Seems our lil American Family, mainly Peter, obsessed with some Football has swayed the creators to drop in his favorite sports game into our silly lil Quahogs.
Just what does this mean? IT’S FOOTBALL TIME IN QUAHOG!! Get your game face painted, your pom poms at the ready, don’t forget to get a lot of snacks and drinks for the rowdy crowd… TIME FOR A TOUCHDOWN!! But just how do you get a Touchdown? In this post we will be going over some of the Basics of the Football Field and how you can earn Footballs/Touchdowns!
FOOTBALL FIELD
The Football Field can be located in your Quahog of to the Center Right of your game. You will see the stands there and a First Down Marker in the Field with a ! over it.
Tapping on the ! will let you know the Current Requirements you will need to complete to move forward in the Football Field.
WHERE DO I START?
The Game starts you out at 80 Yards, then moves forward 10 Yards with each Requirement Completion. After getting a Touchdown, you will restart back at 80 Yards again.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I COMPLETE A REQUIREMENT?
You will see the ! over the First Down Marker change into a Check Mark.
Tapping on it now will show the Requirements checked off and the option to “HIKE” to see what happens. Tap on “HIKE” to move forward.
HOW DO I GET A TOUCHDOWN/FOOTBALL?
Just like in real American Football, a Touchdown can be made by either moving all the way down to the End of the Football Field and scoring a Touchdown OR by pure random luck, running it in from any other point on the Football Field (though in this game, that is more Rare)
Here is what the game says on the drops…
This is the confusing part to many players… specifically the “Progress Down the Football Field!” part. What this essentially means is, just like in a real Football Game, you can score from ANYWHERE on the Football Field. You can run a pass in from 80 yards or slowly work your way to the End of the Football Field.
Here is what it looks like when you “Reach the End of the Football Field” and win a Football! This one takes time as you start at 80 Yards and work your way down the Field.
Here is what it looks like if you “Progress Down the Football Field!” and win a Football after tapping on “HIKE” when you complete the Requirements. This one happens on a more Rare to Extra Rare rate. In other words, it is random to get it without going all the way to the End of the Field. To give you an idea of just how rare… I have only got this ONE TIME within the 5 Touchdowns to the End of the Football Field I have ran, it was at 20 Yards Out too.
WHAT DO I NEED TOUCHDOWN/FOOTBALLS FOR?
In order to complete the Games in the Scoreboard and earn the 3 Character Prizes, you will need to earn Touchdown/Footballs to “WIN” those Games.
WHAT ARE THE FOOTBALL FIELD REQUIREMENTS?
These vary by not only the Player, but by what Characters you own in the game or have purchased. To give you an idea, here are some of the Requirements I saw at various points of my game. You will also notice that a lot of the “Tasks” include drops you need anyway.
80 Yards Out:
- Take Out 1 Annoying Super Fan (Requires 1 Football Launcher each) & Collect 2 Helmets
70 Yards Out:
- Quagmire Throw a Short Pass (2hrs) & Collect 3 Helmets
- Collect 1 Face Grease & Collect 2 Face Grease (the 1st Requirement did count towards 2nd one for me, so I only needed 2 total)
- Tom Brady Make a Perfect Throw (2hrs) & Collect 2 Face Grease
60 Yards Out:
- Collect 3 Helmets & Tom Brady Make a Perfect Throw (2hrs)
- Build 2 More Football Launchers (30 mins & 1 Wrench Each) & Collect 3 Helmets
- Tom Brady Make a Perfect Throw (2hrs) & Chris Run Around with Bucket on Head (4hrs)
- Chris Run Around with Bucket on Head (4hrs) & Collect 3 Helmets
50 Yards Out:
- Collect 2 Helmets & Quagmire Throw a Short Pass (2hrs)
- Collect 3 Helmets & Chris Run Around with Bucket on Head (4hrs)
- Quagmire Throw a Short Pass (2hrs) & Peter Stub His Knee (2hrs)
- Quagmire Throw a Short Pass (2hrs) & Chris Run Around with Bucket on Head (4hrs)
40 Yards Out:
- Chris Run Around with Bucket on Head (4hrs) & Jerome Throw a Short Pass (2hrs)
- Collect 3 Helmets & Collect 1 Face Grease
- Collect 3 Helmets & Take Out 2 Annoying Super Fans (Requires 1 Football Launcher each)
- Collect 3 Helmets & Collect 2 Face Grease
30 Yards Out:
- Tom Brady Make a Perfect Throw (2hrs) & Peter Stub His Knee (2hrs)
- Collect 3 Helmets & Collect 2 Face Grease
- Peter Stub His Knee (2hrs) & Collect 3 Helmets
- Tom Brady Make a Perfect Throw (2hrs) & Quagmire Throw a Short Pass (2hrs)
20 Yards Out:
- Chris Run Around with Bucket on Head (4hrs) & Take Out 2 Annoying Super Fans (Requires 1 Football Launcher each)
- Collect 2 Helmets & Collect 2 Face Grease
- Mort Retreat Cowardly (2hrs) & Take Out 2 Annoying Super Fans (Requires 1 Football Launcher each)
- Collect 3 Helmets & Collect 1 Face Grease
First and Goal!:
- Collect 3 Helmets & Peter Stub His Knee (2hrs)
- Peter Stub His Knee (2hrs) & Collect 1 Face Grease
- Peter Stub His Knee (2hrs) & Quagmire Throw a Short Pass (2hrs)
WHY CAN’T I USE THE MATERIALS I ALREADY HAVE TO COMPLETE A REQUIREMENT?
Here is an odd thing out though to look for… At times the Football Requirements will let you use the saved up items to just check of the requirements by tapping “GO”. These will be visually recognized by the amount (like 15/3).
Other times it will make you still collect them regardless how many you already have, so watch for these too. These will show nothing currently earned (like 0/3).
WHAT CAN I WIN FROM THE FOOTBALL FIELD?
You will need to look at the “CHANCE OF:” at the bottom of the Requirements pop up to see what Material YOU have a possibility of winning by completing the Requirement.
Right now these are the ONLY two Materials outside of a $10 Coin that I have seen varying with the payouts.

IF I USE MATERIALS FOR REQUIREMENTS, DO I LOSE THEM?
YES! If you use a Material for one item/location in the game, it will subtract them from the overall totals. So if you use Helmets you have saved up for the Requirements, you will then see the counts go down for … let’s say… Football Jersey Chris.
A lot of these Materials are used for MANY things… so watch where and when you use them and choose wisely.
Here are some examples of the multiple places a Material is used as of Phase 1/Week 1.
Helmets Needed For: Football Field Requirements AND Games AND Football Jersey Chris AND Rob Gronkowski
Weights Needed For: Games AND Rob Gronkowski
Face Grease Needed For: Football Jersey Chris AND Football Field Requirements AND Games
Playbook Needed For: Football Jersey Chris AND Games
FOOTBALL FIELD CRASHING THE GAME
This has been a known issue since the start of the game. MULTIPLE Actions in the Football Field causing the game to crash. A patch has been sent out (version 1.17.5), but there are still some devices running on older versions of Android Operating Systems that did not accept the patch (anything lower than Lollipop didn’t take). TinyCo is already working on it, so please don’t post stats on it on this helpful post. Keep it for ONLY Football Field help as listed above.
Instead, if you have a question on the crashing, please use the post set up for the issue HERE. This will help to keep the updates all in one place and help me to better relay it all to TinyCo.
Overall the idea is to just keep running plays on the Football Field as often as you can. Stacking them with other requirements, like for a Character or Questline, will help you take out multiple tasks at once. This should help you at least get an overall idea of how the Football Field will work for you.

Why are we continually punished for progressing? Since I unlocked jersey Chris I’ve had to send him on an 8 hour task to move 10 yards 4 times in a row. At this rate I’ll finish game 3 when the Valentine’s Day event hits. 31 play books? Criminal

It’s just a requirement. You are not the only one getting them. You will run into them sooner or later. Just do what you can to pass them and keep going. I just noted the Options I saw, however I did not note if it was the EXACT same one as… well… that’s repetative… but I did get several more than once. You never know, MORE options to get them may come along in Phase 2 and 3. 😉

Really? I had him for about two days and the only task I get for him in progressing down the field is the bucket on head task. Sounds like I’m lucky – or you’re unlucky 😉

Anyone else have items mysteriously disappear? I woke up this morning to find all my weights (was one away from winning game 2) were gone. I am also still stuck trying to advance the ball down the field and when playbooks are the award I don’t get any because they aren’t required for any task. Very frustrating.

I have started on game three this morning, I have had one football from the 20 yard line and the rest from going the whole way. My only quibble would be that more opportunity to collect weights would be useful at the moment.

Your comment about lower than lollipop is not true. I have the lollipop os and the patch is incompatible with my s5. Fortunately i can get past most glitches via fb, but they need to fix that patch problem.

Yours is something else that GS5 is having an incompatible issue. It isnt the same as what is impacting players in the Football field.

FYI… have you tried these?
As a temporary workaround, Google suggests clearing Google Play Store’s data from your phone and then trying to install the game. To do this, go to Settings > Application Manager > All > Google Play Store > Clear data.
A second possible workaround is to re-install the entire Google Play Store App. To do this go to Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Store > uninstall updates. After that try to install the game again.

Twice now I’ve had to do Chris’ 4 hour task and Football Chris’ 8 hour task on the same play, really slow things down when you need 24 hours to move 20 yards.
Complete the length of the field 3 times now to win the first two Games, no early touchdowns 😦

Just one point – when I need to collect say two helmets to progress on the field, then this means only collecting them, not using them. So they don’t get removed from the total helmet count upon progressing. I guess this is what you mean as well but just wanted to clarify 😉
I’m currently waiting yo collect enough helmets and weights to complete game two, I’ve already got two footballs for it and am on my third football. If things continue like this then I might even get to eight games in total but I have a nagging feeling that the requirements per game drastically increase…? What was needed for your third game as compared to your second game? 😉

Currently I’m stuck in the End Zone!
Every time I hit the check mark the game crashes.
Also have a strange error message on Football Chris on the Playbook. The error states I haven’t unlocked it yet (I’m guessing to “progress down field”) although I already have 8/14 play books.
I sent “in game” messages (w/photos) on both, with no response yet!
I posted a photo of my sent messages on the ‘Family Guy Addicts’ Facebook page on post for this article.
Anybody else have open messages to TinyCo?

I’ve made a massive error and cashed in my helmets before creating chris’s outfit. Now i’m 10+ helmets away, i can already tell that i’m not going to unlock touchdown jesus because of this mistake, this is the problem with being freemium you have to play the events 100% the way inteneded or detailed online and do all available glitches otherwise you fall far behind

I got the Chris outfit and was immidiately met with a task to progress down the field, which he needs to do that takes 8 hours…. With 1,2 or 4 hours task as now, I thought I was doing reasonable. If I am now to get used to there being 8 hours tasks, surely it will take forever before I get to the end of the field.

I’ve made 7 touchdowns, won 3 games. Go me! Anyway, I’ve gotten two progress down the field touchdowns, one from 20 and one from 50 yards out. I’ve had no crashes either. My little corner of the Quahog multiverse is surprisingly stable. 😀

So far, I am not a fan of this event. Collecting so many books for the game #3 to get Dick Sherman is crazy, 31 of them? That is way too many for a character. I sure hope that Sherman is able to make progress in this game unlike other characters that I have hidden away. There should be more drop opportunities….c’mon TinyCo….you are losing people with the crazy insane ways you have these events laid out.

Hey everyone. I see that Spy Brian’s “Romp in the Snow” 24-hour action has a random 25 ? award with it. Any clue as to what this is? Maybe it’s just a glitch? A bunch of grey squares are shown floating to the top after the action is completed. Since he has no action in the football quest yet, figured I would see what this is. Can anyone replicate this?

It was his task from Christmas to drop Snowflake Medals. The event is over and they don’t apply, probably why you’re seeing just blanks.

What i dont get is i need 13 more weights to defeat the Nannies, and the only task that says it will give me weights right now is Chris’s blocking event…that means if i get weights each time, its going to take days and days to defeat game 2. why arent the weights showing up anywhere else anymore??!?!?!?
