Where the Hell?!: Royal Cat Statue

The release of the Kingdom of the Full Moon has brought us a plethora of prizes in which to win. The “last place” prize of the event is that of the “royal cat statue.” What is it? Where did it come from? Where is it in the show? The answers to all of that and more coming up…

Season 11 Episode 5: “Joe’s Revenge”

One thing intriguing about the statue is that it is not in the show. However, the cat perched on the blue pillow seems to resemble Quagmire’s cat Principessa. In this episode the person who paralyzed Joe, Bobby Briggs, is apprehended by authorities. Unfortunately, Briggs escapes custody and it is up to Peter, Joe, and Quagmire to capture him. Before they leave to go find Briggs, Quagmire gives Lois specific instructions to take care of Principessa to the point of obnoxiousness. While Principessa stays with the family she gets a lot of attention. However, Brian does not really like the cat staying with them. Perhaps it’s because Brian cannot get away with this.

Season 11 Episode 18: “Total Recall”

Principessa in this appearance is involved in a title card, which parodies the “Modern Family” title card (“Modern Family” is a TV sitcom). Can you spot Principessa?

Season 11 Episode 22: “Roads to Vegas”

In this episode Brian wins tickets to a Celine Dion concert, which is in Las Vegas. Brian, who won two tickets, decides to take Stewie with him. While getting ready to go to the airport, Stewie suggests to take them both to Vegas via teleportation device. When the device is used it supposedly “did not work.” The device actually made another Stewie and Brian arrive in Vegas, while another got left in Quahog to go to the airport. The pair in Vegas become very lucky and win a lot money, while the other pair is the opposite. After having lost most of their money, not-so-lucky Brian and Stewie loan from a loan shark. That money is then used to bet on a college basketball game. In a “viewing room” where all the games are shown, both pairs sit next to each other back to back (both pairs still unaware of each other’s existence). After not-so-lucky Brian and Stewie lose again, they decide to go back to their hotel room. Since both pairs sit next to each other Stewie (not lucky) grabs the other Stewie’s backpack full of money. Once lucky Stewie realizes it feels empty, he asks Brian why the backpack feels lighter. It turns out that Brian used some money to hire a hit man. This hit man is then sent to get rid of someone Brian hates: Principessa. Unfortunately Principessa is assassinated, hence her final appearance.

Not only does the royal cat statue look like Principessa, but Principessa’s heritage seems to fit in well with the statue. Principessa is a Persian pure-bread cat that can be linked to Cleopatra’s cats (according to Quagmire). Cleoplatra was a pharaoh of Egypt, which was a place that treated cats as the top animal species. It only seems fair to say that the royal cat statue seems to look most like Principessa.

Do you like your cat statue?  Find a good place to put it? What do you think of this 24-carat masterpiece?

Until next time,

Zack
