Seems our lil American Family, mainly Peter, obsessed with some Football has swayed the creators to drop in his favorite sports game into our silly lil Quahogs.
Just what does this mean? IT’S FOOTBALL TIME IN QUAHOG!! Get your game face painted, your pom poms at the ready, don’t forget to get a lot of snacks and drinks for the rowdy crowd… TIME FOR A TOUCHDOWN!!
THE FOOTBALL CHALLENGE WILL END THURSDAY FEBRUARY 11th @3PM PACIFIC
First up, the Basics…
- Peter will start the Event
- In order to see all that is included with this Event, make sure you are on the lastest App Market Version of the game. 1.17.0
- Players will ONLY see this on the Mobile App Version, not Windows Stand Alone
- Players will need to be to at LEAST District 3 in their games and have Al’s unlocked.
- The Li’l Griffin’s Event will End today, January 21st, until 3PM PACIFIC. (2 Events running together temporarily.)
- You will have until the End of the Event to unlock items, anything not unlocked BEFORE the Event Ends goes with the Event.
I am only here for a very very very short lil bit as I am temporarily “with it”, but that won’t last long. Lol. With me in n out of conscious, Alissa will be helping me out a lot with this one, so hang in there while she pulls all the stats and details in the usual way and update them to this post as she runs through the Event. Back with more in a bit…
***Crashing Issue in Football Field***
Watch for 1.17.5 Update to correct. Possibly as early as tomorrow AM.
UPDATE BUNNY 4PM EST 1/22: Downloaded 1.17.5, then force closed app, then restarted my device to ensure it completely updated new version. Went to football field and tapped on marker, pulled up my helmet count requirement, tapped on “Go” … task check off and I could “hike”. Able to move forward on Football Field again.
For those of you that have been crashing on any actions with the Football Field, try the same.
- Download New 1.17.5
- Force Close App
- Restart Device
- Try Football Field action again to see if crashing issue gone.

ANNOYING SUPER FANS
Appeared right away. At first they seemed to take a bit to spawn, but now seeing around 7-8 at a time in my game. Require 1 Football Launcher to take out (create in Training Facility).
Annoying Fan must be in the “Kill Zone Circle” in order to take them out (Look for the Annoying Super Fan to turn Purple), then place Football Launcher in FRONT of the Fan so they are in the circle still when you place it.
Payout: Varies from 1-2

FOOTBALL FIELD
Every 10 Yards has a Requirement to move forward on the Football Field. The Requirements will vary per Player. Game Requirements Bunny’s Game. Tap on the ! in the Football Field to find out what your Requirements currently are and what “Yard” you are currently on.
Requirement 1, 80 Yards Out: Take Out 1 Annoying Fan & Collect 2 Helmets
Requirement 2, 70 Yards Out: Have Quagmire Throw a Short Pass & Collect 3 Helmets
Requirement 3, 60 Yards Out: Collect 3 Helmets & Have Tom Brady Make a Perfect Throw (Will only show IF you have Tom, if not another task will take its place) ***This part is glitching, tapping on Helmet crashes game and the Helmet count is not working, TinyCo aware and working on it***
Rewards: Chance at 1 
Playbook AND/OR 1 
Weight (character needing weights releasing 1/22)

Here is where you can keep track of the “Games” you have completed. Each Game will have a set amount of Requirements. These are the ones per Bunny’s Game

***FYI… Once item is used, it is used. For instance once 1 Football is used to complete Game 1, counter will go back down 1 Football, subtracting the 1 used.
You can complete each Game and work towards getting, so far, 3 separate prizes. Here on the current ones listed.

Cheerleader Bonnie (Costume): Win 6 Games
Touchdown Jesus (Costume): Win 8 Games (for Players that do NOT have Jesus, you will get Jesus for Free with this Costume)
TRAINING FACILITY
Here is where you will create items used to take down random Walking Characters in the game. For Phase 1, that is the Annoying Super Fans.
In order to take down an Annoying Super Fan, you need to create a Football Launcher. In order to create a Football Launcher, you need Wrenches.

Football Launcher: Takes 30 minutes to Create.
Your Capacity (the TOTAL amount of items you can have creating AND completed in the game at one time) will vary. You will start out at a Capacity of 6. You can increase this right now only by a Clam Purchase of the Hatorade Fountain. More options may come later in the game. So if your capacity is 6, that means you can ONLY have 6 total in your game whether completed or waiting in queue to be created. No more than that will be allowed.
Your Queue is the current items creating in the Training Facility. Right now your Queue is only 4. That means you can only make 4 at a time. You won’t be able to make anymore until those 4 finish.

Footballs: Reach the End of the Football Field OR Get a First Down Now says “Progress Down the Football Field” (I think due to Player confusion as to when they actually got a “First Down”…so just keep going til you get a Football. It is NOT every time you clear a Requirement.)
UPDATE 1/22: Clarification on Football drops. EVERY Touchdown is an Always drop for them. Progression through the Football Field is a CHANCE drop of a Football (more Rare to Extra Rare). So you can get one randomly as you play the field, but your main source is getting to the end and getting a Touchdown.

One more for an “issues” post: Inventory->Event is showing ALL Decorations instead.
I accidentally lag-tapped through the 1st game victory dialog. Did it give a prize building/decoration? I have no idea cause I can’t find anything while scrolling through my 100s of stored items, though I could easily just be missing it. Still begging TinyCo to add event category tabs. I don’t expect that to ever happen though. Heck, they still haven’t gotten back to me about not giving me my Chugs yet. 😡

I just want to know why everyone is calling it American football? it’s North American football , but most people even in the states don’t know that Canada is on the same continent and in some cases a 2 hour drive away. North American football North American football

Well this event is concentrated on the NFL which consists of 32 teams which are all from major American cities or regions. None in Canada. Thus the term American football. But it is mainly used to differentiate between soccer, which the rest of the world calls futball.

Yeah, or just football. We know this is a USA based game, and in USA football is Superbowl and stuff. Why call it North American Football (it’s awful) and why call it American Football (it’s already settled in USA) Y U NOT CALL IT FOOTBALL!

Anyone else frustrated that Jesus is now free again once you earn the touchdown skin for him?? I’ve let TC know but after spending 350 clams in the last event to get him this is very disappointing!

He is essentially being set up the exact same way he was when he first hit the game last Christmas. Just playing through the Event so far, getting him will NOT be easy without time and hard work spent… so in short, some players may still have to spend Clams to get him or play constantly to hit him in the final prize spot. There is still a lot of difficulty to get there, so it’s definitely still balanced.
Just keep in mind, just like you saw in the best of event, ANY Character has potential to return. You are taking the risk anytime you spend your Clams that this can happen. The choice is yours and you have to decide if it’s worth it to you. If months from that point you’d still be happy with the purchase. Just know that the way they return is still pretty in balance with how they first hit the game. MANY Players spent clams to get him the first time last Christmas too, so it wasn’t just a random #. 😉
There will always be conflict anytime one is brought back… let me give you my personal example. I played BETA and paid 600 Clams for Consuela. Live game she dropped to 300. During Events she went on sale half price. Mobsters she was given free with her Costume. Same for best of.
In short, it may sting, but just know there are times you may catch a better deal then someone else on another item or Character. It all depends on WHEN you acquire the Characters, just know it’s always at your own risk when you do spend Clams. 😉

I’m not sure it is going to be that easy to get him. You need to win eight games, for each you need five touchdowns, for each you need eight first downs, and for each of those you need a mixture of tasks and items for which of need to send a number of characters on at least two hour tasks. So that is about 640 hours at least of non stop task assigning (assuming that each task drops the required material, which we all know doesn’t happen).

I agree it is frustrating but as long as they don’t release rare items that came from mystery boxes or let’s say Super Robot Elf who was only awarded to top leaderboard prizes I am okay with them bringing characters back. It was hearing that people got the don for free that really bugged me. Spent a lot that event to be in the top of the leaderboard to earn him. That one stung.

I try to think of it same way I purchase any goods from a store, you know eventually the price will drop and someone will get a better deal. But I got Jesus for free on his first release, but it wasn’t easy, I spent clams on other premium characters to complete in the tasks that were needed to collect for him, so he did kind of cost something if you see what I mean. And I think winning 8 games will require a lot work and dedication this event so it’s not a given everyone will get him.

Game keeps crashing. On the field, “60 yards out!”. Requires Brady Throw – completed. And then 3 football helmets. I have 9. I hit the green “Go” under the helmet and it crashes. I have cold booted. Restarted. Force Stopped. Nothin’. Can’t get past it.

just wanted to ask, is anyone else having the problem with their game crashing and restarting when they get to the end of the football field after clicking on the tick. I have tried un installing and installing again and i can not click on the final tick. I have clicked on the score board and it says game two requirements but still the tick is there and kicks me out every time i click it. Have contacted TinyCo through the game some hours ago, but no reply as of yet.

Are the annoying superfans supposed to have zero payout? I had three straight empty kills and haven’t gotten two at all. There really should never be an empty result when you have done the three things needed to make a kill. That’s the part of the game structure that turns players off so much.

I wasn’t full up and I understand it is not an always drop, but I read comments posted after I sent mine in that coins were dropping. I wasn’t even getting coins. To do the three things they are requiring and get nothing is discouraging. I would prefer they ask us to collect a larger number of items and have them be an always drop. I have sent the suggestion in-game in past events but I don’t even know if they read it. At least I would feel as I am making progress from doing the three things and getting some type of reward rather than doing the three things only to get nothing. Perhaps it is fixed and I will at least get a coin the next cycle.

I’ve had some of my cans of face grease disappear… I’ve hit about 5 or 6 annoying fans and received a face grease every time except 1 (maybe 2) but in Als costume shop, it says I only have 1 face grease.

Contact tinyco via the game so they can check your game to see what’s happening. Also make sure you didn’t use them at the football field. As some “plays” require grease

I finally have my first microphone drop thanks to Human Rupert. I’m from the UK so am not a fan of NFL but I believe I can still find this event enjoyable as it has started well and the drops are fairly good so far, for me at least.

The Mics are practically the only drop I’m getting. I’ve only had one super fan give me grease and I’m still on the 80 yard line with 1/2 for the helmets.

The game items earned for the matches shows what items are given. It show chance for the playbook and weights. When you tap on the football, it shows that the football is always awarded for both reaching the end zone and progressing down the football field. Is this a mistake on TC’s part as I only received a football on hitting the end zone.

So when i open my game i get prompted to upgrade, and go into the play store and it says my device isnt compatible with this version and won’t let me upgrade. Has anyone else had this problem or any known fixes?

Yes. Try to first go to the actual Web page of the app to try n download AFTER resetting device. Don’t use link from game to do so.

Just getting started with it. I like that it’s football themed, but it seems rather complicated, as is the current trend for the bigger events in this game. Also, seems to be the same few characters doing all the work while a couple dozen chill out in my inventory, collecting dust. Like, Trish and Tom don’t drop microphones? Come on!

First off, thank you Bunny, for posting this update even tho you may not be 100%. It is greatly appreciated. I admire dedication.
Number 2. I understand the connection of Rhode Island to the Patriots. But…..as a Jets fan, I HATE THE PATS. This event is gonna bother me. Thankful that Brady is premium cause I won’t be spending any clams to get him.

What is the difference between the two, they both link to the play field? I thought you progress to the end of the football field by getting a number of first downs? I haven’t received any footballs by getting a first down at all despite it saying this is an always drop?
But maybe I don’t understand this because I don’t know jack about football rules 😀

First down is essentially moving 10 yards. End of field… well… fields are roughly 100 yards. Lol.
The Football didn’t show for me either, but did check off on my requirements so I assume it’s used it right away.

I would ask this though… did it pop up and say “You got a First Down?” because if it didn’t you wouldn’t get a football. Only First downs and end of field award them… as noted in this post.

FYI… they changed the wording due to players confusion thinking EVERY requirement = a football. That was never the case. The game notes what the payouts are and when you would’ve won a football, usually by showing a reward Football icon in payout area with a “1” by it.

Hmm I still don’t quite understand, I asked TinyCo and they replied stating that you only get a football once you have a touch down after having reached the end of the football field, and this would tally up with what I am seeing but not with what you are saying and also not with what it says on the bubble on how to get footballs (which states two alternatives: get a touchdown AND progress down the field).
This may all be because I don’t know the rules of football though 😉

I got a Touchdown from 60 yards out. And that was after my first first down (ie, I kicked off at 80 yards, went to 60, then got the TD).

Got the notice to upgrade but no upgrade available in the iTunes Store on the iPad. I have power cycled the iPad but no luck.

Try to NOT go through the app itself. Instead try to go to the actual App Website and see if you can trigger the load from there. Also, make sure your Itunes is up to date so you see all the items listed there.

I just want to thank them for this event. I really needed the break and with the exception of the cheerleader Bonnie skin to go with slasher bait Lois the rest is more of a I’ll take it if I get it, but I’m not using any clams or putting any extra effort into it.

Just curious, anyone else getting the “Device not compatible” for this new update? I have an HTC M9 and it won’t let me even find the game in the play store any longer. I wrote support, but we know how fast they are at getting back to you.

“Players seeing this error message may not have their Google Play Services up to date, which is different than Google Play Games. If players are still not able to download the update with their Google Play Services up to date, send them our way!”
In short, make sure your Services are up to date. Check with Google to see what all that will entail. If still issue and Services up to date, contact TinyCo

Meds to manage pain… and recovering… trying desperately hard not to pull the stitches in the 4 different areas they cut me open. Not easy when you live in a multi level place with lots of stairs. Lol.
But mainly… meds and body just needing sleep. “Rip Van Winkle” Sleep per Alissa. I have good and bad days, today is a good day… but I will be going to sleep here soon. 😉

Years ago, my cat was making her life’s goal pulling out her stitches from spaying. The vet recommended putting masking tape over it… Well, I didn’t quite get the tape over her stitches but it worked anyway, since she spent the rest of the evening trying to get the tape off her fur! I took off the tape finally and she was so exhausted that she just fell asleep and forgot about them.
More recently, another cat was making a hobby out of chewing on her scar and the only thing (out of six approaches) that worked was a little suit made out of a square of an old t-shirt, with slits near one edge for feet and slits three inches down from the opposite edge for the paws, pulled up and secured along her back with safety pins. Plenty of bare fur for grooming and didn’t interfere with litter box activity. Just in case these ideas are useful for your situation ….. I don’t think a cone would work for you, it didn’t with the cats.

Lol. The stitches are sadly in areas where your body has a LOT of natural movement (like around waist), so hard to avoid any movement without laying perfectly still. I am not sure about a cone, though I think Alissa would put one on me for her own personal amusement. Lol

See what you’ve got me into……
I’ve stored a load of buildings and characters (Star Trek and American Dad) and game let’s me play ten mins (instead of three) before I get kicked out,
Building the hall of fame, Any given Sundae, and sports shop…..one clam short of Arron Rodgers shop,…. (maybe I should have watched more videos for apps I don’t want)

Just have to get in and get out. Ten minutes should be plenty! (I’m lucky that I’ve never had any real crashing problems, but I know it would get old fast.) Unless it’s something you really want, I’d maybe hold off on getting the Aaron Rodger’s shop since I understand it’s only a chance drop, not a guarantee. I don’t have it so can’t say with certainty. But I know you’re a Packer fan. Good luck on the event/game. 🏈😀

Football has absolutely NOTHING to do with “Being American”. You don’t have to like sports to be “American”. There is no “code” or “specifics” that makes one person more “American” than the other. Besides 90% of “Americans” came from immigrant backgrounds and countries, so again… moot point. 😛
Besides, kinda silly to start an argument like that on our site, don’t you think? 😉

It is the same thing with footy fans in Australia. Everyone just expects you to like the game. They say it is “in-Australian” to not like it. Some people don’t even bother to ask you, they just launch into a full on conversation about the sport. I always have to politely excuse myself from the conversation. I don’t go around talking about my favourite bands and singers to everyone that I meet, I know that some people would not appreciate it. I just wish that some sports fans would realise that not everyone likes sports either.

Anyone else having a problem with wrenches dropping? They say “common” but I’ve sent Peter and Mort twice EACH and Chris once and haven’t gotten a single wrench. I got one from the first part of the quest, but I didn’t get a face grease for clearing the annoying super fan either. I also didn’t get a weight or a football for getting a first down lol.. I’m just not getting anything for some reason. Just wondering if it’s worth messaging Timy Co about?

I got 3 in a row from Quagmire, but none from Jerome. Try to stagger the tasks and only collect from one character at a time. Same with Face Grease, it is NOT an Always drop, so there will be times you will get none.
As far as your other items, the Football I never saw count in mine… but I did get it as it checked off my requirement. The Weight… essentially you will NOT see counted anywhere as the Character needing them will not launch until tomorrow (as noted in the post) so no where to count them to… unless you get to game #2 and can access that counter.

I see some comments about concern over dropping the event earlier in the day as opposed to after 4 pm PT (which seemed to be the norm). Not sure if this is the reason, but I applaud TinyCo for doing it this way and it should become the norm from here on out. This gives players a chance to get into the event AND also gives TinyCo a chance for some quality control instead of glitches in the immediate overnight that continued on Friday and seeped into the weekend. They now have TWO FULL work days to handle any problems before the weekend hits. This would seem to be smart planning on their part based on the starts of, oh say, the last 40 events and mini-events.
Now if only they would respond to those of us who are still waiting for our leaderboard prizes from the last event. Either call us all cheaters and tell us to go pound salt or show us where we cheated in our games. But say something! Any type of response so that we know you have received our messages.

Tbh, I was a little shocked seeing it start today as in right now compared to at least 6 pm est. But I already had lil’ giant chicken so I was good.
I’m honestly happy with how they are handling the similar tactics from the Mafia event; where you have to do certain things to reach the end. It’s not difficult, at least in this sense which I hope I’m correct in. You need to win 3 games, then 6, then 8. I hope it builds up. Here’s what I mean: if you already got 3 games won, you should only need 3 more games won to lead up to the 6 games needed to be won instead of restarting to 0 games won and needing to get 6 games won. Then instead of restarting from 6 games won to 0 games won to get 8 games won, you start off with 6 games already won with 2 more games needed to get to 8 games won.
Hopefully that wasn’t too difficult to understand. I tried my best to word things out. But if the game goes at this pace, I’m really happy with this. Though I won’t care if I miss out on a football player star or whatever, tbh, I really don’t care for sports and I have zero interest in it. So just like the Christmas event, it’s just something to get me unbored. Though I will take that Touch Down Jesus since I get the reference…. despite not having him…

Darn, that would have been GOLDEN. I’ve got ~900 ad-clams, and it’ll probably be very helpful for finishing the event (and I really want football Jesus), so I’ll probably still grab it. Thanks for the response so I’m not disappointed after spending the clams.

I’ve already read a lot of comments on people who either aren’t football fans or they don’t know much about football because they’re not from the U.S. I’ll admit I’m not a big football fan either. But that doesn’t mean the town of Quahog isn’t, and part of rounding out the town is adding things that pertain to the show and characters. It’ll be good to get a few sports things into the game.
I’d not worry about needing to know American football to do the events. They’re click-here get-this kind of quests. Have fun, and if this isn’t your thing, there’s always the main quests, too!

I’m really surprised how short this event is gonna be, at 3 weeks long it’s the shortest big event we’ve ever had if my memory is correct, which it usually isn’t, lol. I’m a little confused about how you win each game, but from what I can tell Touchdown Jesus is the ‘ultimate prize’ of this event unless I’m missing something. But the event has just begun and I’m sure everything will become clear in the next few days, plus I’m sure you guys will be able to point us in the right direction for those of us who still won’t be able to get our heads around things. 🙂

Just the starting of the event is a bit complex I’m sure it will become easier to understand when everything is doable. Just in case your someone who might be frustrated frm the starting.
