Hey there Red Shirts!
Time to take a Chance at traveling to another Planet to see what the Star Trek Crew brings back with them. Just hope it’s nothing contagious. 😉
In this post, I will be going over the Basics of the Transporter, the Planets, and the various Rewards.
For more information on the Main Event, go to the Event Page HERE
Now let’s take a closer look at the Transporter.
WHEN WILL IT UNLOCK?Â

In order to gain access to all the Planets, you first need to Unlock Ten Forward. Once unlocked, it is just a simple tap on the Transporter to see all the Planets available in Phase 1 for you to journey to.
WHAT PLANETS ARE AVAILABLE?
For Phase 1 there will be 4 Planets available to you, one having to be first opened with Clams.
Borg Cube
Vulcan
Oh No’s
Terra Bobbera
MATERIAL NEEDED FOR TRANSPORTER
In order to travel on Away Missions to the various Planets, you will need to earn Communication Badges. There are a few locations around the game you can find these. Here is where I see them for Phase 1.
Star Trek Communication Badges: Worf Eat Rokeg Blood Pie OR Deanna Troi Work as a Translator OR Weapons Locker (Enterprise Room) OR T’Plana-Hath OR Bat’leth Badassery Outlet OR Starfleet Research Facility
HOW DOÂ THE MISSIONS WORK?Â
Each Planet has a various amount Cost of Communication Badges, Time, and Characters that will be used to go on the Away Mission as well as Rewards. You send the Away Team off, and then wait the allotted time to see what they return with.  While they are gone, the Characters can not be used for anything else as they are essentially on a “Task”. Each Planet has a Guarantee to give you at least Anti-Matter for the Mission, so you will at least get that if nothing else.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TIME ITÂ WILL TAKE?Â

As soon as you tap on the Transporter you will be taken to the Planet Main Screen. From here you can scroll left and right to the various Planets. Right under the Planet Name, you will see the Mission Time listed.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT REWARDS A PLANET HAS?Â
As soon as you tap on the Transporter you will be taken to the Planet Main Screen. From here you can scroll left and right to the various Planets. Right in the large area at the bottom, you will see the possible Rewards that Planet has a “Chance” at dropping. These can also be see in the Planet Details screen.

HOW DO I KNOW THE COST?
As soon as you tap on the Transporter you will be taken to the Planet Main Screen. From here you can scroll left and right to the various Planets. Locate the Planet you want to go to and tap on “SELECT” to be taken to the full details.
Once inside the Planet Details Screen, you will see at the very bottom center the Amount of Communication Badges you will need in order to go on an Away Mission for the Planet.

You can also look in the Top Right Corner of the game for the amount of Communication Badges “You Have” collected so far.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT CHARACTERS I CAN USE?
As soon as you tap on the Transporter you will be taken to the Planet Main Screen. From here you can scroll left and right to the various Planets. Locate the Planet you want to go to and tap on “SELECT” to be taken to the full details.
Once inside the Planet Details Screen, you will see on the Left Side of the Screen the list of Characters you can use for the Planet Away Missions. If the Character has a lock symbol, it is due to you do not have them in the game yet. If the Character is grayed out, it is because they are busy on another Task and can’t be used.

HOW CAN I TELL MY CHANCE OF GETTING A REWARD?Â
As soon as you tap on the Transporter you will be taken to the Planet Main Screen. From here you can scroll left and right to the various Planets. Locate the Planet you want to go to and tap on “SELECT” to be taken to the full details.
Once inside the Planet Details Screen, you will see off to the Left the Characters that can be used on the Away Mission and in the Center Bottom of the Screen the Materials you have a “Chance” of getting. Each is set right away at a specific “Chance” of Low, Medium, or High.

As you tap on a Character and add them to the Away Mission, you can see if that increases the “Chance”of the item you want to a better rating. The higher rating, the better Chance you have of them bringing that Material back from the Mission.
In the end, it is still just Chance of what you will get. See what Character Combos work best for YOU and give you the results you want.
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I SEND THEM?Â
Once you tap “ENGAGE” when you have the Characters you want and the correct amount of Communication Badges, you will see another screen appear recapping all you have just picked and the results.

It will list how much longer until the Characters return, what Characters were sent, what you have a “Chance” at getting and the degree of “Chance”, the Guaranteed Reward in case you get nothing else, and the Clam cost to complete the Mission right now.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY ARE DONE?
You can see the Reward they brought back by tapping on the Transporter. Tapping on “AWESOME” will bring those Rewards into your game.

Now let’s look an overall look the Planets.

Here are some of MY results, YOURSÂ may vary.Â
Remember, I already have everything from last Event, so my options are pretty much just the repeat items that everyone can get from the Star Trek Second Contact Event.
Missions at Borg Cube I got mainly:
- 4 Latinum & 5 Anti-Matter
Missions at Planet Vulcan I got mainly:
- 10Â Anti-Matter
Missions at Oh No’s I got mainly:
- 15 Anti-Matter
Missions at Terra Boberra I got mainly:
- 14 Latinum OR 20 Anti-Matter
- Catnip varied from 4 to 5 tries to sometimes back to back
Basically there is no set guarantee to get the Chance items. It will vary each player. I assume more may be added come Phase 2. Side Note: Once a Character is unlocked, the item they need will disappear. So once you have Vulcan Quagmire, the Giant Q-tips will go away and so on.
There you have the Basics of the Transporter Away Missions and all they can offer you for the Event.
What do you think of the Transporter? Have you tried your luck at it yet? What results did you get from what combos? Please share your tries and results below for other players to see.

Is anyone else having serious trouble collecting starfleet communication badges?
Finding it nearly impossible to gain any, let alone complete away missions successfully.
It’s pretty much halted any progress for a week now.

It is slow going right now. I seem to get more of them from the Weapons Locker than anywhere else.

Chris’s away mission is killing me. He just refuses to bring back catnip. I’d much prefer to have him working on Troi’s Hair Bands, but I have to keep sending him to get catnip I don’t need just so I can get the ‘Get 5 catnip from the away mission’ task checked off.

Again… I have to giggle. People needing Catnip seem to not be getting it, those wanting Latinum are getting loads of Catnip. The variables are so odd. 😉

Yep, I got Latinum on about half my attempts at getting the catnip.

Thanks for the heads up on your drop rates from the various planets. If even you aren’t getting Latinum most of the time from Vulcan, then it sure as heck isn’t worth dropping 100 Clams to buy it when I lose just one Latinum a pop at basically the same or better drop rate, for fewer Communicators at a time (and within a time frame in which it’s actually possible for me to get that many Communicators without speeding up tasks), and without sending people who would otherwise be dropping Gamma Rays and/or Phaser Energ—er…Photon Torpedoes.

I bought it with my last 100 clams. I don’t recommend it. It never dropped Latinum for me. Just my experience. I regret the clams spent and stopped trying to use it at all, with one or both.
Even BobaTera hasn’t dropped Latinum in 8-10 tries! Moved from middle of second place prize to off the board entirely from lack of any good drop.

I’m with everyone else, over a dozen trips and nothing but catnip! I can’t climb the leaderboards to save my life with this drop rate.

Drop rates seemed to have been altered. Chris is now on his 5th attempt to get the last catnip I need move on. First 2 dropped latinum only followed by 2 drops of event currency only. I have over 13k event currency and can’t spend it because there’s nothing to buy and only 2 thongs in my replicator. Notably after changing mission drop rates, they added Borg Consuela who drops catnip. 24 hrs and no catnip? I’m not having fun. So far this entire week has netted me only 1 deco for my dedication. Hope next week is better.

I made the mistake of having used the three Catnip I had left over from the initial “Kill 2” task, when the “Kill 8” task popped up. Had to wait for an additional Catnip drop before I could progress. It did, and I got to part 10 of the quest and am basically just waiting for Phase 2, since I should have enough Gamma Rays to unlock the Holodeck by then, but I’d still rather have an extra 14 Latinum and the spots those buy on the leaderboard than the extra 2 Catnip and however many useless Borg Parts I have now…

Lol…only 2 thongs in my replicator!

Argh, Family Guy crashed and reset my device for the second time in less than a month. It took me over an hour to reinstall all the programs I had on it. As for how I know its this game is the fact the game locks up my device and I have to press and hold the power button to turn it off to get out of it. This game is completely unstable.

I get the frustration, but not really something focusing on the Away Missions. 😉
Try to keep the focus to the subject matter please. 🙂

What phone and OS do you have? Can you reinstall the OS? There might be some corruption in the OS that is causing a conflict or an instability that shows up when too much is going on. You might notice it with the game because it’s more intensive than other programs.

Well, I’m stuck at progressing on the main quest line because I need 5 Catnip and it takes forever to get Communicators to go to Terra Boberra. TinyCo needs to have Borgs, Borg Kittens, and Tribbles drop Communicators. With me having everybody already and almost all things the Borgs and Borg Kittens have become useless with just dropping Borg Scrap. I don’t need Borg Scrap for anything.

If you have a PC, might I recommend getting a virtual android program like “Andy”roid. If you Google “Andy” and “VM” you should be able to find it. When the game doesn’t play so nice on my phone or tablet, I use Andy to get past those points. VMware + Andoid will wprk as well. The beauty is these solutions are 100% free. Also, PC’s have way more resources than almost all phones and tablets. Just a thought. Let me know if you need any help if you decide to go that route.

I’ve sent Chris to Terra Bobbera 6 times. I had 14 Latinum bars drop 3 times, catnip drop twice, and just the anti matter once. So it’s been pretty balanced for me.

Yikes. Where are you getting all those communication badges? My problem is getting enough badges needed for the trip. Even with the Klingon outlet building in addition to the room on the Enterprise, drops have been pretty slow. I finally collected enough for Chris to make another try for the catnip. I would like to get Worf, who does drop them in a task, but don’t have the clams just yet and also want to see what is offered in the second phase.

I get mine from the old buildings I had from the last time around!

Mostly T’Plana Hath, Worf, and Deanna for me. Maybe one or two from the Weapons Locker. Drop rate from the first three has been pretty good, and the fact that all three and the trip cycle at six hours, means I’ve only had him not on the trip for maybe 6hrs since the first time I sent him, though that’s only because I’ve happened to have a particularly good run on the Communicators lately. I always seem to have just enough to send him each time, so I doubt that will last forever.
Latinum drop rate is not so good. I’ve gotten Latinum on more trips than anything else, but it’s still probably under 50% of the trips, with Antimatter only and Catnip about half and half the rest of the time. Was up to within sniffing distance of Bertram early yesterday, but I’ve only gotten Latinum a few times since then, and was one shy of the top 5000 on last check (though I had just gotten 17 from the trip and from destroying Borg Cubes that hadn’t registered yet). Still, I wish I had built more than one T’Plana Hath back during the first event, or that there was a way to build a new one even though I currently already have one. I’ve got enough Clams socked away, that if I had a backstock of Communicators, I wouldn’t mind speeding up the trips on occasion to buy a few hundred or thousand spots on the leaderboard. Buying the Communicators alone is too expensive and carries more of a risk of waste.
It’s a shame that the only new thing this time so far is entirely dependent on luck and on how many people above me on the leaderboard are spamming Clams and/or cheating…

Actually what’s been strange for me is I had 3 possible ways to get communicator badges (Deanna troi, weapons locker and bat’leth badassery) and all 3 were dropping almost every single time, but as soon as I got enough Borg bits to place t’plana hath… I get 1 out of 4 possible drops, if I’m lucky- sometimes none. It slowed up big time ever since I placed t’plana hath.. To the point where I dropped from in the 800’s on the leaderboard to the 4,000’s in no time.. Strange coincidence, I suppose.

There needs to be more catnip drops….not just from one planet with a 6 hour wait time. This is killing me.

Anyone else having rubbish latinum drops from terra boberra? After 6+ missions ive only had 1 drop of latinum despite getting catnip nearly everytime with a lower chance. Its crippling my chances of getting anywhere near the leaderboard.

Lol. Then there are others of us that get Latinum when we need Catnip.

How about when you don’ t get Latinum OR catnip. I finally got Latinum after three catnip drops and a neither drop. Send Chris on a hug tribes job in hopes that it might force a Latinum drop.

Lol. Like I said, varies for everyone.

Yes, I’m sitting here with 50 plus catnip and have gotten Latium bars just one single time out of all my trips to Terra boberra too. Catnip coming out my ears and just 14 Latium. Could care less about borg cats as I’ve passed the required number of those and really just want to get Bertram but have absolutely no hope of doing that unless some super way to get Latium crops up on this second week of play!

I have not received Latinum once after 8 missions.. Just catnip every time 🙂

I TOTALLY agree with you and the comment above yours….I’ve sent Chris half a dozen times with only one drop of Latinum. If the game says the chance is ‘high’ then we should theoretically be getting more Latinum than catnip. Shame their algorithms are still not working properly.

Yes! I have sent Chris on this mission 11 times with only 2 Latinum drops -even though the visual claim by my game states the chance of dropping Latinum is ‘high’. Yeah right! Drop rates this go around are similar to what I personally experienced during the Big Game event….not so friendly. 😦

I have sent Chris 12 times, and have gotten catnip every single time. I have vast reserves of catnip.
Anyone wanna trade for latnium bars?

I do have to kinda giggle at this. Those wanting Catnip are getting Latinum. Those wanting Latinum are getting Catnip. Too bad we can’t trade. 😉
