We have cute lil Borg Kittens wandering around on board the Enterprise, but trying to figure out what to do with them… other than take them home and cuddle them, and hug them, and call them George.
In this post, I will be going over the Basics of how to take down one of these lil Borg Kittens.

First up, these cute lil mechanical furballs will not appear on board the Enterprise until you reach Star Trek: Second Contact Part 6.
WHAT DO I NEED FOR A BORG KITTEN?
In order to clear a Borg Kitten, you will first need to collect Catnip.
Catnip: Planet Away Mission (Terra Boberra-Chance) OR Borg Consuela Eject Pets from Enterprise (Always-NEW 2/16)
Here are the Basics for the Planet Away Mission.

HOW OFTEN DO I GET CATNIP FROM THE PLANET?
That really does vary by Player. I see some stating they get it a lot, I see others (like myself) that it is all over the board. All I can suggest is just keep trying. It may take you 6 to 8 times, it may take you 2 to 3 times, or it may even be your first try.
Either way once Klingon Chris comes back with some Catnip, you will have enough to Clear 5 Borg Kittens.
HOW MANY CATNIPS DO I NEED?
Each Borg Kitten needs just ONE Catnip to clear them. If you are following the Questline, you will need to clear 8 Borg Kittens for Star Trek: Second Contact Part 10 (2 for Part 6). Try to collect as much as you can in the meantime.

HOW DO I CLEAR A BORG KITTEN?
Now that you have the Basics of the Borg Kittens, let’s look closer at just how you actually clear one from the game. It will take a few taps. First locate a lil Borg Kitten wandering on board the Enterprise and tap on it. You will see the “Target Screen” pop up.
You will notice down in the center bottom of the Pop Up Target screen, the Catnip Image Icon will be listed on the RIGHT side of the amount of Catnip you have (x5). Tap on the Catnip Icon Image.
The Catnip Image Icon will now move to the LEFT side of the amount (x5). Tap on the Catnip Icon Image again.
Now after tapping the Catnip Icon Image a second time, you will be able to see the “Kill Zone” on the screen.
If the Borg Kitten is Purple, tap on the Check Mark to place the Catnip and take out the Borg Kitten.
If the Borg Kitten is NOT Purple, then press on the Catnip image in the center and drag the Zone around until the Borg Kitten is Purple.
Again, PURPLE IS GOOD!! PURPLE=BORG KITTEN CLEARED!
Even if another Borg Kitten wanders in, ONLY ONE can be cleared at a time.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CLEAR THE BORG KITTEN?
If you get the Borg Kitten in the Kill Zone and it turns Purple, tap the Check Mark to start the process to Clear the Borg Kitten.
The Catnip will drop onto the screen and the Borg Kitten will get ready to pounce on it.
It will attack the bag and start to devour the Catnip.
The Borg Kitten will short out and ***POOF*** it is gone. The Reward(s) you get will then pop out on the screen.

“Kill zone” for cute little innocent Borg kitties? No, no, no, no. Yes, they short circuit- but then the Borg bits fly off of them so we really are de-borgifying them. Obviously they are then transported to Quahog so they can frolic naked in their natural fur in the fields, chasing mice. Whew. “De-borgifying zone” makes me feel much better about it.
Since they seem to have a laser in their head gear just like Locutus – does this mean a Borg kitten can chase after its own laser beam? The Borg version of chasing its tail.
Chris finally replenished the catnip supply so I’m waiting for one more kitty to show up to be de-borgified, then I’ll be able to move on to phase 2 pretty quickly. I hope he does better fighting Bertram than he did picking up catnip.

I can click on the kittens, but every time I click on catnip, the game crashes. Anyone else getting this problem?

I have a weapons locker room from last year. Are these too supposed to drop communicators? That would be nice for those of us that have been playing for so long. 😀

Those in Inventory are just Decoration from AFTER last Event. They’re not actual rooms on board Enterprise. Would be cool… but nope. Only those rooms on board and lock on Enterprise drop.

I got almost everything from the event last year, I bought lots of the final mystery box as I really liked the items, and I was happy to get the Borg Kitten and Spot. I love them as NPCs but I was disappointed that they have no action when tapped. I really hope that they add this as the animation for the Borg Kitten.

While cute, I think it takes a wee bit long to get the catnip needed to explode these guys. Only Troi can earn communicator badges outside two buildings (which are also ‘rare’ drops), and then only Chris can go to Terra Boberra and try to get said catnip on a 6 hour away mission. Not counting the buildings since not everyone may have them, that’s 24 hours for a chance at getting 5 sachets of nip, and that’s if Troi drops 3 badges in a row. Kind of wish they’d add another of the crew that can go on the away mission with Chris to help boost the nip chance as well as another who can earn badges.

They just may in Phase 2 (it is how it played out last time, more added at it progressed).
Also don’t forget that the Weapons Locker “Room” also has a chance drop at them. 🙂

Don’t know if it’s known but I replicated T-Plana Hath today and that drops Communicators, if that helps anyone (I need them myself) that gives 4 options to collect them – just need Chris to part with them Catnips now! 🤗

Every time I try to clear the borg kittens my game crashes, does anyone else have this problem? I already sent a message to TinyCo but the problem hasn’t been fixed yet.

Try some basics and in the meantime watch for App Version 1.18.5 to help with crashing.

When I got to the part with tasks to get catnip and clear two Borg kittens, the kitties were already checked off. I assume this is because TinyCo realized that some of us really don’t want to clear the kittens but like having them wander around… They really need to put one in the store for coins (NOT Clams!!!!) or some of the bazillion pink anti-matter sparklies I’ve collected.
Since Chris finally managed to snag some catnip, I will have to force myself to clear some kitties at the proper point in the questline, I suppose.

I remember when clearing 2 borg kittens was required but they were checked off for me 1 at a time when I used Quagmire to clear 2 borgs. It was strange but a great thing for me as I didn’t have any catnip at that time. I have 3 catnips now but waiting for 5 more from Chris’s away mission which is taking awhile.

Can’t get the communicators to drop. When I do I can’t get any cat nip. At 0 cleared so far.

We did the last time. I had one in my inventory, along with some tribbles. I don’t recall if they were made in the replicator or whether they were in a freemium gift box.

I think they were in a premium mystery box, for clams. 75 clams a shot, I think. I wasted my meager stash of earned clams trying to get a cat and all I got was a lousy Borg skin for the high school… Which at least generates scads of anti-matter this time.
I hope they either sell a walking Borg kitten for coins or anti-matter, or else have a coin/anti-matter mystery box with one in it this time. I won’t have any clams left after getting Worf and wouldn’t gamble again with clams on a box anyway. That’s for people with an entertainment budget greater than $0.00.

You can also drag and drop … I personally find this way easier as by the time you’re done tapping so many times the kitten has moved and you’ll most likely have to drag it anyway or lose it.
