Hello There Clammers!
As a few of our Kindle players mentioned last night in the comments, TinyCo has released the basic update for Valentine’s Day to Kindle devices. No, this is not THE Valentine’s Day update. Instead this is just the basic App store drop (changes to the icon- Valentine’s Peter , but Splash Screen is the same for now), so the Kindle Players will be able to start the update once TinyCo “Flips the switch” (we hope). We’ve seen TinyCo do this before with events like Comic-Con & Halloween. Since they have no control over when the update will be approved by various markets, they’ll release the basic update in advance, but not turn it on yet.
Personally, I think this is a great move my TinyCo. Amazon has been notoriously SLOW at approving TQFS updates, which puts our Kindle friends at a massive disadvantage to starting events. Now, they should be able to start right on time with the rest of us!
Now there were a few sneak peaks at the upcoming Valentine’s Day Event with the Kindle release…and while I’m not one to post something for the sake of posting it, I know some of you are chomping at the bit to get some Valentine’s Day Spoilers. So let’s see just what was previewed with the Kindle Update….

- Hey there, lovebirds! It’s Valentine’s Day and Quahog is in full-frontal celebration mode! The town has been inundated with randy couples looking to get their PDA on. We know Valentine’s Day is a sappy holiday, but something is off…. all of Quahog seems to be in a love trance and Peter needs your help getting to the bottom of this mystery.
- We’ve got some really cool features this Valentine’s Day that we want to share with you!
- Matchmaking
- – This Valentine’s Day, you can play matchmaker. Take two characters, send them on a date and see if they’re a match.
- Affection Meter
- – Whether you love Valentine’s Day or are as Anti-Valentine’s as it gets, we’ve got exclusive content tailored to how you play! Choose loving actions for your characters and watch the Affection Meter go up. Choose scarring actions and the Affection Meter will go down. When the meter reaches either end of the love spectrum you’ll win prizes.

Bunny and I both LOVE concept art! We saw a few designs from Halloween when we were visiting TinyCo last October & we’re so glad they’re sharing some concept art with everyone this time around! It’s so great to see the design process! We were also lucky enough to spend some time chatting with the artists and animators at TinyCo, they are some seriously talented people! They love what they do and it really shows in their work!

I can’t even launch my game on my Samsung Galaxy S4.Keeps saying there is an update, but when I tell it to go to the google play store, it just offers to uninstall or open, neither of which fix it. Rebooted the phone, etc. still nothing. Tgeir website had no answers either. A little let down.

Hi. Not sure this relates to the upcoming event. But Arnie has just put on his FB page he’s in the game with a character screenshot. Can’t seen him in mine yet but maybe he’ll hit soon? A possible Terminator theme with the new movie out soon? Can’t wait. Looks awesome

I have an oddball question!? Why is there still 1 American Dad item, Haileys protest tent thing left that we can still buy but not the rest?? I was wanting more white fences 😞

Because you could unlock Hayley after the event ended, as long as you placed Jeff’s Van in your town. And you need the Tent to complete one of the tasks.

I did the update about 3:30pm but there is no update. I hard closed it out, opened it up & Peter acted like he had something to say but went away & I closed it out again. When I got back on most of my people were done working after only minutes too but still no Valentines Day update!?!? Am I early to the party?? THANK YOU!!!

Some new functionality – if there is an action for which you have an item (building/deco) stored it now has a little green GO label on the task which takes you to the inventory item to place it when you touch it.

Ladies! I need help!
I updated the game and after that the game went crazy. The problem is pretty weird and nice in a way but i am kind of scared that there might be consequences:
There’s something wrong with time in the game. Time keeps jumping forward and my quests end in minutes. It’s fine and cool of course but i don’t do anything and it keeps happening by itself. Did it happen to anyone else? I enjoy the fact that i can clear my quests easily but i would appreciate it if you can help me out.

IOS , i have an iphone 6. And yes it happens every time, my jesus’ 1 day task ended 2 times already.

And basically this happened after you installed the update? So you just installed the update and then what happened? Did you send a character on a task? Were they already on tasks?

Yes it happened exactly like that. I installed the update, some of my characters were already on tasks. When the tasks ended very fast, i tried it over and over and every time same thing happened.

Any specific characters it’s working on/not working on? I’m trying to duplicate on my iOS and not having luck so far..
Did you leave the game inbetween? About how long did it take for the tasks? Did the timer show less time? Or time as usual?

It works with every character. Not only characters, buildings are effected too. I guess 1 hour is equal to 2 minutes or less. Timer shows the right time but it jumps from 6 hours to 4 hours in 5 minutes.

Same here ios 8 iPhone 6 plus latest update. Can set tasks kill the app and re open It and the task is complete! Jesus is paying out clams like crazy now!

Just a heads-up: the appstore (iOS) update seems to have broken the cooldowns of tasks… Takes me about 5 minutes to finish 1-hour tasks, and longer tasks seem to jump with 1 hour plus increments every 5 minutes or so… Reported in-game to TC as well of course…

It just updated on iOS, but I had already played.a few minutes before it downloaded, and except for the game icon, nothing new has happend in the game except that when you start the game the loading progress bar is always all the way at the end like it’s fully loaded already.

It’s great that they keep us busy with updates, however, I’m not impatient as poor little Stewie has been standing outside funland since before christmas, waiting to be unlocked but all characters have been busy on other stuff

It has since been deleted but it must have been on the official page as it was on my newsfeed posted by Family Guy and their official page is the only one I “like” on Facebook. It was a picture of Arnold in FGQFS character fashion and had the game logo on the top as well.

My kindle has updated but not the full update. My HTC won’t let me play. It’s saying please update but I have the most up to date one. I tried ‘re-installing it and it’s done the same. So soon hopefully

It’s not out on Android yet. At the moment your kindle is slightly ahead of your Android (which almost never happens). So you can only play on your Kindle until the update hits for everyone else.

I was surprised to discover from your post that there was a Kindle update – aghast in fact! So on my return from the gym last night I checked the Kindle Amazon Game store & blow me down there was under the game an Update available! Well lawks a lordy I did anxiously update – after spotting the new logo – it has now reverted to the old standard front screen – thank goodness to get rid of that flipping well annoying Christmas screen – and also now all characters now have on their action list a little clapperboard – which I discovered represents the outdoor animated tasks! Good news if you want to select an option where they don’t shuffle off indoors!
Well – look forward to actually getting a Kindle update in good time for once! Keep up the spiffing work ladies & gents!

i wanna play it now! i keep checking every hour for a update think it won’t be till tomorrow now!, and i nearly finished all quests.. just need to set chumbawumba stewie on his 10 hour task… would have been done if i didn’t set him on bubble task grrr force of habit!, brewed 2 chumbawumas… when will the ones roaming my street for stewie kill 20 chumbawuma task go away there still walking around with the 2 i brewed

I am a big fan of this site and the game! You gals do a great job so please keep up the hard work! That being said I can’t wait for this event but I was a little disappointed with the best of 2014 event as I was only able to unlock one character although I spent every feasible moment on the game. Best of luck to the rest of you fg gamers.

It will not let me update on my IPad air. I can’t get into my game because it says I have to upgrade and there is not an update yet.

Kindle had the upgrade already. Just non-active currently. My GF tried to load her game on her phone a couple hours ago. She is locked out there since Android doesn’T have it yet, but not on her Kindle.
If I try to visit her, it tells me I need to upgrade. She wants phone access back. Her Kindle runs slow. 😛

But it’s not the actual update. Just…prep. The player is on iOS, so Kindle wouldn’t impact their personal game. Sounds like something is trying to come through iOS too… but it’s prep and shouldn’t.

Any idea why New Years items are once again attached to character actions? Have not tried it out to see if I get anything, but I’m not sure why they’re back.

It sounds like, and obviously this is an uneducated guess, that only one spectrum will be available unless you’re really fast at completing it. I think if you send people on affectionate and unaffectionate tasks, they would cancel each other out. But who knows but Tinyco (that almost rhymes)
This event seems very different than the ones of yesteryear so I’m e’cited. Hopefully my game will stop crashing every three minutes and go back to its normal-crash every six minutes-self.
The best thing Family Guy could do for valentine’s day though, is to stop Bonnie’s murderous “jokes” about Joe, both on t.v and in the game. I like both the characters (at times) and it puts a damper on Bonnie’s character. What happened to the happy couple from episode two? (you know, besides for that thing in Paris, haha).
But anyway, looking forward to the event.

My thoughts… don’t judge something before it even starts. Lol. I see many players panic on day one… but towards end are quite proud how it was most definitely an accomplishable event. TinyCo constantly monitors their game and watches for trends… it is hard to know how something will play out until you actually play it out to millions. They have learned to grow and adjust on the fly.
I for one can’t wait to see what this next event brings. Love me a challenge. 😉

idk?? ?but i just know for a fact I have never “FAILED” an event so far i started playing right at the end week of ComicCon…and i don’t buy clams at all sooo everything is so simple to unlock and obtain in my opinion…i think Bunny and Alissa can vouch for that also. ❤ 🙂
