Hello There Clammers!
Some signs of life in Quahog once again…as King Butt as made his grand entrance! Time time it looks like TinyCo took a page right out of my college days after one too many Jelly-yo shots in Key West!
Let’s break down the new fun shall we?! #warningitslong #donteverdoatrayofredjelloshots
So after you’ve build King Butt’s Fancy Throne…so you can me him pray to the porcelain God…it’s time to defeat King Butt! The Throne is what makes him appear in Quahog.
Here’s how you defeat this party animal….get him drunk off his royal keister!
Basically you earn “STUFF” to defeat him…except in this case the “STUFF” is Jelly-yo Shots! Here’s how you earn those:
Basically complete tasks for various characters to have the shots drop. THREE characters have tasks that will earn shots (if you found more let me know): Peter (Adventure Peter too), Quagmire & Cleveland. Each of their four hour tasks is guaranteed to drop a shot. Which is AWESOME! However….you don’t know what color you’ll get, but we’ll get to that in a minute. The cool thing is you can start the tasks BEFORE the Throne is complete. So even if you’re still waiting for it, get Peter, Quagmire & Cleveland doing those 4hr tasks to earn you some shots!
You’ll also notice that it says you can get them from buildings. As of writing this they are not currently in the game. HOWEVER, TinyCo will most likely (as we’ve seen in the past) be adding buildings (stalls & shacks) that will drop various color Shots each time. So keep that in mind going forward…also keep in mind they’ll most likely be premium.
So now let’s get to the various shot colors. There are three total shot colors…
The characters will each drop ALL THREE colors, just at various times. So you’ll always get a shot…but you won’t always know what shot you’ll get.
Ok so now that you have the what and how part down…let’s talk game play. You will be tasked each day with getting a certain number of Jelly-yo shots to defeat King Butt. You’ll have 24 hours to complete each task.
It will take two tasks to defeat King Butt. After that you’ll just earn bonus idols each time. The point is to keep going and collect everything in order before time runs out. The longer you keep the streak going the more idols you’ll earn (This will help you unlock the rest of the items!) .
Here’s the good news….if you get a different color shot than what you need it will be saved into the shot bank and can be used for a different task. In other words…if you need 3 blue shots and get purple and red on the way to getting the blue, the purple and red shots will stay in your materials bank and count towards the next task.
Here’s how the tasks broke out for me in my game. In order:
3 Blue Shots (1st one after unlocking the throne)
8 Red Shots
14 Blue Shots (as you can see here it was done for me since I had 17 built up from the previous attempts)
25 Blue shots
40 Purple shots
Now remember…this is how they appeared in MY game. They may (and more than likely do) vary from game to game. So don’t assume this is what you’ll get.
Each time you complete a task King Butt will pray to the porcelain God and be back in your Quahog about a minute (or just under) later:
When he reappears you’ll get a new assignment of Shots to acquire to send him away again and unlock more idols! The good news is…each time you send him away your 24hr clock will reset. So you have 24 hours to complete each shot task!
The point of this all is to keep a streak going, and collect all of the requested shots within the 24 hr period. If you do you’ll continue to earn idols at the highest level. But if you don’t the counter will reset and you’ll have to start the streak all over again! (note: tasks will still come up even if your bar is full. You want it full, as that’s how you’ll earn more idols!)
Now as far as the questline goes. It’s a short 3 part questline that involves building the throne and defeating King Butt. Once you’ve defeated him (on the second shot collection) you’ll see this pop up:
As you can see King Butt will be the final prize of the event, and will cost a whopping 100,000 moon Idols. So collect ALL you can from the shot collection!
So to sum it all up:
-Quagmire, Cleveland & Peter (Adventure Peter too) ALL have a 4hr task that will earn you Jelly-yo shots
-Jelly-yo shots come in three different colors. They’re guaranteed to drop, but the color will vary.
-Use the shots to defeat King Butt. Collect what he requests and you’ll earn more idols!
-TinyCo will more than likely be releasing buildings that will drop shots (these will guarantee the color)
-You have 24hrs to complete each shot collection task. The clock WILL reset after you complete each one.
-Shots will bank for you if a color drops that you don’t need. It can be used for a future Shot request.
-King Butt is the final prize & will cost 100,000 Idols.
-Be careful how many Jelly-yo shots you do. They may taste good going down..but yea.

This is REALLY disappointing for those who don’t cash. As other people have mentioned, it looks like it takes 90 shots to max the meter, and given the 7 day period, we’ll only get 126 shots at MOST (adding the extra day for today, some people missed that). Not counting the idea that we might not get the right colors, if it takes more than 36 to “repeat” the highest meter to keep getting the 7500 idols, then it’s literally not possible for non-cashers to reach the 100,000 idol mark.
Do the math… 7500+3750+1500+300+150 = 13200 from this part of the event. That’s literally the BEST we can do without cashing at this point. The rest of the month seems to have given me ~30,000 idols up to today, with a max of 2,000 per day from other sources (lowered now since I can’t use Peter/Quagmire/Cleveland efficiently), so for the next 7 days I can get another 14,000. So IN TOTAL, I should end this event with 13200+30000+14000, which ONLY gets me 57,200.
So EVEN if my numbers are off by a margin of 40,000, which I highly doubt any non-casher is over that range, it STILL is not enough to get the highest prize. Even if you manage to somehow complete the 50x prize again after the original 90, you’re still over 30,000 short. This is really, really sad. It’s not like we aren’t playing enough, it’s that there’s no way. They aren’t rewarding the cashers for paying money, they are punishing the non-cashers for not doing so. I was really avoiding the attitude on bashing them, knowing that there’d be SOME event to help boost the idols, but this isn’t NEARLY enough.
If they want to fix this, they need to reduce the amount of shots required DRAMATICALLY. We need to be able to reach 50x and complete it a total of SIX more times in order to have even the slightest chance. It doesn’t look like there are any more events coming, so… if nothing changes, this was a month of hope and premium content literally wasted to anyone who didn’t cash. That’s enough to drive any player away. They really need to reconsider this event.

The new tasks for the shots just launched. We don’t know what the next few days will bring. We saw the butt output increase, the shot output may too. We just don’t know yet. So hang in there and just have fun with it.
In the meantime voice any and all concerns about game play with TinyCo. They definitely have been listening to player feedback, so you never know what the next few days may bring.

Now we do though. 120 Clams for each Sarcophagus, or over $30 worth to get guaranteed results. I’ll stick with it, but… I’m no longer hopeful at all. They’d need to increase base Idol drop rates by 10x for non-cashers to have a chance, or as I mentioned they could reduce the number or Shots required. But since both of these have cash alternatives, I don’t think either is likely.
Ultimately… I don’t think they know how to run F2P systems. It’s so obvious they are trying to milk money out of it, but they are ignoring that by withholding the desirable rewards from non-cashers, they WILL drive the population away. Event rewards should go to those who earned it by reorganizing sleep schedules, opening the App every hour, and strategizing their character’s actions. That should be available to everyone. The cash options should be a shortcut or a backup plan, absolutely NOT a requirement. That’s what I meant by them “punishing” non-cashers: we’re putting everything effort possible into this and still getting nothing unless we pay.
I’ll stay for a while more and forward these complaints… but again, not feeling too hopeful. Thanks for the response though ^^; I’m amazed at how dedicated y’all are.

Remember guys, having spent butts on decorations won’t hurt your chances to get him. He’s like the statues, you need a SCORE of 100K, not 100K banked. The number to look for is in the bottom right while playing, not up by the dollars and clams.
Also, people really need to quit whining about not being able to get everything without spending money. There are programmers who are writing the code and there are tech support people working on issues. These people don’t work for free. It takes money to keep power running to servers and buying the hardware. If you can get everything without spending any real money, very few people are going to be spending money, and without people spending money, there wouldn’t be a game for us to play.
We all have choices to make. If you want everything it’ll cost money. If you don’t want to spend money, enjoy playing the game and get as much as you can in the time allowed.

Let’s not forget that the x50 multiplier is pretty huge. Let’s say you’ve currently got ~40,000 idols and will need ~60,000 more to get all the prizes.
With the x50 multiplier, you only need to get a measly 1200 more idols to reach the top. That’s a HUGE multiplier. Characters go from earning 10 idols an hour to earning 500. It’ll take a few days to get there but it’s well within the realms of possibility, especially if you’ve been playing along so far and haven’t decided to give up because you think it’s impossible.
Good luck to everyone aiming for that 100,000. I made it there myself earlier today.

Ugh, wait. I may have misunderstood things. Does the multiplier only apply to the idols earned by defeating King Butt? Or is it a universal idol multiplier?
I thought it was the latter but I might be wrong… Now I feel like an idiot.
Never mind, resume your complaining people.
I think my way of doing it would be much better, even if they lowered the multipliers. Maybe x2, x5, x10, x15 and x25. Oh well.

I work in software development and I agree to a point. That said, setting an expectation that people put more money in than you would spend in a ps4 game that developers spent years making is silly. People spend 5-20 bucks on mobile games and then they are tapped out. Expecting much more to keep the game going is just encouraging people to lose interest.

Oh yeah…that is the mantra of the premium players: “If you don’t want to spend money, you don’t have the right to get all the prices. So stop all of your whining.” Well I’ve spent 23 Euros on this game and have earned 39000 butts so far. Nowhere close to earning all the prices. Spending money on this game does not help you. Only spending an insane amount of money gets you everything. Well I’m sorry, the game is not worth that amount of money. I have been happily playing TSTO without spending a dime and without missing out on the non-premium event stuff (except easter). I won’t spend any more money on this game. It’s not worth it.

If this is going to be a thing where you need to spend clams to earn a character, i doubt ill keep playing very long. Been ruining my sleep the last 30 days just so i can get an optimal amount of idols without cheating, if it turns out we cant get everything unless we buy clams… myeah i dont like pay to win.

Good thing it’s not pay to win then, eh? Peter, Quagmire and Cleveland are all FREE characters that earn shots for you. Down the line, you might (and, while likely, it isn’t certain) be able to PAY for buildings to do the same.
All this stuff does is help boost your multiplier and help you earn more idols. You don’t have to pay to get the character. You just have to play.

I found a new event item in the store called “King Butt Flag” although it isn’t showing up in the event section of the store but just the deco section. It costs 50 butts. Not anything special I just figured people may miss the chance at getting it.

I like that there is some new content being added but I don’t love it. I feel like unless you use clams to speed up Cleveland, Joe and Peter’s actions or get the buildings that are guaranteed to drop the shots it will be nearly impossible for some players to reach 100,000 moon idols to unlock King Butt. I’m currently at 38,000 total idols so I’m doubtful. It’d be nice to have him to make my game more complete, but at the same time I’m not really interested. I’m just gonna try to earn as many moon idols as possible so I can buy all of the non-clam event decorations.

The multipliers will really help. You need 42,000 idols at this point. Let’s say you only get two levels of the multiplier (x10). That means you only need to earn another 4,200 idols. If you make it to the next multiplier level (x25), things become even easier. That’s just 1680 idols. The multipliers will help players catch up MASSIVELY.

I think it would be nice if the buildings to drop shots costed coins or idols insyead of clams, do think this will happen? Or will they continue to rob us of our clams?

Do you think saving up shots and doing one big run would be more beneficial than turning in shots as you get them? You know to try and get the most out of a streak? Hope that made sense.

A Good strategy would be on the first one build up as many as you can before turning them in. Since you’ll need a small amount you should get them quick, it’s a good way to take the most advantage of the clock. 🙂

It seems as if FGTQFS is having a loading/log-in issue! (the lovely yellow scroll bar on IOS has been churning for sometime now 😦 .. I’ve even restarted and re-booted [but] alas – still the same. I was able to “BUT-IT-UP” and I now have KING BUTT and (tons of butts and coins) but I can’t seem to log back in!?!?!?! (any suggestions)? – thank you for ALWAYS being so awesome!!!

I HAD Sphinx Stewie but I long pressed the screen & he disappeared. How do I get him back? I love the show & Seth has a brilliant mind. I love all his show & can’t wait 2 C the western movie he’s in. I love this game, I’m addicted. I never understood the appeal 2 Farmville or any like it til I started building Quahog. Keep up the good work.

While this sounds nice and all, you’re never going to get the 50x multiplier to pay out without spending clams. 3 characters doing 4 hour tasks for shots will get you 18 shots a day. There’s 6 days left on the event, so that’s 108 shots. You have to give King Butt sets of 3, 8, 14, 25, and 40 to get your first 50x multiplier to pay out. That’s 90 shots of specific colors. You’re only getting 108 chances (and that’s only if you stop sleeping for more than 4 hours at a time, fun!) to get those 90 in the right distribution. I don’t like those odds.
I’m sure TinyCo will help you out with those shots, for some clams. That’s their answer to everything.
Just like a lot of other aspects of this event, it’s a fun idea, but the goals are completely unrealistic.

100,000 !!!!! my god that is a lot of butts. LOL 🙂 !! I am only at 32,000 butts. more butts then I will ever see in my life time let alone 100,000. I do not think I will make it to 100k butts. however in TSTO I have completed both my game A and B stone cutter towns and am just waiting for the final prize at the end of the prophecy scrolls.

I’m confused how the rewards are given. Is it 150 idols per shot completed times the multiplier? For example, if it required 25 shots–do I get 150 idols x 25 shots x the multiplier?

I didn’t get a throne, last night it was building and now when it’s supposed to be finished building, all I got is a blank square in the ground 😦
Only three tabs are showing in the pyramid event, the rest are randomly missing including the story progress tab.
This game Is reaching all new hights of Suckall over again!

Yup, iOS, and right after posting here, but after sending an in game message to tech support, I clicked in the empty foundation one last time, and the throne appeared and so did the quest, as did the progress tab when you click on the pyramid, still some tabs missing though.

Strangely enough I had the exact same issue on Android. It seems the tick to show the building is complete does not appear for the throne. I didn’t think it had finished building, and tapped it by accident and there it was!
On the whole I’m not sure what to make of King Butt… Not sure I’m impressed. Aaaand… STILL waiting for the last eyeball.

I’m going to try it but the only argument I can for see I’ll have is this and correct me if my math is wrong. But the final task was asking you to acquire 40 of a certain color. In order to get 40 shots, that takes 160 hours. Which is about 6.5 days, almost a week. But with three guys acquiring them at once it’s more like 2 and third. Basically, what I’m getting at is, if the game don’t do some heavy working in your favor (EX: Dropping heavy shot in the color your going to need for the future.) then this is an almost an impossible feat. to accomplish, once again, without spending money on some type of help. But I’ll give it a go. Seems fun!

Would I be better off collecting as many shots as I can and then not giving them to king butt until the last day when I have a bunch saved up and I can get a good streak going. Like, just using all of my shots on one day, not once I immediately have what the king wants? That way I won’t get stuck waiting for a certain kind of shot and risking my timer running out and resetting at the three mark and having to work my way back up again. Just a thought.

That’s not a bad strategy. I wouldn’t go to the last day though. Maybe start on Saturday…this way you can earn as much as possible. If you wait till the last day you’re limited on how many you can zip through.

I didn’t get to the offer until maybe midnight? So I started building and we will see how it goes…I’ve earned the part pyramid and figured in 6 days it was mathematically impossible to earn anything else before the event ends, so maybe this will help me, since I did the sarcophagus, and got clams to spend on another sarcophagus….which gave me butts.
Hopefully the king will bring tons o butts to my town. I’m glad my mummy spawn rate is back up to tons when I open my game! I love when they come flooding out!

Did you create an account for your game? If so then uninstall and reinstall your game and that should help you.

have an facebook account, I tried more than 10 times to uninstell and reinstall the game but when I connect the facebook account, it keeps saying the same message , I tried to contact but nothing, sorry to bother.

I just clicked on the game to find myself presented with the opening cutscene and an empty town. I deleted the game and reinstalled it which did nothing to fix the problem. I had made an account, but I’m not sure if saves are connected to accounts like Tapped Out, and I’m not even at the point in the beginning of the game where you can make an account/connect with fb people so I can’t check. Has anyone else had this problem?

Do you think there might be some validity to the strategy of saving up as many shots as you can and then splurging on the idols at the end? It seems like that would be the way to go, since all of the shots bank, anyway. Don’t even worry about colors or anything until you’re ready to spend. Does this make sense to anyone else?

Strategy wise doesn’t it make the most sense to push the first few to the end of their timer before turning in? Then you have more shots banked for the next tiers since the max you can earn in 24 hrs is 18, and the colors are random.

Do you always get 1 shot for each 4 hour task? With three characters on 4 hour tasks that would be 18 shots max you could get within 24 hours. How on earth is it possible to get 40 shots of the SAME colour within 24 hours?

Will it be be worth stock piling loads of jelly and hitting it multiple times in a row rather than periodically? By the time it gets to 40 of a sort in 24 hours that seems like a big ask when most can probably get 15 shots in that time. Unless the stalls cost butts but that’s unlikely.

Just to be straight, if I don’t complete the task in 24 hours does he disappear forever or just the progress gets reset to step 1? Sounds like it’s just a step reset.
If it’s just a step reset then the strategy to get the most idols would be to save them all up until the last day he is available. This will ensure you can keep your top tier win streak going for the longest possible.
The only risk would be if they don’t tell us when his last day is and you miss it.

@marc, I don’t believe you need to have 100000 on hand to “buy” him. It wouldn’t matter if you used your idols to buy decorations. I believe you just need to have your “total idol counter”/score (the total idols you got during the whole event) reach 100k. So if you are within range, it would still be doable for you.

If I understand correctly, and the way I see it, the quests/tasks, still won’t be doable unless you “speed-up” or use premium items (once they release buildings that drop shots). For the higher tiered streaks, you need 20+ shots. You only have 3 characters that could drop items. 6 4-hour periods in a day. 3 x 6 = 18. You can only get 18 shots using regular means (and that is if you religiously do it on the dot every 4 hours). You may get the x/20, but that is if you get the required color EVERYTIME, or if you have some stored up. This still won’t help much unless you CLAM UP.

Getting 90 shots will take 5 days, assuming you don’t sleep more than 4 hours a night and are never late.
And thats just for 90
shots, getting the right number of each color would take far longer.
Building or clams to hurry actions are gonna be the only way to get the Butt.
Really wishing I hadn’t spent the 50 clams for another worker to build the throne (cause a land expansion underway was gonna take another 34 hours)
But that’s ok, I set my spending limit and I will keep to it. It’s not like it’s Stewie or anything.

Give it a try it’s actually a ton of fun. If you don’t focus on collecting the idols abd just have fun. This actually saved the event for me….

Cool. I’m looking forward to earning more idols. I was wondering about the time left to get Cleveland’s costume and finish the prizes? Like a chart of where I should be? Can I make it? I started getting a few items but stopped because the tasks earn few idols. I’m at 24 000 something idols

Thanks for the info. My butt king showed up right after I sent Peter and Cleveland on their 8 hours dance task. So only quagmire can work for me now. Not happy
Anyways I got a question since I got more about 8 hours to build the throne. Should I spend clams on speeding up anything? Or am I going to be able to get the shots without spending clams on the actual task? Don’t know how much idols I could get I only have 34000 all together so I don’t think I’ll be able to get the character so should I even bother about completing the event or just save my clams since no one knows what’s gonna come soon? Thanks you 🙂

Store up your shots see what you can get before you start. You may be ok with out clams…it’s still a little too early to tell.

Thanks for the thorough documentation which helped me determine to play it slowly. I think that I won’t try really hard at these tasks as likely won’t manage the 100.000 after spending quite some idols on limited decorations yesterday (apart from the fact that this stuff sounds pretty exhausting for a somewhat disputable quality reward…).
I’m happy to have managed to get Adventure Peter, Cleveland, his 80s costume and some decorations. Good enough for me.
Now that both my A and B games will finish all of the Stonecutters event in TSTO with the final puzzle tomorrow I’m ready for a slowdown… 😉

Can’t cancel it. HOWEVER….you can build up shots while you wait. So just keep sending Peter, Quagmire & Cleveland on their 4 hr tasks and build up as many shots as you can while you wait for the land to finish & then the throne to finish. You won’t lose time if you do it like that. 🙂

I love the whole concept behind this, and it seems fair to put it this late into the event but man, I’m at 30k now, 70k in a week is going to be near impossible. 😦

Does the number of shots required to beat him go up with every defeat then? i.e. for the second defeat 4 shots, third defeat 5 shotes etc…
Also, how in the world did you get that many shots so quickly!!!

Clams…every time I turn around we dump another $100 into the game (that’s what all those ads you guys see are for…supports our clam habbits!)
And yes they increase every time you progress through 🙂

How shall ‘normal’ Players, without investing clams, reach 40 shots within 24h ? I guess it’s impossible.
In Germany, there are still no buildings, which drop shots !? Are you pushing the tasks with clams ?

They accumulate. So the lower levels don’t require as much, so you build them up & take advantage of all the time on the lower levels & work your way up

Yeah, I knew they were planning some kind of idol grab toward the end. Hopefully we can build up the streak and ride the wave to 100,000.

It dropped late last night fur me, around 9 pm. I placed the throne and it’ll be done in a little bit. I hope we will have enough time to do this. It’s hard to do when you are at work from 8-5. I play on bathroom breaks, breaks and lunch. Lol.
