Love is in the air in Quahog and some characters are getting to the heart of holiday!
A few characters in Quahog have tasks to help you earn more Valentines…and a lot of you are asking which ones earn what, how often & how many. So…with out further ado let’s cover the who, what, where, when and how of Valentine’s Day tasks to earn you more Valentines!

Does anyone know if TinyCo will be releasing other ways to earn broken/love hearts? Maybe more character tasks will drop them (similar to arnold), perhaps a heart generating item or building? With the ever increasing heart requirement for prizes, it will take a long time just having the couples and arnold generating them. Hopefully in the next phase tomorrow?

We have all these valentine cards and not much to do with them, I’m thinking that the next unlocks might cost a lot or there’s a bit of content still to be released.

Why do the main characters have four hour tasks that earn 20 and the secondary characters have 24 hour tasks that only earn 30? 30 valentines for a one day task??? I asked TinyCo why it was so low, everyone else should too, they might raise it. On an unrelated note, I asked TC about Ida and she does have to be fully unlocked by the end of the event if you want to keep her.

Because you’ll need the main characters more for the event than the secondary characters. So they award more cards on shorter tasks so you can keep them free for when you need them.

Most of the characters with 24 hour tasks were earned through playing events or clams, so I look at it as a (small) bonus for long time players and those that have supported the game with character purchases.

Hey TinyCo, if you’re listening, while we’re waiting for the next phase, it would be great if the PDA couples gave you valentines instead of love/hate hearts when we don’t know what prize we’re working for. Would be a great way to earn more valentines. I have over 100 love because I just couldn’t stand to see those couples just walk around and not click on them. I really hope that I want whatever love prize is coming.

So I reach Ida Davis phase but none of my characters was dropping items for her so I’m now force to push the timer on here, kinda nervous and bummed out

The PDA Couples timer is sketchy at best. It will say I’ve gotten all the couples, when I havent, and clear out with about a minute still left. Anyone else?

If you clear all of the Love couples it will clear out the hate couples automatically. Thus saying they disappear. BUT if you clear all the hate couples, the love couples will stay until the timer runs out. Why? I don’t know..it’s just how we’re seeing it work.

Thanks! I just had it clear with 1:45 still left which I probably could have cleared out the rest with that time. Maybe it’s a limit on how many ‘love’ couples you’re allowed to collect?

You won’t be able to craft it until you reach the Who’s Ever Heard of Hopsberry questline, part 6 specifically.

Why are there no more love or hate prizes to collect after Quagmire and Peter?

More will be released with Phase 2. They always have prizes locked (or hidden) with each phase roll out. Keeps a certain element of surprise & keeps you engaged in the game

I’m trying to unlock Ida and for Herbert he is dropping beer bottles instead of the item I need for Ida which is beyond frustrating. TinyCo should fix this problem to only have the item you need, especially if a task is timed

You probably need them for something like another character or skin so he would have a chance to drop both items. And if you don’t need them for something else then you should probably contact them about that.

If you haven’t completely brewed all of the items and their multiples from the brewery then you technically still need those beer bottles. I know it sucks but what can you do.

I dont like the fact that we have a timed limit on getting love couples ,,, then have to wait to see if its hate or love … Then it seems impossible to get the meter fulll….

I pushed all my building around the permitted and then clumped then together for the building that didn’t around the perimeter. Then got rid of all my bushes, fences, decoys, really anything that did not earn me something. I didn’t have any roads. I know your frustration with those damn PADs. Took me a whole to figure out what people were saying. you need just one strip of a road where no building are built around and only that one strip of road. Then all the PDAs will stay right on that strip. 3 minutes is plenty of time. I’ve even expanded my strip to have side roads. Just did this so all the PDAs Don’t clump together and spread out. Hope this helps

When did we find the characters like John McClane…gene simmons to earn extra cards..they should post it on the game first too when you log on cause I already had john doing something for 24 hours when I got this now he is busy and I can’t same with Jillian and other characters….that just poped up these new actions for card. really frustrating when you cant stop your charachter without paying

I am still struggling with the PDA couples. I know they did an update, but a) Peter doesnt tell me when they are there (but does tell me when they are gone) b) I have no hearts over them c) they are ALL walking around kissing…no slapping going on, so I dont know which i selected til I get the heart.. I unlocked Ida and Beautiful Peter…have the Love Tunnel and workout area…but no sign of Arnold.

Arnold appears for purchase after you’ve completed part 9 of Beautiful People.
As far as the couples..you have to watch them. They’ll walk for a while and when they stop you have to continue to watch..then they’ll do the dip or slap.

I am not one to normally complain but with a short amount of time to get Ida, the fact that Herbert keeps dropping beer bottles is frustrating. I have completed all the tasks at the brewery that needs bottles, so I don’t see a way to make it stop. I even tried to put the brewery in inventory for now, but it won’t let me.

If you clear all the Love couples the hate couples will disappear, even if time is left on the timer.

Handsome peter seems kind of useless… maybe if the one hour task was bumped up to ten…
QUEMENT: Is there any way of knowing what the next set of prizes will be so we don’t collect a bunch of the wrong kinds of heart?

Thanks Alissa, yes I’ve only been collecting the love hearts…now I’m at 99 an it still doesn’t look like the meter has moved much…maybe a little bit. Hard to tell for sure.

as you go higher up, the meter doesn’t look like it moves as much. they use that mostly with everything, including characters levels.

i just read somewhere else since the next prizes haven’t been released yet its probably not moving at all jus yet! i wouldn’t worry tho about losing the alreadt collected hearts! that just gives you a head start on the next coming prizes. I’m excited for Feb.12th!!! 🙂 yay can’t wait actually.I’m LOVING this event !..again lol ❤ 🙂

The meter has no goal number to reach with things locked, so its not going to move. Once new prizes are revealed it will change and even award a prize if you have enough.

Anyone else having trouble with getting the handbags for Ida?
Since both Jerome and Herbert both have multiple drops for their handbag task I’ve been getting a low drop rate and I’m in danger of missing the target – despite constantly working on this.

Yep, having trouble with the handbags too, though with Harbert and Jerome the handbags is the only available drop for the task, I have all the military ribbons & only 2 or 3 hormone pills left to get but I have only managed to collect 2 handbags with Herbert & Jerome working around the clock! Getting a little worried with that timer ticking down!

Does Idea have to be complete before Thurs? I have everything for Handsome Peter except enough Valentine’s but want to get him before her since Bunny said something about one of his tasks helped to get her doesn’t help the past day that I’ve been trying to unlock Vinny too 😦

You’ll have 5 days to unlock Ida once you “find her”. Basically once you build the bench and have Ida popup with the timer.
Best thing to do is get Handsome Peter first and then work on Ida.

Yes. I asked TC and they said Ida needs to be unlocked before the event ends if you want to keep her in your game.

My Chris does not have the “workout like a man” task.

Once you build the Beach Body Gym he will. It triggers later with Arnold’s questline (the freemium part of the questline, not the part where you have to buy Arnold)

Hmmm it’s possible it won’t unlock until you clear the Beautiful People questline. I know that task for Chris is the first task in the Clams and Muscles questline

Make sure you scroll through his tasks and look for it. It won’t be at the top.

I still haven’t repaired the bench yet, I am planning on doing that later in the day when I am close to unlocking everything else. My question is, how long do I have to repair that bench to unlock Ida?

Waiting for full confirmation from TC, but if it’s like other events you’ll have to completely unlock Ida before the event ends on the 26th. And remember they’re just going to add more characters, so if you let it go too long you’re just going to have a big build up to unlock before it ends.

Just unlocked Ida about 10 minutes. Working on her/his quest line now and finishing up Arnold’s quest line right now with his last task. Well, since it was said that we would get people that aren’t afraid of Alien and Predator and now we have Arnold so does that mean Sigourney Weaver can’t be too far behind?

I am 1 hot wax away from unlocking Handsome Peter. I am repairing the bench now and have about 3 hours left so I have not started earning items for Ida yet. I have not unlocked Arnold (haven’t advanced that far nor do I presently have enough clams to unlock him) <holding out on purchasing clams

It must take a ton of hearts to unlock the 1st love/hate prize in phase two. I’ve collected around 85 love hearts and my meter has barely moved at all. Anyone else notice this?

First prize is 15, the second is 50. Remember every time you collect a broken heart it cancels out a love heart. So if you’ve been collecting both you’re just canceling the other out

I’ve been collecting only love hearts. I’m at 68, but like freefly mentioned, the indicator is still hangs in the middle. I’m afraid it will reset to zero when the next choice is unlocked. To keep it fair maybe? Anyhow, I’m still collecting hearts…

There’s no target number so it just hangs in balance. Since there’s no end goal yet it can’t move towards something, which is why you’re not seeing it move

I think what he means is tthat for phase 2 prizes must be a lot of hearts, since its the same for me, ive gotten both first and second prize and I have over 90 hearts for the new pprizes, but the meter doesnt move at all, so the next one must be a lot or still undetermined

Once you’ve claimed both prizes the meter won’t move since there’s no prize you’re working toward yet.

I’m guessing the game is still letting us collect hearts but the meter won’t move until phase 2 unlocks. I’m concerned about collecting too many in the interim in case there’s a better prize on the other side.

Prize 2 required 50 hearts which was a jump from the 15 that prize 1 required. My guess is if you stay in the 70-75 heart range you should be ok.

The meter won’t move at all until the next required amount is defined. As of now, it’s infinity so that is why the meter isn’t moving.

You need to collect either all the kisses or all the slappers. It you collect both you cancle out each heart you collect.

Unfortunately, Handsome Peter’s tasks suck! Other than the 1hr task for 5 valentines, there’s nothing shorter than 12hrs! And the 12-hr tasks give only 20 or 25 valentines when the regular Peter “struggle through workout” gives 20 in 4hrs… just like the other characters with 4-hr tasks. Too bad I won’t have my Handsome Peter walking around Quahog much.
[FYI: Mort has his Selling Tickets 10-hr task, missing from this list.]

I think it’s not fair that those who already finished all District 10 questlines (like myself) still have brewery actions for characters. For example Herbert now has the same task for Ida and the brewery. I don’t need him gathering beer bottles anymore!

I think it stops after you’ve crafted every available item, and the multiple quantities for each. But not 100% sure on it

Maybe. But I really don’t need hundreds of useless decorations sitting in my inventory without even a possibility to sell them.

I agree entirely with “Lena Sh” if we’ve obtained the required number of each item needed to complete the quest lines then why do we need the multiples?
Forgive me if my maths are wrong but I think to obtain every item from the brewery requires:
200 – Caps
118 – Bottles
88 – Bubbles
140 – Tickets
36 – Handles

You don’t need it but you have options to get them. (some people want to decoration with various bushes and trees, so the option to craft more is there) Until it’s all crafted the tasks will continue to show, it’s just how it’s coded.

Question about this: (I, too find it frustrating that Herbert drops bottles, when I need his Ida item) I don’t require anymore bottles.
I have the hops fountain and the chumbas left to brew. Chumbas are still locked, as I’m not sending Lois on a 12 hr shopping excursion until I have Ida, at least. Might wait until event ends, depending on how much I need her. I would brew the fountain, but don’t have enough tix for 2 chumbas and the fountain. So I was waiting until that quest was done. And it sounds like even if I did brew it, since multiples are offered, the items would still drop…
OK, here’s my question: if I store the factory, will the option to drop those items go away? AND, will I retain items already gathered? Thanks, guys!

I don’t think you can put the brewery away while it still has items to brew, I’ve just tried and Peter pops up with a message – “This is too important to put away”

I can verify that items disappear from the tasks when you have crafted every single item to the max that item is used for. I am no longer collecting empty bottles but I am collecting everything else because I don’t have enough bubbles to craft everything. So you can keep collecting beyond the max but they do eventually disappear.

I am in the process of unlocking Carter and some of his tasks overlap with event tasks, so I think a lot of people probably have similar issues.

I emailed TinyCo about Herbert dropping Brewery items even though I no longer need them. I got the reply that “they understand my frustration and that the problem would be discussed.”
Hopefully they’ll either give Herbert a 2nd task for the handbags or another character will be dropping them as well.
As it is, I got 3 bags in 24 hours, so if that pace continues I’ll get all of them in the 5 day time frame.

It would be cool if Tiny Co would make all those actions highlighted like needed for a quest or at the top for the ones with 1 or 2 actions that help with events. Even more so for ones that are timed. some characters have alot of costumes. You all are awesome, thank you for being my guide. O and of course having same characters give multiples sometimes sucks too really during timed events.

They do have a task that pops up when you’re done with the questline. It’s basically a make the guys workout quest, to remind you to keep earning valentines. At that point those tasks will highlight for the guys, the work out ones.

Or maybe put a little image on the characters image so we know they do something for that event. Like this event they could have a little heart. For St. Pattys it could be a clover. Easter could be an egg. It would also help us know which characters we should pull out of inventory.

I’ve been constantly having Peter, Quagmire, and Joe do the 4 hour Valentines tasks. I’ve also started using Bonnie after getting all my Beautiful People’s Membership Cards and Chris after unlocking Beach Body Gym.
It should be noted that Chris has a 4 hour task that produces 20 Valentines after getting Beach Body Gym called Workout Like a Man and Mort has a 10 hour task that produces 35 Valentines called Sell Tickets.
Overall I’m loving the event. I’m a freemium player, so no premium items and no clamming. I do have Jake Tucker bought as I’m using all clams earned to buy the 5 special clam only characters (Consuela, Buzz Killington, and Cleveland left) so that made Military Ribbons a bit easier for Ida.
I’m 2 handbags away from unlocking Ida and 95 Valentines away from unlocking Handsome Peter. I’m confident both will definitely be unlocked today. Handsome Peter is pretty much guaranteed at this point. Let’s just hope Jerome and Herbert can get both those handbags.

Oh also, for phase 2. I saw a post that may have revealed what the 2 extra benches are for.
If you go to your friends “universe” and click on the benches, they are named with Cheryl and Cupid so most likely Phase 2 will bring Cheryl Tiegs and Phase 3 Cupid. I’m not sure if Tinyco patched this as I only have 2 friends playing and they aren’t active so none of them are in the event and I couldn’t confirm this myself.
I’m also hoping for a Glenda Vajmire costume since she’s on the tab for the next phase.

On a related note, I have everything I need for handsome Peter except th lipo machines, I have 4 of the 10 needed. I just saw that I can build more gacebos, so I am building as many as I can. Plus they earn back the valentines that they cost in less than 6 days so there’s that too.

Valentines are used to buy items for the event. Remember more stuff will be released with each phase and you can only purchase it through valentines, no cash will be used for this event.

To go off of what Alissa said. The valentine’s allow you to get the limited time buildings, characters, and decorations. Once the event is over, the buildings that are currently giving valentine’s will give coins instead. so they will always have a purpose. Does that make more sense?

There’s one missing for Chris. After you build the Beach Body Gym he unlocks a 4 hour “Workout like a man” task that earns the same as the other 4 hour tasks
