As the Kingdom of the Full Moon event winds down & new content keeps getting added, we want to know YOUR thoughts about all the premium building as well as share the results of the Sarcophagus Poll.
First the new stuff….this week we want to know what YOU think about all the new premium buildings with the guaranteed drop rates (like Ricky Cantina’s, Chaste Camel, Razzle Dazzle & the Bazaars & shacks) to help you unlock characters/costumes faster:

Wow, this one wasn’t even close! As I suspected many of you would be happy with them if they used idols instead of clams. It’s that premium aspect many Clammers are not happy with!

All in all it looks like you guys would have loved the idea if it cost idols instead of clams. Or you guys just really hated the concept of the boxes. Either way you definitely had a strong opinion!
What are your thoughts on all the premium buildings? Do you like how they provide some benefit for the clams spent? How about on the Sarcophagus? Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

do we have to use all the booty statues before the event ends? or can we still buy things with the booty after the event ends, but we just can’t earn any more?

More than likely it’ll all disappear once the event ends (option to buy, if they’re in your town they’re yours). So spend them just before the event ends if there is anything catching your eye 🙂

I think a good idea for the sarcophagus could have been Stewie’s case being a royal case and costing clams, as is, but the player is going to get a special, premium item, you just don’t know which. (EX: Badonk statue, 500 clams, DJ Booth, a ridicks. amt. of clams, or some other type of premium item similar to the Badonk’s benefits.) Then, you could of used Brian’s as the cryptic and made people pay their money, or booty for smaller prizes more equal, or even less (as a penalty for the chance) to the amount paid. No one should have to gamble their hard earned clams away. They should always get something in return for using clams, but the money and booty can easily be made back, therefore, you don’t always have to reward people when they spend it on these types of chances.

Hmmmm, new quest if up to build a fancy throne for king butt (finally something that uses my workers!) but the game crashes every time I try to place it. The coin and xp rates are blank on the info screen for it…hopefully it’ll be updated and fixed soon? The king butt flags are cool and work just fine!

Is a anyone else at a stand still for new tasks? I just finished up all of the 80s Cleveland tasks and now the only thing in my task book is “collect more moon idols!” And the $4.99 deal.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the prizes and the items for purchase with booty are just kinda blah? Nothing offered to purchase with booty is really worth having and doesn’t really mix well with my little Quahog. And I personally think all the prizes are just lame. After the even I do to see myself keeping any of it in my town besides the museum And that’s the only thing we got to buy with coins. If the last prize would be a really cool charactor actually from the show it would make it all worth it for me, but king booty? Really!? When there’s so many cool charactors from the show it could be why would they make one up? What about Cleveland’s family? Gillian? Peters boss lady from the brewery? The new news girl? Or even Ollie as a character? There’s tons of others even that would be sooo much better and make it worth the work I’ve put into earning all the booty! I’m almost to 80000 and won’t let up til I reach 100000 just in case. And btw I did it without buying any premium event buildings or sarcophagus. My hard earned clams go for premium charactors or buildings that actually will work in my city.

Hmm, my answer to the new question isn’t really reflected in the options. I totally understand why shortcuts cost clams. That makes sense. That’s what premium players should typically be buying with their money. To have them cost coins or idols would somewhat defeat the point. You can already earn the costume/character for free. You’re only paying money if you want it faster.
I’m sure someone will argue that they might not get the costume/character in time. It’s certainly possible. But it’s far more cost effective not to purchase any buildings and to keep plugging away at earning items for free. Then, if you still don’t have the costume/character as the end of the event nears, just outright buy them. I can practically guarantee that it will be cheaper to do it this way than to buy these guaranteed item drops.
And that’s really the problem. I think these items should absolutely cost clams. But they shouldn’t cost 150 clams. I’d price them somewhere between 50-80 depending on the rarity of the item being dropped. So my answer to the question would be:
‘I love the idea of the guaranteed drop rate, but wish they cost less clams’

Hey sorry this has nothing to do with this blog post but i was just wondering…i have about 23,000 spending idols left after purchasing all the inexpensive things. I have the monkey statue, so was wondering if you think i should get the lotus pond or the desert oasis? The cheaper one gives more per hour but i dont know which one is better based on when they drop the cash…

I’d hold off until the last day of the event & see what else comes out. Lotus Pond earns $60, 40xp/ 12hrs. Oasis earns $30, 20xp/ 4hrs. So Oasis is the better earner ($90/12hrs)…but I’d still hold off until the very last day, just in case.

I need something to spend my booty on, bought enough lava to fill most of the land… Less than 7 days, maybe will get a huge random spaceship or something to spend it on. 2 journals left, spaceship for the heck of it tinyco… Maybe race car theme to end the game haha…

I was just wondering if you will be doing a poll to find out what prize everyone reached? I’m just curious to find out what other people were able to unlock and just because I love the polls that you guys do. I’m a big poll geek 🙂

Lol me too! And yes. I plan on doing an Easter like poll that we did over on TSTO next week. Want to get closer to the end point, before we take the results. But yes…lots of data, lots of details! 🙂

It was difficult for me to answer the questions of this new poll because I feel the three new “buildings”….Fast Fresh, Razzle Dazzle, & Budget Badass….need a poll question of their own. I selected option #2 “I love the idea of the guaranteed drop rate, but hate that they ALL cost clams”. I ALSO could of selected option #3 “Can’t stand them!” in reference to these particular items (I’ve now seen them in a few towns, and they look ridicules no matter how the player has tried to incorporate them).
In regards to question #2, I don’t have a problem if MOST premium “assist” buildings cost clams (TinyCo is running a business first and foremost after all) but, the fact that they never offer even one to the Freemium players is beyond logic and good business sense. Freemiums BECOME Premiums when they feel that they too are considered a valued asset to a company. They will feel a desire to “give back”, as a reward, for being given to.
I know the game is “free” and TinyCo owes nothing to anyone, but I guess my opinions come from the fact that I’m an older, seasoned vet when it comes to gaming. I had all the “free” computer games that came out on 5 1/4 inch floppy disks (played them on a computer I assembled myself running on DOS then later Windows 3.1). Most of them had “incentives” built in to get players to invest real money to unlock new levels or better items. I’ve seen companies come and go based solely on how they engage the average gamer. I like TinyCo. I see them trying to improve their product, but I also see many mistakes and missed opportunities. I hope they get the balance correct soon. The tone of the comments posted on this site and throughout the internet is increasingly turning sour. I’d hate to see TinyCo fail when they have such a potentially fantastic product in their hands.

Cybersilly, but without free players for at time buy stuff. They do owe everyone of them players something!! With the crazy and at times unpawning mummies. I feel this is a game that caters to hacking, which yes has it’s own place in any game worth it salt. Yes, I said it hacking is a badge of honor for a company. They know they made it when they did.. But don’t cater to them, while frustrating your huge free players. Free players spend money, hack/mods don’t.
On another topic cyber silly, remember the code books we could get. Program our own games. Yes for the younger folks, they used to sell program codes in mags to program yourself. But those computer has less 1/2000, than your smart phone ;). But they were the days.

The thing is if you only had to spend clams to speed it up it would not be too bad. But I had to spend 150 clams because nothing was dropping for me at all.
I finally finish that section just to get to the next to find I’m not getting items dropping again. I refuse to spend any more money on clams. Just So I can just get stuck on the next section.

66% would enjoy it if it didn’t cost real money? I don’t buy that number considering the outright hate of the Easter Boxes in TSTO – basically the same concept…

It shocked me too but that’s where the numbers sat. I can send you the same screenshot of the results that I send TinyCo if you’d like. I think the difference is in TSTO the boxes were required to get prizes. Here these boxes are extra…since the prizes come from booty collecting. So if these cost booty and earn more booty or clams & some limited time prizes i think people would be more willing to try them.

I agree…struck me as odd too. But I think it has more to do with what’s inside than anything. That and how short of a memory some players have 😉

I see it pretty much like Alissa – these “boxes” are not essential to furthering the rest of the game, you can still win the normal prizes without ever touching them. And it is something to do with all the booty you collect. The stuff you can buy for booty is not that overwhelming.
