unsure if it is better or worse with the update (or no change at all?) Just trying to figure out if there is really any benefit to me updating before I’m eventually forced to. Thanks for any input! Have a great weekend everyone 🙂

I am now utterly confused!?! These three items are absolutely ridicules. You list them as “buildings”! REALLY, this is now what you pass off as a building!?! At best, they are “decorations”, but where to use them in my town is beyond me. LOL….I fully understand the responsibility of a company to make a profit for it’s employees and investors, but this incessant pattern of slapping a clam tag on EVERY new item is not a sustainable business model.

Meh, I’ll take a pass. They look cool but at the same time would look out of place in my Quahog – they look more like interiors and not something that should be standing out in the open. Plus I know I’ll be able to unlock 80s Cleveland before the event ends, as long as TinyCo doesn’t change decrease the drop rates, cause I have all of the shoes and 5/15 of both the shine and pleather.
Also, I agree with the poster who said that unlocking characters is becoming tedious, which makes the game somewhat of a chore but it sure does feel pretty good when you finally get it!

The balance is still wrong. Why couldn’t these have been coins and sometimes drops rather than always. All I’m doing with money is buying land. My one worker is getting bored. I want some buildings I can buy with coin or event currency. Too many decorations is awful. See valentines or easter updates from tsto. So much in this is useless after you buy it.

Does anyone else get the feeling like TC is closing the faucet on the frequency that items drop in order to make spending clams on items more enticing? I for one would rather not get the item if the only way to get it is to pay for it. Unless it is an item that is designed to be purchased with clams, I’m of the opinion that it should be reasonably possible to obtain if you play the game regularly. If I end up not getting this outfit by the end of this even because the drop rates are wound too tight, I’ll be very disappointed in TC. I don’t think that will happen, though. I predict that rates will stay tight until there’s maybe a week or less left in the event and then they will relax the rates back to how they were when they first introduced the outfit. That way they can collect the money from the people who cave in and buy the items and still give people a chance to collect it through freemium means. We’ll see how it plays out.

I had to buy the stuff to unlock Adventure Peter and Cleveland faster, because I send the characters to due their task and I wasn’t getting anything in return. Now this time I have about 5 items each left to get the hair gel and jacket task. Unless with this new update, the items stop producing often and it almost going to make me buy these new products, which I don’t want to.
I just wish I can get one more red eye ball and a ninja bandana, to unlock Anime Peter. It been over a week I haven’t got anything anymore, I don’t want to spend any money to buy Anime Peter.

I am inclined to agree…the process of unlocking characters is now just tedious. I have lost track of how many times I have sent Peter out soliciting for clients with absolutely zero return, hence I am still waiting to get s&m lois….I am still working through the first Cleveland, let alone 80’s…and I have quests stacking up which I can’t commit characters to because I need them to unlock items. I am really not enjoying this now…..and by comparison, TSTO has delivered a far more interesting and enjoyable gameplay with the last two updates. I buy donuts in TSTO because it enhances a game I could play free…..Family Guy is starting to feel more and more like a chore….

I can definitely understand why people don’t want to spend clams on these types of items (as with unlocking Cleveland and Adventure Peter). Personally, I bought all 3, along with the 3 for Cleveland, and the 3 for Adventure Peter. Something about this dang game and not being able to not buy something. TinyCo has me in their back pocket and I’m doomed.
Can’t wait to see what the usual Friday night update brings! They’ve teased some exciting stuff!

I’m already at the point where unlocking 80s Cleveland is less clams than these buildings cost all together. I may get one if I happen to really need the particular item it drops, lol. I’d like to see how they actually look in the town, that could possibly sway me…

I’m about 2 seconds from giving up on this game all together. I really love the animations and storyline, but with every new building being for clams, and then not DOING anything afterwards, it’s very disheartening. Has there been a single thing you can buy with in-game cash in the last few updates? Even if you just scroll through the build menu, you have ugly square buildings you can buy with coins, and pretty, colorful buildings you can buy with clams. I try not to complain because the game IS, at base, free, but this is kinda starting to feel like they are rubbing our faces in clams.
